    Just got my Legion 6.0, and man is it beautiful! The build quality, fit & finish is top notch. I love this knife.

      How is the retention on the sheath? Very nice slim combat knife planning to order one.

    • @shoua7
      @shoua7 4 года назад +1

      The retention is perfect, IMO. Very snug, yet easy to unsheath. My friend has the TOPS Operator 7, and THAT knife is hard to pull out of its sheath.

    Another great combat style knife with the same full exposed tang, high carbon steel, actually an upgrade with 5160, and micarta handles is the Buck 245 MWG.
    Another great video man! Keep up the good work and God bless!

    Excellent pertinent review. I own several TOP’s Knives including this one which is attached to my LBE. It is an excellent piece of gear, I have had it out, and about for three years it has held up well thru multiple tasks, including some fairly harsh bush craft use. Mine is an earlier model which still has the steel clip on the kydex sheath which I prefer, thankfully this didn’t come with the cheap nylon sheath. ⚓️🇺🇸

    As a former soldier and prepping/bushcraft enthusiast, I subscribe to the theory of having at least one fighting knife and one utility knife. Great if one can pull double-duty, like say a Cold Steel Trailmaster or Ka-Bar USMC fighting knife, but if possible, to have one for each job.

    I guess I didn't realize that true combats with full/exposed tangs are rare...this looks like a great fighter. I recently sold my Tops Apache Falcon as it was just too bulky for me...this looks a lot sleeker/leaner. Great vid - thanks!!

    Here I was satisfied with my Tops Alaskan Harpoon as a combat knife that could also do bushcraft, but this is so much lighter! Maybe this will be a good option for the left hand ;)

    Hey I’m a new sub here! I just wana say I love this channel and really value your opinion you really put stuff to the test. Could you please do a video on knives good to put on a battle belt or plate carrier? I was looking at the tops dawn warrior just finding the perfect cross between survival knife with good fighting capability. Something that’s long enough but not to long and heavy enough to do survival tasks but light enough to fight! Thanks I hope you get this! Review the tops dawn warrior!

    • @GrzegorzK_gg
      @GrzegorzK_gg 7 лет назад +3

      91classicrock Hi. I van der two. If it's oval you have the sam grip no matter how you hold it. It is very hard to have round handle without hidden tang. And second. If you must use it without gloves, when it's minus 30, steel is much, much colder than anything else :)

  • @jackchen5781
    @jackchen5781 8 лет назад

    Thanks for the review! How long did you stab the wood or any other hard material for and how much did the tip blunt? I've been trying to get an idea of how much tip rounding is normal for 1095, especially when stabbing wood on wood to split sticks into thinner strands for starting a fire, which I like to do for the little stuff instead of batonning. Is blunting the tip unavoidable with 1095 even if you're working purely with wood only? Would D2 be a better option to avoid rounding of the tip? Thank you for putting the work in.

    I bought two of these knives, and both tips broke off with minor effort! Did the same thing like you in that tree trunk just as with me was a pinewood log! Tops doesn’t cover broken off tips so yeah, not my favorite knife brand anymore the okc s3 is way better in all of these things and it’s not even a full tang knife! Better go with tops thicker knives.

    Well, I did the thing where I comment before actually watching the vid....so now that I've watched it, I've got to ask how long you practiced that sweet slashing & stabbing routine you performed up against the tree?? Come on, I know you stayed up the night before, slashing and stabbing at air in front of your full length master bedroom mirror, shirtless and wearing a Rambo-style bandana. I just want to know exactly how many hours you practiced in front of that mirror.....shirtless....with the Rambo-style bandana? I ask because you looked like an actual ba-dass in that scene, so I know you had have practiced that for hours. Shirtless. With a Rambo-style bandana. Wait, is it just me? Am I really the only one who does that? It's just me, isn't it?? Dammit.

  • @lindabeebe7065

    Surviving in the woods is not just about shelter. I think I would like to have something like this for the black bears and Cougars. (Yes, even on family camping trips.) The KA-BAR'S and BECKER'S that everyone says you need in the woods aren't going help here.
    I'm not trying to sound sarcastic, I just think it's a legitimate concern that nobody is talking about.
    My son was shaking when coming back into camp a few years back after a hike with his Dad and brothers after making eye contact with a cougar behind them. This was not an extreme remote area or anything either. So maybe we can begin talking about what else we need a knife for in the woods?
    I would really like to see a review on knives that would make the grade in this capacity. I'm asking you because you're the only one I've ever seen stab with a knife in a fighting style, using a knife that is a combat knife such as the Cold Steel VG1, instead of just treating them just as another bushcraft knife.

    Say Heah Aaron, It look's alot like the Steel Will Dark Angel, The $64,000.00 which one do you favor. Oh, I got a pleasant surprise . I had a nice RUclipsr infirm me that the Vintage Ranger Afghan is now selling for $300.00 if you can find ibe. QoW and I thought I iver paid when I got minem Mine is also when they Tempered them in the higher RC. I also bought the Ranger T. F. I. Back then, which I teamed up with my Gen2 SP-53 A lovely piece of kit. But the Ranger Afghan I teamed up with my Ranger RD-9 We got caught in a fast moving storm where we we're, I bowed the RAanger RD-8 batining through a gnarly piece of seasined wood, I thought it was ruined, But it straightened out true after we batined through. I still use the combo, But both are in great shap. Their some of my Fav's, I like Choil's and both are in the 5160 with matching Hi-Viz Orange G-10 Handle's. My vintage Ranger Afghan is like a nice find because what their selling for now.,,.
