We🇺🇸Have The
"BEST" Food in
The🌎....
-🇺🇸🦅
The name of the restaurant is "Taste of Texas"
Nice thanks!
the quail bird is commonly know here in Kentucky, as the Bob White
A tomahawk steak is actually a ribeye steak still attached to the rib bone and is as thick as the rib, around 2 inches. I will eat myself sick on a pecan pie.
I usually wrap the bone for ppl to give to their puppies not ducks 😂
You would make great Texans…. We need more people like you.
You can get top shelf steak in most major cities in the us
Now I want a steak so bad! And key lime pie is my favorite pie!!
Right!?! I actually saw fresh key limes at the store yesterday here in AZ and was super surprised lol I've never seen them outside of FL before
Love Jolly. Thank you. Loved your reactions.
Watch their Southern food video in Savanah Georgia...there was a couple of things they didn't like on that one!
They have eaten things they dont like and let you know. The deep fried key lime pie, for example, Ollie hated it. They seem very honest and genuine.
This is close to me. When you come to visit Texas, Carol and Recky we'll have to go there. We have so much good food in Texas and because you have a lot of supporters from this area we could organize a meet up. That would be so much fun.
They are at Taste of Texas here in Houston.
Ya'll come on down to Dallas. Not in the summer, you will melt. It has been over 105 for the last 10 days. Maybe it willget under 100 this weekend. So I am staying with rhe AC and a fan binge watching Recky and Carol.
More cat chaos please! 😻😹
The restaurant name is “Taste of Texas.”
Poor Carol; she was enjoying the steaks so much that I thought she was gonna cry 😂 I sincerely hope y’all can visit us in America one day soon ❤
😅♥️
Fun fact: you mentioned the Flintstones. The Flintstones cartoon was based off of a satire series called The Honeymooners. The early cartoons were sponsored by Winston cigarettes. Trying to get those kids addicted early!
Oh, my. 😄 Thank you. I laughed so at your reactions - especially yours, Carol ... wanting that steak so. (I agree. Would love to try it.)
Ollie will be the first to show if something doesn't taste quite right.
Recky & Carol you are awesome. Thank you for the video! I'm a fan of Jolly as well. Yes quails are a small bird. Time to come to the US!
Recky you can't eat pecan pie muahahah!
The restaurant is "TASTE OF TEXAS"
Jolly was at “Taste of Texas” restaurant in Houston. They were not very clear about this in the video.
Carol looks like she is on an emotional roller coaster while watching the video, lol.
I'm a Texan (currently residing in Oklahoma) and YES...there is a LOT of good food in Texas! I'm going to have to "assume" the Taste of Texas restaurant is expensive. I looked into the BBQ place they went to, that looked SO good (Terry Black's) and their prices made my eyes get REAL BIG too. Their food isn't cheap either. I know some people don't have a problem spending a lot on a meal but I can't see doing that even IF I have the means $$$, which I don't. LOL
As to visiting Texas...I'd recommend the spring, March, April, May and POSSIBLY June or the fall/winter...October, November, December. July, August, September are really HOT months (38 C - 43° C) and the heat index can be worse than that! LOL
Well yes it would be expensive, but worth the experience.
Cause they would be there on vacation.
What's a vacation without good food.
Also what's the chance they could come back to the same area again.
They would probably try another state and that states food the next time around.
Good barbecue aint cheap, unless you make it yourself. You're usually gonna buy the meat by the pound at a barbecue restaurant.
That tomahawk is priced around $120. But it's also around 40oz. So about 3 "normal" resturant steaks. Not cheap, but not overly expensive. It's sort of a tourist trap sort of place..but the food is good. Good choice if you're in the area.
I enjoy your views about the U.S. Texas has had weeks of temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. A/C is everywhere, though!!!! For fun, people fry eggs on sidewalks or driveways in summer. I only go to Texas after October 1 up to about April 1. On occasion, though, the northern part of the state can have ice storms in the middle of winter. Texas is so large that France and Switzerland can fit comfortably within its borders. If you have an inclination to travel to Texas, I recommend, if I may be so bold, that you choose a region and be prepared to drive a LOT; unless, you solicit help from locals who will absolutely take you everywhere you want to be for Free!DLee
Yeah its crazy big, and so hot to be able to fry eggs on the sidewalks!?? Crazy! Hope we get to go there someday 😊
I live in Iowa and our local grocery store has specials once in a while on the Tomahawk Steaks. Sometimes as low as $9.99/pound! I bought 1 and it was over 3 pounds! It was delicious! It takes a while to cook, but soooo worth it! I seared all sides of it on my electric griddle Brevard it was too big for any skillet I had! Then I finished it in the oven on a cookie sheet! Needless to say, I got several meals out of that 1 steak! ❤
I'd love to fix the two of you a Santa Maria Tri-Tip steak. Melts in your mouth!
😋😋😋
I’ve been watching since the beginning of your channel and have to say, that’s the biggest couch I’ve ever seen!!!
They do say they don't like something once in a while. You'll have to watch them more.
I live in the US and never had a steak that drool worthy... Also Carol, you have stunning eyes, dear!
Thank you 😁
They are eating at a restaurant called "The Taste of Texas" in Houston, TX. I had that tomahawk steak there for my Birthday about 7 years ago. I can tell you from experience, it tastes as good as it looks.
If you watch them trying fried chicken, he does not like greens, a southern dish that uses collard greens - similar to mustard greens, but with bigger leaves.
I love Texas. I love any content with Carol and Recky .
In a restaurant, the tomahawk steak can cost $200. Of course, that includes whatever else it comes with (i.e. salad, maybe baked potato, etc.).
I've only ever seen them served a la carte in high end steakhouses. 120-150 depending on if it's aged or not. Always recommended for 2 😉
They have these tomahawk steaks at my local grocery here in West Texas. A lot of steak restaurants here have those tomahawk steaks and they are not cheap at all. Only problem Recky, you can't have the pecan pie since you can't have pecans. So it would just be torture for you.
Love your shirt Carol!
Quail is about as big as your first once cleaned with with all white meat. My favorite game bird.👍
Tomahawk steak is a thick ribeye on a stick if u want to think of it that way. Most good restaurants have tomahawk steaks & my niece's husband's family has a grocery store that's been in their family for over 100yrs & now & then even he gets in tomahawk steaks you can buy to grill or wagyu steaks so it's pretty easy to find now days. Cowboy steaks are usually a porterhouse steak which is similar to a T-bone steak. I prefer a good aged ribeye & I love it with melted garlic butter & cooked mushrooms on top of it. With a good steak sauce like yoshida's (Asian dipping sauce) or Heinz 57 sauce or even HP SAUCE. MY FAVORITE of the 3 pies is the Key Lime pie which not everyone can make good ones, they make it too limey or sour but a perfect one is sweet but not too sweet, then the cheesecake with cherries or strawberries every restaurant usually has cheesecake but I've never liked pecan pie because it's too SWEET even with the ice cream. It all look excellent though. They (jolly) should say how much their meal was in American dollars. 😂😄😍😋🥩🥓🥔🥦🍰🍺🍷
You do know that we don't eat like this every day, right?
Also, the tomahawk steak used to be called something else, like t-bone or Porter house, I can't remember which cut it is, but they used to just cut the rib bone off and serve just the steak part, but someone decided this was a great marketing idea so they can charge more, even though it's the same thing you could get 20 years ago without the rib bone.
By the way, Josh is the one that looks like Jim Carry, Ollie is the one with the lighter, curlier hair.
And now I have to have a moment of sadness that Recky will never know the heaven of pecan pie.
Don't rush, take care of what you need to first, but when you're ready, Texas will be here to help you gain weight. lol
The Tomahawk is a ribeye on the bone. A porterhouse & a t-bone are the same steak but in different sizes. They both have a new york & filet and a T shaped bone. On the porterhouse the filet is bigger & on the t-bone it's smaller.
@@BeboRulz thanks. I honestly couldn't remember which cut was which.
@Treasacello anytime 😊 it's hard chatting in comments I always feel like I will come off snarky, glad I didn't.
I work in a steakhouse so I like talkin meat lol
In Jolly's Buc-ee stop, Olly actually said that the Cherry Maple Beef Jerky was disgusting, and was just like eating Cherry Maple Vape (Cigarette) Smoke.
It's a ribeye some idiot decided to leave the bone on. Ribeye is my favorite steak, but i somehow manage to enjoy it without the hokey Texas marketing gimic. Other than that, everything looks delicious!
It is served like that across the US.
I definitely prefer bone in steaks, but I buy them from the butcher. Getting a prime bone in steak at any restaurant is usually crazy expensive & I have the means to cook it at home, so that's what I do.
Pecan Pie is my FAVORITE pie!!! My mom would make it for every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
Carol, Brussels sprouts with pork fat is a perfect keto food. As is steak with garlic butter. If you have a desire for cheese cake but want to stay keto, look up cottage cheese ice cream. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, try putting the unfrozen “ice cream” in a container, like a zip top baggie, put that into a larger container filled with ice and rock salt or kosher salt. Mix the whole thing around for five minutes and you should have a frozen dessert that tastes like cheese cake. Also perfectly keto - if you use a sugar substitute for the sweetener.
I'm not a fan of pecans but have always wanted to try pecan pie. I googled it and found an easy recipe substituting thin pretzel sticks for the pecans.
Some in our family has allergies to nuts, so we make one with oatmeal and it is fantastic.
@@tammyosborn6199 oh that sounds interesting! Is there a recipe online that is similar?
Too bad Recky can't eat pecans because pecan pie is very easy to make. I got addicted to them when I was in my twenties (I'm 64 now) and would make and eat one by myself every other week. My girlfriend, now my wife, put a stop to it since she couldn't eat it because of the sugar. (actually corn syrup). I have watched a few videos by these guys and you're right they rarely dislike anything they eat. I think they practice making faces in a mirror to convey how FABULOUS the food tastes just to irritate those of us who can't get what they're eating. And I live in the US!
Please know that Texas is not the only state that have Tomahawk steaks, barbecue etc. These delicious foods and desserts are found across America.
And its worth trying them all, the regional BBQ differences are one of the joys of America in my opinion lol.
But Texas is known worldwide for the best barbecue experience. No offense, but Texas just does it right
@@snowflakehunter Kansas and other places would argue that. I'm from Vermont I have no skin in the game, and enjoy them all.
North Carolina BBQ is definitely delicious!!
Being in Texas I have that as my favorite but I also like Memphis style & Carolina, I think Lexington? Anyway, all regions have something they offer. Too bad Recky is has a nut allergy. I'm afraid there would be too much temptation here.
Looks sooo yummy😋
Now its time for me to eat my tuna sandwich🫤
Surprised you haven't reacted to their Texas rodeo video (the first one w/food & activities; the second one is just weird fried desserts).
Cant wait for yall to come here, yall are great
Hope your having a good day you two. Many people think Texas is the american west, but Dallas and Houston are actually very centered from east to west in the country, just far south. I do think that since so many are from Texas that support your channel, it is a natural choice for your visit here, but there is so much to see and experience here, I really hope you get to travel a bit. I will happily make the 12 hour + drive to meet you in Texas, as I love Nebraska, but I know there is much more to see else where in this great nation. If you were to move here or have unlimited time to visit, then I would want you to see some of the true beauty of each state, but until that trip, we will have to come to where you can afford to be. Peace and love, from Nebraska.
I'm from Vermont and feel the same! It makes more sense to visit Texas but every state has its own magic
Yeah we need like a year to cover it all, but its a long way to that, but we are sure going to try! 🤗
I love steak with butter.
Carol, I agree with you. Josh looks like a young Jim Carey.
Just for future reference, the guy in the white is Ollie and the other one is Josh. They shoved their names together to make Jolly lol
Cinnamon ice cream is my favorite. Ben and Jerrys used to make an oatmeal cookie with cinnamon ice cream pint, and because i grew up near the original factory, lots of people who worked there would get too many free pints to store and eat them, so we were pften gifted them. Oatmeal cookie was my favvvvvorite because of the cinnamon ice cream
Easier to remember that the hot one is Josh lol
@@justmeiniowa LOL
Don't eat red meat but do enjoy the Jolly videos, their food tasting, etc....and your reaction to their adventures. Get a kick of them saying they're 'stuffed' but then going on to eat lots more. The volume of food they consume ('sample') is mindboggling to me.
CaRe Crew
Yeah its crazy! 😅
Can’t we send Carol and Recky a box of Omaha steaks? 🤷♀️🇺🇸😘
Love your shirt, Carol!
It reminds me of the meat at the drive in during The Flintstones!
The new season of Ragnarok came out on netflix today....and i could swear Carol was the voice for magnars mother. Uncanny.
Haha, what! I need to listen to that 😅
Restaurant is Taste of Texas, located in Houston.
The Tomahawk is a ribeye on the bone & is roughly $120.
Ours is 2.5 pounds WITH the bone. Recommended for 2 two people, just a fyi 😊
**At a restaurant, at the butcher it's 1/3 the price**
Even though I rarely eat meat that just made hungry for a steak like that with butter melted on top of it. I can see Carol's mouth watering over the steak more then Recky; but Recky's mouth is watering over the dessert (sweet tooth much 😅)
I like to take vanilla ice cream , put peaches on it then sprinkle cinnamon on the whole thing
"Mr. H and friends" went to a restaurant in England that is authentic American BBQ. May be cheaper to fly to England. You can check his video.
Hi Carol and Recky, the East Coast of the USA have those same steaks here in Maryland also! I’m I the only one who eat all red meat well done, sorry I don’t do blood but I do love a steak.
I REALLY hope you 2 get the opportunity to do this some day soon!!
Quail is good on the grill with honey mustard glaze,👍
If you love Brussels sprouts, I have an easy recipe for you! You need 16 ounces of Mexican chorizo (sausage) or about 12 ounces of Spanish chorizo, a pound of sprouts, half a chopped yellow onion, 3 or 4 cloves of chopped garlic, and a cup of dry white wine like chablis or Riesling. Put the sprouts in a pan of water and boil them for 15 minutes, then drain them and put them in a bowl of ice water. (When they're cool, I like to cut them in half.) If you get Mexican chorizo, it's loose like hamburger, so you can just break it up with your spatula. If you have the Spanish kind, you'll need to chop it up and add some butter to the pan. Cook the chorizo with the onion and garlic until the chorizo is browned and the onion is soft. Then add the wine and sprouts, let it simmer for 20 minutes, then get ready to be amazed!
Yum! 😋
@@reckyNcarol I'd love to see a video of you trying this!
Now after watching I'm craving pie and cheese cake
Come to Georgia! Our barbecue in Georgia is also AWESOME!!!!!
Texan here and I have yet to see a Tomahawk steak, not that it isn't well known but I can't afford the price!!! Please don't think most Texans can afford this, because I assure you we cannot.
Coming to Texas to eat is dangerous. You'll take home extra pounds. As a Texan though... it's worth it. I diet most of the time but when I cheat...I make it worth it.
I've lived and worked in Texas for many years and in my experience their steak/beef is absolutely amazing.
I live in the United States trust me the food is good
Quail is nice .. small but savory. They are cute so I would hate to shoot them. If you can't get to Texas, Texas Roadhouse is a fine chain in many states. A great steak just needs butter, no steak sauce required. Blue cheese on steak is very nice too. That is a great pecan pie with cinnamon ice-cream.
How could they not know what part of the cow that stake came from? It’s a tomahawk rib
Recky, we will have to make you a pecan pie without the pecans. It's still a really good pie.
Woooow amazing video😋🥩🍰🍨I’ve never been to Texas either. We might have to fix that in this life time😇. I sure do love a juicy steak and the truffle butter looks divine, I’ve never tried that either. I’m with Carol drooling while admiring all the delicious foods 😁. Have a blessed day 🙏😇
They are in Black's Barbeque... maybe Dallas.
There are good steak houses all across the US. But, I have to admit, the best bbq I've had was in Texas. Kansas City and the Carolinas are good bbq areas. The US knows how to do meat.
My Grandma was from the south and was a world class pie maker. I love pecan pie but no one made a better peach pie than my Grandma.
Josh on the left, Ollie on the Right.
Yum
Always loved key lime pie, similar to lemon meringue pie, but lime! 😂 But my absolute favorite pie of all time is pecan! Though, I haven’t had either for almost 20 years because I never could figure out how to make vegan versions.😢
It has been my thought that the English, founded the British empire, solely to find something good to eat.
So jealous! I am on a low carb diet and can only consume 4 Oz of protein at a meal..,,this makes me crazy! 🤪😉
Come on down to Texas! We have friendly people and BEEF.
The smallest egg is a Hummingbird egg
We get tomahawk steaks here in Ohio, not JUST A Texas thing. On them saying that "oh, that's not good", they would need to go back to the UK ;) Now when you travel to the USA, where will the cats be, & who takes care of them? (Just asking to spur you thinking about this.... not really expecting an answer.).
The Restaurant is: The Taste of Texas, maybe just "Taste of Texas". currently, as of 9/15/23 USA or 15/09/23 most every elsewhere... The Cowboy steak was $78.00USD, and the Tomahawk is/was $118.00USD the quail for 6 bites was/is $20USD, each slice of pie/cake was $10.00USD
If we are going Reckys family takes care of them 😁
One day you'll be there trying it. Start ur vision board & manifest destiny, so visualize it & make it happen guys. 😍😻💜🙏👍🗺️🌏💐🥂🍾🇸🇪✈️🇺🇸🥩
Enjoyed the video. That's a lot of meat!
Break out the A-1 steak sauce Recky.. and dip and enjoy
Okay, I'm going into "Mom" mode here for a moment. Recky, I didn't know you were allergic to Pecans, too. So, my "Mom" question is this: "Do you carry an epi pen with you at all times?"
No, I have pills but now at my age i know to stay away from it
If you end up in Texas, drop me a line.
I don't like steak and I'd be willing to try that.
Josh and Ollie are always fun. I gained weight just watching😂. Thank you Recky and Carol.
Unless your also eating wouldn't you be losing weight from drooling ??
Not sure why folks make jokes that makes ZERO sense.
Me to 😅😋
I’m so hungry NOW
I want to bit that steak too Carol!😋❤️
have you ever had butter pecan ice cream ?
No 😊
Hubba Hubba Munch Munch!
Sorry u gotta pecan allergy they're awesome
