      Studying world religions is the best argument for Christianity! Once you see how clumsy and obviously man-made Islam is, it makes you appreciate how coherent Christianity is. It's hard to argue that Christianity is a giant conspiracy when all the other world religions are so obviously conspiracies

    A lot of us men don’t really find any sense of purpose in the modern world anymore. We’ve out grown the secular sex, drugs, and rock and roll and have been delegated to nothing more than an employee number.
    We’re find not only a higher purpose in life with in the Church, but we’re also finding that sense of peace that Jesus spoke of.

      It's also countercultural and fraternal. Men like to be a part of a brotherhood with a cause. Christianity became so much about "have a relationship with Jesus" and "just have faith" that it lost the revolutionary spirit and men turned to rebel causes (like drugs and sex, as you mention)
      But the wheels have turned and I think the church is reverting back to proper reverence. Men want a relationship with Jesus, but as a brother and King, not a generic friend

      Says who about what? That they are modernists? I don't decide that they proclaim it by their words and actions. Its very clear who this men are including Bishop Barron as he teaches doctrines already condemned by the Catholic Church.
      What's wrong with Vatican II? FAQs
      1. What is wrong with the Second Vatican Council?
      The Second Vatican Council taught doctrines which had been already condemned by the Church, and enacted disciplines which are contrary to the Church's teaching and constant practice.
      2. What doctrines did it teach which were already condemned?
      There are four major errors concerning: (1) the unity of the Church; (2) ecumenism; (3) religious liberty; (4) collegiality.
      3. What false doctrine does it teach concerning the unity of the Church?
      Vatican II teaches heresy concerning the unity of the Church, namely that the Church of Christ is not exclusively identified with the Catholic Church, but merely subsists in it. This heretical doctrine is contained principally in Lumen Gentium, and its heretical meaning is confirmed in statements of Paul VI and his successors, particularly in the 1983 Code of Canon Law, in the 1992 Statement concerning Church and Communion, and in the Ecumenical Directory.
      It is contrary to the teaching of the Catholic Church, contained principally in Satis Cognitum of Pope Leo XIII, Mortalium Animos of Pope Pius XI, Mystici Corporis of Pope Pius XII, and in the condemnations of the "Branch Theory" made by the Holy Office under Pope Pius IX.
      4. What false doctrine does it teach concerning ecumenism?
      The teaching of Vatican II concerning ecumenism, which states that non-Catholic religions are a "means of salvation," is overtly heretical. This doctrine directly contradicts the teaching of the Church that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church, called by Pope Pius IX "a most well-known Catholic dogma." In addition, the ecumenical practices which have resulted from this heretical doctrine are directly contrary to Mortalium Animos of Pope Pius XI.
      5. What false doctrine does it teach concerning religious liberty?
      The teaching of Vatican II on religious liberty, contained in Dignitatis Humanae, nearly word for word asserts the very doctrine which was condemned by Pope Pius VII in Post Tam Diuturnas, by Pope Gregory XVI in Mirari Vos, by Pope Pius IX in Quanta Cura, and by Pope Leo XIII in Libertas Praestantissimum. The teaching of Vatican II on religious liberty also contradicts the royalty of Jesus Christ in society as expressed in Quas Primas of Pope Pius XI, and the constant attitude and practice of the Church with regard to civil society.
      6. What false doctrine does it teach concerning collegiality?
      The teaching of Vatican II concerning collegiality alters the monarchical constitution of the Catholic Church, with which she was endowed by the Divine Savior. The doctrine of Vatican II, confirmed by the 1983 Code of Canon Law, which states that the subject (the possessor) of the supreme authority of the Church is the college of bishops together with the pope, is contrary to the defined doctrine of the Council of Florence and of Vatican I.
      7. What is wrong with the disciplines which have emanated from Vatican II?
      The 1983 Code of Canon Law contains the heresy of Vatican II concerning the Church, mentioned above. It also permits sacrilege to the Blessed Sacrament, by approving of its reception by non-Catholics, which is a mortal sin, and permits communicatio in sacris (common public worship) with non-Catholics, which is a mortal sin. In addition, the Ecumenical Directory of 1993 permits ecumenical practices which have always been taught by the Church to be mortally sinful.
      8. What does all this mean?
      It means that Vatican II and its subsequent reforms have given us a new religion, a religion which is substantially different from the Roman Catholic Faith founded by Christ.
      The reformers have substantially altered the three main components of religion: doctrine, worship, and discipline. The result is that the reformers are promoting a religion of ecumenism in place of the Roman Catholic religion, which has always taught that it alone is the one, true Faith, and that all other religions are false. The Vatican II religion teaches doctrines which have been condemned by the Church in the past. It has instituted rites and disciplines which are Protestant in nature.
      As a result, the religion which Catholics find in their local parishes and schools, although in name Catholic, is a new, non-Catholic religion already condemned by the Catholic Church.
      9. Could it be that you are merely giving a bad interpretation to Vatican II?
      No. The heretical nature of this council is confirmed by:
      the doctrinal interpretation given to Vatican II by Paul VI and his successors in their decrees, encyclicals, catechisms, etc.;
      the series of abominations perpetrated by John Paul II against the First Commandment of God, in the form of ecumenical ceremonies which constitute false worship, even to pagan deities in some cases;
      the alteration of the Sacred Liturgy in such a way that the Catholic Mass has been replaced by a Protestant supper service;
      the tampering with the matter and form of the sacraments so that many of them, but most notably the Holy Eucharist and Holy Orders, labor under doubt or invalidity;
      the promulgation of disciplines, especially the 1983 Code of Canon Law and the Ecumenical Directory, which approve of sacrilege against the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Matrimony, and which demonstrate heresies concerning the unity of the Church as their theoretical basis;
      the scandalous mockery made of the Sacrament of Matrimony by the granting of annulments for spurious reasons, constituting an abandonment of the sacred doctrine of the indissolubility of marriage;
      the fact that John Paul II is in communion with manifest heretics, has openly declared himself to be in communion with non-Catholic sects, and has recognized an apostolic mission in schismatic and Lutheran bishops, all of which destroys the unity of faith. He has even kissed the Koran, which explicitly denies the Incarnation and the Trinity. He has also publicly prayed that St. John the

    What a wonderful episode. What jumped out to me was the description of the church in Africa as a supernatural church. Something that has been lost in the west. I have long felt that this is an impact of the change to the Novus Ordo mass. The old Latin mass had that sense of mystery. This has been lost in the new mass. Put differently, it has become familiar; and we all know what that breads.

I have noticed the Church has Changed a LOT since I used to Go in the Sense that it Feels More Reverent Now. People are kneeling to receive Christ in the Eucharist, Women are wearing Veils, Men Dressing up in Suites. People seem to be showing their Love For Christ in a way that feels more authentic then it did over 15 years ago.

      God bless You and Yours. I would shera this with You : By the will of Christ, the Catholic Church is, in fact, mistress of truth: its function is to authentically express and teach the Truth which is Christ [...] the disciple is bound towards Christ Master TO THE DUTY TO KNOW EVER MORE FULLY THE TRUTH THAT HE RECEIVED FROM HIM, to announce it faithfully and to defend it energetically while refraining from any means contrary to the Spirit of the Gospel. (Extract from the book “365 Days of Hope” by Cardinal Nguyen Van Thuan who spent 13 years in jail in hard conditions, bacause his faith)

    Most Reverend Bishop,
    I've been a faithful follower of your, shows, interviews, sermons, etc. from the very first day on of World in Fire.
    You were still rector of Mundeleine Seminary, when I had the privilege to take part in a symposium on St. Pope John Paul II.
    I'm a religious priest from Austria. The pivital task of our order is that of parish ministry. Having been a pastor for 16 years, and involved in parish ministry I had become superfluous as a parish priest, when my parish got merged with three other parishes. And no other assignment had been given to me.
    They talk about shortage of priests. I find that kind of talk out of place. Every time I listen to you, or to Father Mike Schmitz, or Father Bernhard Mark, and other priests of that category from your country, I become jealous..We are not supposed to preach like that over here. What made me most jelaous was and is the still going on Eucharidtic Rivival in den Church of the US. With great aw did I watch the Eucharistic procession in Indianapolis. The section in the march of the seminarians, and the applauding people was just breathtaking - only wstching it.
    And now in this interview you tell us listeners that the is a new outbreak in Christianity - Catholicism.
    I only experience decline, and indifference. And I don't know if that German Synodal Path, that has swapped over to Austria with great acknowledgement among many of the priests, even into the episcopacy, can trigger any sort of a rivival of the Catholic Faith.
    God bless you

    As a 29 year old man who was an atheist but was just confirmed this past Easter, I can say I came to the church for a source of structure, community, and ultimate truth. Every day our society becomes more and more fractured and chaotic. Putting my trust in God as the ultimate source of truth and conforming myself to Jesus to share in his divinity has been the best decision of my entire life.

      Your comment is very touching. And you are right: the world is going a little more towards chaos every day. All over the world. Please continue on your path of discovery of the GOSPEL, the CHURCH and the person of Jesus Christ, within your parish. Let us change our heart to conform it a little more each day with the person of Jesus. In this chaotic world, let us live a little more Faith, Hope and charity/love every day. I myself rediscovered my Catholic faith 8 years ago. And I changed a lot of things in my life and in myself. I changed my view of the world. Read the Gospel and other pious books. Pray every day, for yourself, for your loved ones, for your country and for peace in the world. May God bless you and your loved ones.

Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who are faithless without cause will be disgraced. Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You. Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.

    Speaking as a woman who enjoys rigorous intellectual discussions about her faith, I will share with you this: saying 'feminization' of religion' that 'took away the hard edges' and the intellectual rigor, is EXACTLY what has turned off so many women to the faith. Why? Because 1) it utterly denies that women are as intellectually rigorous as men which leads to 2) an abundance of men talking specifically to men (Peterson and Pageau are pretty up front in their men's club mindset) which excludes women from these deep dialogues and 3) leaves us women with a glut of 'theology of the body' speakers who seem to be pushing us, often unconsciously, towards a 1950's 'ladies are meant to stay in these restricted roles' mindset which totally turns off many brilliant women who feel alienated and frustrated that the Church seems to be trying to shove us back into these very narrow roles. THAT is why women are leaving. They either submit to the standards men have set -put on veil, stick that hard-earned degree in a drawer, smile and take care of your man, OR they leave the faith. Of course, there are those like myself who won't accept the either/or option and will fight to demonstrate a third option for women who aren't just defined by their bodies, just as men shouldn't be (JP's theology of the body was never meant to be a doctrine and was just a serious of talks that somehow gained insane popularity to the point of overtaking other incredibly important conversations) and not narrowly defined as some single entity that is 'woman' as if we aren't the beautiful, unique, individuals God created us to be. Elizabeth Anscombe, St. Joan of Arc, St Catherine of Sienna, St. Hildegard, Mary, Mother of God and Strength beyond all Telling, all you strong and holy women, pray for us that the scars of the Fall that left men believing women to be 'less than' will finally be healed by Him Who restored dignity to women and counted them among His followers. There are weak men, there are strong women. There are intellectually dull men. There are intellectually brilliant women. And the reverse is also true. Let's stop this reductionist mindset of 'man vs, woman'. God called us by name, not by gender.

    I hope so but Christianity only succeeds when Christians are in the world but NOT of it. Far too many Christians have become indistinguishable from the world in wanting worldliness: obsession with money, material possessions, status, power, neglect of community, etc. While the Eucharist is important, devotions to it are a waste if you treat your fellow human beings poorly! Unfortunately I have seen too much of that even in my own life. We must do better! “What you did for the least of these, you did for me.”

    As a young male Christian myself, my understanding as to why young men are more willing to seriously affiliate with Christianity, and more specifically Catholicism, is because popular culture that appeals to men is wrapped up in Christian motif. Think ideas such as warfare, young men are drawn to popular portrayals of warfare such as World War 2 and many men will attach themselves to the ideas inherit within these popular portrayals that extend far beyond the portrayals themselves. The Middle Ages is one such example that is a massively popular source of interest to young men, and there they will easily find Catholicism and its many historical adherents. You won't be hard-pressed to find a young man on social media quoting King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, who was portrayed by Ridley Scott as an inspirational Catholic monarch.
    Women on the other hand have no such popular cultural retreat. I think popular culture needs to bridge the gap between women and the church because Christianity's decline started in these spaces and these spaces continue to spur on its decline.
    Just my thoughts anyway.

We all happened to come back to the Church at the same time without influencing each-other. This is providence, not coincidence. Otherwise, any decisions we make may only be window-dressing that, rather than exalting the Gospel in our lives, will mask or submerge it. For each disciple, it is essential to spend time with the Master, to listen to his words, and to learn from him always. Unless we listen, all our words will be nothing but useless chatter. Because it arises in vivid hallucinations, delusional thinking, and a profound sense of disorientation. I made thoughtful choices and promoted self-control by obligating to go more often to Church services to teach myself and be uplifted by fellow believers and the opportunity to serve and worship. I put my trust and faith in Jesus Christ, and I feel the Holy Spirit who brings love, joy, peace, and longsuffering and seals my soul, as my redemption and reconciliation with God. I understand people who say they love the church and if declining attendance is an issue, chances are it's because they don't see a direct benefit. My faith is contagious through my entire family and I guarantee that prayer will lead to recovery from physical illness with heart issues.

    While I feel the discussion hit on a lot of things that are contributing to these signs of hope, I don’t think it went far enough. We’ve had a lot of chaos these past few years and through people like Jordan Peterson, people, especially men, are finding the wisdom of Christianity. The chaos in the world combined with the call to stand up to the chaos epitomized by people like Peterson resonates with men and gives them purpose. Men are realizing that if they don’t stand up to the chaos, society will collapse because what is happening now is unsustainable. People like Harrison Butker, and others, are calling men to stand up and lead as an antidote to the chaos that exists today. I could go on but I think a big part of this is men realizing that if they don’t do something, society will collapse and the blueprint for what they need to do comes from Christ.
