  • Pretty much all of us have questions on what a basic wood chipper can do. In my case I find myself using the heavy duty grinder more than the 3" wood chipper. The biggest problem you may have. Is the mild inconvenience of small branches turning sideways, and not going down the grinder until you turn them from time time. Are they worth the money ? In my opinion YES...

Nice video Ralph! I'm ordering one for myself. I had a big, old chipper/shredder that eventually died and I had to haul it away. Looking forward to this compact and apparently very powerful little machine.

Thanks for the video, if you don’t use the bag, could you use a bin or does it shoot it sideways too much and it would go everywhere

Thanks for posting this Ralph. I'm considering buying an Earthquake. Is the one in the video model 14267 with the Viper Engine? Is it easy to start? Never owning one before I'm nervous about it's maintenance as in changing out the blade and changing the oil. I've read where some people had difficulty. Would you consider making a video for those of us who never owned one before on the basics of how to start it properly and how to change the blades and oil? I have 0.35 acre lot but with a lot of oak, maple and pine trees that shed a lot of branches and twigs and already have a pile as tall as me to be to be hauled off. I'm thinking owning a chipper/shredder will save me money in the long run in mulch I buy as well as the cost of hauling the debris, as long as the chipper/shredder will work without many repairs. Thank you again.

Patricia Abood Sure, I have a few medical videos I have to get out of the way first. However, a wood chipper video or two would be a fun distraction. May take 2 or 3 weeks though ;-)

Ralph Turchiano Thanks Ralph. It will also give you time to critique even more and how Earthquake is holding up.

Dude. Stop leaning over the top opening and putting your hand inside the plastic shield. If you need to push a thin branch in, use another thin branch.

Thanks for the demo, I don’t think I’ll be buying one! What’s a noisy piece of junk!

No, they work great. I bought one last year, and have gone through several tanks of gas with it, and mulched several chest-high piles of branches. It destroyed them!
