    Chester's ability to seamlessly go from pure melody, to gritty melodics, to all-out screams is completely unparalleled by any artist today. I'm gonna miss his voice, and I know I'm not alone in saying that the empty space he left is felt in my soul every day. I grew up on his vocals.

    @ultima6892 6 лет назад +101

    Hearing that Chester was excited to get into the heavy stuff again makes you wonder about the direction Linkin Park headed in. I know he was very critical about fans who couldn't move passed Meteora and shit on the band, and rightly so. People did need to move the fuck on. But it also makes you wonder if he was leaning to want to go back into the screaming and angsty side of them again. Creatively he must have felt suffocated or under so much pressure from fans and his peers at times if that's the case.

    • @MuffinstoMangos
      @MuffinstoMangos 6 лет назад +11

      I totally agree. I think CB did not like the direction of such personal stuff (at that time in his life. Like bringing it up over an over again would suck singing it.)that LP was goin. Maybe Mike wanted it. Maybe thats why CB did Kings of Chaos alot. He would super pumped on Papercut, Faint, even Burn it down but new stuff O.M L. Wad personal an a bit depressing in a way to a limit. Not saying I didnt like it. I liked all albums LP did. But I think he wanted heavier or rock more. Who knows there might have been a little riff going on....who knows. Thanks Mark! #ripchesterb

      @mikalkirwin3142 6 лет назад +8

      @@MuffinstoMangos i feel like they write the albums they way they hear them they dont lean twards one way or another it hust so happens this album was lighter than their previous albums (as in the music not the content) like they all would have been fine with him screaming if thats how the songs felt they needed to be but thats not what they heard in there heads they heard softer music i guess no riffs but i bet it was frustrating for ches cause screaming helps release the frustration and anger one can build within themselves when your head isnt the best neighborhood

    • @Mattube1983
      @Mattube1983 6 лет назад +9

      If anything I think it would be Mike the one that wanted to push into the more pop direction. I can’t remember where I saw it but there was an interview or behind the scenes to one of there song and it really seemed like Mike was wanting his direction and push for his idea to happen over anyone else. I remember Brad(guitarist) asking Mike if there will be any guitars in the song and laughing almost to hang it on Mike like it seemed that he doesn’t want to use much guitars.

    • @PROJECTJoza100
      @PROJECTJoza100 6 лет назад +13

      Yea, maybe, i heard somewhere that Mike said after THP that they will make another heavy album and that they are gonna focus on instrumentals a lot more than before. Everone was pumped and then they put out OML. Honestly, i dont even think that lp should continue, if they just gonna make pop because no much guitar, electronic drums etc. Its just gonna be Mike singing with poppy effects on his voice and hahn playing some electronjc stuff. IMO.lp shouldnt continue.

    • @Saicofake
      @Saicofake 6 лет назад +3

      PROJECT: Joza100 as a fan, I feel that they should end it here. It was a good run and I think it is time for them to retire Linkin Park.

  • @TheReddyV
    @TheReddyV 6 лет назад +19

    this is a great gift for us, it hurts but it's wonderful to be able to still hear his voice on something new, in a year and a half I thought that the lp would give us something even a demo, who knows how many things on the hard disk that we have never heard, and instead nothing, they say they are grateful to their fans but they have not given us anything chaz, we only talk about the career of mike

    • @anthg4563
      @anthg4563 6 лет назад +1

      redvalymood they gave us 7 studio albums and 16 LPU albums. Don’t be so ignorant and say the band haven’t given the fans anything since his passing. They’re probably working on something as we speak. Otherwise we would have heard a statement from them by now.

    • @TheReddyV
      @TheReddyV 6 лет назад +3

      @@anthg4563
      first of all I have not offended anyone and you would be asked to do the same, we talk about unpublished with chaz and then I do not see what the LP and lpu albums count, my opinion is that they are not working at all with regard to chester ne songs or other to remember, we'll see, the fact remains that they could do a little thing that would not have cost anything, let us listen to a simple demo and give relief and joy to all the fans in the world who feel immense pain and that have given so much in terms of love to the 5 left in these 18 months

    • @anthg4563
      @anthg4563 6 лет назад

      redvalymood the demos would be meaningless if the tracks with Chester’s vocals were far from being completed. Be thankful that they even released the LPU tracks because no other band does something like that.

    • @bryanwadleighofficial3155
      @bryanwadleighofficial3155 6 лет назад

      Or let's take in to consideration they lost their friend and bandmate. Half the band wants to move on and the other half is still grieving. In situations like this you have to respect everyone's opinion and if someone isnt on board the whole thing cant move forward. This goes towards finishing up rough demos

    • @TheReddyV
      @TheReddyV 6 лет назад +1

      @@anthg4563
      these are all speeches that have nothing to do with what I wrote, if you then think that the pain has prevented him to release a song, a 30-second movie, a demo of chaz in these 18 months to give joy to his fan and to honor him instead of having him dropped into oblivion then you are very naive and poetic, chester deserved much more than what was done and said, fans would have deserved something

      @@jgb5908 Well, if it was jealously, then it would be surprising because Mike and Chester seemed pretty close together like brothers. Mike seems to be genuinely humble for the most part too but everyone has their rough patch in friendship. You can never know what really goes on though so it's all speculation really. As far as the spotlight goes, it didn't help the fact that he was trying too hard to change himself all the time in LP rather then evolve the way Chester did and stick with his own lane. If he was able to add more of his rap elements to Chester's rock elements, he probably would have been recognized more for his talents because experimental and alternative hip-hop is what does best along with Hahn.

    And one more thing to everyone who hated on Linkin Park last few albums angers me to no other ... Especially that the fans had no idea this was sitting on the shelf ... Art is an expression and his music was heartfelt and honest ... Truly Truly missed thier music means so much more now and listening to those lyrics the puzzle makes sense and was right in front of everyone ... He was telling the world he was suffering and some of us relate so well we missed the signs ... Spread Love in pure form ... I swear it comes back it really makes life easier to be compassionate ... Understanding or just listening ... Still breaks my heart ... Their music does so much for people it's really hard to explain ...

    I was wondering why this song naturally hit me so hard when I first heard it on the radio... it was about something I've suffered with, codependency.

    I always wanted Chester to be in a metal band. Linkin Park's best song is Giving Up.

      Casual "fan" who doesn't know their awesome discography and seen everyone react to this song bc of the long scream? The song title is "Given Up"!

      DaP84 I am a casual Linkin Park fan, because I prefer metal and I was too lazy to look up the correct title. That song was the closest thing to metal that they ever did.

    I’m curious as to how far a part was his vocals recorded versus when he passed? Was this truly his last vocals recorded for anything?

    Love Chester. Listen to him everyday just to pay my respects. The least I can do. On side note, Jesus from walking dead gained weight.

    Fucking media making this song about Chester. I didn't get that at all. If you want to hear ominous lyrics, look no further than "Given Up." People see what they want to see.
