    Yes, a fiber laser would be great. Something about engraving metals puts a smile on my face.

    Have you shared your settings for the glass ? Looking for some starter settings. Also did you de-focus? or use autofocus?

      For some reason a bunch of comments populated in my account that were old. I am sorry it looked like I did not care about your comment. Please join Laser Freedom on Facebook your comments will not get buried. As a partial response I almost always use auto focus. I highly recommend doing a test pattern from Lightburn on a piece of glass to get the strength of effect you like. It will save you so much time and allow to also to set up different strenghts on different areas of your engrave.

    Hi George, Just upgraded from XTOOL D1 Pro 20W as I am taking far too long to paint glass with Tempura Paint. Im in the UK and have purchased an OMTECH 50W after considering the Aeon Mira 5. The UK supplier was very slow in responding and the Mira 5 actually costs more than 3 times the OMTECH so as much as I liked the inbuilt water tank and compact design I struggled to justify the cost considering slow response from supplier. Im testing right now with glass and i hoped your settings (although 60W) might offer some level of guidance as I am quite proficient now with Lightburn having learnt over the past 12 months with my Xtool. Could I burden you to share the settings with me as the video image of your Lightburn settings are out of focus. I fear i am testing at to higher speed and power. Keep up your great guidance as Ive subscribed with you for 12 months now. X

      the wattage of the omtech will matter. I am away from my lightburn program to get the setting, and the lens distance could matter. Here is what I would do to get the right setting as soon as possible go into the Omtech Facebook page and ask, giving your model also. CHEERS and congrats on the NEW TOOL...

    Your glasses here are beautiful and I love all of your creative ideas! I am curious if the Aeon 7 can do deeply engraved writing....more than the etching? Do you know hat type of laser is required for deepe engraving? I do it by hand now, but would love to automate!

      Carrie... the laser will go deeper if you do more passes. I have seen some thick bottles that have even been filled with paint and wiped off.. But really the thing to do is get ahold of Elisha at AEON she will not want you to buy a machine that will not meet your needs. Right tool for the job! Thank you for the very nice comment. If you have more detailed questions PLEASE feel free to e mail me. But I am telling you I love my MIRA!

    Hi George, where do you get your plywood?

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  Год назад

      I got that plywood at WoodCraftersSourse.com in Tempe Arizona. I also have a CNC and I go there to get exotic woods. It was some really clean stuff in a 4 by 8 sheet and I had them cut it down to my bed size. Cheers and Happy New Year.

      Just like you I enjoy following others who are doing the same thing I am, I will be looking for your content, I SIGNED UP!... The "verse" was not really a verse it was a LOGIC.. it said I believe in God, So I follow the Golden RULE.. if you want a picture of it let me know in e mail and I will send you one. The "verse" is part one of a two sided coin that I want to make... Yea, I am not very smart I will spend thousand of dollars to buy a laser to make a coin... FIBER LASER here I come. Cheers and Happy New Year.

    What machine would you recommend for business cards engraving? (large scale engraving hundreds a week)

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  Год назад +1

      Well, that is a hard question. I of course would go with a "small head machine" for speed, all Aeon machines are small head. I am doing a 6 month review on my Mira right now and I will talk about this in that video. Small Head moves faster thus less machine time. Time is money. I was going to buy an Aeon Nova but got the Mira as it would do all I wanted it to do for less money. Alisha from Aeon did not try and upsell me. In fact I saved money which I will use for a Fiber Laser in the near future.

      @@GeorgeKennerLaser the Mira is co2 right? How fast can you do engraving on metal compared to a fiber? My co2 glowforge takes 9 minutes per side :/

    So no more XTool D1 Pro?

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  Год назад +1

      No I still have my Xtool D1 and love it, more content on that in the near future. But the CO2 is just so much faster. I want to outfit the shop with all the types. I learn one and then there is another to learn, all centered on LIGHTBURN. This is truly a hobby everyone can get involved in. Lasers are like paint brushes to me. Right brush for the JOB?

    Ad disguised as an video. you're getting paid

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser  Год назад

      I do not pull comments... But at the time I did this video I was not being paid by anyone. As my channel has grown I get more and more attention from manufactures. I have a rule if the product is LOUSY.. I just sent it back. There is one video I did for a diode laser that was NOT GOOD... I did not mention their name. Seeing how fast I learned how to use a CO2 laser to me was important. If I can inspire someone to get out of their lazy chair and do something I will. If I sounded like and advertisement and you were disappointed in what I shared I am sorry. Utmost Respect, George Kenner
