Lloyd Pittonet this could come across as Mark Morton profiting off Chester’s death. He could also have not gotten a blessing from Linkin Park or Chester’s family,or he could’ve released it without knowing for sure whether Chester wanted it released or not. I can understand why people would be hesitant to release music postmortem. Hell,Mike Shinoda has faced that criticism about it and Post Traumatic doesn’t even feature anything Chester worked on. It’s not an easy decision to make. In most cases I think it’s “I’d rather be safe than sorry” than being a coward about it. In this case, since Mark Morton was in the studio with Chester and knew he was serious about the song and loved it (paraphrasing his words),I think he made a well thought out and good choice here.
Are you fucking kidding me.......? Metal has ALWAYS been emotional and tear jerking. I suggest digging into it sir. Beyond the nostalgia of Chesters voice. Metal IS emotion personified
I don't know if someone actually catches the whole symbolism in this thing. The guy fighting alone it's kinda a reference to Fight Club. You know, Jack fighting with Tyler Durden, his other personality. The security guy can represent the people that surrounds you but doesn't actually see what's going on with you. Towards the end of the song, our hero gets destroyed but still we don't know what it is, until his "inner demon" comes out of the car trunk gloryfing himself with his victory. At the very final you see the "bad guy", pointing him at the security guy like "you should have seen this, you're the one to blame here, you could have helped him." When you realize that this is exactly what happened to Chester then you figure out, that's why the mic is standing alone. They could have use live footage, hell, even a hologram. Instead of that, this video teachs you a lesson: If someone needs help, don't be a dick and go talk to him. We're not alone.
That's exactly what I was thinking. He's fighting this seemingly invisible force but the security guy isn't even looking. The protagonist clearly sees it and is putting up a fight but we see nothing until it's too late.
Then who is the security guard... probable some of the management team on LP? You know... those who now are so full of words and emotions but they were too much busy filling their bank accounts?
It's bad enough someone pointed out the calendar was on July (which I didn't notice the first time I watched this,) but now you're pointing out that it symbolizes the actual day he committed suicide?? That's even more emotional. RIP, Chester. :(
@@sirdorkster Homie did you even read the article? To quote it: He added that the potential line-up change wouldn’t be “for the sake of replacing” Bennington, as he “wouldn’t wanna ever feel like we were replacing Chester”.

@@Nindroidgamer110 What do you mean? Do you have proof that heaven exists? Because no one has been able to prove any religion so far and there are over 3000 of them so good luck with that.
I agree. There's a song by PRO ERA called Like Water which has a scene where Capital STEEZ(who died before the video was shot) is rapping and it shows an empty microphone with his friends looking at it as if he was standing infront of it while rapping his part. You should give it a listen.
I think what is being portrayed here is, the fight against your own inner darkness, and well basically Losing. When the character comes out the boot, that's that Twisted version of the once Pure. I think these lyrics are like, the fight, losing, fighting, winning over and over. I't hit me last night. Why would he be crossing off the days? Maybe he knew he would just completely shatter in the end. It Sucks, like another comment on here, I was Also Reduced to Tears, but still I need to pop in every now and then, to hear that voice, this song is out of this World Good.
My interpretation of this video: The protagonist fighting against something he does not see and is stronger than him = Chester struggling against depression and his inner demons. The security manager, totally distracted, does not realize what is happening in the parking lot. = All the people near Chester who did not realize what he was going through. The microphone = As a sign of respect to Chester, remembering his absence and honoring his memory. The calendar, in the month of July, and the security marking the day 23 = Three days after the death of Chester. Finally, the death of the protagonist after fighting and falling defeated against that invisible enemy, but leaving the trunk again, as having risen or as having been reborn, is seen renewed. = I think this part, tries to give to understand that Chester somehow could be reborn and be at peace, not in this physical world, but his essence, his spirit, leaving behind the pain. Brutal song and video. I loved it, great work by Mark, Chester and the rest of the band.
Idk if you have ever listened to Dead by Sunrise, if not you should. I never knew Chester had another band until after he was gone. It's like mix of LP and Depeche Mode. His singing is beautiful on that album
How incredible is the lineup for this song! Chester Bennington- one of the greatest vocalist's of all time Mark Morton- an all time guitarist Alex Bent- probably the best drummer in metal right now Paulo Greggoletto- an incredible bassist Representing Linkin Park, Lamb of God and Trivium Three incredible bands
I think now on days we have a lot of good drummers in the metal scene as Elliot Hoffman, Steve Judd, Navine Koperweis, Jay Postones... All of them with their own and particular style.
@@UlyssesJF Chester never attempted to replace Weiland. His band did, because he was toxic af. Very sad he is gone but this isn't a pissing contest. Chester was a household name before ever being contacted by STP.

@@ElegantJames, if you ever look deep into songs you can see the pain and depression of the writer and within is the possible coming of their passing. There's always a connection to their fate pretold, but no one really pays attention to the songs and realize that they have been writing their suicide notes or just throwing caution that their death is coming.
Who ever wrote the lyrics to this song knew exactly about the struggle with addiction. I couldn't understand why a man who had everything would commit suicide. But these lyrics and going through my own addiction witnessing death of friends from overdose. This battle is real.

So even if there is music that they've recorded with the intention of seeing the light of day the legal process to attain them could take years depending on the parties involved
Prince, once said "I never have to write another song ever again! I have 1000's of songs in a vault already recorded." Where is this vault?!?!?
@@patrickrussell6558 apparently in his house. Someone once said there was a wall of discs, spine out, just labelled with dates. When they asked what was on them, songs or ideas, they were told they were albums.
@@corbinm5237 he made sure it was ok with the family to release the lyric video to this song. Im pretty sure he got their blessing on this as well.

and the machine gun called Alex Bent and Paolo Gregoletto from Trivium.
At the very final you see the "bad guy", pointing him at the security guy like "you should have seen this, you're the one to blame here, you could have helped him."
When you realize that this is exactly what happened to Chester then you figure out, that's why the mic is standing alone. They could have use live footage, hell, even a hologram. Instead of that, this video teachs you a lesson:
If someone needs help, don't be a dick and go talk to him. We're not alone.
Great lesson to learn!
I'm agree with you, nice point of view bro.
Nailed it!!
On fucking point. You win this comment section, mate. #MakeChesterProud
Respect to Mark Morton for having the empty mic! This song rocks great to hear Chester again and screaming
That calendar marking the day Chester ended himself... the lonely mic... Holy shit... what a haunting tribute. Right in the feels man

@@wattosacrim you clearly have not seen Alex playing drums.
@@luiscano4124 He never said that Alex Bent was a bad drummer.
My interpretation of this video:
The protagonist fighting against something he does not see and is stronger than him = Chester struggling against depression and his inner demons.

How incredible is the lineup for this song!
Chester Bennington- one of the greatest vocalist's of all time
Mark Morton- an all time guitarist
Alex Bent- probably the best drummer in metal right now
Paulo Greggoletto- an incredible bassist
Representing Linkin Park, Lamb of God and Trivium
Three incredible bands
Paulo is a Pos Liberal scumbag
Alex is a very good drummer. Just no where near the best
Personal favorite drummer in metal today would be Mario from Gojira.
I'd have to put Matt Garstka as best metal drummer right now. Dude is godly at his craft.
