Great work thst you do on your channel. I applied for PIP after living with undiagnosed ASD for many years and issues with anxiety and stress, particularly around the workplace where complex verbal communication is required.
I applied using the PIP form and when I eventually spoke to the assessor by phone I had a number of examples that would allow me to demonstrate evidence for scoring. On numerous occasions the assessor repeatedly stopped me discussing these examples (which would have given me enough points) and went into far greater detail in talking about areas that weren't as relevant to my claim.
As a result I have now written 12,000 words as an entire life and career history with all these examples - I did score 4 points (arpund social interaction) and I think with this at Mandatory Reconsideration I will hopefully be successful.
I understand that 73% of people living with ASD eventually succeed, however I have now witnessed first hand the process trying to stop claims by supressing evidence and guiding concersation in ways that reduce liklihood of success.
Ultimately as I understand the majority succeed at tribunal so this process isn't working anyway and just delays the inevitable award in many cases.
amazing
Nice video wish more people come out like you the mentality of people is weak they are afraid to challenge the system or even speak out.
Maybe we should start a revolution of RUclips content creators who aren't afraid to challenge the system with their videos!
i wish more people would subscribe to them unlike other channels out there who don't deserve the subs lol
Thanks
Thank you for the donation! 😊
Hi Richard nice to see thanks for the great information and a good blog said hello to cara for me 😊
Hi there! I'll pass on the hello to Cara, but you might have to wait a while for her reply!
Thanks for doing these videos, much appreciated. I've been pretty lucky with my support for dealing with the DWP but I know an absolute ton of people aren't so lucky :/
I'm glad to hear you've had positive experiences with DWP support. It's important to share information to help others who may not be as fortunate.
@@DynamicDuoUK It was family and friends support .. don't think I've ever experienced anything positive when dealing with the DWP lol ... Hope I didn't give the wrong impression :D
Thank you so much Rich 🙏🏻👍🏻
My pleasure!
Thank you Rich.
Anytime ! ☺️
Thanks for this Rich. ✅
Any time!
Is that Richard from keeping up Appearances. lol 😂 Sorry Rich
Haha, Richard definitely has a doppelgänger out there!
Could you do a breakdown on PIP from a logical perspective (I have ASD and probably think this way anyway).
As an example if 100 people apply for PIP:
1. 33% are granted and 66% fail
2. Of these 66%, 90% apply for MR?, so we now have 60% who continue.
3. Of these 60 people at MR only 25% succeed at this stage? Another 15 awarded.
4. So by MR stage we have 33 + 15 awarded PIP?
5. I suspect that of the remaining 45 at MR stage who were turned down maybe only half go tribunal - say 24 people.
6. At tribunal 70% win so another 16 get through.
7. This brings start to fish success of 33 + 15 + 16 or 64 people out of the original 100.
I would really like to see this fully broken down, because if we have a torturous process that 2/3 eventually get through this is clearly a broken system!!!
Hi. My claim for PIP was pretty str8 forward, from start to finish and the back pay went into my account days before I received the award letter. One thing I would recommend is that people, if they have access, complete the application online. Particularly, if, like me, your hand writing is deteriorating (my typing is too) because you can save and edit your responses and go back over them to expand and correct, if needs be. That's not so easy once things are written down in ink.
Thanks for all of your advice.
Have you done a video with tips regarding reassessment Richard?
Mine is due sometime next year.
It's all up in the air now because if the Tories are out on their ear then we will all have to sit and w8 and see what Labour offer as an alternative
At the moment the process is the same, the next six weeks will be a crucial time for the country however even if a labour government was to come into power it's a whole new process and consultation period ahead of us.
I do think though that the plan they will have in future is that the current people who receive this benefit will stay on the same level until their assessment dates and then if they change anything in the meantime that will become the new norm very similar to what they did with dla going over to pip basically.
@@DynamicDuoUK They should do what i said and pay low rate components to all, those with sever conditions then have to goto a panel and make their case that way those with the most needs would clearly get the higher rates. Its a simple fix to the PIP problem rather than what we see happening now
No one should be in this dilemma .it is degrading.
20/30metres then you drop in street and an ambulance called. What does an hr interview have to the real world 24/7 .idiots.god knows who set this bs up
I think my pip been stoped, don't have online banking. I got a face to face soon with DWP. Think I will be recording the chat we be having. Edit: @DynamicDuoUK just got to the point in video were you said about recording. In the passed I been told that I can't record as it's a government building. Is this fate was going to record sneaky
Thanks
Good video Richard I'm still waiting for the dwp for my mandatory reconsideration request to come through by letter maybe I haven't heard anything from them yet because of it being a bank holiday Monday they have sent me texts saying you don't need to contact me they will contact me x
Are the DWP not letting people keep there payments being paid because the backlog is so vast and if you are refused you don’t have to pay that money back? Just thought that is how it works now instead of them paying out vast sums of money when a person wins 👍
I can confirm they are still doing backdated payments. I know of four people in the last month alone who have received the benefit and been backdated anywhere between 2000 and 5,000 pounds. So the understanding is that this still continues as normal.
@@DynamicDuoUK Ok Thankyou Richard 👍
I've been a joint tenant of a council home since 2009, and during that time, my adult sons were listed on my tenancy because they were under 18 back in 2009.
Would I potentially face deductions for non-dependent and be subject to the benefit cap
My benefits are transitioning to universal credit. I'm curious about whether universal credit considers household income. In my home, there are two additional couples residing with me, including my adult son and his family. Will his earnings impact my universal credit payments?
Yes I believe they will take into account entire household income.
I beleive they would if your on the same benefit entitlement but thats usually for couples only etc, ive known two people from the same family reside in the same house and have seperate claims, its worth checking, i reccomend using www.entitledto.co.uk/ as this will allow you to create a free online calculator for your own personal circumstances :-)
I see a change - I set up a playlist of videos to help with Citizen's rights on my channel and made it public and I've been adding your videos to it; well I just noticed that that option has been removed!! YT is not letting me do so.
Thank you for letting me know about the change, I'll look into it and see if there's a workaround. it could be because i dont allow mixing or sharing of my video's normally .... i'll try find a way around it.
Is pip going changer after general election
nobody knows, the whole plans have in motion now wont be happening thats for sure unless tories win, labour or whoever next forms a government will change it slightly and again we just simply dont know :-(
Hi guys
Any help please I am going on hols on the 3rd July in a few weeks and I’ve been old I can’t go on holidays by a friend unless I tell PIP
I only claim PIP and I don’t claim anything else
Any advice?
Thanks 🙏
You don't need to tell pip about any holidays at all, only if you intend to spend more than 4 weeks out the country at any given time or in one duration.
Please don't worry about it , lots of people get the information and details incorrect.
Enjoy your holiday 😍🥳
@@DynamicDuoUK thank you so much for the quick reply
I’ve been panicking all day and on verge of cancelling the hols
First time I’ve been abroad since I was 17 (42 now)
I’ve read that it says anyone on pip must call if any of the following applies
Personal details change, for example their name, address or doctor
The help they need or their condition changes
A medical condition has worsened and they are not expected to live more than 12 months
They go into hospital or a care home
They go abroad
They are imprisoned or held in detention
Their immigration status has changed, if they're not a British citizen.
Obviously I am going abroad
Just freaking out
Tried calling all day but kept getting cut off
We are going on 3rd July and back on the 18th
I passed my pip assignment with flying colours.
Woohoo! That's awesome news! Keep up the good work!
Whilst waiting for a tribunal date, do you still receive PIP payments please
do you currently receive pip now? if no then you don't get any payments untill the benefit has been awarded/overuled by the tribunral judge.
Just a little heads up. I wrote directly to the judge last time explaining everything. It makes it so much easier for the judge to make a decision before you go. When I did this I was phoned by the court to say I did not need to turn up. I found it much less stressful and did not have to face the lies the assessor had put in there notes. So when you get your date time etc send your evidence directly to the judge with your case number in top left corner under your name and address Good luck 😊👍
@@DynamicDuoUK I do currently receive PIP & many thanks for your reply
I missed my tribunal hearing and didn't get the letter with the date of the tribunal but had to make a new claim because of seizures
I'm sorry to hear that but glad you put in a new claim good for you ❤️
