Great video. I did the exact same thing in my '04 TJ. As mentioned by another viewer, the wire harness / connector was not compatible with my Jeep either. Easy enough to splice wires together though. Thanks!
Nice job on the video. I also replaced the bass driver in the console which was a very nice improvement to the bottom end sound that actually produces fairly decent bass. Nice detail, reminding about the direction of the lettering on speaker covers.
Thanks for the video. Its seems like you were pretty confident you could have used the original OEM cover for the roll bar speakers? They fit over this kicker brand speaker?
By any chance do you know how to replace the console speaker between the two front seats in a Jeep Wrangler TJ 2001? Install of the aftermarket speakers in the sound bar went great due to your video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Looking to do this install soon, as I just swapped out the subwoofer with the quadratec replacement. All my other speakers are factory. The factory sound decent. How much better would you say these are compared to factory?
You're welcome! In my opinion it was a huge difference. This is actually my daughter's jeep and for her jeep it was a bigger difference then most because two speakers did not work. The front driver's side speaker was shorted out preventing the left side from working. So for us the difference was huge but they do sound clearer than the stock speakers. Better bass and treble sounds. Good luck with your install if you do it!
My speakers in my factory 2006 wrangler Ruby don't look like the regular 4x6 here.... they are smaller and have little connected tweeter's....can I still install 4x6 as seen here
Everything I read tells me they will fit but to be safe you could go to Amazon and put in your 2006 Jeep and before you decide to buy it will tell you if it fits. If that does not help go to crutchfield.com and they have something on the site showing you what fits.
I am not completely sure what you are asking. If you want the sizes of the speakers I used you can click on the speaker links I put in the description of the video. From there you will see the sizes of the speakers I used. If you are asking which do I like better JBL or Kicker, I am not really sure. Both brands make good speakers and I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. Good Luck!
On my jeep the connectors are the same on the front and back. Look at the 2:25 in the video for the front connector and 5:25 in the video for the back connector.
As far as I know all TJ's use the same size stock speakers. So the speaker sizes I used in this video should work in any year TJ unless someone modified it from the factory sizes.

You can fit most 6.5" speakers in the sound bar easily at least on the 03-06 TJ

5 1/4 why not go with 6.5"?? especially in the kicker CS. The larger speaker makes a huge difference in the soundbar above!

Do the 4x6 plate come as a pair in the package? I would assume so, but the description makes it sound like its only a single plate.
I couldn't remember so I went back and looked at my order and I only ordered one so I would say yes.
I bought all the same connectors but my '03 Sport 4.0 has different connections. Are the front connectors different from the rears?
