I’m so glad you’re diving in to DPR Ian, I had no idea who he was or what his background was. I watched So Beautiful and I felt seen. Viscerally seen in a way I never had before. I looked him up and found out that he has Bipolar Disorder (he hadn’t come out as having DID) and it all made sense. I also have Bipolar 2 (thankfully, less severe without full manic episodes like he has.) I’m so grateful for his openness regarding his mental health struggles. He’s doing such important work, and doing it brilliantly. He’s an artistic genius, and the fact the directs his own work gives it that especially truthful and accurate depiction.

Oh also when you hear the deep voice that is Mito as you know. Christian has said somewhere I can’t remember if it was in one of his Instagram lives or not. But he can’t get his voice that low. But Mito voice is that low. And I believe the next album he comes out with and hopefully some other dreamers can correct me on this if I’m wrong. But it will be more about the hybrid which we know little to nothing about.
You are right, but he didnt do it for himself, it just happents when he change, to his alter and cud happent anywhere and he can control it. In videos and music records, is whit efects, but in some videos he has Swich personalitys and we have SEE Mr Mito himself acting, is scarry beautifull, and it makes him Unique.
I don’t think anyone has mentioned it yet but in so beautiful we get to see Mito on camera for the first time. Mito is usually with the white eye btw. In so beautiful the black and white scenes are all Mito fronting. Ian doesn’t remember a lot of this (he blacked out) and asked the crew when they would start filming but they told him he already shot a few takes. He edited a lot of Mito out and said he felt validated for once but also terrified. Mito is a whole other person who lives inside him and it can be terrifying. The song is about how something so dark can be so beautiful and easily misunderstood. Mito might seem like the evil creepy bad guy but he is the protector personality and will do anything to protect Ian from their trauma. Even punish Ian. Mito really hates Mr. Insanity cause Mr. Insanity keeps trying to access and reveal the trauma. (You can see mito vs Mr. Insanity in so I danced where Mr. Insanity is trying to open a door of memories/trauma). Mito doesn’t want that. Once you get to know Ian and see his stature/way he carries himself/looks more I recommend going back to so beautiful. You can really see how different Mito acts compared to Ian. Btw when Mito fronts (fronting is the term used when an alter shows), Ian deactivates his social media and locks up his house and things so Mito doesn’t do anything. It’s terrifying to have your body lived in by someone else and you have no control over what said person does. This first Mito album was really about accepting Mito and why Ian needs him. The lore is deeeep with Ian 😂

My man 😍 i dont ever ever ever wanna agree or associate myself with the vile, creepy and insane things that are sasaengs and stalkers, but i have never stanned or loved an artist as much as i do him. he's just so beautiful inside and out, makes music thats all my favorite genres in 1, and everything about it makes me feel understood or brings out strong emotions i didnt know i was feeling. on top of all that, hes so extremely talented, i cant help but be devoted bc he deserves so much more.

You are one step ahead of me though lol you saw him in concert. Which by the way. Was it Ian, arctic and live or was it cream. If I remember right it’s arctic with Ian but I can’t remember the other artist. By the way and this is my opinion but dang arctic is just as handsome as Ian. To me he kind of resembles Kai from exo a little bit. But I love Ian, arctic and live. And yes he needs to be protected. He is literally so pure. I just love him. But didn’t catch that he left the group. I just read upon it. I guess he left to start his new company called coming to you live if that’s true. Which is like Dabin catch phrase. If he did start his own company good for him. Sad though because him and Christian started dpr together. But happy for both of them.

So others have already said this so I will try to not make it long lol. He does have bipolar 1 and DID. his alters names are Mr insanity and also Mito. Said like mite-o. And. Believe recently he’s come out and let us know about a third alter which he’s just told us is the hybrid. We don’t know the name of the hybrid. Only a few people in his life know the name of this Personality called the hybrid. I may get this wrong so please any other Ian fans correct me if I’m wrong. I think we get a glimpse of the hybrid in saint. Don’t quote me on it. And he does everything in his company which the other co owner is DPR live. Ian does everything literally. He writes produces acts in his videos and he directs his own videos also. The man does it all lol. I have seen someone fans say the order people should react to his videos is from his recent video saint. And go backwards. For me personally I think you should react from his solo debut so beautiful and go by song release. I don’t remember the reasoning on why people so say go from latest release and backwards. I’m not sure if it’s maybe because the personality Mr insanity came first and maybe that’s why but not sure. Either way you can’t go wrong with his music. He doesn’t have one bad song. He also has small documentaries you can react to to get to know more about him and his writing process. He has a short film medley type mv. Called Mito movie which is excellent.
