**Attention** For those who love not seeing both sides, I am NOT trying to make it seem like the police are right in every situation. In fact, I agree the force used here was unnecessary, and the incident could have been handled better. However, some officers are genuinely trying to uncover the truth and perform their duties correctly. Many even agree that the other officers made a stupid move. Unfortunately, since some individuals avoid listening to both sides, everyone assumes that every officer on scene was terrible, should be fired, and should go to hell. Normally I like your videos but the commentary is getting to be a little much, especially when you’re doing everything you can to make it seem like the police are right in every situation, and they definitely weren’t here. It’s easy to sit around and Monday morning quarterback a situation when you weren’t there and don’t know how you would react to being accused of something you’re innocent of. Sorry but the way this was edited to favor the police and the commentary is a thumbs down for me.

@@pantherblazer2037 she lied about how long they were there. Had she told the truth, the couple wouldn’t have been questioned. I’m not watching the video again, but isn’t she the one who called about the couple?
When the Applebee's manager made the comment that the couple seemed suspicious because they asked for their food to go and for the check, I knew something wasn't right. What she failed to mention to the cops was the couple had been there for over an hour waiting on their food and had complained about the poor service. The fact she told police that they had only been there for 20 minutes and seemed very suspicious upon entering was an intentional exaggeration and lie to get them in trouble because she was butt-hurt over them complaining and possibly giving her attitude. Sadly, this fact was overlooked by the cops, but not by Applebee's Corporate office who fired her.
Good, I'm glad she got fired also because the place didn't even look busy enough to where they should've had to wait that damn long for food? She didn't need to do all that and they were possibly taken long with the customers food just to be a**holes, or hoping they'd get irritated enough to leave? I'm pretty sure they're not the only customers to complain about their crappy service, because of her and the other idiot employee(he's probably the cook)who was more worried about doing everything else but working? I watch a lot of these videos and most of the PO's aren't unnecessarily aggressive and they actually listened first, and those cop cams are of course more for the officer's protection because even when it shows them being dead a** wrong, they either don't get into trouble or a slap on the wrist just like criminals?
Yeah I thought the same thing. She was a bitch to that poor family. Being fired was not enough. She needed to have been sued for the pain and suffering of the poor family.
I *HIGHLY* doubt they were waiting for an hour and a half for their food like they said Sorry but if you've ever worked in a restaurant you'd know bla*ck people lie ALL THE TIME saying they've been waiting forever for any single thing and complain about everything in an attempt to justify getting something for free, being assholes to the workers, and justify never tipping. The table could have simply told the cops about their car and this all would have been avoided. I'm glad they caught resisting charges for being assholes for NO reason. The manager didn't deserve to be fired, either.

The description of the suspects closely matched the couple in the restaurant, plus the staff member lying and saying that they’d only been in there for 20 minutes would’ve made me think that they were the perpetrators. It’s crazy how off descriptions from witnesses can be and when they line up with a random couple and is backed up by a staff member’s timeline it makes the whole situation bad. Yes there should’ve been more interrogating of staff members about the timeline but they did what they could with what they had. On top of that they just let the female suffer all the way to jail without cleaning the pepper spray off her face and being so reckless with the spray that it sends the couples baby to the hospital. So brutal! Those cops got off extremely easy by getting suspended for 10 days at the most whereas this couple has to fight charges that can stick be with them for a lifetime if they stick. And then talking yourself into an arrest and getting peppered when all they had to do was cooperate with an investigation the police are trying to unravel. I dont even care at this point if these people were innocent. None of this would have escalated to this point if people learned to just simply cooperate and then later file a law suit with the department. This could have been a lottery dinner for this family. So this family went to eat, had a horrible service and the restaurant wasn't even busy; decided that they didn't want to dine in anymore, asked that they put the food to go; server wasn't happy with that and decided to punish them. So now they got traumatized, assaulted, battery, degraded, etc and a court case and still no food..... Why should they be charged with resisting arrest when there shouldn't be an arrest? What will the officers and those 2 employees be charged with?
If they didn’t resist and complied with the police they wouldn’t deal with all the embarrassment and charges. Would of been a better outcome for them if they decide to sue the police department and the restaurant
The kids in the bathroom were not acting aggressively or disorderly. All the couple had to do was to say "we came in that car there. Run the tags, it belongs to us." And the police would have left them alone.
The whole reason the police started questioning the couple is because the manager said they had only been there for 20mins. And they actually been there for almost 2 hours. The fact that none of the employees saw a big group coming into the restaurant and going in the bathroom shows the police should have checked the cameras first. Before trying to detain the couple.
You can’t really fault them for detaining first knowing they almost fit the exact description, and knowing the could escape if they aren’t being detained, if the couples waited enough police would’ve needed to check the cameras first before making arrest, then they will realize the employee lied and the couple now would have a big lawsuit against the employee for lying and racially profiling them without being in any harm

If you cannot even provide the bare basics of a description other than "OMG BLACK PEOPLE IN MY RESTAURANT", you need to be sitting in a jail cell. Imagine if I called the cops because someone suspicious was outside of my house and I just said "idk, it was a guy, so probably that one" and picked out some random person from the street? You'd likely demand MY arrest instead of applauding the cops that arrested some random dude walking on the sidewalk. Remember... the initial call was "a black couple entered our restaurant looking nervous and shady".. of course there was a bunch of white people and the customers? ALL BLACK. It's almost as if they called not because the black couple was nervous but because THEY were nervous black people were there. Not a crime or suspicion of a crime happened just "I don't let nervous black people in here". I mean... I wonder how many nervous white men eating lunch with family have the cops called on them... probably never from that place.
@@ryanthompson3737 3 things... 1.) The call came from somebody outside of the restaurant. 2.) I was defending the employees because the main commenter made a silly comment that makes zero sense. 3.) I'm on your side with this. The description was garbage, and it was unfortunate that there was a couple happened to fit that description despite being unrelated. But overall, the employees have nothing to do with what happened other than being witnesses to the police brutality/misconduct.
@favorite3424 exactly. The guy told them to check the video, which they ended up doing after beating on those folks and pepper spraying them. If they had checked the video the incident would've been avoided. Instead, they chose to take the manager's word that they had been there for 20 minutes instead of investigating fully. Applebee's was right to fire the manager who made the call accusing those people and causing the situation to happen in the first place.
And if you had a child on your arms and a cop would come nad ask you some questions, would you resisting giving answers because it's your right? I would answer that simple questions, because I don't fear cops while i'm innocent. Also then i would check if i can get the infos to see if i have to call someone for my kid.
The manager said, "They rubbed her the wrong way when they wanted the check and food to go." I would too if I've been sitting there for almost 2 hours with no food and horrible service. The cops should've done their investigation properly by checking the cameras, which took less than 5 mins to do and not go hands on first. Yes it could have been easier if the couple said what car they were driving, but they also have thier civil rights to not answer if they did not want too, it is not up to them to do the cops job/investigations properly. I can not imagine going to eat with my wife and kid to end up being tackled, beaten up, pepper spread and arrested, and my child taken away.
The cops should have also been honest and told them that the full description given was WOMEN in a red shirt. Not someone wearing red holding a baby. Police let’s be completely honest and not give info that allows you to detain for your purpose.
This is not the full video of the assault on the husband. In the full video, one of the officers raged out and started punching the man in his head repeatedly while he still had his baby in his arms. That's why some of the employees tried to interject and pulled out their phones and started recording them..

Well, that couple could have had a 5 minute respectful conversation with the officers and the officers would have let them go when they confirmed their innocence.... But no.... they had to be as uncooperative as humanly possible and refused to tell the officers what car they arrived in. Apple Bees would be exempt from being surd. You’d have to sue the worker individually. But the worker has the 1st amendment right to her own judgement & opinion. So technically there is no lawsuit. Unless you prove it was a hate crime or biased somehow. Which in this case there wasn’t enough evidence. Only enough to draw an opinion for us, not enough for a judge.
There is so much wrong with this. Witnesses, the staff, the very unnerving random people lying about everything, the kids being stupid. Then the officer using OC.
Nothing wrong with the OC but agree everything else was wrong. If anything I think more officers need to use OC spray, it's incredibly safe to use and has a high success rate. Even wearing glasses it'll effect you. Whereas wearing a thick jacket will make a tazer not work on you.
All this because an Applebees employee said these two people “look suspicious.” Police need to learn how to have calm conversations rather than aggressively assaulting people before they even have their facts together. And with a child there. Disgusting.
If they left the couple to leave without demanding answers after the couple applied their 5th amendment rights to not be questioned they would have got into their car and seeing them do that leave them alone . Next would be to question the employees on their misleading statements that are felonies
That’s exactly what they tried to do but they wouldn’t have that conversation. They wouldn’t answer them and tell them what car they were in. They probably had weed or some shii in the car tho and they were scared it would get searched which I get, but they legally have to cooperate if they match the description that’s reasonable suspicion

That's not rational thinking.

If you want this to stop, complain about lenient judges and district attorneys looking for empathy points by going easy on people, because even if they abolish bonds entirely, people are still going to be getting out far earlier than they should.
The Applebees employees are the ones that really made this blow up out of proportion. They are the ones that called the cops to come and check out the family sitting at the table. Couple didn't have the right to leave, therefore they got arrested when they tried to. What do you not understand?
@@intuitumnox6241 Exactly
I'm only 8 minutes in so don't have the full story, but judging off what I've seen so far the couple could have left in minutes if they just verified something the police could brute force their way into getting (by that I mean they could go in the parking lot and run every plate to find the registered owners. It would've taken awhile for everything to come back though). Instead they:
Refused to answer questions (Which is absolutely legal, but not always the smartest choice)
Attempted to leave while detained (This one IS illegal)
Resisted arrest (This one is also very illegal)
MEANWHILE the actual suspects in the bathroom were, at least so far, calm and compliant so they didn't need to get tackled. The cops were able to cuff who they needed and chill for a bit.
(Edit: Gonna add: I agree that it could have gone smoother and that the officers probably could've spoken differently or taken better actions: But they were detained for a reasonable reason, and tried to leave and then resisted when the officers tried to stop them. It doesn't matter that they didn't do the initial crime, they were lawfully detained. If I were to assign fault, I'd put a high majority on the staff for bad info, then a similar level for the couple and the officers, and a little on the witnesses.)
(Edit 2: I disagree with whoever decided to do compliance strikes against the guy)
(Edit 3: Sorry for the essay, but I just finished the video. I agree with the way they handled the punishments.)

The woman had no business saying they looked nervous in my opinion when she doesn't know how they usually look on any given day in the least. All these up votes are from ignorant people who don't know what false statement is or they're just dumb.
It pissed me off when she said “That table is looking soooooo scary…” wtf? With a baby and looking regular asf. No deductive reasoning by the cops outside the restroom.

Man I feel for black people when they gotta deal with the cops, because profiling is a real thing. Even the people doing everything right are getting messed with because of how they look it’s unreal man
You have to realize how easy it was for them to point out the car they came in but no they had to make more difficult than it was

@m.choudry4898 sorry I was hacked could you remove your reply
This is not the full video of the assault on the husband. In the full video, one of the officers raged out and started punching the man in his head repeatedly while he still had his baby in his arms. That's why some of the employees tried to interject and pulled out their phones and started recording them..
I'm sure all with no consequences
They showed some of it at the end! But no not the whole thing.

She just looked like a ghetto Karin!!😂
@@hellboip7876 dont forget the fact that either the manager or another female employee had lied about when the couple entered the restaurant, said 20 minutes when that was untrue. Furthermore the couple was stuck waiting and henceforth wanted to just leave. from the looks of it they only got maybe an appetizer at that point.
How is it possible that their bond was the same amount of money but one was a felony and a misdemeanor and the other two were just misdemeanor?
This is what “your actions affect EVERYONE around you.” Truly means.
Affect, but sure
Well, that couple could have had a 5 minute respectful conversation with the officers and the officers would have let them go when they confirmed their innocence.... But no.... they had to be as uncooperative as humanly possible and refused to tell the officers what car they arrived in. My point is that the bathroom kids are not responsible for the couple being arrested, it was the couple's uncooperation and resisting that caused their arrest.

@@baconheadhair6938That all happened *after* they called the cops.

All this because an Applebees employee said these two people “look suspicious.” Police need to learn how to have calm conversations rather than aggressively assaulting people before they even have their facts together. And with a child there. Disgusting.
Kept trying to get the camera man to get back and blocking him .
Did you miss the part where the couple refused to answer any questions when the officer first showed up?
They started out trying to have a calm conversation. The people were being evasive for no apparent reason.
