Didn’t see the Railmaster coming. I owned that reference and loved it. Main criticisms were weight on wrist, AR coating on crystal surface susceptible to scratching, and no screw down crown. Per the fautina, it matched everything I ever wore. And was preferable by far to the original radium. 😂
Glad to stumble over your channel 👌🏽 I have the perfect 2 watch collection for me; 36mm Rolex Explorer for my go anywhere do anything. Grand Seiko SBGW291 as the dressy weekend Probably both classed as boring but for me they are timeless, whats your thoughts?
I think the 36mm explorer is perfect and the most versatile watch on earth, and the GS isn’t quite as perfect, however works amazingly for a dress piece, 9.5/10 collection dude! Also appreciate the kindness :)
Agreed BB58 best daily wear or any Black Bay. Most wouldn't daily a Rolex equivalent Sub/GMT. Rolex Pepsi in oyster bracelet my pick. More flair than other Tudor/Rolex models without being blingy. Omega Diver 300 for those that wear 42mm+ case size. Very clean design. Longines Pilot and IWC pilot in blue leather are good under the radar watches in any crowd. AP Royal Oak to make a statement. For those on a budget, the Seiko Speedtimer Chrono Pepsi at $1k if you don't mind solar powered. Don't know why it's not auto movement.
Dont know if this is an unpopular opinion, but the Nautilus is waaay better looking and elegant than the Royal Oak. The RO looks very unrefined and rough (specially with those hideous screws on the bezel) whilst the Nautilus has a more elegant and luxurious look to it. The RO looks like a $800 watch compared to a $10.000 look of the Nautilus
It was a smiths and a Rolex there’s debate, either way Rolex explorer 1 was the first or second and that’s what it’s known for! And I’m still confused on how you pronounce Basel watch fair sorry lad could ya break it down for me xD And have a good Christmas too!
@@WatchConnoisseurClub Morning, thank you for the reply. Regarding the presence of Rolex on the summit. Hillary was issued a Smiths, not a Rolex, and Norgay was likely wearing a Smiths, too. Rolex publicly retracted its claim that a Rolex was worn on the summit after the CEO of Smiths wrote a letter in complaint to a Rolex advertisement. Rolex has never claimed to have submitted that day, since. Search for “Smiths were the only watches worn on the summit of Everest in '53. The proof” for an excellent article. I’d link it but comments with links get auto-deleted. Additionally, even if a Rolex was there (which it 99% wasn’t), the watches issued by Rolex to the Expedition were modified OPs (6098) not Explorers. The Explorer was made to celebrate the assent.
Hey brother! This video is awesome! From the transitions to the lovely music! I saw your comment on the other video but I couldn't respond. Hope you have a great week! 😁👌
Heya my main man! Yeah it got a copyright strike with that music so I had to re-upload with new music and thought I’d change that screen following my face thing as people didn’t seem to like it, hope you enjoyed it much more this time round!
An amazing budget watch for sure! Probably the best diver for the price, but perfect? Not quite, still one of the best divers for sure though and a great pick!
As requested, this is what I am (orwas ) wearing. It is but one of my collection. Others include a vintage 2002 Rolex Oyster perpetual, Oris Aquis, Citizen Brycen Titanium among others. By the way, I agree that the Cartier Tank is perfection. I want the XL Solar Beat.@@WatchConnoisseurClub
I’ve gotta disagree but we all have personal taste! And that’s a fair point I see your issue with it but I’m a fan personally. Have a good Christmas lad/las!
Didn’t quite make the list for me! They’re both top 20 perfect modern watches though for sure, though I don’t like the speedy and I think the sub isn’t quite as nice as the Rolex on this list ;)
hehe cant wait for your upcoming accuracy tests of microbrands VS Seikos video😁
“A Man and His Watch” is truly a great book. I’ve read it cover to cover. 👍🏻
Apart from the 3 I’ve listed a very good selection. Very good taste. Well done.
Much appreciated lad!

The railmaster is really under-appreciated to me, it’s the explorer 1 of omega, versatile and basic but proportioned well and done perfectly!
Yep, didn't see the railmaster heading our way. Interesting.
I got sick of watching your hands flapping around after a few mins
Lmao

Glad I found your channel.
Rolex Explorer and Santos Dumont for me. Suggest looking at the Richard Lange three hand. It looks perfect to me too.
Two of the most perfect watches available, I agree
As for affordable, sporty plus elegant, accurate and durable, ANY Longines or Tag Heuer.

Wanna say that I wish you a Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones ❤🙏💐🤗😘😘
And you my main man! Sorry about no vids over Christmas, way too busy!
@@WatchConnoisseurClub no problem 😌🤗💐😘take your time 🤗
What the heck is ‘zee’? Do you mean ‘zed’?
There was no Rolex on top on Everest in 1953. It was a Smiths.
Basel = Bar’sle not Baz’il

No such thing as a perfect watch. I own 32 and have owned 100s of others
Fair enough to say but these aren’t far off you gotta admit that 😉
Of course that's a matter of taste.

Nice timepiece! Wouldn’t say it’s in the same category as this list but maybe it’ll make it to my list of the nicest budget watches!
Reverso DuoFace
Fair opinion! Very interesting piece with a great magic trick!
Rudi where are you?!?😢
Back for good now ;)
@@WatchConnoisseurClub happy to know I was worried !
Nice collection, exept they are all hideously expensive for an average guy. Not for the average guy.
Don’t worry a “10 budget watches that are close to perfect” will be made at some point :)
@@WatchConnoisseurClub Now that sounds fun. Looking forward to see it.
Not a fan of faux patina.
I mean I am a vintage collector most of my stuff has some lovely natural patina
longines lug to lug is a tad too long for its proportions.

Well, not realistic video….not everyone can buy only high end brands….
