@Ø Coming from someone that has TDWP's logo as a profile pic and Underoath's logo as a profile name, both bands whose lyrics often lean towards depression and what it does to you, that was one of the dumbest comments I have ever read

@Ø You're one of the people who think that depression is not really that harmful, that it can be easily driven away just by thinking positively and doing some happy shit. But no. Mental illnesses can be as bad as some serious physical wounds. I personally never suffered with depression, but I realise that it is not something that can be easily dealt with.

@sonderweg I am fully aware it's an American calendar. The first visual we get of the calendar is at 2:00 which is in fact showing a black x on a Thursday when the rest are marked in red. However, when the calendar appears again at 2:30 we see the 20th is also in black, along with other days. Why are some red and others black?

Sometimes it just comes down to who owns the royalties of the artist or their work upon their passing. Most artists will have a large amount of unrealeased music that was shelved for business or personal reasons. Sometimes it's too raw or unstructured and whoever has the controlling stake makes that decision. So even if there is music that they've recorded with the intention of seeing the light of day the legal process to attain them could take years depending on the parties involved

Lloyd Pittonet this could come across as Mark Morton profiting off Chester’s death. He could also have not gotten a blessing from Linkin Park or Chester’s family,or he could’ve released it without knowing for sure whether Chester wanted it released or not. I can understand why people would be hesitant to release music postmortem. Hell,Mike Shinoda has faced that criticism about it and Post Traumatic doesn’t even feature anything Chester worked on. It’s not an easy decision to make. In most cases I think it’s “I’d rather be safe than sorry” than being a coward about it. In this case, since Mark Morton was in the studio with Chester and knew he was serious about the song and loved it (paraphrasing his words),I think he made a well thought out and good choice here.

I don't know if someone actually catches the whole symbolism in this thing. The guy fighting alone it's kinda a reference to Fight Club. You know, Jack fighting with Tyler Durden, his other personality. The security guy can represent the people that surrounds you but doesn't actually see what's going on with you.
Towards the end of the song, our hero gets destroyed but still we don't know what it is, until his "inner demon" comes out of the car trunk gloryfing himself with his victory. At the very final you see the "bad guy", pointing him at the security guy like "you should have seen this, you're the one to blame here, you could have helped him."
When you realize that this is exactly what happened to Chester then you figure out, that's why the mic is standing alone. They could have use live footage, hell, even a hologram. Instead of that, this video teachs you a lesson:
If someone needs help, don't be a dick and go talk to him. We're not alone.

    My interpretation of this video:
The protagonist fighting against something he does not see and is stronger than him = Chester struggling against depression and his inner demons.
The security manager, totally distracted, does not realize what is happening in the parking lot. = All the people near Chester who did not realize what he was going through.
The microphone = As a sign of respect to Chester, remembering his absence and honoring his memory.
The calendar, in the month of July, and the security marking the day 23 = Three days after the death of Chester.
Finally, the death of the protagonist after fighting and falling defeated against that invisible enemy, but leaving the trunk again, as having risen or as having been reborn, is seen renewed. = I think this part, tries to give to understand that Chester somehow could be reborn and be at peace, not in this physical world, but his essence, his spirit, leaving behind the pain.
Brutal song and video. I loved it, great work by Mark, Chester and the rest of the band.

    Cross off the days gone
    Gone by

Heavy are the words that go unspoken (Spoken)
Heavy are the promises now broken (Broken)
