Sure, the quality of videos might have been different, but they had character and were made by people with passion. Now that people make videos for money, it feels so manufactured. I have been watching KOA since the "Tik Tok" parody in 2010, when I was 9 years old. I didn't understand some of the jokes, but I felt like it was my secret little channel that was fun. Now that I'm 16 going on 17, It's a hard thing to say goodbye to. I practically grew up on this channel and I'm sorry to see it go. RUclips now a days is going for shit. 2010-2015 was probably the best years of RUclips.

I wish RUclips would take better care of the OG RUclipsrs because it is so sad to see a channel you grew up to love and watch regularly start to give up/take a hiatus. The key of awesome has always been a channel I could run to for solace whenever I was having a bad day or simply needed a good laugh after getting home from school. I’m going to miss this channel but I am proud of you, Mark for deciding to prioritize your well-being over your obligations to the channel because you deserve it. From my own selfish reasons I'm sorry to hear this, since you guys were one of the first YT channels I subscribed ages ago, and unlike many other parody song channels, your songs were always musically excellent and smart and funny, instead of just making fun of the originals. But making art is something you can't force, and things change, and YT definately has changed from it's early days, and I can imagine the fun has turned into stress, competition and burden. I'll watch the old videos, but if you ever feel like coming back - even just to hold a cute puppy - I'll gladly welcome whatever you come up with. 💟

Despite the fact that I have been a fan of KoA for years and watched the majority of the vids this video JUST showed up in my feed NOW, 2 months after it was posted to RUclips. This is a perfect example of what YT has become, and a sad reminder that YT is killing off content creators.

I remember my local radio station played their Christmas song that is a parody of LMFAO's song. Was one of the most requested Christmas song on that channel alongside Mariah Carey's Christmas song.

It marks an end of an era. Over the years, Barely Political/Barely Productions/The Key of Awesome produced many awesome parodies and songs. Some of my favourites include the parodies of Dark Horse, What Makes You Beautiful, Tik Tok and Shake it Off. It feels like RUclips's golden era is drawing to a close.

I watched KOA even before I knew about RUclips. God damn Jingle Bell and Pitbull trying to get into the club song got stuck in my head throughout my teenage. I have been watching KOA since the "Tik Tok" parody in 2010, when I was 9 years old. I didn't understand some of the jokes, but I felt like it was my secret little channel that was fun. Now that I'm 16 going on 17, It's a hard thing to say goodbye to. I practically grew up on this channel and I'm sorry to see it go. RUclips now a days is going for shit. 2010-2015 was probably the best years of RUclips.

The key of awesome has always been a channel I could run to for solace whenever I was having a bad day or simply needed a good laugh after getting home from school. I’m going to miss this channel but I am proud of you, Mark for deciding to prioritize your well-being over your obligations to the channel because you deserve it. From my own selfish reasons I'm sorry to hear this, since you guys were one of the first YT channels I subscribed ages ago, and unlike many other parody song channels, your songs were always musically excellent and smart and funny, instead of just making fun of the originals. But making art is something you can't force, and things change, and YT definately has changed from it's early days, and I can imagine the fun has turned into stress, competition and burden. I'll watch the old videos, but if you ever feel like coming back - even just to hold a cute puppy - I'll gladly welcome whatever you come up with. 💟

Despite the fact that I have been a fan of KoA for years and watched the majority of the vids this video JUST showed up in my feed NOW, 2 months after it was posted to RUclips. This is a perfect example of what YT has become, and a sad reminder that YT is killing off content creators.

It marks an end of an era. Over the years, Barely Political/Barely Productions/The Key of Awesome produced many awesome parodies and songs. Some of my favourites include the parodies of Dark Horse, What Makes You Beautiful, Tik Tok and Shake it Off. It feels like RUclips's golden era is drawing to a close.

I'm so sad that the Key of Awesome is no longer uploading, but I still re-watch their old parodies. As well, the goodbye is cute and classy. Some singers and superstars are too egotistical to say a word on their way out, so KoA deserves credit for this.
