Thank you, thank you, thank you Bishop Barron, I pray the rosary daily with a friend and it's as Important to us as the food we eat we also pray psalms 4, 90, 133 . In the morning read small piece of gospel and say saint Patrick's breastplate prayer which I got from an abbey retreat many years ago. With going to mass and confession these are what keep me calm and sane in these times of such hostility to all that is truth and good. Yes Mother Mary is truly our Mother. When I was so depressed and wanted to end my life, for some grace given to me, I thought then there was no other way but to go back to Christ, so I prayed 1 Hail Mary and felt a sudden feeling of lightness that started from my foot travelling up to my head. Immediately after finishing the Hail Mary prayer.... it started raining so hard outside, like pouring rain accompanied by defeaning thunders, like where I was.... it felt shaking because of the thunders. I thought then God was really mad at my sinfulness and Mary begged God for mercy on my behalf. From then on I started going back to mass. I cried on my first mass after 3 years of not going to church, yes 3 years of avoiding anything that had to do with church and God. 3 years of blaming God for everything that was bad in my life.. My first Mass was so meaningful and beautiful. It became so clear to me that the Mass was indeed full of adoration and worship to God who created the universe. The words said by the priest and the people were so beautiful that I cried and cried until the end of the mass.

My sister in Christ, I disagree with your comments. When the soldiers mock Our Lord, Mathew tells us they say "hail, king of the Jews." A clear reference to it's royal connotations, as in hail Caesar. When the Archangel gives the good news to Mary, he tells her that her son will sit on the throne of his father David. The angel is speaking typologically, as David's earthly throne was an O.T type of God's kingdom in heaven and Jesus tells us his kingdom is not of this worlld.In the Davidic kingdom the king's mother was always the queen and not one of his wives. If you go revelations 12 you will see the one who gives birth to Christ wearing a crown in heaven. Also when Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit no less, greets Mary she says, "who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me." Elizabeth being a most pious Jewess would only call God her Lord. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man . His divinity can't be separated from his humanity. He's God and human forever. I honestly was just reading Revelation 12 and got a completely different view. The woman represents Israel and the stars are for each tribe. Its deep but the latter part of the chapter doesn't line with up with Mary. Ezekiel 16 refers to Israel as the Adulterous Wife. I think this vision has to do with Satan being enemies with the Jews. I dont see it as glorifying Mary whatsoever. I come in peace by the way.
Why would John be having a vision of a battle between Israel and the Dragon when the whole point of the New Testament is something new i.e. the baby Jesus and His Mother Mary. If you don't believe in Christianity then why bother with the New Testament? If you do believe in Christianity then you know that Jesus came to save people from the Devil, so of course the Devil hates Jesus and His Mother most, because only they had/ have the power to save souls from perdition.

The 'Woman' in Revelelation 12 is certainly NOT Jesus earthly mother. Rev1;1 explains that the revelelation was given in 'signs' The chapter also speaks of a 'dragon' & the interaction between the two. All bible scholars will agree the 'dragon' is symbolic . So also is the 'woman'. Try as one may there is no teaching to venerate Mary in the Gospels or the epistles. Not till 499AD ( council of Ephesus ) was this so. Like many roman state controlled church teaching they are all of pagan not christian origin

She is Israel because she is associated with the sun, the moon, and twelve stars. These symbols are drawn from Genesis 37:9-11, in which the patriarch Joseph has a dream of the sun and moon (symbolizing his father and mother) and stars (representing his brothers), which bow down to him. Taken together, the sun, moon, and twelve stars symbolize the people of Israel. The Woman is the Church because, as 12:17 tells us, “the rest of her offspring” are those who bear witness to Jesus, making them Christians. The Woman is Eve because she is part of the three-way conflict also involving her Seed and the Dragon, who is identified with the ancient serpent (the one from Eden) in 20:2. This mirrors the conflict in Genesis 3:15 between Eve, the serpent, and her unborn seed-which in turn is a symbol of the conflict between Mary, Satan, and Jesus. Finally, the Woman is Mary because she is the mother of Jesus, the child who will rule the nations with a rod of iron (19:11-16). Because the Woman is a four-way symbol, different aspects of the narrative apply to different referents. Like Mary, she is pictured as being in heaven and she flies (mirroring Mary’s Assumption). Very cool theology and homily. But Mary isn’t our Savior, Jesus is. Mary is not co-demptrix, she’s a partaker. She is the theotokos but that’s to define the humanity of Christ not to elevate Mary to another level. Mary was born with a sinful nature in need of a savior and by Gods grace she was a chosen vessel to birth our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Praying and worshiping Mary is not biblical. 1 Corinthians 1:29 says,"That no flesh shall glory in His presence." We need only to worship and pray to God and not to any flesh. That is what God is saying to us. We must line up to the clear teachings of the Word of God. There are many deception of the devil that people are not even aware of.
Jews were venerating Moses - Hebrew 3,3. And the Bible is full of the calls to venerate people: kings, priests, Aaraon, Moses, doctors, parents, other Christians, those who deserve it and so on. Worshipping is the adoration, only for God. Praying is reaching out to God directly or with His saints, who are alive in God. It's not worshipping. Veneration is for God's servants who already participate in His nature. We don't give them divine glory. Besides, the Early Church didn't have the New Testament - only a letters but not at once and not everyone had it. So there was a tradition of the apostoles, they call us to obey it as well, in 2 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians. And there were Church's Fathers writings and all this very clearly speaks about Mary as the ever Virgin, the New Eve, the woman without sin, God's bearer. And the Bible confirms that.

But like many, falls for the lie that the mother of God's only Son should be forgotten about, as if she's dead. Christians believe that those who live in Christ have life everlasting; they're still alive after death. And what chance do we have if the woman chosen to be the mother of God didn't make it into Heaven? It only makes sense that if she's alive in Heaven, she's doing some kind of work to help others still on earth instead of knitting or sleeping. Yes Mother Mary is truly our Mother. When I was so depressed and wanted to end my life, for some grace given to me, I thought then there was no other way but to go back to Christ, so I prayed 1 Hail Mary and felt a sudden feeling of lightness that started from my foot travelling up to my head. Immediately after finishing the Hail Mary prayer.... it started raining so hard outside, like pouring rain accompanied by defeaning thunders, like where I was.... it felt shaking because of the thunders. I thought then God was really mad at my sinfulness and Mary begged God for mercy on my behalf. From then on I started going back to mass. I cried on my first mass after 3 years of not going to church, yes 3 years of avoiding anything that had to do with church and God. 3 years of blaming God for everything that was bad in my life.. My first Mass was so meaningful and beautiful. It became so clear to me that the Mass was indeed full of adoration and worship to God who created the universe. The words said by the priest and the people were so beautiful that I cried and cried until the end of the mass.

When the soldiers mock Our Lord, Mathew tells us they say "hail, king of the Jews." A clear reference to it's royal connotations, as in hail Caesar.
When the Archangel gives the good news to Mary, he tells her that her son will sit on the throne of his father David. The angel is speaking typologically, as David's earthly throne was an O.T type of God's kingdom in heaven and Jesus tells us his kingdom is not of this worlld.In the Davidic kingdom the king's mother was always the queen and not one of his wives. If you go revelations 12 you will see the one who gives birth to Christ wearing a crown in heaven.

I honestly was just reading Revelation 12 and got a completely different view. The woman represents Israel and the stars are for each tribe. Its deep but the latter part of the chapter doesn't line with up with Mary. Ezekiel 16 refers to Israel as the Adulterous Wife. I think this vision has to do with Satan being enemies with the Jews. I dont see it as glorifying Mary whatsoever. I come in peace by the way.

Why would John be having a vision of a battle between Israel and the Dragon when the whole point of the New Testament is something new i.e. the baby Jesus and His Mother Mary. The 'Woman' in Revelelation 12 is certainly NOT Jesus earthly mother. Rev1;1 explains that the revelelation was given in 'signs' The chapter also speaks of a 'dragon' & the interaction between the two. All bible scholars will agree the 'dragon' is symbolic . Revelation 12 is part of the fusion imagery/polyvalent symbolism that is found in the book. She has four referents: Israel, the Church, Eve, and Mary.
She is Israel because she is associated with the sun, the moon, and twelve stars. These symbols are drawn from Genesis 37:9-11, in which the patriarch Joseph has a dream of the sun and moon (symbolizing his father and mother) and stars (representing his brothers), which bow down to him. Taken together, the sun, moon, and twelve stars symbolize the people of Israel.
The Woman is the Church because, as 12:17 tells us, “the rest of her offspring” are those who bear witness to Jesus, making them Christians.
The Woman is Eve because she is part of the three-way conflict also involving her Seed and the Dragon, who is identified with the ancient serpent (the one from Eden) in 20:2. This mirrors the conflict in Genesis 3:15 between Eve, the serpent, and her unborn seed-which in turn is a symbol of the conflict between Mary, Satan, and Jesus.
Finally, the Woman is Mary because she is the mother of Jesus, the child who will rule the nations with a rod of iron (19:11-16).
Because the Woman is a four-way symbol, different aspects of the narrative apply to different referents. Like Mary, she is pictured as being in heaven and she flies (mirroring Mary’s Assumption). Like the Church, she is persecuted by the Devil after the Ascension of Christ. Like Israel, she experiences great trauma as the Messiah is brought forth (figuratively) from the nation. And like Eve, it is her (distant) seed with which the serpent has his primary conflict.
Conversely, portions of the narrative do not apply to each referent. Mary did not experience literal pain when bringing forth the Messiah, but she suffered figuratively (the prophecy that a sword would pierce her heart at the Crucifixion). Eve did not ascend to heaven. And the Church did not bring forth the Messiah (rather, the Messiah brought forth his Church).

Very cool theology and homily. But Mary isn’t our Savior, Jesus is. Mary is not co-demptrix, she’s a partaker. She is the theotokos but that’s to define the humanity of Christ not to elevate Mary to another level. Mary was born with a sinful nature in need of a savior and by Gods grace she was a chosen vessel to birth our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Praying and worshiping Mary is not biblical. 1 Corinthians 1:29 says,"That no flesh shall glory in His presence." We need only to worship and pray to God and not to any flesh. So there was a tradition of the apostoles, they call us to obey it as well, in 2 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians. And there were Church's Fathers writings and all this very clearly speaks about Mary as the ever Virgin, the New Eve, the woman without sin, God's bearer. And the Bible confirms that.

But like many, falls for the lie that the mother of God's only Son should be forgotten about, as if she's dead. Christians believe that those who live in Christ have life everlasting; they're still alive after death. And what chance do we have if the woman chosen to be the mother of God didn't make it into Heaven? It only makes sense that if she's alive in Heaven, she's doing some kind of work to help others still on earth instead of knitting or sleeping.

I read catholic version and protestant versions of Bible and later Interlinear (literal translation from Greek and Hebrew) and protestant Bible is closer to original. I read Bible in my language,not in english. Catholic Church was founded around 4th century. I advise you to read Interlinear Bible (you can do it in the internet)
