- This video explores the history, powers, and abilities of the Marvel Comics character "Warpath." From taking the "Thunderbird" name of his mutant brother, initially joining the Hellions and becoming an enemy of Professor X and the X-Men, reconciling with Charles Xavier and joining the New Mutants team, to later being a part of the X-Men and X-Force; Let's take a look at James Proudstar, a powerful Native American superhero, and ally of the X-Men. All including a short, canon biography and my own opinionated "Sage rating."

Warpath should make a future appearance when Wolverine creates his version of The X Force team and then later have some characters make future appearances and also be referenced after Thunderbirds death but he had made an appearance in X Men Days Of Future Past

It's a shame really, he seems like a strong well-rounded mutant who can go toe to toe with just about anybody. I understand the 6 rating because of lack of exposure of the character, he seem really cool though. . . .Wolverine seem to get along with him as well which is rare for Logan lol.
I mean probably what makes it a 6 is how he doesn't really have an area he is outstanding at (compared to other mutants) i wish they'd touch more on Native American folklore for the powers and not something kinda boring as this, I really like the design and the idea but the powers are lackluster
Wolverine probably gets along well with him bc they're both hunters with enhanced hearing and senses , one with nature and constantly aware like animals .... I REALLY like warpath ... dude needs to be in more stuff fr
He’s basically a super version of a Native American Cap Merica
But Warpath is more interesting. Captain America is not bad but sometimes, he's too much of a "perfect moralist" hero to my liking and I sually like more the heroes that also have their bad sides or flaws, not just 100% perfect and moralist character whose actions are always perfect and they never screw up anything.

I did, but his part had so little screen time, it was a bit of a let down. Also, while I do like that actor, I think he was miscast. Warpath is a BIG MO-FO, and Booboo just ain't a big dude. I REALLY wanted to see more Blink. She was awesome.
As much as I love the X-Men and the wide assortment of mutants in the Marvel universe, I really think the movies have squandered the characters and dropped way too many opportunities. In a perfect world, the movie rights go back to Marvel proper and we can finally see a real X-Men movie the way it should be.

Just a mix of how cool I think they are and their overall "influence" on their franchises. Like in the last few vids I just rated Sabretooth a 7, and Captain America a 9... as much as that hurt me! 😅 AND I want to leave some room at the top for when I start getting into some "Omega Level" mutants and "Cosmic" characters. He probably more alligned as a 5. His influence in the Marvel Universe is really low. And he is basically a strong brawler.
I can't believe I missed this one, now I'm on a warpath. I like how he's evolved from merely being "a strong guy", into a fierce fighter. Those bowie knives are my fav addition to his character. Xavier should've gifted them to him, as a memento of Thunderbird's sacrifice. And then Emma could've upgraded them to be a vibranium/adamantium alloy, as a reminder of the fallen Hellions. Storm should've just supplied the vibranium).

How the hell did war path even get ahold of vibranium in the first place? vibranium is extremely expensive and rare. I doubt that t,challa just handed it over just to be nice.
@@taylorschott4659 It was shown in a comic that Storm gifted Warpath a pair of vibranium knives. Storm was once wed to T'Challa (& hopefully, now that the MCU has the "X-Movie" rights back, they'll rewed & have kids), so it was readily available to her.
Thanks for bringing up the fact that Warpath is the younger brother of the X-Man Thunderbird because not too many people know this and if you didn't bring it up I was about to.

Man, I thought Thunderbird was a big dude-so much for "little" brother😂 I remember when I first started reading X-Men as a kid and Thunderbird rode that jet in-I was kind of pissed because he went out so quick(yeah he was cocky jerk but still)😜
I really hope Warpath or Thunderbird gets introduced into the MCU with someone like Adam Beach playing the role, I think that would be a really nice movie (considering that the MCU is now exploring more spiritual and lesser known superheroes)
When people say they want good diverse characters, both those people and Marvel themselves tend to forget that Warpath exists.

Honestly probably one of my favorite comic characters of all time. Loved him and his brother since I was a kid and I'm 45 now. Lol. Awesome character shame marvel barely uses him anymore. He was in that X Men show on Fox a year or 2 ago but got canceled after one season 😪

Farther north, the bear, wolf, deer and native all get taller the farther from the equator.
Notice our Maya cousins, some are 4ft tall.
Whereas my nation is northern mexiko/sw us, and we're all around 5'9-6ft.
But the nation that lives further up Dene/N"da (Navajo/Apache) are generally a few inches taller.

The first time he was introduced he kicked the crap out of Banshee and held him hostage to get to Prof X. He then managed to hold his own against the X-Men until a final throwdown with Wolverine which was a pretty good fight considering Warpath was still a teen.

Warpath is and will always be one best Marvel characters of all time. His 6 rating is questionable cause he is easily a high 8.He has so much story behind him and so much awesome character developement potential,that he could easily be used in any Marvel story. Ive always wanted to read a story of Warpath,Logan and Gambit going up against a whole Islandor country of super suped up baddies trying to accomplish some insane X-Force mission that requires them to use all their abilities.

It’s so messed up how they do Warpath in the comics. It’s low key disrespectful! I literally came all the way back to this video to say how they do Warpath in the comics is just sad. For one he is a mutant who at one point was class 90 strength which means he could lift about 90 tons give or take(please remember this). He also had the ability of flight as well. So back to when I said remember this. Warpath a couple of more mutants were literally beaten by Captain and Cap had nothing as much as a scratch on him. And I could kinda let that pass because I mean it’s Cap. But what I think is the worst offense of all is Daredevil a man with normal human strength his size and weight who works often was literally able to hold Warpath’s knives back with just his baton. Like Warpath literally had both his knives press down on DD remember a class 90 mutant vs a man with the strength of a normal human who works out a lot was being held back by said normal man. Let that sink in. WP is one of my top 5 X-men characters but he gets done so dirty don’t even let me start on WW Hulk (well everyone got done dirty in that comic) but WP was nothing but child’s play to Hulk. He used his Vibranium knives to stab Hulk’s shoulders so he was not able to move his arms. WP head butted Hulk and it didn’t even phase Hulk like at all not a single bit whatsoever. Hulk told him that he didn’t even need his arms to beat them and he took the knives out of his shoulders and threw them back a WP with incredible speed were WP could barely avoid them and Hulk said “I don’t need these either” or something to that extent. But, as far as I can remember WP always takes L’s smh and he’s my dude but still it’s just sad honestly.
Oh, and one more thing Warpath for some isn’t near about as strong as he used to be. He was struggling against characters, and other things as of lately that he literally should’ve had no problem with whatsoever(I won’t say what because I don’t want to spoil it).

I need more of Marvel Native American heroes in comics, games and movies! Would literally do anything for a Red Wolf and a Warpath comic or video game! Sadly, I know this will never happen :/
Warpath should have been introduced as his brother's successor but out of respect for his brother wouldn't refer to himself as Thunderbird but takes on the name Warpath.
His character could go through some changes with of course James having a grudge against Cyclops but slowly grows over time to respect him,but he would grow a more closer relationship with Wolverine who would even drink with the feral mutant.
Need an accurate version in the MCU!

I like how he was on the look out and spotted the sentinels freakin’ miles away giving them enough time to get away. They do need to do a back story on him and his brother in the MCU, but please no Adam Beach or that cute & tiny actor in DOFP. Need a bad ass.

Also, the one film with a Native American lead that would do really well is BraveStarr as it also has Shaman and touches on the traditions but un a Sci Fi Western setting.
Geno Segers from the show Banshee would be perfect, google him he’s half native half black, but he looks more native and he’s a massive dude so he’d be perfect.

They’ve only feature him in X-Men: days of future past for a few scenes. Now since Nemor in Wakanda Forever, I think they should introduce this character for Native Americans.

His powers are essentially the generic, "enhanced physical stats, reflexes, etc" that most basic level super humans have.
No he's class 85 - 95 range. That's why he can go toe to toe with Juggs!
