Don’t forget this all began Game 3 period 3, where they began scoring on odd-man rushes and carrying the puck into the crease. 7 goals on Bob in about 3 periods since.
Regarding the belief stated that Florida will win Game 5, normally I would concur. In fact, I thought Edmonton would win Game 4 by a huge margin, giving the fans a chance to see their team finish the home season with a win as well as give the Oilers false hope of a vomeback. However, when I said a "huge margin," I meant 5-1 or 7-2. But 8-1 is a different matter. Although the score was a one-off, an aberration, and an event that will happen rarely at best against a team like Florida, it's indicative that the Oilers might be the Panthers' equals. The Oilers are due for a winning streak, the Panthers are due for a slump, Conner Brown is due for a goal or two, Edmonton's defensive play is under-rated. The 8-1 drubbing as opposed to 5-1 or 7-2 makes a 6th game seem more plausible if not likely. Therefore, I'm leaning toward an Edmonton win on Tuesday. The last time a team won the Stanley Cup after being down 3 games to none was in 1942. The NHL is a long overdue and if anyone can do it, it's this Oilers team (was it McDavid who said it?).
These guys have never played hockey. If you watch the Nurse hit on Bennet, he's leading with his shoulder. Players skate wth their legs wide. Bennett moves his body to the right, avoids the shoulder check, but ya, his legs are wide too and their legs come together. Hearing pro 'analysts' disparage the ref on a play like this is bad for hockey. This collision is virtually unavoidable. Bennett sold it huge.. comment on that garbage.. that's the gross part!
@@RedKryptonyt True. Without Bobrosvsky the Oilers would either be tied or even ahead in the series. Now that the dam has burst, who knows what might happen next.
@@briangoat-b6b Yes for both. If Panthers lose it’s a whole new series. They then have to get on a plane again back to Edmonton and all the pressure is on them.
These guys don't watch any hockey. Oilers should be up 3-1 in this series. They outplayed the Panthers in game 1, game 3 and game 4. It's just we didn't have any bounces or puck luck in game 1.
They literally spent the whole time discussion why the oilers could come back and that McDavid should win the Conn Smyth… what are you talking about lol.
@@Barkybarc While highly unlikely Edmonton could turn it around push it to game 7. Panthers won 3 in a row and Edmonton when firing on all cylinders is very capable of doing the same. As for McDavid winning the con Smyth is not debatable. The con Smyth trophy takes ALL of the playoffs into consideration not just the Stanley Cup finals.
Game 4 won't linger on the panthers, unless the oilers score 3 goals in the first period in game 5, then I can imagine doubts in the panthers mind start whispering worried things.
From the highlights I was watching here it appears the Oilers mastered the formula for beating the panthers. You need to be hard in the forecheck and move the puck quickly and efficiently. FULL MARKS TO THE OILERS VERY IMPRESSIVE ON ALL FRONTS GOTTA BE READY FOR GAME 5 AND THEN LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Clearly these two are rooting for the Oilers. Not one time they mention how resilient the Panthers have been all playoffs long not losing two games in a row
@@humanbeing2420 of course we all want that but we also understand when folks are on something and are delusional. Seems like that runs high in Alberta
@humanbeing2420 Heading into this game the entire story was about the panthers. 1 win away, bobrovski this that, and the other. Tonight the Oilers won big, so its the story. Don't get your panties in a bunch bud. Both teams have a story to tell in the cup finals.
@@gperezniners4949so the panthers just got their teeth kicked in, and they should be talking about them??? Ok then lmao. The guys clearly spent a decent amount of time on who wins the conn Smythe "when" the panthers win.
This is literally exactly what I said during the game bro! I also said after last game that if we pop in a few more goals early in game 4, then we would not only finally be in Bob's head, but we would gain tons of momentum as well as confidence!!
If Edmonton barely managed to win tonight, it wouldn't have meant much, but this is a statement game, where almost every edmonton slump was addressed. It's hard not to be excited.

It's the first finals win in 18 years. That's all it is. No one around here is planning the parade. Everyone is well aware at the mountain ahead. Now to suggest that no one should be celebrating an 8-1 win at home. In the finals, to stave off elimination, now that's real fucking stupidity.
@RedKryptonyt my buddy's an oilers fan and was pissed last night. "Said where the fuck was this team the first 3 games" He knows if they played like last night all series they would've had a chance to lift Lord Stanley. Now it's too late
@@fakenattyfinder They kind of did play like that in game one, but Bobrovsky stopped everything. In game four he couldn't stop a beach ball. But, otherwise the Oilers played just as well in game one. 34 shots in that game if I remember correctly.
The Oilers are the far better team and that’s why every sports analyst picked them to win the cup. We’ve seen all season long once they catch fire they are unstoppable. I won’t be surprised if they win the next 3 in a row for the cup.
@@Pizzalover22-um1vwmany *Canadian sports analysts picked Oilers to win. Most others didn’t. No objective hockey analyst picked Oilers. They were the clear underdog according to every single betting site, because their team just isn’t as good as FL. Depth, goaltending and especially defense…all worse than the Panthers’. Oilers’ are a special teams team. They are a 2 line team essentially. They played an incredible game in game 4, while FL got completely away from their structure and team play. Oh and hate to be that fan that cries about officiating, but it’s been just brutal this series. These refs have massive inflated egos, thin skin, constantly yelling, screaming obscenities at some players/coaches, then trying to be buddy buddy with others. They get a little of that back and they can’t handle it. Penalty or ejected. These guys want attention and some spotlight. They want to be consequential to the game. Zero accountability. Never shut up on the ice, constantly screaming and talking to players. Just call the book and shut up. Then in playoffs, if the games are to be called looser, that’s fine, just be CONSISTENT. As a wings fan (admittedly also a Panthers fan), that knee on knee from Nurse deserved a 5 and a game. Headshots and knee on knee’s are potential career enders. It’s a chicken sh*t play. Just lay the hard body checks that we all love. With those, the hitter should be 100% responsible to adjust (lower) the height of his hit, to make contact with the body or shoulder of the opposing player to be hit. If the hitter cannot lower his hit to be on shoulder(s) or chest/body in time, the opposing player is not eligible to be hit. It’s fairly simple. This “principal point of contact” stuff is mostly garbage when you analyze it. Under that definition and logic, a hitter can graze the shoulder pad of opposing player and make shoulder to jaw or head contact the point of contact that receives 99% of the force of the hit and it’s often fine. The league needs to adjust this rule to make clear that it’s the level of the hit that’s important, and also to get these ridiculous shoulder and elbow pads (weapons) replaced with either old school ones that were just for protection or mostly foam ones that are protective. The ones they wear now are not only dangerous, but also keep the hitter from feeling the force of the contact as well. Once a clown like Trouba has to feel the chicken sh*t hits he makes, maybe he’ll knock it off or get a separated shoulder from it.
Bob is 35 fatigue is the factor that has caught up to him. Now the oilers need to push , make that ruski tender work up down side to side . The goals will come , pressure now on cats playing at home . Oilers need to play their best road game ever.
Bob is the most conditioned, athletic and in shape player in that locker room. Fatigue might’ve played a role, but most of those goals weren’t on him. He’ll be ready to go in game 5.
Every goal beat Bob high, mostly glove side. Before the series even started the book was that he had a weak glove and you needed to beat him up high. Was the first game Oilers got the puck up.
how is this man going to say Giguere shouldn't have won the conn smythe and then expect me to take anything he says seriously. zero chance this mans eyes work, he might have you all fooled but not me
There was no reason for Nurse's penalty, never mind 5 minutes. It was not knee-on-knee, it was a hit where Nurse was trying to slow himself and he did not stick his leg out. It never moved from its position when he started the hit motion. I don't understand why he says it looked like a deliberate knee. Look at other knee-on-knee hits - they all have one thing in common, which is the leg moves out as the other player tries to dodge the hit. That's not what happened with Nurse. And not even close to what happened with Foegle. In that one, he was trying to kick the puck, which happened to be right there at that exact time.
Chances are, Florida still wins it in game 5. But that was one of the biggest ass kickings I’ve seen. Guys on Florida looked completely shocked and clueless on what to do. If Edmonton would have taken advantage of outplaying Florida in game 1 and won, it would be a hell of a series. I’m hoping for 7 games as it always good for hockey.
The Oilers just had their typical cold streak the first 3 games and made the panthers look better than they actually are. Now the oilers are playing normally and this is the result. They are the far better team.
Why oilers win? Thanks for the fourth line and Holloway hard working get the job done so the Oilers stayed alive. The Oilers is a die hard team never surrender. Go Oilers Go
Oilers'd better be careful with this win, don't let the scoreline deceive you. It was just a bad day in the office on slippery ice for the Panthers. Game 5 would be completely different.

Anyone that thinks that the Panthers were "all in" after the Oil made it 3-1 last night hasn't watched Florida play this year. They were completely unrecognizable after that. And for those that say "the Oil has figured the Panthers out". really? Are you hearing yourselves? It took the Oil with all of their world class hockey wizardry a complete four games to figure Florida out? As they say, everybody is free to voice his/her opinion but, the vast majority of the time, the likeliest explanation is the actual explanation. I will say that what's really going to kill the Oil is the three day gap, plus travel, between Games 4 and 5. That's going to cool down the enthusiasm quite a bit. If Game 5 was in Edmonton and today or tomorrow, it might be a different story.

Goalies will still decide the outcome of this series even at 3-1.
This really had little to do with the Oilers top players, they pitched in, but it was the rest of the guys who stepped up. Line match ups don't do shit.
Right Bobrovsky gave up the chance to become the all time sav% leader in the NHL playoffs to post a .688% and drop to 80th. And to win the cup so the owner can make more money. You're delusional.

Now both teams have scored 12 goals in 4 games. It's a parity in terms of goals scored.
The series has been largely very close. Don't let the media fool you. Team maturity, and goalie Bob, are the reasons this thing is 3-1 and not tied.

Yes. If they win game five, then they go back to Edmonton with all the momentum and should be able to force a game seven. Will be interesting.
Both panthers goalies are cooked. This series is going to be an easy win for oilers.
Bob is the most conditioned, athletic and in shape player in that locker room. Fatigue might’ve played a role, but most of those goals weren’t on him. He’ll be ready to go in game 5.
It was the Panthers defense that let those goals in not Bob.
