    Zote is 98 cents per bar at Walmart I make this but in the powder version and I use several bars in my powder version it will not fade your clothes if you used it alone and dumped half the graded bar in your machine zote is a brighter and also Repels Mosquitoes and other Pesky outdoor bugs!! I’ve used the liquid version but for some reason it didn’t clean as well as the powdered version. I make mine with a food processor so it’s really fine just like laundry powder if not even finer than store bought powder and can be used in any HE machine top or front loader if you make the powder version you only need 2 to 3 table spoons per load so if you are only using that small amount per load you can use your front loader drawer but I just recommend throwing whatever amount you chose to use if your heavy handed like me to just throw it in the drum and add clothes I have a Samsung HE large capacity top loader so I do use more than 2 or 3 table spoons on extra heavy soiled loads I use half cup to 1 cup and my clothes come out smelling amazing and never faded doesn’t fade my black clothing either but here is what I put in my powdered version and it’s a huge batch when I make it honey it enough for a year for a family of 5 at half a cup to a cup per load every load I store it in a 35 gallon tote with locking lid and it’s completely full to the rim when I’m finished making it and I’m here to tell ya nothing in any store cleans better it removes blood stains grass stains chocolate stains that have set up for a few days that’s really what I love about my version of laundry powder it’s so strong I know whatever stains are on the clothes I don’t have to run and soak it then wash it immediately cuz my stuff gonna get it out on the first wash every time days later lol 😂 but this is just my opinion your really Diluting your liquid version down to hardly any cleaning power it’s practically water with a dab of soap give it a try with less water I promise you’ll see a huge difference cleaning wise and the smell of your laundry will be alittle stronger and it smells fabulous but with that much water your not gonna get much if any smell at all unless that’s what you like than that’s understandable!! But anywho this is what I put in mine 8 bars of zote graded in the food processor I use washing soda to help break it down in the food processor it should grade into a powder after you’ve done all the zote I also add fels naptha they are also 98 cents per bar much smaller in size tho but it’s actually made by purex and it’s a stain remover laundry bar I grate about 10 of those the same way with washing soda until it’s all a thin powder dump all your soaps in your large tote and slowly mix all the next ingredients alittle at a time so
    It’s all Incorporated no Particular order is needed with all that soap you’ve grated you’ll probably use close 2 to 3 full boxes of arm and hammer washing soda not baking soda so whatever you have left of your washing soda if any throw that in the tote then I slowly add 4 boxes of borax mixing as I go I also add arm and hammer baking soda 4 boxes of the 4 pound boxes 1 large box of 200 loads of oxy clean Oder blaster it smells amazing 4 boxes of Purex color safe bleach I believe they are 2 and a half pound boxes 8 pound bag of Roma it’s the biggest bag in Walmart beside the zote the biggest bag of foco 2 large bags of Ariel plus downy 2 large bags of pinol it’s in a purple bag smells like lavender omg all this mixed to perfection is top notch laundry powder the smell is unbelievable it’s so good you can add scent beads if you like of course I do lol I love love the downy romantic scent beads 2 large containers of that 2 large containers of downy bliss and 2 large size unstoppables in fresh mixed all in and people gonna be asking what perfume are you wearing you smell fabulous all the time on a daily basis I have to tell people it’s not perfume it is my clothes then they go crazy asking what I use it smells expensive and fabulous it does cost a bit up front but no where near what I would spend on a large box of tide once a week then using the scent beads fabric softeners I spend about 100 on everything maybe alittle less but that’s it for over a year and you smell amazing all year you can’t beat it!! It’s worth the upfront cost to have very clean clothes that smell amazing weeks months after a wash and still in the dresser or closet hell if you sweat on a hot day you smell even better lmao 🤣 I just absolutely love my powdered version I’ve gave out samples to family and friends who all now make there own bcuz they loved it as well!! But great video please try it using less water for cleaner and fresher smelling laundry you’ll notice a huge difference maybe only add half of the water your using in your gallon jug and fill it the rest of the way with your soap I bet you’ll love the results! ❤️

      That is a great question. If you cut your bar in 4 parts then you would use 1 piece or 1/4 of the bar to mix with 11/4 gallon of HOT water. (Let sit until dissolved & thick)
      But then you would still have to mix that with half water to use in washer.
      1 cup of soap mix per load.(You can probably tell that I am trying to figure this out as I am writing) 🤪🤣 oh boy I hope this helps and doesn't really confuse you.

      You obviously don’t understand chemistry. The problem is that soaps react with hard water minerals to deposit scum. That’s what clogs bathroom tub drains. Soap scum and hair. Scum clogs washers too, especially expensive modern washers that use smaller amounts of cold water. This kind of thinking totally escapes DIY enthusiasts who think that if granny used soap it must be fine for me. These are not smart people. Granny used hot water, lots of force on a scrub board, and thorough rinsing to get the soap and dirt out. HE washers work with detergents formulated for them which allow use of cold water, mild agitation and less rinse water.

    • @bluefeatherhomestead
      @bluefeatherhomestead  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! Well, I say yes, but I pour my vinegar in after the water has filled up the washer. I don't mix it in with the soap container. (I went back to an older machine & never been happier) some new washers lock when you start load, so you may not be able to do that. 😪 I googled the question, and it says that vinegar is acidic, which makes it a good cleaner, but when you mix it with soap, it neutralizes it, which defeats the purpose. I add vinegar as for a fabric softener. Soooooo.... idk. I hope this helps, but now it has me wondering and may do some more studying on it.

    How much soap from the final gallon for an HE washer?

    • @bluefeatherhomestead
      @bluefeatherhomestead  Год назад +2

      I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but I use a cup of soap mix per load. My HE washer was bigger, so I would add about 1 cup & 1/2 of soap.

      Absolutely. I use this on mine and kids clothes mostly. I use the fels-naptha powder in hot water for husbands work clothes these days. I change it up. They clean great & smell clean. Have a great wknd my friend. ~Sammie

      Great question. I have always heard and read that you must dissolve it in hot water before washing. I think this was originally a soap for hand washing clothes. I do use fels-naptha in a dry detergent though.

    The Bar soaps for washing clothes, were for using with a Washing Board 🧼

    • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
      @FrankGutowski-ls8jt Год назад

      Correct. No modern washer is designed to use soap, which requires hot water, vigorous agitation and thorough rinsing. Note that she doesn’t include a water softener, thereby ensuring that her laundry becomes thoroughly coated with soap scum, making it dingy, smelly, and water repellent.
