the radio part is very true. I can’t hear my exhaust leak when I turn the radio all the way up while singing with Zach Bryan and all the problems go away
Don't forget that the cabin of the truck in the cab and the truck bed moves they're not fixed imposition. Therefore there has to be some sort of flexible connection between the cabin and the Pauper in the back

I know this comment is 2 years old, but if you are able to, swap it for a 3.0! Just need a bellhousing and ecu and you’re fully set. Gives you a boost of almost 50 hp and even though that’s not much for an engine swap it’s half of what the 2.3 has
7:40 your struts on your canopy could def to be replaced lol,, you can literally pop them off with a screwdriver, i got a whole brand new set from a junkyard for free because they were gonna trash the canopy anyway, it’s not a need to fix but definitely a nice one :)
Great video bro!! I am looking into getting a 2004 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 in great condition with only 68,000 miles on it. It only had one owner and I'm curious if buying a 20-year-old car is worth it?
Not all 20 year old cars are worth it, but a ranger is lifestyle and they never go out of style. So I'd say its gonna serve you well for a long time if you decided to buy it.
Just leveled my truck for 3375, started with new coils for 100$, but then needed this, then that, then this, now 3.3g later i need to wait 3 weeks for an axle drop bracket to correct the camber issue (truck cannot be aligned) becareful throwing mods in.
Im in high school working towards finishing up my driver's license, would you recommend the automatic or manual version of the Ranger as a first car? I've driven only automatics but im worried I'll miss out on driving a stick, but maybe not. Anyways sick video!
I drive a 2010 ranger 5 speed manual. I commute a total of 84km (52 miles) a day for work in Toronto rush hour highway traffic (roughly 1h each way). I love it. But I’ve only ever had stick shift cars since I got my license (91 mustang, 2000 civic, 2008 lancer, 2010 ranger). I really love stick shift, but with my commute, I also enjoy the days when I take my wife’s automatic to work. I’d say learn stick shift. You won’t regret it, and as a bonus, if you’re a car guy you’ll appreciate that nobody else will be able to drive your vehicle.

I am 15 and I have a 1993 ford ranger xlt 2wd and it was my dads truck but gave it to me and fell in love with the truck we took the engine out and working on it like new spark plugs and wires, water pump and timing belt I can go on there is a lot but after I am done with I love to get outside kit and I do the inside too but it’s good truck my dad had it since I was like 8 so yeah lol
"When your girlfriend is yellin at you and you crack open a beer, you know the noise is still there, and it's still comin, but you just care less"
Best ad I’ve seen haha
Hahaha so glad you enjoyed it.
Just picked up my first ranger yesterday!
Nice! Congrats!
I just picked mine up 3 days ago 2003 Edge 3.0 5 speed rwd :)
This was neat. Thank you Doug.
You're welcome, thank you for being here and watching.
Great video! I love the wheels and I’m trying to find where to find a decent pair. Where did you get yours
I would recommend this setup, the links for the wheels and tires are in my "How BIG OF TIRES can you fit with NO LIFT" video. Thanks for watching.
amzn.to/3Xzr9ve Here is the link.
just got a 2011 ford ranger today very excited !!
I was the 1000th subscriber. You're welcome.
You the best! Much love.
Yes , and his Dad thanks you as well!!
the radio part is very true. I can’t hear my exhaust leak when I turn the radio all the way up while singing with Zach Bryan and all the problems go away
Just pulled my 01 out the stable little seafoam and fuel pump after 7 years sitting and it runs like a brand new one
All I want is a way to go from the cab to the bed... with a wider opening... any ideas.
LOL I feel ya. Cut a hole? or remove the window and seal up between the cab and the topper.
Don't forget that the cabin of the truck in the cab and the truck bed moves they're not fixed imposition. Therefore there has to be some sort of flexible connection between the cabin and the Pauper in the back
I like your truck I have a same one 98 3.0 on my channel just need the wheels and tires to see same whit this
Thanks man. Wheels are tires can really change the whole look of a truck. Keep turning wrenches my man. Thanks for watching.
Three years later I’ve happily done it with Doug
The comeback is coming, dont you worry. Im not done with you lol ;)
Check out the dual media player radio . It fits perfectly in the radio spot
Dope! Thanks for the links brotha
You can get windshield wipers for two or three dollars at Walmart! In the automotive department! They come in a white box labeled windshield wipers!
Helpful tip, thanks for sharing!
i use the sony xav1000 head unit and put a rear view camera in mine. even with the dash kit it does kinda look "shoved in there" but it's not that bad. lmk if you want a pic.
Ya! lets see it!
@@DoinitwithDoug ok, shit i might just do a full ranger mod video too just like u did
@@gsuite5011 100% should do that
bro I love your truck looks cool
Not sure if you're still looking at comments, but I have the email address of someone I bought Explorer coilover brackets from just a month or so ago. He should still be making them i assume and they should be the same for Tbar Rangers.
I found a company that makes them, I think ill order it from them only because a buddy of mine works there. Trying to support a local business. Thanks for the update buddy.
What company had these available?
Just got a 1997 ford ranger with only 83,000 miles on it for 1700, no problems with it just a couple lil dents ima fix. I think I got an absolute sleeper, can’t wait to start freshening it up been seeing online about how reliable this damm truck is and how many mods can be added. First truck 2 so hope it treats me well 🫡. 2025 Oct 15 5:00pm est time ima come back and give a update on it stay tuned 🕺🏼
dude i love your videos man!
You're the man Thomas! Thanks for being here man.
now thats a beautiful drive
holy hell i thought this was montana, you’re in michigan?! must be in the UP
No, this was in colorado. I am in michigan now.
Got a 99 Ford ranger xlt a couple mouths ago and love it
Gas struts for your truck cap are like $20, and super easy to swap out 😂
Walmart has touch screen units that almost fit but I had to cut a smidge then it fit in perfect.
can you tell me the sizes and the brand of your rims please..!
I have a whole walkthrough on my truck giving all those details. Check her out. Thanks for watching.
Did you do anything to the intirior seats I didn’t know you could get leather with button controls.
They are out of a 2001 explorer
My name is Doug and I also own a Ranger! A 2003 Ranger Edge. And mine is lifted on big tires too! Im curious to know what front Bumper you have on yours.
And a radio and speaker upgrade was the very first "mod" I did to my truck when I bought mine all the way back in 2008.
@doinitwithdoug where did you get the camper shell? Or what brand is it? Thank you
It is a centrury topper. It was on the truck when I bought it.
ive always wanted a Ranger. but a old model. probably a 95-04. also was thinking on making it Dune style, but i rather keep it like yours. since i go often to mountains and camping
The prerunner style is cool but more of a 2wd thing.
Thank you for the video I just inherited a 1993 four cylinder ranger she’s slower than molasses……so far I have just a full tune up like alll the fluids and plugs and some gaskets….. and installed a super coil kit…..it helped but still really slow yes I know it’s the puppy engine but I know there are some parts that can help benefit it
Did ya keep the coils on the back?
I know this comment is 2 years old, but if you are able to, swap it for a 3.0! Just need a bellhousing and ecu and you’re fully set. Gives you a boost of almost 50 hp and even though that’s not much for an engine swap it’s half of what the 2.3 has
What rims and tires are you running and what's the brand of that front bumper?
7:40 your struts on your canopy could def to be replaced lol,, you can literally pop them off with a screwdriver, i got a whole brand new set from a junkyard for free because they were gonna trash the canopy anyway, it’s not a need to fix but definitely a nice one :)
Yeah, ive since done that. They are 12 bucks at autozone too.
You’re lucky you got the 4x4 I’m stuck with the RWD
Sorry bud.
I want to know where did u get the front bumper dawg!!!!!
I got a 97 ford ranger how to lift the front 2 inches thanks
Thank you for the suggestion. I can do a video on that.
Excuse me I have the 2wd, 5spd manual sport model, will the wiper blades and floor mats still work with this trim level?
Just pick up a clean 89
Look up Sony they have a nice head unit, touchscreen. I’m getting mines installed next month
I defiantly will have to. Thank you!
awesome man. ur lucky u have those tires, i can't get much traction w my h/t tires
They arent snow tires for sure, but still not bad. I actually feel like they are more of an all terrain.
got a Ol'2011 sport. great vid - the drive at the end was God's Country Sir
Sure is pal! Thanks for watching!
where is that bull bar from?
Amazon, if you look in the description of the walkthrough video I have a link for it. Thanks :)
I just shared this to ford ranger nation on Facebook!
Woah! Thank you!
Keep it going man!!
Nice truck what size tires are you running ?
Just got my first 99 ranger for 3k just over 100k miles and pretty excited to fix her up
Thats awesome. Hard to find with lower miles.
Intro got me. Subbed
Ayye oh! :)
