The first 13 episodes or so of Kamen Rider are particularly surreal, but they become more conventional after that. This was largely because kids weren't enthusiastic about it, and the show REALLY took off after its sort-of reboot with Kamen Rider #2.

Fun little factoid, lead actor Hiroshi Fujioka did his own stunts in and out of the suit for the first 10 or so episodes, making this the only toku show I can think of where the lead actor was also the suit actor.

Keep in mind that the first time the instrumental Let's Go Rider Kick plays in this show, Hongo is still fully human. He was worthy of the theme even before being rebuilt into Kamen Rider!
(Also, "cyborg" is accurate here in context, but "Kaizou-Ningen" can be applied to a biologically-altered human as well. Technically, "Kaizou-" means "altered" or "rebuilt" and is as broad in meaning as those words.)

I don't know how people State-side ever saw these original tokusatsu shows before "adapted" versions for the US. It's a real privilege to see them now as they were and I've been catching this and the original Sentai shows whenever I can. I love the rawness and grittiness of these early shows made on nothing but enthusiasm and a pack of cigarettes. They're fun and just effortlessly cool.
KIKU TV and other public TV channels in areas where there was a huge Japanese population aired Tokusatsu like Kikaider and Kamen Rider V3, along with anime like Yuusha Raideen and Galaxy Express 999 during the 70s.
Aw heck yeah, 71 on RUclips legally . Takes me back to 2013 just getting into the franchise.
Glad this is available outside Japan and the us finally for the international friends of justice and humanity.

Was disappointed to find I couldn't watch TokuSHOUTsu on the service due to living in the UK, but I'm so happy you guys are uploaded the series to RUclips for us Brits. Thank you. Will also be checking out Ultraman on here as well as the Gavan and Goranger on the Toei channel.

The first of a badass series that holds near and dear to my heart! Thank u Kamen Rider Ichigo aka hongu takashi. I'm pretty sure this still remains to be the longest running Kamen Rider series to date. That may seem cool but it's a hell of a chore to get through. But it's worth it!
Its so much better than most episodes of now days kamenrider. But somehow it also looks like an Art Movie made by Art Students for a Film Festival in Cannes.

The best one is still KR Black. Nothing came closer to that. Neo-heisei and reiwa sucks because they love to spamming skills and no human life in stakes

I actually really like the scene where the Shocker troops are circling KR. Most of the time, that kind of edit is used to have a character jump or move really far, and so it was interesting to see them use that technique to just make the Shocker troops move in an unnatural and unnerving way.

My dad was station in Okinawa in 70-72. Loved the tv shows even though I didn’t know Japanese. I was 4-5 years old so I didn’t know English either! The theme song has been in my head ever since. Rider kick!

Now I just wish they had made a crossover of Kamen Rider and Japanese Spider-Man
they did, v3 and toei spiderman
It was only a photoshoot for a magazine, not an actual episode.

I finally watched the very 1st episode of Kamen Rider! I must say, it's vintage!
This is the first time I’ve ever seen Kamen Rider apart from a few videogames and wow… what a good way to start! The old style really gives me a nostalgic feeling even if it’s something that I’ve never seen before (im more used to watching shows from late 90s and so on)
