One of the best episodes ever!! Daniel has finally cast his spell on Austin. Same on Austin if he doesn’t give Daniel a sterling as a thank you! Daniel is the premier lawn guy on yt.
wow that lawn is absolutely gorgeous!!! Nice frickin job bud its just amazing!!! I need that lawn on my yard right now!!! Oh and the Allett is one sexy beast!! Its like a beautiful british mix of an old Aston Martin mixed with a Mercedes hehe!! Love the rustic old school green and the newer battery powered looking uprights. Its a nice combo of old school allett and the new eco friendly touch. Very very nice mower and Id love to try one some day. I will have to resort to my california trimmer for the time being but I think I will manage LOL besides Id feel like im cheating on her if I were to dance with something else. Your lawns are A+ though and they make you just want to grab a 7 iron and give it a good rip. Very very nice video and keep up the amazing work. Much respect from across the pond
I cannot justify a switch to electric. Got myself a used ex Golf course Toro Greensmaster 1600 with recent reel and bottom blade . Admittedly I had to clean the carburettor and I can fix pretty much anything , got it working on 1st pull with no choke. When new these were over £11k . Got mine for just over a tenth of the price of that sterling and it has transformed my lawn.
Congratulations Daniel. Was only a matter of time before the new Allett arrived on the channel! The best lawns on RUclips will get treated to the best mower in the UK ! About time you entered the Lawn Strip competition this year to win one !
Dan I just ordered the Hayter 41! but If I was Sir Elton John I would buy you one of these Stirlings. That said the money you've saved your followers you deserve one from us all. Good lad.
Incredible lawns but I think it’s testament to your hard work and the full yearly regime. Don’t think there are many people out there who could justify or even afford to spend almost 4k on a mower. Is the battery system really conducive to professional use, I don’t think so unless you have a whole rack of batteries. Again great video.
Now your customers have seen what it can do will they be disappointed going back to the old mower. It’s the best cut I have seen on your videos, not to say the other were rubbish but this is a class of its own. With it you will smash your competitors.
Interesting about the ability to have the mower move at slow speed, but with the blades spinning at full speed . Can't officially do that with a liberty, but sometimes I get around that issue as I just push the liberty around by hand with the blades spinning at full speed. Same effect but a lot more effort with a liberty (especially on even slight uphill slopes).
Great last 3 videos Daniel. Sometimes it looks like you're filming in front of a green screen the lawns look that good. Really enjoyed you putting the mower to the test even thought it's way out of my price range. Hope you can somehow get one or may something a next level up from the Kensington for more accuracy if such a model exists.
Danny! You heard him, you’re a master at your craft. Masters have the best tools, they’ve earned them. Get one and keep the Kensington for scarifying and verticutting! Go to that new level !
I just knew it! I just knew it that the special guest will be Jarret with the new Sterling. I’m a little disappointed though that they did not give you one. How could they? You totally deserve one.
Thanks for the video. For that money there are some serious machines available, Dennis being one, could get a good 2nd hand one and a Hayter for this price. Sure the Dennis would not be electric but as you have said before, where does your electricity come from? Noise is a plus for the Sterling.
Thought i would look at price.£6000 with cartriges, and only 5AH battery.I use that battery size on my cordless tools. And can buy that size battery for £40.
Hi Daniel - you mention the Kensington digs in on one side - I saw a German review where they decided that the side-to-side weight distribution was NOT equal. This could explain the Kensington digging in on one side. I'm a big fan of the Stirling - less a fan of its price. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Dan. When are you going to write a book on lawn care. I’m sure we would all appreciate it and actually stamp down some definitive hints and tips for us to follow. Just looked. There are 18 thousand subscribers. If your book was £1. You could buy the new electric mower and a bigger van so you don’t leave tools behind and more space for the jacks magic. Just saying. 👍😎🤣🤣
Great mower👍. Very impressive. Lawns look absolutely amazing. Don't think my husband will be buying me one anytime soon, will have to stick with my rotary mower for now ☹️
It's one hell of a lovely mower dan that's a fact. I use an old allett Sandringham 14E wired electric. (Nowhere near as versatile) I would definitely consider a sterling 43 17inch as a replacement. But only second hand in a few years. If i could grab one for two grand or less. 😉
Great video. I watch several lawn contributors on RUclips but you are fast becoming my ‘go to’ content. Given the respect you’re growing online, you might want to invest in some decent microphones. Generally it’s not bad but this video had poor audio which is a shame considering you were doing a collaboration with Austin.
Good Vid Dan. Just bought a Liberty 30, In the end I just couldn't get the clean cut I'm looking for so had to bite the bullet. shame it's on backorder.
Its a lovely Mower. I got mine in April and have been very pleased with it, so solid as easy to change the cartridges. Its expensive but I think the Engineering quality justifies the price for high end bit of kit. My lawns still look at as good as yours though Daniel, I dont know how you do it as you dont live at the locations which should make it easy for me. For whatever reason I cant get mine to green up to your level despite feeding regularly. Great video keep up the work, its fascinating to watch!
That price is ridiculous even for a lawn lover, looks like it does a good job but at the same time looks like it's made using a different companys spare parts bin
Great video again Dan, I love my Lawn and use your principles to maintain it so thanks again. BUT wow £3500 to cut it ...way out the average persons price range and even most self employed gardeners budget. I can get as good results with low budget and second hand machines plus maintenance. If my £180 scarifier broke tomorrow it wouldn't owe me a penny. In fact i would just by a new one to hopefully last another 5 years and counting. Ok the Stirling is battery which is the only benefit to me, i don't mind switching out different machines to get the job done. If i won the lottery then yes i would definitely buy one. These machines are professional groundskeeping tools bowling greens Wimbledon ect ect.
😅The wife says i'm an enthusiast cutting it 3 times a week and feeding often. I will wait for a second hand one in 10 years time when the battery (green environmentally friendly) fad drops off and the robots take over.
Great review and great mower but more importantly is that barenbrug extreme taking 8mm like it's nothing? I have elite sport but thinking of changing to extreme next reno for the lower height tolerance.
Great video, i have the electric Liberty 43 and love it, C'mon Austin step up and give him one for his birthday, he advertises your product in every single video promoting the use of all the cartridges etc... :)
Nice mower, I love the fact that you can slow down the drive and keep the blades running fast. I wish you could do it with the Kensington. But it's very expensive for the domestic market. Danny you mention that your Kensington digs in on one side. Can you elaborate on this a bit. I have the Kensington 14k and a Qualcast 35s and sometimes after I mow my lawns I have a distinct line running the full length of my lawns. I have a mobility issue and the self drive is too fast for me so I push it. I have been told by a professional greenkeeper that my pushing the mower and not using the self drive is causing these lines. Hope you or any of your subscribers can help with this issue.
I dont tend to use the self propel feature, just push it around, got to get the exercise in somehow. How heavy is the stirling vs the kensington? love that cartridge change method, using the allen key is just such a faff.
Great video edit , top work. My Stirling is on order but will be a while before I see it here in sunny Western Australia ☀️ Warm season Santa Ana won’t strike up as good as the cool season you have but will still look good with regular verticutting. Great channel and best striping game on you tube 🌱👍🏻
@@ca2997 to be honest , It’s good but not great. I think for our warm season grasses it doesn’t have the weight and traction I had hoped. The build quality was also disappointing, stickers not lined up, bottom blade not level , and needed to be back lapped to eliminate the oval cylinder blades from the off. The cutting out of the VSD is also annoying when accelerating from a turn. To be honest, I wish I had bought something else. Positives, it is very easy to use.
I have been waiting for Austin to pay you a visit. I hope they are either gifting you one or giving a huge discount for the shoutout and being a long term allett mower fan already 😉🤞🏻.
How much!!!!????🙈, been following your channel for a while now and decided to try and reinstate one of my small lawns using “Jacks magic” it’s now very difficult to find this compost, other than the less peat mix so that’s what I have ordered, do you have problems sourcing Jack magic? Or are you aware of another brand? Love your videos and love to see a decent lawn ! 👍subbing to your channel!
Brilliant video as usual and really interesting ! how does it compare weight wise to your petrol (or did I miss that?) Great to see you going lower too. I have been cutting at 18 mmm (3 on the side adjuster) and have cold start 100 grass seed. Think it's a bit warm to go any lower at the moment ?
I have a 2 in Kensington petrol and several cartridges but can’t get the engine running properly despite a lot of effort! Would my existing 20 cartridges fit or can they be modified to fit the new electric drive?
Yes I did watch it but aren’t there 17 and 20 inch versions. I wanted to know if the 20 in cartridges can be fitted as those I have? Also he said depending what size they are? Would be good to see how you do a retrofit of the cartridges etc. thanks
The biggest bonus of all for me having gone battery this year is no hydro carbon fumes breathing into my lungs everyday...working directly behind my machines its so much nicer. Daniel...so funny...Man City flag draped over your shoulders..Best team in the world and all the land ✌🏽😀😀
I've been drooling over these mowers for a while now. The lawns I do are nowhere near the standard of lawns you have & I question is it worth paying out all that money for the lawns I maintain. I have Ego hedge trimmer, strimmer, blower, chainsaw and mower, along with the batteries. I would be very interested in getting a real world view of how long the batteries last, for example, when the grass is a bit wet or a bit longer. I may need to put the petrol mower on a weeks holiday and see how I cope just using the Ego mower. Would love to get one of these Sterling mowers though 🤤
You know how money is tight for some. Wouldn’t it be a nice gesture if Allett produced a replacement thicker bed blade for Kensington cartridges. 14” as well as 17” and 20”
Don't run your battery completely flat. Only charge when required don't leave them fully charged sat idle for long periods. I've heard slow charger is better than the fast version. Only charge when battery is cool. Most batteries are only good for 800 to 1000 charges.
Daniel, I’m in your FB but I thought I would post it here, you can do the same with the belt driven system, slow down the drive while keeping the speed of the blade the same by adjusting the cables, not as easy I’m sure but you can do it if you want to!
Matthew, does this really work. I have a mobility issue and have problems walking. I have to walk very slowly so I push my Kensington. It would be great if you could slow down the drive by slacking the belt, my concern is the belt will wear out fast with the slipping.

@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert mate I just use a rotary ego 21" which I have worn out the tyre tread after five years of council lawns or husqvana Flymo. I paid £30 for 2.5kg of iron. Not many of my lawns are flat enough for a cylinder mow. Just had 12ft orchard ladder. I look after the whole garden. Most folks don't care. They'll employ anybody with a mower.
Dan, was that honestly the first time you tried changing the cartridge (or did you have a quick trail run off camera). If it was genuinely the first time, then you doing it that quickly and easily probably means more than the hundreds of time Austin as said/demo'd it (as Austin is naturally biased and has had lots of practise)
You could always just go to your customers and say "Ive had to hit you with an extra 5 bucks a month add on for the going green tax thats been put on us lawn care folks to do buisness and stay in compliance" I think most clients would be ok with that and not to mention the peace and quiet you'd begin to offer with the quiet running new version. Eventually it will pay itself off as I se that mower being a sturdy running machine for a hot one. Its the initial beating the wallet will take on getting one but she is very sexy thats for sure. I would imagine it would be hard to let it go after testing and will be itching you just thinking about how to make it happen after. I know Id be having to fight myself from just throwing my credit card at them and saying just charge it and dont show me the recipt LOL. Are there finance options????? Now im going to take a look on that .......dammit!
This is the biggest battery o wait there is a bigger one 😂 Shame the sound quality is so poor for a video that deserves 100% quality. Hopefully the prices come down to a reasonable price.

It sounded a windy day I watch the videos I was just giving constructive feedback on the sound it would have made the video better if I could have understood everything if you think it was ok then that’s cool just trying to give some non biased feedback 👍🏼
I’m not convinced with this battery route, my Liberty 43 is underpowered in my opinion. Struggles with the scarifier and lawn brush at times. I’m sure the Liberty is more powerful. Replacement batteries are expensive too. It would be great if this was a petrol mower.
Sorry but a disagree. Battery power is absolutely the way to go. I can’t help but notice that not just the battery is Ego brand but all the electrics, handles and controls are too. I have owned an Ego self propelled mower for 5 years now without a single issue, least of all the batteries of which I have 3 for the range of Ego garden power tools I own. I recently had a failure with my 4 and a half year old Ego blower and under the 5 year warranty it was replaced with a brand new unit of the newer next model up with a brushless motor. Ego’s mantra is power beyond belief and when you try one you will understand why. To marry Ego to one of the best available traditional cylinder mower brands is genius. I no longer mow professionally so could never justify £3600 for a machine to cut my handkerchief size lawn I now have but that doesn’t stop me being envious of the Stirling.
@@michaelt2987 battery power is not green, believe what you want. Raping the planet of its precious metals for batteries is not green, mined by children. Also they are useless for commercial use.
@@tonyhodgkinson4586 I never mentioned anything about being green. I am commenting purely on the capability of the Ego batteries and motors and quality of their products. You may well be right about the “green credentials” but I suspect it’s certainly no worse than petrol driven and especially the fuel and oil we have all been addicted to for so many years.
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert That isn't accurate and Ford has far better engineering knowledge & capability for 100+ years than a start up and a rebadged Qualcast
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert there’s 2 ways to make back the investment. Sell it at a very high price (compared to others in their range) and sell to a select few who have the cash or sell it at £2k and they sell like hot cakes. Besides I find it hard to believe it’s £3m on this one mower. The same tech is/will be used across their other battery products. That said the ease of changing a cassette may make it worth it 🤣
Freebie. .......Way too expensive and wouldn't cut lawns all day so would be pointless, a John Deere cut really sweet all day made for the job at a grand.
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert my apologies, I thought Allett might have brought some of their equipment. The difference between when you've got the microphone to yourself and shared is such a difference. Please see it as constructive feedback and if you choose could be something to learn about. Not that I know anything about it. Keep up the great content and don't let my tuppence worth be anything to worry about. Cheers 🍻 👏
You have no idea. The Ego batteries are the Tesla of the garden power tool world. He was not joking that with the fast charger this 56 volt 10 ah will give 2 hours hard use yet recharge fully in under an hour. With a more power than the vast majority of petrol engines.
@@michaelt2987 oh you mean like the Tesla car chargers at Glastonbury that were running off diesel generators. 🤦♂️ You obviously didn't understand my comment. I don't give a toss how fast it charges or how powerful it is.
@@guckfoogle1096 I understand perfectly, I’m just not that bothered about how green it is more in the other benefits and under NORMAL circumstances it’s certainly no less green than petrol and doesn’t pollute the oceans as well as the air. Full electrical power to replace petrol and diesel is still in its infancy but is still making massive strides toward being sustainable unlike fossil fuels that have had in excess of a hundred years yet progressed minimally.

Yes I did watch it but aren’t there 17 and 20 inch versions. I wanted to know if the 20 in cartridges can be fitted as those I have? Also he said depending what size they are? Would be good to see how you do a retrofit of the cartridges etc. thanks
@@andrewmaw76 yes all can be retrofitted by changing the cog , dunno how but allett will have a video on that
The biggest bonus of all for me having gone battery this year is no hydro carbon fumes breathing into my lungs everyday...working directly behind my machines its so much nicer. Daniel...so funny...Man City flag draped over your shoulders..Best team in the world and all the land ✌🏽😀😀
Man City, Austin and Daniel rule ok. 🤣

That what im going to test on the batteries over the coming weeks
People who are crap at golf pay lots for clubs but end of day im
Not bothered if you buy one or not thats not what the vid was about
What feed do u use please and how often you use it
Check the links to my store in the description i use them all
You're going to get one, aren't you. How can you not!
Coz i wouldnt make the money back
is it rye grass?
Yes
£3600😮that's ridiculous. I'll stick with my mk1 Greens monitor that I found for free on the side of the road.
Like Dan said we all choose how to spend our money. But wait for them to become second hand
You know how money is tight for some. Wouldn’t it be a nice gesture if Allett produced a replacement thicker bed blade for Kensington cartridges. 14” as well as 17” and 20”
You could raffle off your legendary Kensington !
Does it cut as good as a petrol mower
Yeah power is powee
P.s love the videos
3.6k.... lordy....id love one though!
Don't run your battery completely flat. Only charge when required don't leave them fully charged sat idle for long periods. I've heard slow charger is better than the fast version. Only charge when battery is cool. Most batteries are only good for 800 to 1000 charges.
Just about every single point you made is different depending on which battery you have... Solid state. Li-ion. All different.
@@billthompson8182 I'm on about ego
Daniel, I’m in your FB but I thought I would post it here, you can do the same with the belt driven system, slow down the drive while keeping the speed of the blade the same by adjusting the cables, not as easy I’m sure but you can do it if you want to!
Matthew, does this really work. I have a mobility issue and have problems walking. I have to walk very slowly so I push my Kensington. It would be great if you could slow down the drive by slacking the belt, my concern is the belt will wear out fast with the slipping.
Allett do a £11K industrial batter machine. It is immense but so heavy. You would struggle in your van
Want to understand how you can have a lawn weedless 😮 amazing
Theres weeds you just cant see them
That’s Ego
Good informative video as per👋👋👋👋. But, Man City??????????? Gone if you now 😂😂😂

Very nice but much too expensive for home use, unfortunately.
Don't they do a ten blade cylinder for an even finer cut...
Not sure on the stirling your better asking them for the finer details
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert mate I just use a rotary ego 21" which I have worn out the tyre tread after five years of council lawns or husqvana Flymo. I paid £30 for 2.5kg of iron. Not many of my lawns are flat enough for a cylinder mow. Just had 12ft orchard ladder. I look after the whole garden. Most folks don't care. They'll employ anybody with a mower.
Daniel, l would love one but at three and a half grand it will have to wait till i win the lottery, till then l will stick to my 1958 RANSOM AJAX
Yep honestly i dont lie in my videos it really is that easy
Austin the tight git 🤣🤣🤣
Ha ha. About time
Only comment WOW 🤩
This is the biggest battery o wait there is a bigger one 😂 Shame the sound quality is so poor for a video that deserves 100% quality.
Hopefully the prices come down to a reasonable price.
You do a vid then and do the best sound ill get austin to get in touch with u
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert I do videos already mate get your self of Rode Wireless GO II you can buy 2 microphones and one receiver for around £220 or if you just need a cheaper single try FeiyuTech Wireless Mic
Most cameras have a microphone input.
We use broadcast quality cameras for filming football and Rode ntg4 microphones.
Let me know what camera you use if you use a phone you can get wireless mics to work on them.
It sounded a windy day I watch the videos I was just giving constructive feedback on the sound it would have made the video better if I could have understood everything if you think it was ok then that’s cool just trying to give some non biased feedback 👍🏼
@@RussellDossett i have the rode device and bought the big mic but its useless outside as you found out
Ran it through the rode go device too
Not just the mic to the iphone
Looks like Sterling blew you out and has gone to Chelsea instead.
£3600 for an EGO parts bin special!!!
Not sure i just test drove it didnt make it
The ford mustang has a ford focus engine but who cares?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert That isn't accurate and Ford has far better engineering knowledge & capability for 100+ years than a start up and a rebadged Qualcast
I remember you saying you would never go battery. I think for the amount of work you do Daniel, this won’t suit you. I see it as a domestic machine.
I agree im just testing it
£3k? Wow that a bit rich
I didnt spend 3 million on getting it too market
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert there’s 2 ways to make back the investment. Sell it at a very high price (compared to others in their range) and sell to a select few who have the cash or sell it at £2k and they sell like hot cakes. Besides I find it hard to believe it’s £3m on this one mower. The same tech is/will be used across their other battery products. That said the ease of changing a cassette may make it worth it 🤣
Ps feedback is a gift to Allet not a go at you.
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert pps have you got a discount code so I can buy one 😂
Sorry couldn't bear to listen to the video. The traffic noise was dreadful.
Blah blah blah
Freebie. .......Way too expensive and wouldn't cut lawns all day so would be pointless, a John Deere cut really sweet all day made for the job at a grand.
The sound quality is terrible, all I can hear is the traffic in the background.
I was watching f1 on sky yesterday and i couldnt hear the pundits when the cars drove by and they have million pound systems so dont give me hard time
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert my apologies, I thought Allett might have brought some of their equipment. The difference between when you've got the microphone to yourself and shared is such a difference. So the battery is made from flowers. And you charge it with magic?
What a load of BS for mugs.
You obviously didn't understand my comment.
