- This video explores the history, powers, and abilities of the Marvel Comics character "Bastion." From the "Siege Perilous" crystal creating Bastion from a combination of Master Mold and Nimrod Sentinels, him leading the anti-mutant "Operation: Zero Tolerance," capturing several X-Men and taking over the mutant school, being destroyed by "Horseman of Death" Wolverine, being restored by the Purifiers and going by the name "Template," to being responsible for the death of Nightcrawler; Let's take a look at Sebastion Gilberti, the most unique Sentinel, and powerful enemy of the X-Men. All including a short, canon biography and my own opinionated "Sage rating."

Great video. This is what's awesome. This may not have gotten a ton of views 6 years ago, but now, because of X-Men 97, everyone is coming back here.
I did not realize his background was so convoluted. I still think he'd make a great X-Men movie villain.
He is pretty much what those super-sentinels were from Xmen Days of Future Past, the movie, who could copy and adapt to any mutation, only with higher intelligence and an attitude. I used to get him mixed up with Sebastian Shaw, a mutant, who also has connections to the sentinels.

FINALLY! Someone ACTUALLY knows this villain! Nowadays when I mention him people think I am referencing Overwatch. Not surprised people dont know him unless they played X Men Next Dimension on PS2 or read Operation Zero Tolerance
I learned about him and Big Hero 6 through this giant sized X-Men Wiki Book back in 2008.
I was a beast wit bastion in xmen next dimension that game was slept on it was too gud but ppl was focused on the vs series

I found him in X-Men Legends 2 Rise of Apocalypse. Next Dimension came after. Each time he was a very captivating character.
I really liked Bastion in the OZT arc. He was just a breath of fresh air being so different from Magneto, Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister. I would love to see him in a live action X-Men movie one day and hopefully it will be OZT.

Bastion was able to outsmart Pheonix? That's freakin' insane. How is he not considered omega level. A machine that can outsmart an omnipotent being?
Because he copies there movement like predicting. You never read the comic. He is the best form created by master mold and nimrod. Telepathy and much more.
I remember him from Second Coming, he was truly terrifying during that arc, sending an army of Nimrods from the Days of Future Past Timeline on X-Topia island, and it took every X-Man plus the awakening of Hope Summer’s powers to defeat him. Would love to see him in future media projects
Another underrated villain. He would’ve made a great addition to the 90’s animated series or even Evolution or Wolverine and the X-men!

Bastion is one of my favorite villains. My first Marvel comic book was X Force 2008. And Bastion was resurrected by the Purifiers at that time. So technically, Bastion is my first Marvel villain.
I literally sat through almost that whole video just to hear you name-drop Machine Man (Aaron Stack), my favorite comic book character. I'm a sick dude.

Tbh bastion to me is like he just appeared outta nowhere ,he was just a bad ass beating xmen left right and center I never knew who he actually was back then .
I liked how they did Bastion in the X-Men Next Dimension game where he kidnaps Forge and uses his mutant power dampening technology to try to kill the X-Men and Magneto's Brotherhood. And not only is killing mutants part of Bastion's programming but he's also sentient, has a mind of his own and enjoys hurting and killing them the way a sadist would and his "I'm saving humanity from mutantkind" thing is just his sick justification for his actions.

At 52 years old; I'm still amazed how these characters go off on tangents more often. I don't expect some to stay the same for years, but life needs to be somewhat consistent. I think comics should too. I mean, it's a reflection of US, right?

Bastion made sure, in case of an overthrow ...a powershift ...that the Prime Sentinels would magically get 'poop-taste-mouth', buying Bastion much needed time. --- Note: Bastion has had OZT for a while, now. But he is currently applying an oily salve to related rashes.

+Lazy LoneWolf - LOL! I know. I've noticed thay too. With powers their size is almost irrelevant anyway! For example: Superman can rock with Hulk all day! Every now and then there are some more "average" height characters. I THINK Mimic is one of them (like 5' 9" - 5' 10"). It would make some of them a little more relatable. I'm 5' 11" even. Give us more folks under 6 feet!
