    Hello, I find your reviews to be the most honest and most useful. They are very good. You made my life a lot easier to choose a robotic vacuum cleaner. Keep up the great work. Thanks a lot!

      Thank you so much for saying that! Which robot did you end up buying?

    • @verynice8494

      @@MrRoombato I actually ended up buying the i7+. Which may seem quite surprising over a lidar robot like a T8 AIVI or a roborock. The reason I went for the roomba because my house is actually quite open with quite a lot of room. My house is mostly tiled with some wooden floors. By watching the videos about the roombas scratching floors I thought that I will clean those brushes, I do not mind a bit of maintenance. And the is the i7 still worth it in 2021? I have evaluated that it will fit my house just fine. I have watched the clash of the titans video and have really considered the T8 and roborock. I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you for the honest reviews as I said before.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад

      @@verynice8494 If the i7 works for you, meaning if you are willing to have it run only during the day, and if it can map and navigate your house well, and if you are willing to wash the brushes often, then the i7 is probably the best robot vacuum you can buy at the moment. But those are big IFs.

      @@MrRoombato I totally agree. The self emptying dock is what got me to buy it mainly. If it wasn’t for that I would have gone for somethings else probably. But as I said I’m very happy with my purchase and thanks!

    Thank you for your reviews. Am interested to know how does the Narwal compare to the iLife Shinebot W450 in terms of mopping cleanliness? Which mopping robot is better?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад +4

      I've got an ultimate mopping challenge video I've been too lazy to edit and voice over, but I suppose I'll have to get on it. The W450 is a MUCH better mopper, but it's annoying to use because it needs you to carry it where you want it to mop and put it away. And getting it ready to go is a lot more involved than the Narwal or the Baava Jet M6. But if you want hands down the best mopping robot on the market in terms of pure cleaning, get the W450, run it on 50% water, 1% moving speed and 100% brush speed.

    • @pooimuntong5605
      @pooimuntong5605 3 года назад +1

      Thank you for your reply. Looking forward to your ultimate mopping challenge video, pls do post it.
      Thank you for pointing out that I would need to carry the W450 where I want it to mop, because this is actually a plus point in my case. Reason being is that, I live in a 2 storey house, so in which case the W450 makes more sense as I can easily carry it upstairs/downstairs to mop. With the Narwal, I can't imagine having to move the base station and the water tanks in addition to the Narwal upstairs / downstairs whenever I want it to mop. Without the base station the Narwal wouldnt be able to clean and resoak the mopping pads.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад

      @@pooimuntong5605 Sounds like the W450 is the perfect mopping robot for you. Remember the best settings...1% movement speed is key. Make it as slow as possible.

      I'm not sure, but I've had problems that have usually been resolved by using a password protected guest network. Sometimes the problem is on your phone and resetting network settings or just rebooting the phone solves it.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад +1

      I don't have an S7, but I do have an Ecovacs T8 AIVI with the pro-mop (vibrating mop just like the S7) and yes, the mopping is a lot better than that.

    "I borrowed one from a friend" - still in the original packaging?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад

      Yes. He agreed to give it to me unopened in exchange for a small sum of money that made it easier for him to afford it. I had it for two weeks, reviewed it and gave it back to him.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад

      If you're implying that I'm trying to cover up that fact that it was given to me by Narwal, why would I do that? Everything I review these days was sent by the manufacturer. I don't buy robot vacuums anymore. But back then, few makers were sending me things, so I had to do what I had to do.

    • @ian5784
      @ian5784 2 года назад

      I wasn't implying anything. It's unusual for a friend to lend someone an item in original packaging. Your explanation is very reasonable, but doesn't fit into a traditional "borrowed from a friend" situation.

    I purchased one and I regret making the purchase because the pad dries very fast and most of the times is not even napping mopping and just running around with the dry pad, there's no option on the app to make it go and wash more frequently, I emailed the tech support and they said that's how it is suck it up buttercup!

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад

      I had that issue, but it wasn't so bad, as it rarely happened. Are you sure there's nothing in the app to change the frequency? I thought there was. If so, this is very disappointing.

    For that money it should recognize carpets and avoid them 🙄 👎

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад +1

      Maybe. But I'm not sure I can agree, because most of what you're paying for is that docking station with its mopping pad cleaning feature. Setting a no-mop zone is simple enough in the app. But yeah, you're right in the sense that they should have included that feature.

    • @RoboVacParty

      @@MrRoombato it is "must have" in dual-mode robot.

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  3 года назад

      @@RoboVacParty Narwal gets around it (or accomplishes it, depending on how you want to look at it!) by having separate no-mop, no-vacuum and no mop and no vac zones (so a total keep out zones). That takes care of dual mode needs. In my experience, carpet detection often sucks and you have to set a no-go zone anyway. Yeah, I agree, they should have included the feature, but honestly it's more a matter of principle because of the price point than a practical necessity.
