I have never heard of Grey Daze..I clicked on this expecting someone's version of a L.P song or their song, or style as a tribute to Chester's influence..I didn't expect to hear his voice, Chills..but connection was immediate.
I can not listen to a single Linkin Park song without starting to shed tears..not boo hoo..just tears will come streaming..Alot. linkin Park was around me on almost every decision or experience I had in life..somehow they would be on somewhere..Every song of LP brings baxk memories, both good and bad..but I wouldn't trade away a single song. I call my Linkin Park listening sessions my "Music Therapy"..Finding this now, along with my music therapy is pulling me out of a place I don't want to be in. LP always helped me think, .The music empowers me when I may be at my lowest..it's empowering me now.

Chester was one of a kind, and I miss him dearly. One of the few musicians that actually makes me feel their music with no intention. That’s how you know what talent is.

I know people have struggles, oh trust me I know this. My dad died when I was 5. But I couldn't imagine leaving my kids behind, they've saved me on more than one occasion and I thank them every day for me still being here.
@@stemartin6671 You know what's funny about that, there's a South Korean girl group called Twice, and Nayeon is the oldest in this group so she often takes up a protective, older sister role to the younger girls (which is all of them), and she said when a fellow performer she trained with took her own life, she said she almost couldn't believe and didn't want to believe it. At first, she wanted to say it was her own fault for being the oldest and not seeing it, but Then when she finally confronted it, she realized it was that girls own decision and choice.

Agreed. We were, at least for my generation, still reeling from Chris Cornell's death at the time when Chester passed. I couldn't believe it then, and I still can't believe it now, that the world lost two talented musicians, vocalists and writers. While I know I never knew either of them on a personal level, their music resonated with me, and still does to this day. The two of them, among others, and not just singers but fans, helped me feel less alone in this world. I am forever grateful to both of them for their gifts and the connection they gave us. This version of this song, and the original, showcase Chester's talent. I am going to miss hearing new music from both of them. Thank you Jaime for your part in making this possible.
Chester is not just a talent. He is a person that I admired, followed, and still saving me since my childhood, and I'm still sad till this day. But you're still right, such a talent that lost.

Linkin Park got me through the worst days of my life. I wouldn't be alive if it hadn't been for Chester's voice and message. When he left this world. I thought if he couldn't then how will I? And now in 2020 I keep finding myself asking the same question. How am I going to keep going? Hearing this song and seeing his son is like a reminder. I guess I'll stay a little while longer.
I can recommend you to find new idols or "friends". I had to find a lot until I got to the point I take what I get from their music. I am thankful for it cuz some of it helped a lot. But I wouldn't depend my life on them, the music should give the strength to carry on and to grow to a point where you hear it and you are happy and not because you still suffer on the same points 10 years ago.

I just realised how much of my personality defined by LP and Chester. Their music made me who I am, grew with me from my teens to this day. And its hurt so much. Part of my life died with Chester.

That man along with Adam Gontier formally of Three Days Grace and now Saint Asonia and Ben from Breaking Benjamin are the 3 people that kept me from ending my life over the last 3 and a half years... When everything went to shit and when I felt I had no purpose... I felt no one cared... Those 3 and their music saved my life. And I'm grateful of those 3. Cause without them I wouldn't be here today. R.I.P Chester... You are missed everyday single day man...

How can someone that I even didn’t get to know in person have this huge influence on me?? It’s truly painful to know that such an amazing human being is gone, and that many other people pass the same way. I wish things have gone differently, but I can imagine a bit of how much he needed relief and making things right with himself. By experience, there are thoughts, feelings, that can’t really be explained, that even people who suffer themselves don’t understand. And maybe, hopefully, he is in peace right now. Let’s be optimistic by celebrating the many good reasons he gave people to miss him, which I can’t list. This song is gold, by the way, Thank you for sharing.

@@thaisbandeiragvm7847 im doing better at the moment just with the anniversary coming next month it got to me he was such a genuine down to earth guy i mean how many artists actually shake your hand talk to you & then thank you for coming to a concert I saw it first hand in 2014 when I was lucky enough to be apart of the meet & greet at the download Festival in 2014 & watched on as he stopped everything to talk with a guy who had trouble standing because of his disability chester asked for a chair & talked with the young guy for around 20 minutes such a great human being & a genuine gentleman who we miss everyday 🙏❤💔😢

Oh my god I have chills over my whole body. When he starts screaming like an angel witch his unique voice that can´t be replaced... Oh my god, I miss him so much. These days Im listening Mike Shinodas songs from posttraumatic on loop and I can´t stop listening it. I feel his pain, the loss of a whole band. It´s not JUST about Chester, it´s about a whole Linkin Park family and band. Don´t forget about that. Chester is in peace, but others are still alive and mourning. My sadness is, that i would never see a whole LP band together on stage again. I love them all, incredible musicians that influenced billions of lives worldwide.
One of my friend was/is a very huge fan of Kurt Cobain. She hasn't stop talking about him for years and that something I couldn't understand before Chester passed. I just hope that 25 years from now I will still talk about Chester and that we will all do.

I grew up on Nirvana and still didn't understand the obsession. Chester however, his voice cuts to the soul. His music has saved so many through relating to the music. Linkin Park did what not a lot of other bands could do. Not only did they connect to the fans, but they evolved. They stayed relavant. And they would have continued to evolve. Chester was a brilliant singer and full of passion.

I don’t know why I feel the need to comment about this but I’m gonna do it. In 2017 Chester passed away exactly a week after my own mother did (Breast Cancer). My grandmother also passed away that month (Old age, she lived a long, happy life). “One More Light” finally resonated with me. A year later I decided to get a LP tattoo on my leg quoting a verse from “Castle of Glass”, which was a song from the era in which I got into LP. The guy who gave me the tattoo was a close childhood friend of mine. He kinda fucked up the tattoo, he misspelled some stuff, so I was planning on trying to get it fixed by a pro. He just passed away earlier this year in March (OD), so in honor of him I’m gonna leave it the way it is. Idk what it is, but all of that stuff kinda just end up falling back to this music for me

I remember the day I met Chester in 1994 in my early teens when my Friends Josh and Jacob" RIP my teddy bears" who had a band called "Nessecary Enemy "and they shared a well technically a storage unit turned into a studio in downtown Phoenix where they jammed and produced albums with " Grey Daze ". I've always listen to my instincts on peoples aura and the Vibes they gave me and Chester gave up a positive and humorous aura to me and will be missed. May the afterlife treat you well my friend.
