THE SECRETS ARE BEING REVEALED 😱 Reminder for these videos we try to keep them around 20 minutes long for RUclips Algorithm purposes, so if there’s something I missed please know that’s likely the reason! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. 👇
her face at first looked heartbroken , when he first started to go off on them, then went into "ok whatever Im done can I go to bed now"? as much as i don't know if I like any of them as people,I can empathize with them in this situation as well as Cal.
Ok Cal said the first time he had sex was when the baby was in Marsha's belly SO WHAT IF THATS DEREK AND WE GET ANOTHER BACKSTORY?? AND HOW MARSHA FOUND OUT IDK
About Nate calling Cassie Maddi. When lived with my parents I often felt irritated by my brother (in a normal sibling way), his name was “Andrey” (Russian). When I started dating my future husband, everytime I felt being in the same state of irritation I would slip and call him by my brother’s name. Now after 4 years of living with my husband it happens other way around. I have an argument with my brother and call him by the name of my husband. It became a joke with us. When I first watched this episode that what’s it for me. Not “he’s in love with maddy”, but “he’s in the same state he was when he was arguing with maddy”
Apparently, there’s an interview that just came out, where Eric (Cal) talks about the line “you’re my biggest regret”. He explained that it’s not that he regrets having him, but that he feels regret for not being a good parent to him. Something along these lines. And that puts the scene into a whole new perspective 🤯
Thank you for saying it’s ok to be empathetic to the characters, including cal and Nate. Watching this has made me so sad for them, and people are just so quick to say “we don’t need to know Cals back story, he’s trash”, everybody has a reason why they do things. You can empathize without agreeing with their actions and I feel like a lot of people don’t understand that
I like how you pointed out how Elliot is really just being used by Rue and Jules. I always felt like he wasn’t truly a bad person, but I couldn’t verbalize it.
Im sorry but you got it wrong, Elliot is manipulative, he blew away the line Rue left for him in da bathroom so he is in the right state of mind while Rue stays high so he can vet his way, he then tells Julz Rue is not Sober to further his agenda coz he now seems more honest than Rue thus Julz sleeps with him at the end
Idk I feel like theyre all in the wrong place in life and are just enabling all kinds of bad relationship dynamics and addictions. Rue needs alone time to settle through her own grief, Jules might be a sex addict and Elliot might be enjoying the manipulation of the situation for his own emotional needs( not really sure what his goal is but maybe he's not either?)
@Kwena Tsotetsi Elliot telling Jules that Rue isnt sober isnt being manipulative, he just felt too bad when he found out that she actually cares about rue
@@kwenatsotetsi5885 There is no romantic interaction between Elliot and Jules after he confesses that Rue is still using virtually everything and so is he. He stops them from going any further than heavy foreplay before making the confession saying he didn’t want to lie to her any further.
I loved your little speech about „not being a good person“! Many other reaction videos are very hard on the characters and don’t acknowledge their pain at all or feel any empathy for them. I read somewhere that someone said it was the best part of their week that Cal called Nate his biggest regret. I think people detach characters that do bad things (and are labeled as a „bad person“) from their humanity so much that it then becomes somewhat easy to enjoy someone else’s suffering. But if you think about a situation where a parent tells their child that they are the biggest regret of their lives? That is just tragic. In any case. No matter who the child is. Imagine your parent saying that to you.. I think you nailed it when you said that this whole situation of Cal taking to Nate really is psychologically traumatizing. So thank you for sharing your empathy and these really important messages through your reaction videos!
i just watch a reaction video for the second episode and the youtuber said cassie should die because what she's doing for maddy that was fuckd up she just a kid so is nate they don't deserve to die and also people disgusts me the fact they forgive cal because what happened to him and derek but still hate on nate for being his father son says a lot about them
Did you notice how rue was narrating the whole thing up until the very last bit where jewels ended up narrating. Also rue was in that church holding her dad hugging him talking to him makes me wonder if she overdosed again.
I did see that they flashed her dad in the scene. I DID NOT notice it was Jules voice at the end. I agree, she may have ODd. That’s going to be rough to react to.
He did AMAZING. I saw an interview where the cast was saying they were simply in awe watching him from above the foyer as he did the scene over and over again with it getting better and better every time. They called it “a masterclass” in acting. So incredible!
@@YouWillGetThereBuddy Oh no, it absolutely should be funny. It was made to be funny. Because only a person that understand the humor of it would also understand the tragedy of it. It's ok to laugh at tragedy, it makes it easier.
I think the main reason cal was laughing throughout parts of that speech was because of the head trauma + drinking. and I guess he's pretty unstable right now. but man, he really messed up his family there, lol.
a lot of people laugh when they're stressed. I don't laugh when someone dies or something, but it is a reaction when I'm stressed and don't know how to digest it all at once so I just laugh instead. I think it's pretty normal, Cal is probably laughing because everything is crumbling down and it's too much to even attempt holding it together so all he can really do is just laugh at the situation falling apart
i always found it fascinating the difference between how cassie and lexi have acted so far despite their similar upbringings. although cassie obviously had more attention as a young child, i would think this would be even more damaging to lexi and would make her want to act out more in order to get attention she lacked as a child. i would love to hear your thoughts on the two and why you think they are so different
good point they are night and day- Cassie is very emotional and seeks validation whereas Lexi seems very grounded, motherly and emotionally healthy for the most part.Lexi is definitely the anamoly here too as both her mom is a alcoholic and her dad became an addict.
I would think that Lexi is able to control it because that’s how she was “parented” and shown from as a child. While Cassie doesn’t have the control because she was showed that love. But I think it can be brought out of Lexi if she gets in a toxic relationship because she was raised in that environment too. They both need to know how to control and regulate there emotions/ feelings. (Which isn’t the easiest thing to do) That why they both are suffering just in different ways. Cassie is outward emotions while Lexi is inward.
I think it might stem from cassie always receiving attention for her looks, so she has an easy way of receiving the attention and validation she craves. Lexi is very quiet and doesn't easily get that attention from others around her, so I think she does the opposite and retreats from attention because she doesn't feel comfortable with it or knows how to get it. You can see her want for attention over her sister in the episode where she has her own "tv show" where she puts Cassie down, and even directly says that the side character is more "sensitive, smarter, more compelling" than the main (Cassie).
I love that you pointed out that trauma not transformed is trauma transferred. Because that’s such a major point on which so much of the show and story is based on. Whether it’s the dancing sequence with Cal and Cassie, Nate and Maddy or Cal’s confrontation with his family where we find out that his first son is just as f*cked up as he is. And even Rue, with her seemingly endless pain because of her father’s death, who is consequently hurting Jules, her own family, Lexi and Ali. Where the teens in the show really aren’t responsible for the situation and subsequent trauma they were born into, Cal had a lot of opportunities to go a different way. But in the end the privileged life of a seemingly straight, cis, white male suited him and gave him a more comfortable life. So when he makes his family responsible for his actions that’s really messed up. It’s so interesting hearing about Lexi‘s ability to care and love. Not only has she gone through so much as well, she also is still the most mentally healthy character who isn’t hurting/sabotaging herself or anybody else. And while being treated soo poorly by everybody she is neither punishing other people for that nor making bad choices for herself. I’m soo happy she has found an outlet in writing and directing her play because she deserves the world, is soo incredibly strong and still hasn’t given up on people even though they constantly slap her in the face. This episode was definitely a turning point and especially with the imagery and metaphysical aspects of the montage at the end I can’t wait to see what will happen because I feel there are so many possibilities now.
Do you feel as though Lexi could be hurting/sabotaging other people with her play once it is put on? Her play exposes Cassie's behaviors and now that she knows there is something between Cassie and Nate I have a feeling she will include it in her play. Many have hypothesized that she will do this and then Maddy will find out about their relationship at the opening night of the play in front of a whole audience airing out their dirty laundry.
@@laurenrichards6113 I mean we still don’t know for sure Lexi knows. She definitely knows something is seriously wrong with Cassie but I’m not sure she has figured it out completely. Lexi is simply not the type of person who willingly sabotages people that are important to her. And even if she does know, who knows in the what way she’ll incorporate it and translate it to the stage. All of the people are already hurting one way or the other. So either Lexi will finally put her foot down because she can’t continue watching her sister suffer and expose everything. Or she hopes that they will realise the sabotaging their own behaviour is by watching the play and getting and outside perspective. And if she does expose it Lexi will do it because she thinks it’s the right thing to do because she simply wants to help. That’s just the kind of person she is.
it makes me so happy to finally see a channel/person that doesn’t just laugh at and condemn nate despite how much onscreen pain he experiences. they ignore his humanity in favour of thinking he deserves to suffer. nate is so complex as a character, he’s actually my favourite in the show bc of this, and it’s just nice to see his trauma/pain be acknowledged- especially the parentification stuff.
Hey! I'm the re-recording mixer and sound effects editor for this season of Euphoria and I've really been enjoying your reactions and insight into the show! Keep up the good work!
i'm so happy i found this community of wholesome and sensitive people. I want to watch reaction videos because i love hearing other's opinions/theories but some people take it too far. Some youtubers are here just for the memes, they try to look like bad bitches being happy for what Cal is doing to Nate, for what's happening to Cassie, for Rue doing drugs because she's "too weak and i lost my patience with her" if this is how they act towards characters in a tv show, how would they react if it happened to somebody they knew, in real life?
I really like your reactions because you have a lot of empathy, and you show compassion and understanding to all the characters including Rue, who seems to be getting frustration, exasperation and anger from elsewhere in the fandom. And of course you know more about addiction and mental health than other reactors, which helps you give more nuanced interpretations (which I appreciate as someone who has struggled with similar stuff). I also really liked what you said about characters feeling like they are bad people - since I’ve recovered I’ve found lots of aspects of my personality that had been submerged (like my humour, and my love of creative writing) and I know have the core knowledge that I’m a good person, even if I make mistakes. Sorry for the long ramble. I live in the U.K. and love watching mental health related TV shows/ films so I could definitely give you some recommendations for other things to react to if that’s ok!
@@the.truth.doctor Brilliant! Here’s a few recommendations: My Mad Fat Diary (was very popular here, not my personal favourite but first series is interesting in terms of mental health stuff) Alma’s Not Normal (been extremely popular, I love it, only 6 thirty minute episodes, lots of stuff with mental health, trauma etc) A Street Cat Named Bob (film, I think it did well in various countries) Don’t Call Me Crazy (excellent three part documentary that was popular here) Louis Theroux Talking to Anorexia (another documentary, I preferred don’t call me crazy but still interesting) Overshadowed (very short episodes, so only 60-80 minutes total I believe, watched it a few years ago and thought it was good at representing certain things) My personal favourites at the moment are Alma’s Not Normal and Don’t Call me Crazy, but I’ve watched them all and enjoyed them. 😊
I watched the entertainment weekly conversation between both Jacob Elordi (Nate) and Eric (cal). They spoke about the big confession that cal did. It was so interesting to see how they see their characters and what they think they are feeling/processing.
I'm surprised you didn't say how Lexi's affection can also be overcompensation to the rejection and ways people lash out at her. Because when she is more assertive the negatives are sometimes even worse, so she shrinks and silences herself into a ball of softness and sympathy to try and prevent people rejecting her. Sadly as people see you that way, when you speak out others' tolerance and patience is less than reasonable. You've become an absorber to their feelings, they can't be bothered with yours. Also harkens to Fez being the one guy to notice her and it just doing a lot for her despite how short and how it ended.
Yes! I'd love it if you reacted to season 1. I also saw you mention on someone else's comment that you might do a deep dive on each of the characters and I think that would be so brilliant and perfect for your channel.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with compassion towards these characters. Rue’s story is similar to a friend and a close family member in my life and it’s hard to hear how hateful people are towards a 17yr old struggling with immense loss.
I’m so happy I found your channel! Most of my friends do not watch Euphoria so when I want to have an extended convo about episodes I come to RUclips but a lot of the ppl reacting to the episodes are biased and are not empathetic at all. And maybe they’re that dense or maybe they get more views/likes for their black and white reviews but I am not a fan of their ignorance. Thank you for being so empathetic and seeing the whole picture and remembering that these characters are only 16/17 years old in high school dealing with some really harsh stuff
I LOVE them, I think what you’re doing is super awesome and so informative and you’re using this media in the way a show like this is meant to be used- to start and continue conversations about hard topics. Dissecting the episodes like you do it’s nearly mandatory while watching the show. Again, thank you for all your hard work and insight! 😊😊😊😊
The driving scene showed an interesting look into Elliott‘s personality and how manipulative that he can be. He purposely chose not to do the drugs that night with Rue even though she left some for him (because they do drugs together) blew it away instead (possibly to make rue think he did it) and then decided to drink instead knowing that Jules was going to drink and he was gonna drink (even though he shouldn’t drink because he’s driving ) and that that’s going to influence Rue to drink too. He set the stage for them to argue with Rue none the wiser to his treachery, and then proceeded to tell Rue not to drink loud enough to trigger Jules. Also he waited until they were alone to tell Jules about Rue’s relapse as if he wasn’t doing drugs right with her!!!!!
God I would love to see your reactions and commentary to season 1. It’s really interesting to see what you pull away from each episode from a clinical perspective.
Wow. I loved your commentary… really well spoken and you made SO many points that I missed. Please do season 1, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
god this show is so incredible it has so many layers to it and the cinematography is incredible. that church scene was such a special yet haunting moment - i lost my dad to cancer as well a couple of years ago and made plenty of mistakes and bad decisions just before and after he died so that scene hit me like a ton of bricks. your videos are amazing! keep it up
It gave me chills when you said that Lexi still cares about people who even treat her poorly and that's a tastement of how much love she have to give people, because I feel so connected to her, and it makes me realize that, sometimes, I give too much of myself to others or forget myself to make others feel better and loved. At this point, watching the character makes me think that, sometimes it's wrong to forget bout us for others, we end up suffering for not receive the same or not feel the same for ourselves.
So I went through a binge watching moment for reactions when the first episode of this season came out. Because of that, I kind of lost track of the ones I really enjoyed and I’m so happy I’m back to your channel. I really enjoy your commentary and perspective. 🤗
I'm a psychology student and I just can't wait to watch your analyses after each episode to compare them with what I picked up on! Keep filming the reactions!
I think in the scene when cal was like calling them out towards the end I feel like he was actually talking about/ to his dad & mom and the dynamic he had to grow up in and then at the end I think he goes back to speaking on his own family and basically how they made him realize more of himself and what he wants. So in a sense he feels more free
PLEASE react to season 1!! Especially as someone with bpd (i also have bpd and the connection between rue and jules really reminds me of some connections ive had), i would find it so insightful and interesting
Thank you for your reaction! I've watched so many people just ignore what a particular character is going through just because they stand them so it's really refreshing watching you go in depth with all the characters
the show is based on Israelian show (SPOILER) it's narrated by a ghost... that's why she knows everybody's story... also notice the narration is changing to Jules at the end i know next episode is still alive but i doubt she'll live at the end
I want to let you know that you make such a really great videos the thing you said about things in the episode make people not just realize about what happening in the show ,but everyone can relate to that too about their relationship their problems their parents and you really give a helpful perspective ,thank you
Jules just wants love and attention I think if she was getting what she gets from Elliot from Rue she wouldn't have kissed him. Jules knows Rue is back on drugs but is ignoring it bc of her love for Rue and feeling guilty like it's bc of her.
But you have to be honest with your partner if you want to explore intimacy with someone else, more so when Jules was so jealous about Rue even knowing Elliot
Someone also said, that portraying Cassie and Cal in this scene alsi refers to the feeling of not being sure where they are in their relationships. Cassie's drinking herself numb, because she doesn't know what she gets from Nate and Cal's coming back to the bar for the feeling of ruined love that might've happened if he hadn't stayed in relationship with Marsha. I hope I out it clearly, English's not my first language, so 😅😅 PS: Showing Rue's character hugging Labrinth, who "gave Euphoria life" with his soundtrack amd her dad, who's she like connected through his death? Harsh...
@@jamesliggins891 As I said, idk whether I rephrased it correctly. There was a better explanation made when I read it. Just remembering it makes it sound different...
I think it’s just shows how Mentaly messed up they are and actually they shouldn’t be getting much sympathy because first even though it’s okay for Cals heart to not be where it’s “suppose” to be, the speech he gave his family was totally wrong as a grown adult, father, and husband. Then Cassie proceeding to try and get Nates attention and getting super drunk at Maddy birthday party was all very disrespectful. So this isn’t a enlightening moment to give those characters redemption, they are being horrible people.
great analysis, I hop Rue can get closure somehow after this and I just like to think Cal meets Derek again and they get to rekindle some happiness even if its not perfect but content and stable ?
@@tizzbabe4386 I mean Cal peaked with his level of horribleness probably in episode 1 when he decided to have sex with a minor and actively going for trans people. I feel like there is no excuse for any of his behaviour, that's pretty clear by the fact that a lot of his actions are illegal. But him laughing at his son and stating that he is his biggest regrets is a positive within all that negative. This man has messed up everyone around him and seeing how he has messed up his son is probably what snapped him out of it. No one is getting any redemption here, Cal will probably deal with the consequences of having had sex with Jules, and Nate has put Tyler (don't know how we wrote his name) in prison, I don't think this will go unpunished.
yes plssss react to the specials, there’s so much to caked into them i would love to see broken down. and they’re just beautiful, esp Jules take on her trans identity
oh my gosh please react to s1!!! there are so many things in s2 that seem out of character that can actually be connected to s1, i would love to see all the dots being connected! so excited for the next video❤️
I do want you to know that cals tapes had a effect on nate as a kid in season 1 they show nate watching them and thats said to be the reason he didnt like his dad
Was waiting for this! Love binge watching your videos & they're always so helpful as I struggle with my mental health. ✨ So glad I found your channel & look forward to future videos. 🤍
6:05 why do you think Lexie had to be an Observer? It’s possible you’ve touched on that before and I’ve forgot about it, but I think I’m very much so an observer too. Is there a reason why people become that way?
what about the three boys in the family picture Cal takes of the wall? what do you think the psychological connection would be of losing a son to Cal's current action?
My biggest question about Rue is why she isn’t actively going to therapy and a psychiatrist? Or in inpatient treatment? (Not rehab) My story is scarily close to Rue. Born with mental illness, dad died when I was 14, substance abuse disorder, good stable parents, not really a reason to be messed up, etc. My life changed when I met my psychiatrist within 2 years I had a stable productive functioning life. Not to say I don’t have my struggles from now and then. I’m generally happy. In my experience if you have a background of mental illness N/A is only going to make you worse. Your brain isn’t stable high or sober, either you are going to overdose or k!ll yourself. You are getting advice from non-professionals that mainly tell you that ANY substance is going to mess up your chemicals in your brain, they were never right to begin with and to surrender yourself to a higher power? In my opinion sobriety isn’t necessarily the solution. The right medication along with a bunch of therapy and self care. DBT and CBT saved and gave me my life back. Sorry to any recovering addict that made it through N/A, I only lost my time. Also let’s note that not all people with substance abuse disorder are addicts. In my case once they realized that I had a couple mental disorders, the right medication did the trick and everything started to fall into place. Yes, I did go through the whole sobering up and then I got the right medication for both my disorders. After that I never wanted or wished for other pills that were not prescribed to me.
Yes, she absolutely should be. My mind goes to accessibility or appropriate therapists in her area or affordability maybe. However, the underlying reason may be because the writers would rather have her using substances to self manage. However, I do recall she was placed on a ton of medications growing up so perhaps they’re against it now in the household 🤔
@@the.truth.doctor that’s also something confusing to me. It was really clear on my case from an early age that I had issues. I was sent straight to therapy but I didn’t get medicated until I was 17. I know that it’s for entertainment purposes and all the interactions with the N/A people are accurate. I was sent to treatment and forced to go to N/A people like Ali, I know they have good intentions but you have a teenager that is in constant mental pain, bashing her about her substance abuse is no where near the root of her problems, nor telling her that ANY substance is going to make her worse. I would argue that the right drugs are needed. It took me 3 month to prove the clinical team that I wasn’t an addict. Then we worked on why I was using mostly painkillers and it was genuinely so I wouldnt panic or get aggressive out of the blue. Turns out that I had ADHD with ODD, generalized anxiety disorder and histrionic personality disorder. Yes, drama drama and even more drama was my style. I’m still an over the top person but I don’t go and fuck up my life because I can’t control myself.
@@jlopez665 From what I get, Rue has bipolar. I'm adhd too and have a friend who is bipolar, but I also have kinda read into the topic a while back. What doesn't make sense to me is, that Rue was diagnosed in an early age, which tells me that her parents actually made sure she gets treated for her condition, but I don't know if they ever prescribed medication to her, her depressive episode would suggest that she isn't using her meds. From experience, bipolar people oftentimes don't like to take their medication (look at example Kanye West lol) because they enjoy the manic episodes, eventhough they're haunted with the low depressive episodes. ADHD medication is different, it is basically awesome, it gives us the opportunity to focus, channel our energy into the things we want to work on and achieve our goals, there's mostly benefits and few disadvantages from the medication. Bipolars oftentimes love their bipolarity and often discontinue their medication because they prefer to have a manic state. Even my friend, who is very aware of the importance of her medication (since statistically 20% of bipolar people die from suicide, not the statistic of attempted suicide, but successful suicide) and she still stopped taking her medication. It's kinda complicated to get behind the thinking of a bipolar person, but I will just make the claim that Rue is in a tough spot because a traumatic event(her fathers death) has occured, and no one is really giving her the guidance through that time, and they all probably also didn't realise that Rue needed specific care for her illness and got neglected.
@@corneliahanimann2173 exactly that’s what confuses me so much. It’s not like I’m bragging but Rues actions are mild compared to the stunts that I would pull. That’s where my histrionic disorder came in. Apart from being on pills, I was insanely cruel and defiant (That’s the ODD). My mom would threaten me with anything, “just remember that I have no limits”. Call the police on me… “Mom just remember that you have business partners and I have their phone number, your choice”. After 2 years of this behavior she sent me to treatment, to a place where 1. I was a nightmare because of my mental illness. 2. The right medication, for the first time in my life I was able to breathe. 3. My therapist knew when to call my bluff and he was even more cruel that I was. Girls like Rue don’t need to be sober they need to be properly medicated and in therapy.
@@jlopez665 but you're kinda projecting your own illness onto Rue. Bipolar and histrionic are different things. Histrionic, from what I've learned, is mostly a coping mechanism and a lot of it is due to abandonment issues, which is not exactly a genetic thing. I'm sure you have a genetic condition, but the way it manifests is with histrionic disorder. Something i learned is, that a lot of mental illnesses and disorders are comorbid, you can for example have the symptoms of borderline personality disorder, but the symptoms are better explained by adhd and bipolar and autism being comorbid. This might be confusing because I'm not the best at explaining things. The bottom line is, that Rue is not histrionic but bipolar. Bipolar is an illness where you go from manic episodes to depressive episodes, these people experience emotions on a far more intense level than your average person does. There's this scene where Rue doesn't go to the toilet until her kidneys are infected. My bipolar friend related to that one a lot and said when she is going through a depressed episode, she might stay in her bed and pee in her bed because the effort of going to the toilet is too much for her. This is just an example for how intense these emotions get for bipolar people, a lot of them end up commiting suicide because they just can't handle the pain they're feeling. You can see Rue acting out and you relate to it.(I'm not judging you, you have your reasons, if I'm wrong with what I'm about to say, please correct me, I don't want to seem judgmental or insensitive) what I learned about histrionic is that they've given up trying to get positive attention and will settle for any type of attention. Rue is not acting like this because she is seeking attention, it's because she is literally scared of her own emotions when the numbing effect of the drugs stops working. She even said before, that this is the thing that keeps her from killing herself, and it's probably true, she is not ready to process the intense pain of her loss. Going to therapy still meand confronting her pain, getting medication still means there is an adjustment period and side effects and probably failed past attempts and right now her hormones are messed up from the drugs so she'll also have to get clean first. No matter ehich way she looks, she's faced with the ugly outlook that there will be a period where she is just exposed to this pain. It would be the right thing to do, but she needs to be ready to go down that road. She's literally supposed to say "yes" to suicidal episodes.
How much of a Cal's choice was actually his choice? We had 30 seconds of screentime with his dad and yeah... Cal was 18, got a girl pregnant and was in love with a man. Did he really have a choice?
I agree here for sure. This is similar to “addiction is a choice”. Sure, they made a choice but what options did they have to choose from. I think what I was trying to convey was a balance between what he was saying to them about it being all them and the fact that it was also him too. It’s definitely never just “a choice”, it’s multi-factorial ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks for clearing things up in the intro. I was one of the people who was telling you about Rue and Ali’s conversations in the last video 😳 sorry haha. I think the reason I wanted to explain it further was because your first reaction to it was “no he’s not gonna hit you !?!” So I kinda thought you just took what she said at face value, when it was actually so much deeper than that. Also I love watching your reactions 💛.
I love your reactions so much and I would LOVE if you reacted to the other episodes but ESPECIALLY the specials! I feel like there's SO much to talk about from those episodes alone. You're so well spoken and you provide so much valuable insight into the psychology and addictions of the characters!
I love watching your videos! It would be awsome for you to watch Grand Army as well There is just so much that happens to the characters that I would like to know about the psychological parts of them
I would love to see you do a video on just Maddie. I think her relationship with Nate and the way she veiws the situation has a lot to do with her parents. She’s very interesting to me.
thank u for this Dr Courtney!! im a cis gay male (still closeted) bc family bloodline members r really homophobic lol. and i take personal responsibility to heal my childhood trauma by setting non-violent boundaries with friends and family yeay!!! i am proud of myself because it has been really humbling, recently i realised i had a limerence episode with a straight human (and he ghosted me) and i have to teach myself how to get back up and process my grief and bitterness in a healthy way(i have a background of porn addiction) so yeah im really proud of my recovery journey :)

When I first watched this episode that what’s it for me. Not “he’s in love with maddy”, but “he’s in the same state he was when he was arguing with maddy”
My brother would call me our dog's name the same way when ever i annoyed him lol.
Yes! that's what I was thinking too!
This is weird lol
I’ve experienced this exactly
Apparently, there’s an interview that just came out, where Eric (Cal) talks about the line “you’re my biggest regret”. He explained that it’s not that he regrets having him, but that he feels regret for not being a good parent to him. Something along these lines. And that puts the scene into a whole new perspective 🤯
Ouuuu that makesss senseee
Thank you for saying it’s ok to be empathetic to the characters, including cal and Nate. Watching this has made me so sad for them, and people are just so quick to say “we don’t need to know Cals back story, he’s trash”, everybody has a reason why they do things. You can empathize without agreeing with their actions and I feel like a lot of people don’t understand that
100 percent were all humans on this planet trying to figure out how to be happy ` wishing you well~
I like how you pointed out how Elliot is really just being used by Rue and Jules.
@@ToxicFunnyNes yeah after episode 5 take back my take om Elliot, i was wrong, he really is a genuine person
So thank you for sharing your empathy and these really important messages through your reaction videos!
i just watch a reaction video for the second episode and the youtuber said cassie should die because what she's doing for maddy that was fuckd up she just a kid so is nate they don't deserve to die and also people disgusts me the fact they forgive cal because what happened to him and derek but still hate on nate for being his father son says a lot about them
If I was Nate Id go straight to doing drugs after that :-(.

Did you notice how rue was narrating the whole thing up until the very last bit where jewels ended up narrating. Also rue was in that church holding her dad hugging him talking to him makes me wonder if she overdosed again.
I wondered this too
I did see that they flashed her dad in the scene. I DID NOT notice it was Jules voice at the end. I agree, she may have ODd. That’s going to be rough to react to.
Cal makes me laugh so hard in this episode. I know he's awful but Eric Dane is a gem here!

Rue was in SO MUCH pain in that church. Like i was crying w her
she was in the spirit world hugging labyrinth - me too :(
I think the main reason cal was laughing throughout parts of that speech was because of the head trauma + drinking. and I guess he's pretty unstable right now. but man, he really messed up his family there, lol.
a lot of people laugh when they're stressed.
@@corneliahanimann2173 I mean yeah, that's the whole "unstable" thing
The first thing I thought of after this episode was what you were going to say in your video!
This episode was....A LOT 😳 I'm so glad you tuned into my show, I hope you like the video!
Literally same
No Fr I am so happy I’m not the only one

i always found it fascinating the difference between how cassie and lexi have acted so far despite their similar upbringings. although cassie obviously had more attention as a young child, i would think this would be even more damaging to lexi and would make her want to act out more in order to get attention she lacked as a child. i would love to hear your thoughts on the two and why you think they are so different
good point they are night and day- Cassie is very emotional and seeks validation whereas Lexi seems very grounded, motherly and emotionally healthy for the most part.Lexi is definitely the anamoly here too as both her mom is a alcoholic and her dad became an addict.
I’m doing a deep dive on the characters after the season is over! I’ll do one on both of them ❤️
@@the.truth.doctor that would be awesome thank you!!
Loved this!!
@@heligolightly that is a great point!
I don’t think being closeted has nothing to do with “choosing” to be straight just bc it’s “privileged.”
it makes me so happy to finally see a channel/person that doesn’t just laugh at and condemn nate despite how much onscreen pain he experiences. they ignore his humanity in favour of thinking he deserves to suffer. nate is so complex as a character, he’s actually my favourite in the show bc of this, and it’s just nice to see his trauma/pain be acknowledged- especially the parentification stuff.

Some youtubers are here just for the memes, they try to look like bad bitches being happy for what Cal is doing to Nate, for what's happening to Cassie, for Rue doing drugs because she's "too weak and i lost my patience with her"
if this is how they act towards characters in a tv show, how would they react if it happened to somebody they knew, in real life?
That would be amazing and thank you!
@@the.truth.doctor Brilliant! Here’s a few recommendations:
My Mad Fat Diary (was very popular here, not my personal favourite but first series is interesting in terms of mental health stuff)
Alma’s Not Normal (been extremely popular, I love it, only 6 thirty minute episodes, lots of stuff with mental health, trauma etc)
A Street Cat Named Bob (film, I think it did well in various countries)
Don’t Call Me Crazy (excellent three part documentary that was popular here)
Louis Theroux Talking to Anorexia (another documentary, I preferred don’t call me crazy but still interesting)
Overshadowed (very short episodes, so only 60-80 minutes total I believe, watched it a few years ago and thought it was good at representing certain things)
My personal favourites at the moment are Alma’s Not Normal and Don’t Call me Crazy, but I’ve watched them all and enjoyed them. 😊
I watched the entertainment weekly conversation between both Jacob Elordi (Nate) and Eric (cal). They spoke about the big confession that cal did. It was so interesting to see how they see their characters and what they think they are feeling/processing.
I saw this too! Amazing.
Also harkens to Fez being the one guy to notice her and it just doing a lot for her despite how short and how it ended.
would love to see your reactions to season one and especially the special episodes

Oh and he was the one who was like are you drinking jules didn’t even notice ofc

It gave me chills when you said that Lexi still cares about people who even treat her poorly and that's a tastement of how much love she have to give people, because I feel so connected to her, and it makes me realize that, sometimes, I give too much of myself to others or forget myself to make others feel better and loved.

Now this is the one thing I did not notice!
My biggest question about Rue is why she isn’t actively going to therapy and a psychiatrist? Or in inpatient treatment? (Not rehab)
My story is scarily close to Rue.
Hii Trace!! Love your content so much!! Love your lense
Yes! i was waiting all day for this can’t wait
I just found your channel and now I look after to your reaction to Euphoria!
Yes. We need season 1 reacts.
You make the episodes better tbh. HBO show hire you and make this it’s own series!!
Omg I would LOVE this.
Love your reactions, definitely another insight it's always interesting 🤔
see that's why I like these reactions cuz I feel like you are dropping knowledge while reacting
That’s the goal so thanks! ☺️
I live for this series thank you ☺️
How much of a Cal's choice was actually his choice? We had 30 seconds of screentime with his dad and yeah... Cal was 18, got a girl pregnant and was in love with a man. Did he really have a choice?
I agree here for sure. This is similar to “addiction is a choice”. Sure, they made a choice but what options did they have to choose from. I think what I was trying to convey was a balance between what he was saying to them about it being all them and the fact that it was also him too. It’s definitely never just “a choice”, it’s multi-factorial ❤️🙏🏼
yes please do season 1!
I loved that you commented. Others did too and I’m hear to clear things up and make sure you all can trust my perspective. I appreciated it :)

It would be awsome for you to watch Grand Army as well
There is just so much that happens to the characters that I would like to know about the psychological parts of them
Yessss react to season 1!!!!!!! And specials!!!
love it!
Would love to see your reaction to season 1 and the special episodes!!
yes yes yes, please react to season one and the specials!!!!💕💕✨
Kinda crazy how much people have to explain themselves because someone else expects you to have every little detail memorized 🤨 Anyway, loved the commentary like usual.
