I appreciate the slow and methodical way you explain the reloading process. It shows you have the true heart of a teacher and your maturity. So many in this industry seemingly make videos to show how smart they are and pump up their egos. There are way too many of those videos. I find your teaching very valuable and having taken a stab at making a few videos of my own, I realize how time consuming it is. Thank you. You have my gratitude.
Anyone wanting to really learn handloading 9mm should watch and listen carefully to this tutorial. This guy is very detail oriented. Takes a beginner through every step along with many safety tips on the whole process. Very, very good production. Fantastic job!! A+A+A+

I’ve watched and rewatched this video at least 6 times now. I don’t even own a press, but you make want to run out and a buy one. Hands down the best instructional video ever made.

EXCELLENT tutorial my friend...I've been reloading sine 1974..wish I had this when I began.. I'm completely self taught...started with an RCBS Rockchucker that I bought in 1972 from the post Rod and Gun club in Illesheim Germany...starting on a single stage is the best way to learn each step..I graduated to a progressive in the late 80s...so much quicker when you're loading a few hundred cases at a time...Love Lee dies..great value for the money...including the FCD..I still have that Rockchucker AND the scale I got the 'Ammo Crafters'kit...also sold by RCBS...a Ohaus micrometer adjustable scale no longer sold by RCBS...that I'm aware of...again...EXCELLENT...
To someone who has never reloaded and is thinking about doing so, this video was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge like this.
I watched several videos before this one & it left me kind of confused till I found this one. Long video, but really worth the time to watch for a first time reloader like me.
It's a good video but he fails to tell new loaders to get a manual and read it then read it again. It's not a problem but he also uses two steps to seat the bullet and crimp it which can be done in one step if you know how to use your dies. The instructions that come with the dies tell you how to do it. Rimless cases can be touchy if they are not exactly the right overall length and bullet shape. Loading ramp problems can occur.
This man really goes through every detail of the reloading process. All of his camera shots are clear and close up. I too have a RCBS ram loader, a little older model but the same process. Good Job. 👍
I'm an absolute noob to hand-loading, and was getting a bit discouraged/confused watching other videos. Your explanation of the process, options and variations has convinced me that this is something I can do for the three calibers I own and shoot. I don't know anything about equipment and supply brands, but am in no rush to learn now that I have a grasp of what's involved. Thanks for making this video clear and simple. It's what I needed.
For beginners a very informative video. It answers many questions. But as you progress your own styles develop staying within good practice. Myself i use a Hornady turret press with Hornady dies mainly. I reload 7 calibers and there are some changes i apply to this shown process. A) I decap before I tumble so primer pocket get cleaned too. Checking no media is stuck in flash hole after. The cases are sized so next i prime. This is the only time i use it as a single stage process. Then i finish the process thus; 1st die is to flair. 2nd die is to throw powder. 3 die is a 'powder cop'. This is a visual indicator die of a thrown powder with a indicator ring showing in a pin. Next stage empty as i load the head. Last stage is the seating and I do crimp at the same time. I personally use a seating micrometer unit (interchangable with other dies) as its more finite. The finished bullet self ejects at this point with the next pull. Every 10th round i check powder weight and OAL. I Hope that helps readers. All my data is printed on excel sheet and i keep a load log to log date/ deviations from load data and rounds made. BTW... a good and cheap cleaning medium is brake cleaner to degrease. Also, be careful not to get lubricants IN the case, as a squib may develop with contaminated propellant. My advice... watch as many videos on loading as possible as much can be ascertained from different loaders styles/knowledge. Be diligent. Dont get distracted... be safe.
Fantastic video! I liked how you have an eye for detail. My friends are always saying I put too much into my explanations when I tell them how to do something, it's always get on with it, come on, come on. Then when they come back and say "How did you say to do that?" I say "Come on, will you get on with it?" What you did is exactly what I would've done. There's no need to ask questions, or go back because you covered all the bases. Absolutely GREAT! I think I may start reloading my 9mm's myself. Between what you gave me and Hickok's info on equipment I'm gonna be saving a lot! I'm not going to be paying $45 to $60 bucks a box anymore. Thanks JJ. Doc Wayne
Anyone who is new to reloading needs to watch your reloading videos. Really, I watch everyone's and yours are fantastic. The camera angles and the explanations are very helpful. The old video you did with .38 special on the Lee C style single stage is one of the most helpful videos on youtube. I appreciate your work and time. I like taking my time and being careful. You got me understanding the process before I started and now mine is very similar to yours. I don't think I would have been confident to start if it was not for your explanations and teaching style in the older videos. This is another great one (I realize it is old footage). Thank you for helping all of us enjoy reloading and doing it correctly. You are top notch.
Came across your video and decided to log-in and thank you again for teaching me 7 years ago ( I think it's been ), I now reload with confidence and give your advice or advise others to watch your videos to learn. Thanks again, Steve D.
This was outstanding. I watched every second. You have a plain, simple, easy to understand, way of speaking. And overly polite. Just fantastic, thank you. Full of useful info.
I’m a new reloader and I keep this video in my favorites. I have watched it several times, and play it as I set my dies up so I make sure to get it right. Thank you for your excellent attention to detail, and thank you for taking the time to make a detailed video. So far I’ve only loaded 9mm, but I’ll be loading 357 mag next and once I’m comfortable with the hand gun rounds I’ll venture into loading rifle rounds, specially .556 rounds. Thank you again, I really appreciate you brother.
That had to be the most thorough and well explained video I've ever seen in my life. I've never reloaded one round of ammunition, but I now have a deep appreciation for the process and people that take the time to do so.
Even though this video is 3 years old it has inspired me to reload my 9mm, 45 ACP and 44 magnum rounds with ammo prices as high as gold, for me this is the most economical way to shoot with Covid-19 shut downs in effect in my part of the country. After watching this video I purchased a single stage press with 9 dies 3 in 9mm, 3 in 45 and 3 in 44 calibers. I was able to order everything needed except the primers which are out of stock at all of the online stores I checked. Thanks so much for making a clear and very easy to understand video for beginners like me new to reloading, now I too can enjoy another element of this fantastic hobby which I love more then my watch collecting now. Next I want to reload my 50 BMG, 338 Lapua, 300 win mag, 6.5 creed moor and from time to time my 300 AAC BLK.
This man is very knowledgeable of doing all the steps and all the process of doing reloading bullets !! Thank you Sir I really enjoyed your video !! 5 stars !!
I don't even own a handgun but I am one of those guys that would embrace the total "geekdom" of ownership, maintenance, and reloading; which in itself is another level of geek. Love your video and clarity.
I must say, being a newbee, I pondered if I'd ever find a singular video that compiles, directs and educates as far as this one does. You literally made this without wasted time and clearly showed specific criteria that now makes me and the people behind this MORE confident. Thank you for this; almost feel like you're owed a course fee for how good a tutorial this was!! Really well done my man. This video will be watched many times over for QC on my part. Cheers.
I am just getting back into reloading after many years, this the BEST information on all sites that I have watched. I want to thank you for your time and all of your information.
I started watching this video many months ago and must have gotten distracted, and didn't get through the first 5 minutes of it. I did not realize it was the same one this time and watched again all the way though. I'm new to reloading but I've been a sponge for the past 6 months. This video is excellent! Very well done. Not to shame any others who are out there only attempting to help teach the process, but it is very refreshing to see someone who knows how to do it right. A picture is worth a thousand words. A Video must be worth much more. Thanks for the time spent to present a well done and helpful video.. Literally gave me the confidence to go load the bunch of 9mm components I have acquired since.
I'm ex navy and now looking at reloading since its very hard to get ammo now and i loved your video. It helped me decide what I'm going to do and how. Right now I'm seeing that it is worth reloading instead of just buying the ammo and increased prices.
9 mm is cheap if you buy 1000 rounds at a gun show but you do't have choices , if you don't have any reloading equipment then you will spend some time and money getting setup properly just like in the video
It's cool, I already got my kit in any I've reloaded 300 rounds already and with the prices of 9mm in my area It's cheaper with buying the reloading kit and everything I need.
Great job. That video was very informative and probably the most well done overall instructional video I have ever seen, hands down. This gentleman shows you every step of the reloading process, does not go off into unrelated tangents, stays on course and explains everything so methodically and at just the right pace so the material never goes over the viewers head and he never loses the viewers attention. Thank you for taking the time to teach the rest of us how this is done.
I have been reloading since the early 70s and I always enjoy any information that can help newcomers to the game of reloading. I wish I had this much information back when I first started reloading, keep up the good work. I learn something new every day and I am 67 years old. My kids, say I am older than dirt lol.
This is the best video I've have seen ever. I've been loading for 50 plus years. Using the same RCBS rockchuck that my dad taught me on. Step by step one thing at a time is the best way. Thanks for the video. And thanks for your service. I am an old navy vet from the 60s.
I have been considering getting into reloading for awhile now. Happened across this video, it is extremely informative. Thank you very much for making it.
I just have to cringe when someone uses the wrong hand tool. When he uses a pair of channel locks on the lock nut of the die it makes my butt pucker! Why not use a pair of pliers? I know he is not using a lot of torque, but, why not use an open end wrench of proper size or even a crescent would be preferable to channel locks! Use the proper tool for the job!!
@@rolandbrawner8282 lol what is wrong with you? He uses a pair of channel locks because he only needs a tiny bit more torque than hand tight. Wasting time diving into your tool box for the perfect size wrench IS using the wrong tool.
IVE Never had to trim pistol brass, 40nyears of reloading and retired law enforcement in Georgia. Excellent and extremely detailed video, best instruction I've ever seen.
Man, I really want to congratulate you on this video. For me it is almost a reloading course in a single shot. You not only explains every step of the way in a clear and thorough maner but provide very important info and tips regarding adjusting the dies, measuring the powder and detecting possible problems. In addition, at least for me as a "fresman" in the reloading business, you speak in a slow and easy way to understand, making the video very didactical. Once again, congratulations and thank you for sharing your reloading knowledge with us. 👍 Cezar Dearo - Paraná - Brazil
Excellent presentation. I've been reloading for years. I watched the video to learn how to seat the bullets and set the crimp with my new lee loader dies. they are slightly different than my other dies. The video was exactly what i needed. Thank you in Idaho. You are a natural teacher.
I’m super late to this party but just have to also tell you this is the best pistol reloading video I have every seen!! Thank you for your work and effort in producing this video.
After watching this video anyone should have the confidence to load ammo. He takes every aspect of the individual components and explains very well. Great video.
New to reloading and have viewed at least 20 RUclips videos on reloading. Yours is among the very best - giving the reasons for each step was very helpful. Thanks!
I want to reiterate what an excellent teacher you are. Many of us learn easier by watching the process. And I’m learning a lot from you. You make it look easy and even sort of fun! And you’re very thorough !!
I've watched other Reloading videos to see if it would be a doable process for me. I was lost on all of them EXCEPT for this video. This is well explained. Thanks!
JIU, you won't believe me, but you were one of the few people on YT I watched that actually got me into reloading. Fast forward a few years and now I run a small munitions factory :) Thank you, my friend. Without your influence I probably wouldn't get into reloading and subsequently into owning a small munitions plant.
Haven't reloaded in 20 years, but this is how I do it on my own single stage Rockchucker. The attention to detail should not be overlooked. I've had friends who got overconfident reloading and started doing it while drinking a couple of beers. That lead to empty charges with the bullet being lodged part way into the barrel, or double charged cases resulting in explosions that ruined a gun and almost ruined some eyes. Good job explaining the details.
A great tutorial with a great explanation and the process explained step by step even giving the alternative approach to doing the same thing by saving time like 1 load for belling and seating primer or as described near the end the bullet seating and crimping in one go. Excellent work, and guys please don't go looking for what's wrong, you don't have the patience, time, equipment or intent of doing this, please appreciate the person who has made an effort and it is quite an effort to put this together and up here. Don't feel bad about the hater's jiu-jitsu, they are mad that they can't do it. I wish I could get a chance to do this in this life but it can happen only by going out of India to a country that allows this. Great work man! Thanks a lot.
I’m new to reloading and the amount of videos on this process can become overwhelming. Yours is the best I’ve seen for anyone starting out. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
Well i just got my first 100 rounds loaded. I watched your video as i was doing them. Step by step. They came out great and i will be testing them at the range next week. Can’t wait to see how they work. Thanks.
Well done. This is the second video of yours I have watched and I believe your videos are the best I have seen. You are the most thorough teacher I have encountered since my college days. You take the time to describe what you are doing completely and then you visually demonstrate and often demonstrate again. Excellent work. I'm sure there are many questions that might come up as I'm doing my own first batch but I feel you have already answered most questions I might have while going through the process of doing it in the video. Seriously, This video was top notch and you are a much better teacher than most of the college professors I had in college. I think if they had been as thorough and taken the time to demonstrate every step of the process as you did I might have had a better GPA and stayed more attentive. Well, the main distraction was all the beautiful girls, I was 19 or 20 and my hormones were very active. So, you couldn't have helped with that distraction. 😊 Anyway, This was an excellent video. I look forward to seeing what other videos you have. Thanks for your hard work in putting this together.
Yes we can see the powder. Boy do I appreciate this video!! MY ex would never teach me this so now I have to get my equip and do learn myself. You have taken my fear away. Left is respect with care.
Have been thinking about getting into reloading, came upon your video and cannot say enough about how informative yours is, simple instructions and very step by step, thanx alot.
Great video brother. Very thorough, very specific, and more importantly, you've made it understandable to the layman. I'm a bit of a gun nut, spend a lot of time on my range, with all my guns; but have been nervous to use reloads over the years. I understand that some guns just don't like them, but learning which of your guns will or won't, is easy enough to learn. I've been juggling the idea of reloading, for a few months; just for the potential therapeutic value alone, has pushed me closer to going through with it. I appreciate this video, thank you.
If you had actually payed any attention during the video, youd understand that any gun in the world can take a reload if you follow the manual, and make sure all measurements are within tolerances.
I got stuck at seating the bullet a couple of years ago and gave up. Now I'm going to try again because of this video. I believe it will be a God send. Thank you!
Best reloading explanation videos for us new to reloading pistol & rifle rounds that ive found on RUclips. Ive only reloaded shotgun shells before. I subscribed.
I used to reload everything on a Partner Press, myself. After becoming single again, I had good free time to pursue fun things like this...and to get my pilot's license. Good times.
Good day my name is Uynes Gysman and I am from South Africa I watch your video reloading the 9mm i must tell you I am a reloader myself for over 30 years and to me you are the best to expain how to a reloading session ive seen many many reloading videos on RUclips but does not come near you keep up the good work from afellow reloader of South Africa from Uynes Gysman Best Regards to you and your family
I have been reloading off and on for 3 years now, and I tell ya this video was worth watching. I have a lock and load AP but I tell ya it is unnerving sometimes about powder charges, I,m finding it better to do single stage loading and yes please take time to watch powder levels. I actually am so particular I actually took one position on the AP press and put a powder cop there. I rather not have a primer over not enough powder or to much powder.
I’ve got an AP as well, Check your powder throws multiple times (I do 10) before starting the reloading process, as well as a random test every X number of rounds. I’ve gotten really consistent measures.
Bro I really appreciate this super thorough video. I plan on reloading some 9m . A few years ago I reloaded some 40m it was the first time reloading and haven’t reloaded anything since so this refresher video is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks much!
I'm just getting into reloading and have watched a lot of the manufactures videos and others and this is by far my favorite. Plain speak, not trying to sell me anything. Well done. Thanks
I have watched several videos on learning to reload and I seem to come back to this one often. I am trying to watch and read as much as possible before I start loading. Just purchased my Lee Breech Lock Challenger and can't wait to set it up and get started. Thank you so much for a very instructive video.
Just a suggestion regarding the case flaring die adjustment. I don't know what the Lee instructions are, but my RCBS and Redding dies instructions have you set a case in the shell holder and raise the ram to the highest point, and then screw the die in until it makes contact with the mouth of the case. Probably the same you are doing, just seems that having the case in the shell holder gets you to the ballpark sooner. Just my .02
Dude, thanks for this video My timing in getting into reloading is not great, we're 5 months in with the COVID-19, and all ammo supplies are running dry, and or prices have been driven to an all time high.
Excellent video! Highly thorough. Question: Is flash-hole de-burring a MUST for .223? I've seen your .223 videos but didn't notice that step take place.
I have not reloaded for over 30 years now. But the other day I decided to dig out my equipment, found almost all of it, the pan of my scale can not be located, but I did find a favorite knife that has been missing almost as long. I am so glad I come across your channel. Needless to say I am a bit rusty. Thank for going from point to every point and different ways that are possible. I probably will be coming back for pointers. Thanks so much.
Awsome! This video should have a yellow cover - 9mm Luger reloading for dummies ;) All steps very very good explained for a novice wannabe-reloader who are scavenging youtube for reloading videos :) Big thumbs up from me.
I am looking at getting into reloading and I came across your channel. You do an amazing job explaining the requirements and the process you go thru. Your teaching style is awesome, you are so complete and concise with your explanations. I have learned so much and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for the time and dedication you put into your channel. You do an amazing job!
Just getting into reloading 9mm, reloading anything actually. Hands down the very best reloading video on RUclips. Nobody else even comes close to the detailed info you provide. Thanks for taking the extra time. Greatly appreciated.
Wonderful video. I reloaded years ago, but have forgot much of the process, and this video not only brought it back to me, but pointed out other steps and checks I never did. Thank you.
Another great vid. You R really helping me decide on how to set up my reloading station. And which press to go with. Keep up the great vids. Your pal, Al D.

Well done , good tips, easy to follow step by step.I ‘ll be using this over and over till I get it memorized , thanks!
Regarding a set of dies; what is the best for 9mm? Brand and model? Thanks guys.
I've been reloading since 1967. This is the best video I've seen. Recommending this to the new guys wanting to get started.
I'm a new hand loader..watched this video before before I started..have loaded 1k rnds 9mm now..all cycled fine.. Thanks
Excellent, thank you
I’m a new reloader and I keep this video in my favorites.
I know this video is 3 years old, however this is the best reloading video I have seen. Great work, thank you!
Can confirm. As a beginner, I found it a very in depth and thorough informational video.
I agree he is a hell of a teacher
Agreed!

Same here, been searching for reloading videos. This one clarified alot for me. Thank you!
This man is very knowledgeable of doing all the steps and all the process of doing reloading bullets !! Thank you Sir I really enjoyed your video !! 5 stars !!
As a beginner gathering all the stuff to reload I’ve got to say this video is awesome. Lots of information and step by step.
Thank you! Blessings from Arizona!!
Thank you for those very kind words.i work very hard on my videos. Blessings from Arizona!
@@jiujitsu2000 Thank You, and it shows it is hard work. God Bless and keep up the hard work. Blessings from Utah.
Best reloading video ever
Best comment ever!
Seabees can do
Excellent comment thank you for your service I'm also ex-navy blessings from Arizona my friend
@@jiujitsu2000 I noticed that at the beginning and the Seals hat. Im Seabee
I'm 76 been reloading for decades. Always learn something. Best video ever.
Far and away the best video I've seen on youtube about reloading for a novice.
That was an hour twenty-five minutes long, and it went by so fast I thought it was only a 30 minute video. Very well done video.
wake me up when he get's started.
Very well done!!
For us just starting out I was highly impressed with the time and steps.
The measure of detail and safety was appreciated.

Guns aren't even allowed in my country and still this was a really interesting video!
The question is WHY don’t you have a handgun?

Excellent presentation. I've been reloading for years. I watched the video to learn how to seat the bullets and set the crimp with my new lee loader dies. they are slightly different than my other dies. The video was exactly what i needed. Thank you in Idaho. You are a natural teacher.
I’m super late to this party but just have to also tell you this is the best pistol reloading video I have every seen!! Thank you for your work and effort in producing this video.
Thank you
After watching this video anyone should have the confidence to load ammo. He takes every aspect of the individual components and explains very well. Great video.
This video is amazing...best video out there for reloading. It was like I was sitting in the shop with a family member teaching me...Thank you Sir!
This is an excellent comment thank you so much for the very kind words and support that you've given me
New to reloading and have viewed at least 20 RUclips videos on reloading. Yours is among the very best - giving the reasons for each step was very helpful. Thanks!
I want to reiterate what an excellent teacher you are. Many of us learn easier by watching the process. And I’m learning a lot from you. You make it look easy and even sort of fun! And you’re very thorough !!
Thank you!
I've watched other Reloading videos to see if it would be a doable process for me. I was lost on all of them EXCEPT for this video. This is well explained. Thanks!
Mahalo, this was very thorough and educational. Appreciate your step by step process and the "why" you double check or separate steps. Thanks again.
JIU, you won't believe me, but you were one of the few people on YT I watched that actually got me into reloading. Fast forward a few years and now I run a small munitions factory :) Thank you, my friend. Without your influence I probably wouldn't get into reloading and subsequently into owning a small munitions plant.
This is the most complete tutorial i've ever seen. Thank you
Ive watched this video a couple of times already and just now noticed the design on your hat. 😉 Cool!!!!
This is still the best reloading video on the internet.
Thank you!!

Thanks.
How did they turn out? Ive recently decided to try out reloading.
Best video I've watched so far for this newbee. Well explained, easily followed and a kind voice with no foul language. Thankyou!
I have been handloading for a few years and I can tell that you are doing every step as i would do them. Keep up the good work!
Awesome! Thank you!
VERY WELL EXPLAINED SIR. I DONT LOAD BUT I LEARNED SOMETHING ABOUT RELOADING. THANK YOU.
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
This video was just TERIFFIC!
For someone who might want to get into reloading.
Thanks so much.
Free Class on how to reload 9mm Lugers. This guy is a HERO. He could have sold this as an instructional video on Amazon or something.

Good times.
This is Very Good Info. It's been 40 years since I have reloaded, I appreciate the Refresher Course. Thanks. Gary.

Well done. Thanks
This is the only reloading video I've seen that actually shows what the steps look like. Thanks!
Just my .02
This video answered so many questions I had about reloading. Your time was not wasted! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Dude, thanks for this video
My timing in getting into reloading is not great, we're 5 months in with the COVID-19, and all ammo supplies are running dry, and or prices have been driven to an all time high.
