My first Nurburgring laps of 2021, and the first laps for my AMG GT R Roadster! All Shmeemobiles have to loop the Green Hell at some point, and as always the GT R does not disappoint. Shame about that pesky problem though...

I love the smile in the ring picture. Pure pleasure! I wonder if part of the PDI/Delivery Prep would have been to remove singing that allowed that spoiler to deploy… I could see the factory locking it up for transport and the dealer having to remove that…

That red is looking awesome in real-world conditions, Actually, the Roadster appeals much more than the Pro. I think a metallic red would also suit the GT Black.

@@cephasmakuzva Tim's irripressable work ethic and enthusiasm comes through in all his content keeping it fresh and interesting. I would not be Suprised if he logged the majority of his miles.

Tim is very smart I'm sure he has a team who clock them and claim it back. Tim used to work in City of London for an accounting firm he knows all that it he used to do it for other people so I'm sure he knows exactly how many he did the past few years I'm sure it crosses 100k a year
My only dislike of the roadster is I think in line with yours and it’s that I wouldn’t want a limited car that I didn’t get to make my own and choose the specification. It’s different if you’re buying one second hand but for the money of that car new, having that experience and the stuff you want is a big part of buying a car.

Did you consider the maintenance costs or replacement costs of the convertible roof? I am thinking of buying a Z4 4.0i butt I read that the convertible roof needs to be replaced every 5-7 years. What are your thoughts about it?
Hi . Actually the limiter worked for the benefit . Very safe and stable driving. I wish all cars can be manually limited by the driver . You looked more pro race driver . Un limited would make you fight more . Tim .....excellent.
Highly recommend some form of brake cooling modification as the brakes get way to hot when seeing track use on GTR’s. Major flaw in the car & well documented by GTR owners. TIKT kit is top notch.
An other one which could be waiting for you... I had several times a Damper Fault coming up with no limitation what so ever what comes to driving but I had between ODO reading 3.900km and 5.500km in very short time period already 3 Engine-mount / Gearbox-mount active bearings swapped including the associates ECU for the matter. After that the error came up again driving towards the Nurburgring but then next day had disappeared again... so pending 4th active bearing. When dropping the tire pressure to 2.1-2.2 warm for the track and then letting the car sit over lunch break you can see error messages from ESP and ABS coming up which clear out when inflating the tires to over 2.2BAR again.... seems to be an electronic diva those GT-R's
Definitely frustrating and unlucky, but I have to give the most unlucky nod to the Senna. Great video as always though. I hope I get a chance to lap the Green Hell in something 1/10 as cool!
Tyre pressure is a bit low at the beginning? My recently acquired GT R's tyre pressure is 280-290 kpa, once gently warmed up to ~30C, seems perfect for the road. For track purposes, recommended (starting point) is 2.6 bar max at front, 2.4 bar at rear (cold).

We've seen it for ourselves, for a example my friends car had an issue we're it broke down on the side of the road, good thing it's fixed, let's not forget about the time you had a rentech gtr, we're gonna see how many times we will hit the limiter too many times is the awnser
Goes to show how Merc really made the GT R roadster for cruising people not racing people. Which might explain them not having to make a ruckus of a 200kmh speed limiter if some splitter fails.

GTR roadster can do great laps on Nurburgring and can also go smoothly and do a leisurely drive in the French Riviera with wind in hair sooo versatile
