I’ve been hand loading for a long long time. 35+ years. I’ve watched a lot of videos since I got you tube about 12 years ago. I must say this is the most informative video I have ever watched on this subject. The way you describe each step beats anything I’ve ever seen. I’d recommend this video to anyone starting out. Very nice video on reloading.
Awesome Video. I've been reloading since 1968. This is one of the very best videos I've ever seen since I started reloading. Sending it to my friend who's just getting started in reloading. Thanks. This is Better than I could have shown him how.
I have been reloading for over 60 years, I really like the way that you covered all the fine details of reloading. This would be an excellent source for someone just getting started into the hobby.
As someone extremely new to this hobby I can, with full ADHD, attest that THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO THAT I'VE SEEN, so far. I've probably watched 20-30 of them now. Thank you so much for explaining the "why" of it. Great job.
@@jiujitsu2000 Roger that. OPSEC is necessary in these tumultuous times. I appreciate your video, it explained so much more and answered a lot of questions I had. Thanks! Stay safe.
Will begin my first loads in about a week after getting my first press and ive been watching all of your videos and i have to say you teach very well. I already feel very familiar with the process and am confident to begin loading. I really appreciate your videos and theyre very well done especially for their age.
I know this video has some age on her, however she still holds up today as a information powerhouse into the world of reloading. I truly have enjoyed watching 👀your videos on reloading. You cover evey step in the process, start to finish. You have made it soooo easy for any newbie to understand. And for others thinking about getting into reloading to see it is not as complicated as some make it seem. So they take that next step, and are now reloaders themselves. I know this for I'm one of those people. I can not think you enough for your videos sir. Even as old as some may be, they still are having a positive impact on a lot of us in the gun community. Again thank you for your time and the Information that you have shared.
I've been reloading for 30 year's read the books to learn. but I really wished I had watched a video like this at the start it would have helped me out. Especially with bottle neck rounds.
I am grateful to you forever. I learned from you to reload for the first time. I learned from your video on reloading 30 Carbine. You are one knowledgeable humble teacher. Thank you for not leaving out the details.
i came in knowing nothing about reloading and now i feel like an expert. glad i snatched some brass 7.62x39 up im gonna have to start reloading it if things keep going the way they are.

Jiujitsu , You are a talented instructor and a credit to the shooting community for taking the time and effort to help others. I started reloading 35 years ago with only the instruction sheet for the dies, I sure could have used your video back then. It would have saved me a lot of time and mistakes. If you have a source for 7.62x39 brass please P.M. me.
Nice video. Starline has new brass, I just ordered. To save the work of using a caliber as much just get a case gauge and run each case in after resizing. You immediately know if your case needs trimming and if it meets specs. Lee factory crimp dye takes a lot of effort out of crimping and comes with their 3 die set.
I really like this methodology, been thinking about reloading for this caliber for hunting/ SD. As Hornady Black in this caliber, my rifle really likes, which leads to me handloading my own but with the newer polymer tipped 125 gr bullets. I think your way is very exacting, an thats what I'm looking for, although the only difference I would do, is weigh each powder load on an electronic scale, not by the powder an cartridge weight, my only difference. An in reality, it probably doesn't make any difference really, just a perfectionist by nature. Thx for the vid
Two years ago I set up my Rockchucker, de-capped and sized brass then had to sell the house and packed up my equipment. I'm thinking about unpacking and starting up again. If I remember correctly the rounds you made in this video are for a semi-automatic rifle. That's the reason you crimped the brass to the bullets. Can you crimp bullets that don't have the cannelure? They say a crimp isn't necessary on rounds used in a bolt action rifle. Do you crimp all your loads?
Have a question resized with the 310 expander in my Lee 7.62x39 dies. Primed and started reloading. I'm using Hornady SST 310 dia. Bullets are loose in brass. How can I fix the 100 brass that are already primed . Can I get rid of the decapping pin on the 308 expander and resize leaving the new primers in.
I may have missed it, but did you mention that the cases need to be sized before they are trimmed to length? The cases stretch when sized. This is an outstanding instructional video.
Excellent video....just one suggestion...invest in a universal decapping die, then you can decap without sizing and clean the brass in a tumbler....this will help clean the primer pockets
Nice video, thank you! Made my first test batch with different loads yesterday. I also drilled out, decapped and sized some copper coated steel Scorpio STV but don't have a solution yet to keep the slightly smaller large rifle boxer primer in. I don't really want to rely on nail polish or crazy glue for this purpose..
Got my dies and molds and such on the way to do this caliber. My only problem is getting a economical source for my brass. Everything I have ever shot has been steel case.
@@jiujitsu2000 "little" meaning no primers for you! LOL! Unless you want to dump 300 on a case on gunbroker, which is insane. I really didnt realize 7.62x39 uses large rifle, that makes me feel a little better, i have a decent pile of those.
There needs to be clarification on the differences between Berdan and Boxer primers. 7.62 steel cases are always Berdan primed but you won't be reloading that. Brass 7.62x39 casings can be Berdan or Boxer primed. Berdan primers can't be removed like Boxer because the brass is fundamentally different.

I just this weekend setup my RCBS reloading press for 7.62x39. Now I have a question. Is it really needed to roll crimp to bullets or can I skip that final step?
Interesting about the RCBS die set doing .308 and .311,,,,,,,also I just started using that Hornady case lube....I really like it! Better than the spray on...

Steel cases aren't worth reloading anyway even if they were boxer primed the fact that they're steel makes it really hard on your resizing die, they're cheap enough and not worth the effort you can pretty much guarantee if it's steell cased it's berden primed, there is one word of caution though concerning brass in that caliber some brands use small rifle primers if I'm not mistaken Remington's one of them

Man I can reload a killer 7.62 with a Hornady 110 grain ballistic tip for my mini-30 !!
Very interesting!
+Conor Dee Thank you!
Steel cases aren't worth reloading anyway even if they were boxer primed the fact that they're steel makes it really hard on your resizing die, they're cheap enough and not worth the effort you can pretty much guarantee if it's steell cased it's berden primed, there is one word of caution though concerning brass in that caliber some brands use small rifle primers if I'm not mistaken Remington's one of them
Good video.
thanks!
VERY COOL MAN!!
at 47:05 , hope you meant 5.45x39
Notice the black dirty fingers, always wash your hands before handling the primers. They can contaminate the primers and malfunction
excellent
thank you!
