Great job andrew!!!!! Your skills have come a long way since the first video I watched of you way back when. Doing a great job of going above and beyond to save you time and money later. Couple extra hundred now is much better than a few thousand later when its failing and has to be fixed ......Attaboy!!
At this point, Andrew, You should now have NO MORE questions from any viewers or subscribers. That isn't because anyone thinks you are a smart-ass and a know it all. Hell NO. It is because we should all now trust that you have done your homework completely, and we should all understand, however odd or unusual something might be, that you have looked at every option available, and you have chosen the best (cost effective) method. We should all be saying...... "Wow, that's a different way of doing something, but I know Andrew has done his homework thoroughly, and we trust his methods" Great job Andrew, thank you for being so thorough with everything.
Lol I don't know about that, I definitely make mistakes or sometimes choose things for the wrong reasons. With that said, thanks for the vote of confidence. Appreciate your support and watching.
Very nice job Andrew, new subscriber here. This looks great and I'm getting ready to build a new house with an outdoor kitchen, so thank you very much sir.
Andrew, Awesome job on those tile counters ! I've been studying numerous outdoor kitchen ideas & your slate, large tile is gorgeous! A very sleek appearance, the metal edging looks great, easy to clean & as you said, more DIY friendly. Oh, granite sure is lovely; but, it's pricey too. Thanks so much for teaching me! You are an amazing One Man Show! 😅 Go Andrew! 🎉
Totally binged the whole thing! Love the series. I did kind of cringe when you put all of those holes in your carefully prepared waterproofing with that trim. Keep doing what you are doing man. Love it!
I have only watched a few videos, but they have all been in a row. We would be friends. This guy is good, but also explains things very. I am much more than a “Harry homeowner” yet this guy showed me a few “tricks” that I honestly just hadn’t discovered yet. Good job my friend!
Andrew, I have said this before and I will say it again. For you being a DIY homeowner doing the work by yourself. You do a beautiful job on everything you do. And You doing the tile work remind me of when my Dad would do tile job for Lowe’s back in the day. Great video
I really like that counter top, it really makes the bar area look very sharp! I don’t do any type of construction so I watch your videos to learn in case someone I know is doing a project I can refer them to your videos. Once again you have gone above and beyond what most people would do, and it shows. You and Tiffany will get many years of use from your outdoor kitchen! I am looking forward to seeing all the appliances installed as well as all the SS, bet you can hardly wait till it’s done and you can start using it! Have a great day!
Andrew, you are truly an amazing person. I noticed that from the first video I ever watched. Daniel Arms gave you a shout out so I looked you up. Love your videos, Monroe Enzor from Durham, NC.
Andrew you did a wonderful job and looks outstanding!!! You and Tiffany will be very proud of all your hard work and attention to the fine details on everything.
I'm a baker and use piping bags every day, I'm also a keen DIYer, I use my piping bags to do grouting, much neater, less messy, and done in half the time. This project is looking good, well done.
The tile looks awesome...love the darker color...stain resistant...very durable too :) I'm glad you didn't go with the concrete counter top...you went through hell getting the hydraulic oil stains off the side porch after the man-lift peed everywhere! BTW: Thank you for the tips on doing the grout...it will be very helpful for me later.
Hi Andrew, this outdoor kitchen is magnificent. I can't imagine professional workers doing a better job. The materials you and Tiffany picked out are perfect. Will you be making bar stools to match the indoor barstools for a cohesive look?? Adding your logo would be perfect. ♥️♥️
great video, was going to do concrete tops but now i am going to do tile and definitely use your techniques, much better then most tile jobs ive seen online...
I haven’t commented in awhile but I’m still watching. Glad to see your subscriptions going up and once again great video. Meet y’all at the fire pit with your favorite beverage.
Good Job Andrew! Can't wait to see when you get finished and look forward to the first big cookout! PS save a little extra and send some to NC! [GRIN]!!!
I like the color and the slate texture of that tile. Good choice! Doing tile frustrates me. It's a messy job with all the thinset but at the same time you have to be really neat and clean with it to keep it off of areas where you don't want it.
Awesome job!!! just want to let you know Schluter can be cut with a regular miter saw, so you don't have to use a grinder. A little easier and the cut will be cleaner. I have been working with Schluter for years and it is a fantastic product. It really adds a touch of class to any tile work.
One thing I use in my thinset and my grout is welbond I use it in any cement as well and I too believe in sealing rhe tiles and grout but I love your outdoor kitchen and grill ♥️
Great job! I'm getting ready to do a tile job and everyone says to back butter the tile even when troweling on the backer board, it probably won't matter for counter tops but if you do any tile jobs in the future might be something you look into.
Andrew, looks great. I wouldve used the system with the wedges to level tile that big. It has helped me in the past make sure there are no uneven tiles. Although you dont have a large area to cover and with your attention to detail it probably doesnt matter lol!! great job brother!
One more suggestion. When you do tiling on a backsplash or on a counter like that or on stairs or anything that’s gonna possibly move or flex a little bit. Are use caulking in the joints between the backsplash and the countertop. If people are leaning on that counter you’ll find after a couple years the grout in that 45° angle is going to get little cracks in it and water can get in there. If you used a black or dark gray silicone in there and get pretty much the same look but you get a water seal. Same with the bottom of the shower between a manufactured tub or tile floor, silicone just gives you that little bit of flex an extra water seal and works a lot better. Plus when it does need maintenance it’s a whole lot easier to take out of there than grout. I also suggest not becoming a professional tile guy. It’s fun for about three or four jobs then it just gets really tedious and old. 😂 I absolutely hated it. I was not bad at it but as far as construction goes it just is very boring to me the first time at school but after that it gets really old. lol
I agree with the corners, but I also don't trust caulk and silicone. Those always seem to pull back from a sharp edge. Especially caulk, nothing is perfect it seems.
You did a very nice job with everything, if you see some cracking where you backspash meets the counter later down the road you can cut the grout out and you can get the same color grout silicone in a tube by the same company as the grout.
Hi there, I did tile for many years, the spot with two little pc you talked about 14:45 , personal experience little pc are not holding good, in your case they in corners so they will sit better, but if you would start mid with two tiles you would have 4 pc instead of 5 and side ones be large size, But still, had costumers not like that seam on center…
Andrew, I suggest you use a good outdoor rated silicone on the top and 2 sides of the outdoor cover to help keep out water but leaving the bottom unsealed just in case water does get in, this will allow a place for it to get out...
Looks great! I'm about to start an outdoor kitchen build myself and found your videos. You've given me so many great ideas! Could you put a link for the schluter materials? Thanks!

I have never been a fan of tile counter tops. That is best one I have ever seen and would consider doing it for myself. Budget friendly too. Good job.
Thank you! I've never been a fan either, but I'm use to small tile and tile side caps.

I seriously considered putting the grout in my jerky shooter. Basically a fillable caulking gun. I should have tried that.

Each, absolutely absurd pricing.
