- Alan Wake 1 had the Old Gods of Asgard Concert, Control had the Ashtray Maze, and Alan Wake 2 has Initiation 4, the "We Sing" Chapter. Check out the full gameplay sequence of the Alan Wake 2 musical moment here! Full spoilers for this section of the game!
Alan Wake 2 takes place 13 years after the events of the first game. You play as both Alan Wake and Saga Anderson, a new character to the series. Battle through the Dark Place and the woods of Bright Falls to restore everything to its right place. Is Alan the Champion of Light? Or the Herald of Darkness? You'll have to play for yourself to find out!

@@petebagwell6666 It's more then that, the game is carefully crafted to make the player confused, tense and not knowing what to expect. So by the time this level comes up you get completely swung the other direction. From tense, confused and a bit scared to this.
"Nah, they can never top out the Ashtray Maze!" and then this! So awesome, so brilliant! Alan Wake 2, what a game! What a sequel! Sam Lake and his team never disappoints!
The whole game is basically the Ashtray Maze writ large. Constantly shifting environments etc.

The use of FMV has to be one of the best I’ve ever seen, it’s actually used to great effect and tells the story.
There’s so much foreshadowing in this song if you’re listening for it it’s great
The way that the light from the FMV beams out from the screen and interacts with the in-game models is incredibly technically impressive.

FMV would still be "a thing" in the games industry at large if every dev used it as well as Remedy.
Remedy has reached filmmaker status with their games. They ooze style and you can see it in all their work. Reminds me of how certain directors have a consistent vibe across all their films. Bravo Sam Lake's beautifully twisted mind and the team at Remedy

They imagery of David Harewood and the band impatiently motioning you where to go if you take too long makes me laugh. Seeing Sam Lake in the dance sequence was both beautiful and hysterical.

To consider games as art, this game NEEDS to be the GOTY
This was an awe moment in gaming history, just like Arthur's last ride in RDR2. The layers to how deep this segment goes is astounding. As far as my interpretation, the dark presence further corrupting Alan's psyche, takes his life story, fears and hopes and reproduces it through an amazing musical sequence for him and us. As amazing as this part is, it's still the dark presence and that's incredibly twisted and somehow incredibly fun at the same time. It's not only scaring Alan but also us the gamers, as we're seeing "real life" images within a video game, as if the dark presence is peaking over the screen at us. Alan's gonna have to seriously rise up in his craft and upgrade his writing skills to Shakespearian levels in the next game if he's to come out of the never ending night. Absolute masterpiece and my personal GOTY.
This is one of the most creative levels ever made in a game. Congratulations to Remedy!

Alan Wake is a VERY serious game, just look at this. What serious game doesn't have a jazz number in the middle of a rock concert.
This was such a wonderful celebration. The devs inviting us along to enjoy the moment, After 13 years we got Alan Wake 2.

this sequence has definitely become one of my favorite moments in gaming
Any other game would have this as a funny secret level, this however is required to watch and that makes it 100x funnier

This moment is a masterpiece, but the whole game is not: cheap useless sequel. Even Control made more sense for AW lore than THIS. Everything in AW2 was made to have AW3 where they surely (surprise!) would be resquing/reviving Alice.
