Thank you for being the first mechanic to show really good visuals and explanations of how to properly align those darn timing marks on the 2JZGE engine. Other guys make good videos of these same processes then completely miss the mark (pun intended) or have really bad close up video on how to line up those pesky timing marks. You done good son. Thanks. Now to go put mine together.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Yousef Antonio i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great video! I'm in the middle of it right now. At 12:21, your say to replace the orings, will you please let me know what size/where to find those? I put some #7 metric orings on that sleeve and it I can't get that dang thing on. Please help!!!
Brooo you helped me figure out my engine wasnt cracked and it was just a faulty gasket bro thank you sooo much! No other videos show taking that other part off of the water pump
First time on this one taking apart my niece's which is a hand down from my sister. My sister bought it used and was in one front clip, hood 'n quarter panel fender bender about 5 yrs ago . I hope after I do this learning as I go that it doesn't need the camshaft seals. I only got as far as the the bump method on the harmonic pulley. Then I took the belt off but started second-guessing keeping track of the position.
Robert Greatsinger it’s a super easy job, just watch the video as many times an you need, and pay close attention, don’t worry about the cam seals, they will probly be fine
Where did you get the bearings for the idler pulley? What's the torque specs for the 3 bolts on the serpentine tensioner and the single bolt on the idler pls?
so you were able to put the that water pump inlet on while water pump was already secured? im not sure i have the right orings ...i also dont think i got the sleeve seated all the way ...got a leak at the sleeve and still about a 1/4 inch of it showing
The guy in the video didnt use it, but there is a special remove/install tool that they sell on amazon that holds the crankshaft pulley in place so you can tighten the center bolt.. makes life 1000% easier it was like 50 bucks, worth every penny... peace
Taints for the knowledge. I'm gonna be watching this vid while doing my 01 IS300. Hey if u haven't noticed yet. At WOT the butterfly only opens to 70%. Watched a vid on you tube to get the butterfly to open 100% at WOT and it's a different car... Before the new charger rt would pull on me all the way through.. Now it's pretty even until I hit third gear and now I just drive away from them... It's Nice...
White Trash Racing awesome, just found out my pump is fine. The bolt where the pump goes into is not tight and the bracket is broken, someone did a sloppy ass job
I did my yesterday and the car started but it has the worse idle and misfire I broke some clips off the coil packs I’m thinking I gotta zip tie them down before anything
horacio zamudio it’s hard to say, so many things you could have done wrong or damaged, just go back through and double check all your work, double check the timing as well
Man I just pay $700 for a shop to do my timing belt on my is300. It’s alright at least it’s done. My old timing belt, I let it go for 235,000 miles with no issues lol.
Thanks for that vid bud! I'm about to do this job. question about that pulley/bearing you replaced for the drive belt tensioner. Did you have to put thread locker on that pulley bolt? and what torque spec did you use on it. Thanks
Jonathan Sandiford yes if you have to question if you need thread locker then you should use it .... as far as the torque spec I am not sure , I would guess around 24ft lbs

Thanks im doing mine tomorrow becuase my belt broke last night And watching your video helped im now more confident ill get it done !:)
Perfect DIY video. Nothing more or less. Very straight forward.

What? So random!!!
@Yousef Antonio it worked and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out!
Precisely what I need to know I've never put a timing belt on a 3jz good job young man keep up the great work..

Nice video man, only thing i would change is turning the engine by hand to check timing.
Brooo you helped me figure out my engine wasnt cracked and it was just a faulty gasket bro thank you sooo much! No other videos show taking that other part off of the water pump

Good shit man! Plan on taking this on soon! Definitely using this video for guidance, just in case haha
Wow thanks man that’s help a lot on the timing belt
You did a great job man thank you
Also surprised you filmed so good with only one hand half the time !
Great video that help me a lot 👍🏼👍🏼
Where did you get the bearings for the idler pulley?

Thanks man I watched another video that had me so backwards on them timing marks your really saved my ass
I’m glad I could help you
How is the water pump not a critical engine component when you overheat and stall
1st cyl at TDC on Compression stroke right
so you were able to put the that water pump inlet on while water pump was already secured? im not sure i have the right orings ...i also dont think i got the sleeve seated all the way ...got a leak at the sleeve and still about a 1/4 inch of it showing
Great video man
Hey where do I get a water pump pulley?
How much would something like this cost me? I just dropped my is300 off to get this exact thing done since it was leaking.
How did you tighten the crankpulley bolt
I also wonder how you tighten to spec. Leave it in 6th gear maybe?
impact

Good video amigo.
How do you set the distributor timing afterwards? And the number #1 cylinder TDC compression???

great video boss !
Great stuff!!!
How are the kits from Orlieys auto or Autozone.? Do they hold out good.? Or recommend something more performance type
Diego Marquez I would recommend a gates one from napa , but auto zone or orielys would be fine as well
White Trash Racing awesome, just found out my pump is fine. The bolt where the pump goes into is not tight and the bracket is broken, someone did a sloppy ass job
I did my yesterday and the car started but it has the worse idle and misfire I broke some clips off the coil packs I’m thinking I gotta zip tie them down before anything
Any suggestions on my it’s running so rough
I did everything like this video but now my car doesn’t stay on only if I give it gas. Please help. New ecu maybe
horacio zamudio it’s hard to say, so many things you could have done wrong or damaged, just go back through and double check all your work, double check the timing as well
Yo i have a major front oil leak on my is 300 2002, would you think it would be the cam seals or the crankshaft seal are borken?
Hey man what size were the Orings inside the pipe on the metal cylinder connected to the water pump
I don’t recall
Need to pay you to do my timing belt on my is300 too
Man I just pay $700 for a shop to do my timing belt on my is300. It’s alright at least it’s done. My old timing belt, I let it go for 235,000 miles with no issues lol.
Is that tyranny oil coming from those 2 hoses at the bottom?
Yes the radiator has a built in transmission cooler.
@@lilrider100 any chance of radiator fluid getting into the trans fluid? If the radiator was bent or broken?
william Gates yea very likely
Thanks for that vid bud! I'm about to do this job.
question about that pulley/bearing you replaced for the drive belt tensioner. Did you have to put thread locker on that pulley bolt? and what torque spec did you use on it.
Thanks
Jonathan Sandiford yes if you have to question if you need thread locker then you should use it .... as far as the torque spec I am not sure , I would guess around 24ft lbs
Bro wtf the timing belt tensioner part
You skipped the part where you remove the tensioner wtf
wtf didnt even show water pump removal
I show you how to remove it at 9 mins into the video
Tooterole😂
