I'm ELATED that you did not pick that nasty not-really-milk crap like almond or soy. However, I have my favorite chocolate milks and, to add insult to injury, the best chocolate milk I've ever tasted was by a dairy in Virginia called Shenandoah's Pride which is no longer in existence thanks to its parent company, the now defunct Dean's Foods, Inc. Nesquick has changed their chocolate milk taste over the years. It tasted awesome when I was in high school. I heard self life of nesquick depending on their flavors its between 2 to 3 years.

I haven't had decent store bought chocolate milk since Hershey's used to make whole milk chocolate milk back in the early 00s.
Now I just make my own. We also have amazing chocolate milk at work. I work at a college and the dining halls have flavored milk from a local dairy. Thier chocolate milk is amazing. Much better than anything you can get in a store. Unfortunately I can only have it at work. Otherwise I would buy at least a gallon a week. Probably for the best that I can't.
my favorite chocolate milk is Darigold old fashioned chocolate milk, if you have never tried it, it is a chocolate milk worth drinking.

If you think Hershey's is good you have never had truly good chocolate milk. You get some whole milk, sugar, cacao powder, cornstarch and a pinch of salt and vanilla, throw on a stove. Hershey's will taste like actual shit in comparison.

Chocolate Milk straight from the jug from an brand is normally too sweet for me, I normally do a 50/50 chocolate to white ratio. But the only brand I don't have to do that with is TrueMoo, it's wonderful on its own.

You have to watch out on milk. Tru moo could be bottled under the store label for half the cost. You have to go but the plant number on the bottle. Like Lucerne, It is made by Safeway out of Az .

Hands down the best chocolate milk on Earth is "Promised Land" at Krogers. It's a bit expensive ,but it's worth every penny and it tastes like melted chocolate ice cream. It is the best!

Gad Yisrael I know, you're right, but it's a powder that u mix with milk, so it's called "chocolate milk"
It also comes pre mixed, so it is.
Bottled Nesquick tastes weird because it's UHT pasteurized and specially sealed so there are no germs to spoil it - this means it doesn't need to be refrigerated (until its opened) but the way it's pasteurized gives milk a weird taste.

The best chocolate milk to ever exist was Hershey's own in the half gallon paper cartons that had the same design and labeling as the chocolate bars. They have their "Milkshake" varieties in plastic bottles but not nearly the same as the original. As far as what's always available, I am partial to Rock View Farms and Nesquik for ready made, Hershey's syrup and whole milk at home.

I used to like the nesquik one because it was super creamy. But then they started making only the low fat one and it wasn't that great anymore 😑
A more accurate way to judge these would include cleansing your palate in between each taste. Otherwise, good experiment!
