Samsung NX Error 00 Fix plus full disassembly of 30mm F2 EX-S30NB Pancake lens

- Error 00 basically means problem with autofocus. Sometimes this error occurred because the lens wasn't connected properly initially and can be fixed when the lens is disconnected, then reconnected. In my case the problem was caused by the lens cap (YES-THE LENS CAP!). I accidentally drop my camera on the airport floor, it falls on the lens cap, and that makes the front glass to go more inside than must be. The design of their caps must be on the whole lens, not only on the glass. Anyway, here are some pictures and video how i fix this problem, plus how to fully disassemble Samsung NX 30mm F2 lens for internal cleaning like fungus, dust etc.

P.S. I just clicked show more and read the rest of your original post. The issue with my 18mm-50mm lens not working at all anymore is probably also due to the cap I am using. Its covering the glass only. I keep it in a tight foam filled hard case and it may have pushed it in as yours did when it fell. I still have the other issues with the 50-200mm lens and no ifunction that eludes me.

Hi Stefan, I recently got a NX Mini and I get the rotate the zoom ring to unlock the lens error, basically even when i fully rotate the ring it does nt focus, do you know if this may help? i would appreciate your assistance
I have the same lens i been having a issue with it like the ratchet part inside makes a noise like the ratchets are sliding when the lens dose it its automatic zoom in and out it goes out fine but when it wants to go back in it gets stuck! I gota lightly push it in. please if you have any tips to help me get it fixed that would b awesome!!
Hi Stephen. Your problem looks simillar to mine, but iFunction button not working. It looks more like bad connection between the body and the lens. How do you feel the lens attached to the body? Any movements/wobbling?

OO error means poor connections. 30mm one is not so different than the 20-50. Today it is cheaper to replace the lens at all instead of repairing it. BTW I still keep my Samsung 3000 with a couple of lenses 🙂
It does seem to be different on the inside 'cause the connection pad sits tight with a small belt which I couldn't figure out how to disconnect. Anyways, I much appreciate your answer. Have a nice one 😊
Thank you for the video. If time permits, maybe you can help. I recently purchased a samsung nx3000 with 16-50mm OIS ifunction lens. After very little use It started prompting me this error while on vacation. I was using it in Hawaii so I thought it may have allowed some sand to blow into the lens (is that possible?). After that I was able to shake the lens and get it to work most of the time. This continued for 3 to 4 months. Recently it has stopped working but I believe the error is just basic "check lens error". It does not attempt to adjust or move when powered on any more. In addition, I also purchased a 50-200mm lens for this camera. This also has OIS, ifunction, and AF/MF switch. It worked sporadically for a while but would often prompt me to check lens. Both lenses were not working a week ago when I tried them. I am very much a beginner and recently I played with options trying to get pics of the last super-moon eclipse. After that I have not been able to use either lens. I get the "check lens" prompt. Also, the Ifunction option in settings is greyed out or sometimes not listed. Pressing Ifunction no longer launches the on screen ifunction menu. I am not sure at this point if the issues are lens related or camera settings related. Any thoughts or ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Do I need to be in certain modes to use the 50-200mm? Why is the ifunction option not showing in the settings menu? Is there a problem with the contacts or detectionof the lens. There are no physical signs of damage on the camera or electrical contacts. The body has never been dropped or banged around. How can I determine if the NX3000 is the problem or the lenses are a problem? Maybe both?
Hey Bro by mistake I removed the top of the lense te piece that comes out from the top where the suncovers goes. So I don't know how to put it back cause we i Put it Back it doesnt work the Autofocus. My lens its a 20-50 mm
Hi! I just wanted to know how you removed the ribbons. I have to clean mine cuz I went to the beach and some sand went in so the autofocus doesn't work. My lens is the 16-50mm. Hope u can help me out soon cuz I'm traveling next week. Thanks:)

Hi Madalyn. I use standard philips PH screwdriver, but not sure which size is. You can buy screwdriver set in any poundshop.
I have 16 50 pz in my nx500. Is that same repair with 30mm ?
Not really. 16- 50 is telescopic type aka is there have more moving parts. Be careful with the dissassembly. Just take picture on all steps

So I have the nx mini and I was filming and the camera fell forward so the lens became jammed in. It gives me the error 00, do you think I broke my motor or should I just not bother with fixing it and buy a new lens

I think I have the same problem with my nx mini lens.. but I think the problem is because there is something stuck in the lens. I took it to the Samsung Service Center but they don't take a risk on opening up the lens to look through the problem so they suggest me to buy a new lens :( Did you manage to open and clean the lens? Is it safe enough to open it by ourselves?
Hi Ajeng, inside of these are some thin ribbon cables. This video is for 30mm nx lens but your may differ
Hi Rosa, probably the mechanism is stuck. Try to release it with small sucker, gently pull the moving part.
Thanks, mine fell from about 1 meter height today and "kissed" the ground with one side of the lens and rest of the body. No it has focus problem. I hope this will hepl to fix it tommorrow

The cause of Error 00 is a weak spinning wheel attached to the motor which tends to break. The NX-Cameras had great sensors and maybe good electronics but the mechanics were absolutely shit. Samsung has no expertise in this field. Especially the lens with mechanical parts did suffer from this deficit.
