It's should be that way cause you can't say made in America. Lot of parts aren't. Only good thing the Chinese quality a lot better then when corporate packed up left workers high n dry.
I never knew that veterans couldn’t access the benefits they earned if they don’t have a home address. Why isn’t that on a billboard on every corner in America? That’s so disgusting, disgraceful and disheartening. Thank you for educating us.
I am a veteran, I am very fortunate to have a home address. Praise God. You’d be so surprised how hard it is to deal with the VA. I think part of their cost savings plan is to make it as hard as possible to get benefits, so that lots of veterans down on their luck just give up trying. And believe, allot do just that.
The delectably eccentric Floridian swamp wizard strikes again. A standup guy in a sit-down world. Sound as a pound and nutty as an overweight squirrel. The man, the myth, the infamous legend. Entertaining as always, brother!
Shadetree Surgeon always repping the west coast strong with Bert’s Harley lineup! Florida bikers really do it best-coast to coast, we keep the throttle wide open and the vibes unmatched. East or west, FL riders are #1!
@swiftfishin5680 only on the 1000 and up. Not on the 800. There's a company that has an aftermarket electric control i don't know the name though. I'm fine without it but its a must for some
What’s up shadetree! Your channel is my personal favorite to watch on RUclips. Hope all is well on your end man. Stay safe, and thanks for the absurd amount of great content.
Just got mine yesterday and can confirm you will be blown away by this bike. Go try it you will love it. I took my screen off to have perfect smooth quiet airflow.
My Pan America.. just with a Toce slip on and a PowerVision tune.. It's so fun to ride.. the gearing in the trans..the power is always there, doesnt drop much rpm. Like u say.. it rides amazingly, and at any speed.. A True Hooligan Bike.. I dont get why HD didnt put this motor in the Sportster...meaning the extra power..
I got my triumph tiger at the Harley dealership in town. They got it on a trade from an older gentleman who owned it for 9 years, I got a real good deal on it since they don’t normally sell them there. I love it!
I agree with you that the adventure bike seating position is more comfortable than Harley's touring bikes. I made the mistake of going from a bike with that seating position to a Harley Heritage Softail. It lasted 6 months and I traded it back in for an adventure bike style.
I love my 390 . Pegs risers and fork extenders and the most common complaints are solved. Drop 1 in the front and go up 3 in the back and the bike still does 80 with out an issue and it will wheelie with out an issue. Cruise control plug and play for 400 bucks . It’s a great light weight adv bike and it handles good off rd. Better than a klr off road
KTM is going out of business. No more parts or support for the things. I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. They went down the Chinese road and paid the price. Not a fan of the other two either, especially the Pan America. Not only do I think it is super ugly, but it is also known to be unreliable. The Rev Max motor is a disaster. And the H-D name shouldn't be on anything but a 45 degree air cooled long stroke single crankpin NON counterbalanced V twin. My 'adventure" bike is a bought new 2006 Kawasaki KLR 650, with lots of mods and loaded with Happy-Trail goodies.
Funny enough ktm going chinese got more reliable... my 2022 ktm 890 adventure made in Austria had loads of issues so dealer bought it back and gave me a 2020 suzuki v strom 1050xt best bike I've ever had to date.
Shadetree kicking ass, and shaking those trees. It’s good to see you digging on all makes and models of motorcycles. Big fan of your channel. You be safe out there, and enjoy the ride while you can.😎
You'll never catch me talking down the V-Strom. I used to have a 650 and it was awesome. The newer P-twin means it should carry its weight lower in the frame, so cornering should be better now. I have a Hundo Freaky Twin with a P-twin and it corners surprisingly well, even with that 21-inch wagon wheel out front.
VA is a govt agency. Like EVERYONE, private , or govt. , takes a second to get stuff from you , : money, service, whatever. Takes forever to get anything back from them. Once you realize this, life will be easier. As a U.S.M.C. vet, I have no desire to deal with the VA , or any govt . agency, or go on base for anything. I know some people are heavily invested into the system. You need all the best wishes at this point.
I have a 390 and we were riding fire roads and passes on Colorado and it is great for weaving around rocks in the rougher road. You can add an aftermarket cruise control for those slab rides to the fun. It was greatnin the twisties too.
I've been riding my RE Himmie for a couple of years. It's fun, but it's also kinda mind-blowing how weak it is on the freeway. That has got me starting to look elsewhere.
DRZ owner here. It has more than enough power for the trail and in fact, is a little too heavy for the trail. Anything bigger or heavier is not good for trail riding.
Thanks brother , up here in Canada it was -22 f today lol . And I totally agree, I think the pan am will forever be named dirt glide from now on for me ! Lol
Its been cold enough we are running water at night to keep pipes from bursting here in Gainesville area of Florida, so I agree there are few riders out past couple of days , except for those that ride 24/7 or dont have a cage to hop into when Temps drop. I Rode for over 10 years with just a Bike, so a little rain or cold doesn't really matter except in how you ride or roads you ride. Stay Safe and Keep the Rubber Side Down
not sure if it changed but i seen where the ktm 390s and smaller was assembled in the Philippines. the new Vstroms seen nice from what ive seen. i like that they have cruise control. wish the 390 did. good vid
Talking about dealer networks...I threw a Derby cover coming down out of the mountains around Big Bear.,.. Yeah I know, my fault.... Still, my buddy rode me 2o miles to Redlands, picked up a Derby cover and back on the road. Hard to complain.
I bought a 2024 KTM Adv as my first motorcycle and it is indeed a blast to ride. The 390s are built in India and are relatively free of the issues destroying KTMs twin 790/800's. With KTMs financial issues and a glut of stock on dealer floors, bargain accordingly folks! If you *really* want a true adventure bike, I recommend checking out the new Royal Enfield Himalayan as well as the CF Moto 450 MT.
The HD Dirt Glide has Won on the looks , that looks sophisticated quality, you're a Gentleman riding that, Mr.Shadetree Surgeon. 🤭🤣😂😂 And you're supporting the American economy and avoiding all the awkward questions about Japanese Bike Ownership.👍😂😂 Thanks again, have a great day! 👊✌️

Great vid, Josh - esp in the middle of winter! I bought my PA last January and love it. I don't plan (!) to use it for its offroad capabilities - I bought it as a 'sport tourer' as it's lighter than my previous HD bagger at 800+ lbs....and I'm coming up on 60 y/o. More power, more amenities (heated grips - who knew?!) and I bought the gray PA that I fell in love with the first time I saw one on a showroom floor. A bike I can stare at in the garage on a cold winter day and just love the look of it! Comfortable, fast, lighter...what's not to love? That said - I do own a KLR and seriously considered either a Tenere or VStrom before I pulled the trigger on the KLR. Lots to love on the Kawi, Yamaha and Suzuki ADV bikes! Peace, brother!
Fun selection of ADV bikes. All have their charms and pros and cons. Also it's good that Bert's salute is still going strong. It should. If it weren't for the veterans, the whole damn entire continent of America could've been nothing more then barren wasteland, a junk pile or whatever.
One of the positive selling points of the old V-Stroms was it's lightweight compared to its competitors, which made it easy to pick up if you dropped it, easy to manouver around the driveway/garage. But I'm never buying a bike with spoked wheels, after I saw one with spokes stripped all the way round after the Dude did a wheelie and landed hard.🙈
My daughters first street bike was a duke390 it was pretty sweet. She has a sv650x now. When she gets ready to upgrade from the Suzuki I think I'll probably buy it off her.
373cc's w/34HP of KTM ADVENTURING ANTICS! Love this bike. the entire DUKE lineup FR.

One of my first bikes was a 2006 Vstrom DL1000. That thing is really fast with 100hp, and I had a Power commander on it. The new 1050 Vstrom is even faster.
45 Fahrenheit is 7 Celsius- it's 8 here right now. I'm only about 150 miles away from RedRider. Now SHE has it cold, she lives up in the mountains whereas I'm on the coast.
I just picked up a 2024 Kawasaki eliminator 500 SE. 6500 bucks out the door fun bike ! I think it’s so badass tgat the shade tree army loves to ride motorcycles not just Harley’s or just sport bikes !
My 390 Duke is the dopest Hooligan bike. Not a fan of this version of the 390 adv but at eicma they announced a all new one more Enduro rally based. I got stoked until they went upside-down financially
Sure would love a 45°F(8°C)🇺🇸, it's -1.8°C here in Scotland January 2025 🏴,but most of the year is between 10°C and 14°C and Summer rarely gets above 24°C. So so long as there isn't frost , it's riding weather! 👍👊✌️
Try the Royal Enfield Guerrilla if it's in the US. The new 450 engine is way better than the old one. The new V-Strom is a nice bike. I'm just not a fan of the looks. It's a beat too "clean" and plasticy but I guess that's everything nowadays.

I was looking for a dr 650 or drz400 for a adv build. Well i ended up with a 2012 vstrom 650 with 6k miles on it. Its time to retire the old 00 xr650r sumo i built almost 10 years ago. Lol never thought I would own a strom. 😂 Ive got Pan America dreams with backyard special money 😆
With the amount of Harley dealerships that have closed over the past 2-3 years, I'm not really sure if you break down in the middle of Nowhere, USA dealer support is a given these days.
If you'd like to support the channel there is limited edition Shadetree Army merch available here! www.brapstar.com/
"smelling of cabbage" 😂🤣
One of my favorite things about the Shadetree Army is the openness to ALL motorcycles. All bikes matter.

That! Needs to be ADDRESSED
Veterans should be given a metal card that gets them whatever they need without a hassle.
@LtJackboot a homeless bum can get anything! Pisses me off. It's gonna get better Trumps back.

Agree with the 390. Over 40 horsepower and 100
Pounds lighter than KLR 650. Plus rider aids, led headlight and TFT dash.
Bert's cheapest new bike on the floor is over $20,000 out the door. I'll be keeping my xl1200l for a while.
