Narwal T10 Review: A Robot Mop & Vacuum That Cares About Itself

  • Guys, I made a mistake in the video about the battery capacity, the final capacity is 5,200 mAh.
    I have to say I really enjoy using the Narwal. I run it with a vacuum module first and then switch to the mopping module. Switching between the modules is fast and convenient. No need of cleaning the main brushroll, only empty the dustbin and the robot is ready to go. No more worries about the damp cloth staying attached to the cleaner after cleaning.
    If you are a fan of cleaning on schedule, this robot is not for you as for now cleaning at a specific time has not been implemented yet is going to be fulfilled in the future app. The robot also does not support saving multiple maps. To clean the second floor, you would need to take the base upstairs and rebuild a map.
    I really like that feature of calling the robot directly from the base and you don't have to take it off the base manually to clean the dustbin or switch the modules. I love the way the charging dock looks and the display that informs about everything. And I have to remind the Narwal is firstly a mop and only then a vacuum so I would not recommend getting it if you have lots of carpets or mostly carpets. There are no carpets in my place and I have to say this thing has been perfect for my home.

    Very thorough and detailed as usual, would you say that the S7 mopping is on par to this one, or this is still much better for that?

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! The Roborock S7 seems like remove stains a bit better (need to test it side-by-side to say for sure). I'm a bit surprised since I expected a better result from the rotating mops, maybe they just not pressing on the floor enough to provide proper stain removal. However, the advantage of the Narwal T10 is its self-cleaning base. The Narwal returns to the base to wash the mops two times per room so its mopping pads are always clean and it doesn't drug the dirty mop across the whole house like all the other 2-in-1 robot vacuums do, so overall the floor feels more pleasant after mopping. I think it would mop much better with a cleaning solution (I didn't get one in the box, Narwal sells a special cleaning solution for this robot).

    • @xeon2k8
      @xeon2k8 3 года назад +3

      @@SmartRobotReviews yeah totally agree the self cleaning pads are way better. With my S7 i send it to mop one room and then i wash the mopping pad, and then send it to another room and wash it and so on, which kind of defeat the purpose of the robot doing the work for you.

      @@xeon2k8 Exactly what I'm talking about. More convenient to use. I mean not saying I didn't enjoy washing the mopping cloth before but if you have a chance not to you will never return to that again haha

      @@SmartRobotReviews lol yeah that's true, same when you try for first time a vacuum robot, and then you try the self-emptying bin, etc, we are moving towards doing nothing for the whole day :D :D

    But I have read negative reviews and two things worry me:
    1) it needs to be close to the dock or charging base. Does that mean that it won’t clean other rooms? I don’t get it.
    2) several people have complained that the pads dry very fast. Doesn’t the mop continually wets the pads while it is running? I don’t get it.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  2 года назад

      Hi there. 1) I didn't have issues with the robot being not close to the dock and not be able to recharge. Maybe it is common for large spaces where it can't find its way back but since my apartment is relatively small, I didn't have this issue.
      2) I also didn't notice the pads getting dried too fast. It does return to the dock as it mops several times. If you set a max water volume, the Narwal would return to the base more often.

    Thanks for the review. I bought and had to return the iRobot® Braava jet™ m6 and the Roborock S7 for mopping my dark brown wood floor because both left visible wheel marks all over my floor. It was awful. I guess it was due to the wheels being behind the cloth. I see that the wheels of the Narwal are also behind. Can you tell me if the Narwall leaves wheel marks... even if your floors are light brown? Thanks from Quebec, Canada.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Hi there, I hear wheel marks are caused by the wheels are not being cleaned after a few runs. If you clean the wheels and run the robot, will it still leave marks? I have never had such issue, my tile is always clean after the robots. But to be honest I have no idea what else would cause such marks. Maybe the cleaning brush that also gets dirtier after a few cleans. But again, I never experienced that.

    If you buy a Irobot Braava Jet M6 in the future, please make a comparison video, I beg you! I searched everywhere in the internet and found nothing!

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад

      Those are different devices made for different needs. The Braava is a mop when the Narwal is a mop and vacuum. The Braava does not cross small thresholds and carpets while the Narwal does. As to cleaning performance, I can't say which one is better as I never tried the Braava but the Narwal washes the pads while the Braava drags a dirty cloth around which most robots do.
      Unfortunately that's all I can say about the two

    comparing to Roborock S7, what do you think is better in term of vacuuming and mopping features

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Tough choice. The robots are made for different purposes. The Roborock has the best navigation in my opinion. The app is also great. Mopping performance probably on par but the Roborock has an option of vacuuming carpets and mopping the hard floors at the same time which is not available for the Narwal. As a mopping robot, the Narwal is amazing, probably the best in the industry. I don't have carpets so I'm more than happy with it but if I had some, I'd most likely go for a Roborock

    • @LanAnh-jl3tc
      @LanAnh-jl3tc 3 года назад +1

      @@SmartRobotReviews Thank you for your review and reply. I only have a few small carpets at home. I think I'd go for the Roborock S7. The auto-clean mopping pad feature of the Narwal is tempting, but my budget is not for it and it's not a must-have feature for me.
