Teddy, I have been collecting for 2 years now, and the Bambino Gen 2 was what I chose for a dress watch, even over $1000 Swiss and German choices. I have been wearing it as a daily for a month now and it is incredible. Stunning watch and your reviews helped me purchase. Really great value for money.
I got the 35mm light blue PRX for my girl as her first "real" watch. She hasnt taken it off for weeks and I think it's safe to say we have a new quartz collector in the community
Real watch??.? Every watch is real watch as long showing the time. No matter how much it costs or is digital or automatic or smart watch, swiss, Japanese or German. You just need like your watch and enjoy when you wearing!!!!!!
I’ve always looked at Omega as being well known for their divers in the beginning. Before the speedy the Seamaster’s were around, but they’ve changed so much throughout the years. My first is the SMP 300m “great white” I finally saved enough to get this watch. It may be cliche but I’m shooting for a ceramic sub next. Although the Cartier Santos is one I’ve always thought should be in the conversation for collectors watches.
Definitely agree with the Hamilton Khaki. Bought the Khaki Field Automatic as my first watch and wear it every day. Still obsessed with it and has really opened me up to the world of watches. Hoping to get a PRX Powermatic next
I wouldn't have considered a Tissot before the PRX, but now I love mine. That brand did nothing for me, but this latest group of offerings is incredible from them.
The Explorer 124270 is one of those watches that you need to live with in order to appreciate. When I first picked up my Exp 36 it wore like no other watch I’ve owned or worn. I’d felt odd in size. After a week I can say it is the best balanced, best wearing, a subtle perfect watch .
Well I have to agree with this list as a proud owner of the G-Shock Oak and the open heart Orient Bambino and currently looking for wether the Tudor or stretching to the Grand Seiko Snowflake. And that PRX can't be ignored... Very well picked
Teddy - this is awesome. My collection so far is fairly off the beaten path in terms of “classics” so it’s nice to see what might be a great next option. Santos de Cartier, Vostok Amphibian, Omega DeVille, Zenith Calendar (Vintage Gold), and a Victorinox Quartz Chrono.
I went for the alternatives - SM300 , Willard, Pogue,Murph, Lunar Pilot, T-Touch, Laco Buhr.... Seems like I also get watches with names rather than long reference numbers 🤣 Good video, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Really great macroscopic video, great and fair pics, well explained. As always the breadth and depth of your knowledge and quality of your videos sets the standard. Great to see the Tissot PRX feature. It really is a game change for quality vs value. Not sure there’s any watch at the quality until you get to over 5x the price point ! Broadly agree with the pics…although feel maybe Longines and Tag Heuer deserve honourable mentions….maybe instead of Orient…..but then we get into subjective territory! Great job. Great quality. Thank you for making these.
I like the JLC Reverso, if you put it on the brown polo strap it really tones it down. I also have the black alligator for dress up. This one watch, with 2 straps, is the best all-around watch for a one watch collect. With 2 faces and 2 straps, it's like 4 watches in 1.
Bravo!! Excellent selection of watches most of us enthusiasts love wholeheartedly. As a collector of mostly entry-level watches, my favorites here are definitely the "CasiOak", the Bambino and the PRX. I own all 3 of them, and I agree with everything you said about them!
One worry I think some have about the PRX is the size which was slightly addressed with the new 35mm quartz options, but still left those who desire an auto in the lurch. However I recently saw that there is an 18k gold fluted bezel version of the 35mm which features an automatic movement which just released, so it shouldn't be too long before the 35's get an auto too, which will open up a whole new world for a lot of smaller wrists
All great picks! I was actually expecting to see the Omega Seamaster as well, but you had already included the Speedy, and then remembered, only one entry per watch brand.
The Orient Bambino I think is sensational, and this is coming from someone who owns Rolex, Omega and LJC. I love the Tissot PRX auto in the blue dial. I got sucked into the Black Bay back in the day but the case shape is horrible. The BB58 is the only BB you should consider. The SKX is a fun piece and I have many SKX-focussed mods. If you want SKX fun make one yourself from aftermarket parts/mod stores. The snowflake is a great piece but I can't get into GS steel bracelet watches because I don't like their bracelets.
Thanks for this video, Teddy! I'm looking to get a Orient, JLC Reverso and Cartier soon. Loving my Rolex Submariner, Tissot PRX, Casio Oak, Seiko and Rado Xeramo. 😊⌚️
If you could include a 2nd one from any brand I'd say Omega Aqua Terra, very widely appreciated and I've never come across anyone who is negative about it.
The SKX was my first true enthusiast watch and I will always love it. I always wanted the 009 but the 007 I have goes along very well with my new PADI Turtle. Great watches for the price and definitely a gateway to the more high end watch world.
I am a 100% mechanical watch guy, preferably vintage, but I was a teen and a twen in the 80's and 90's and for sentimental reasons, my watch collection wouldn't be complete without a G-Shock. I got the one presented here with white body and black dial and combined with my white puma sneakers with the black stripes and applications it looks fncking badass.
Just got my hands on a Doxa Sub 200 Sharkhunter, my first diver watch. I’ve seen some mixed reviews on this specific watch, mostly good - some not so good, but I’m absolutely in love with it. Such a solid watch & it’s absolutely gorgeous. I know it’s not on this list but I feel it could be an honorable mention.
Well, I've got one of the twelve. It's coming up on a month since my Reverso Tribute in Burgundy arrived at the AD. I thought about this watch for three years and it was worth every penny. Maybe there'll be Tank Louis in my future, but for now I'm definitely set when it comes to squared-off watches.
I’m glad I got the black bay before they changed to the shield logo. Also, I love the explorer. You can rock it in completely different situations with the bracelet or a leather strap
Great video, Teddy. I know you mentioned the Omega Speedmaster. The Omega Constellation annual calendar green dial is also stunning and under appreciated by watch enthusiasts in the US. Another is the Omega Seamaster…..classic and timeless watch. You can never get tired of this divers watch. Breitling has really made a nice comeback lately. The “pistachio “ dial has been sought after and a challenge to get at retail. IWC spitfire with the bronze bezel is also a classic pilot watch and at an affordable price point for watch collectors. Thank you for all you your reviews!
Back in 1988 -1990 I had a stainless steel G-Shock. It came with a rubber wrist strap that I didn't like so I gave it a nice Seiko style clasp wristband that matched the brush grain perfect. I wore it on my wrist as I visited a pawn shop in Orlando on 441 trail. The pawn shop owner liked it so much that he offered me the jewelled movement multilanguage Seiko day/date that I recognized as his Vietnam conflict era purchase - that he had bought it while in Saigon. We traded. The gasket on my new Seiko let sea water in. It quit working. An old german watchmaker in Charlestown, S.C. fixed it for $275. I returned to Orlando and some guy raised his wrist up showing me his watch as he left a burner with his corvette. Hey that guy's rubbing it in that he got over on me! Nah. I got the better watch! I don't want to know.
I totally agree with all choice. Well done. Start up with my favorite hamilton and end up with a dream Patek Phillipe. Its like a well served fine dine.
Hamilton khaki auto is my first real watch and despite having other brands, the hamilton is the one I still wear every weekday. It is just a solid watch for any office situation.
I took off my Hamilton Khaki 44mm this morning, put on my Seiko SK009. On Wednesday I’ll go back to work with either a G Shock, Omega Aqua Terra 41 or Omega Diver 300. My Seiko is an original, but I’m starting to feel like a runner up in all areas! After this video I dare not mention my no date sub……………..
Hi Teddy, love all your videos. Excellent choice. I would add Longines HydroConquest, Zulu time and Flagship Heritage. All for the reasons of the combination of quality/look/price/Swiss/some heritage.
Too funny. In my collection I have the all black casioak, black prx80, brown khaki field, and my current “grail” is the blue Pelagos. I’m glad Teddy likes my style haha Reverso is on my list too.
It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work. And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
Great watches mentioned here. I actually have a few on this list. Happy to see G-Shock on the list. Those things are bullet proof. I love mine actually.
Great presentation, I would have included also an IWC portuguese and a Zenith Chronomaster. For the entry budget, I would have included a citizen "solar" (eco-drive) diver watch. Finaly for the cartier, I prefer the "American" tank, much more elegant thant the regular tank.
I got my son the Casio GShock B2100 for his 13th birthday and he loves it, he's also ready to expand his collection. Looks like I've created a new watch collector.
The Citizen "Lefty" automatic diver deserves at least an honourable mention in comparison to the SKX. It was for some time the official dive watch of the Italian Navy (Marina Militare). Unlike the SKX you can still find new examples quite cheaply, and the newer uprated models with sapphire crystals and hacking movements are much cheaper than NOS SKXs.

Nice video! I've got both the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Green and then Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38 Black... Although they both share the same Powermatic 80 movement, they're super different watches yet both pack so much value for the money.
I'm looking to buy one of those two watches (now that there's a 35mm PRX powermatic), will be an everyday wear. If you could only keep one of those two - which one would you keep? And if you don't mind, could I press you for a why??
@@nathshaw Tough choice, but I think I'd keep the PRX. Simply because the design and integrated bracelet look fairly unique and feel great on the wrist. The Hamilton ticks every box as well, but feels slightly less versatile.
Hi Teddy, love your videos. I wanted to ask if you could do a video on Marine Chronometers? Not sure how much information is out there on this type of watch style though, would be great if you could share more about it.
I always wanted a Hamilton for work but at the time I was comfortable using a watch that cost $300 plus for a beat up watch (but the functions were specific to my job). I bought a Seiko field watch as an alternative because it cost me $120. Now I have easily pass that comfort zone in banging up a $500 watch but at this point I do not want to have 2 watches that do the same job. Hamilton is amazing for its purpose.
Ben, just a word regarding Seiko versus Citizen idea. A few years ago I bought a Seiko watch which was solar-powered. I was having an issue with it and knew I was coming close to the warranty expiration. I had held on for an exorbitant amount of time to speak with a customer service representative. In the background, I heard a very busy call center. Since I had managed a network operations center and knew how insanely busy those offices could be I asked the young woman if there was a better time I could contact her. She told me that the following Monday would be a much better time for her. I took her at her word and contacted her the following Monday as she had suggested. I was terribly disappointed when she told me that my warranty had expired. I said that I presumed since I had begun a ticket number that my warranty expiration date I would be covered. She told me no, that was not true. Needless to say, I have never bought another Seiko since that phone call. As Citizen watches are just a dash more money, if I'm looking for a watch in that price point, I will ALWAYS BUY A CITIZEN. ALWAYS. Since that time, I've moved up to Omega, Tissot, and Carl F. Bucherer watches. If I might suggest, it doesn't take that much effort for watch collectors to move up to higher prices watches, and doing so does not require that much work. The watches are much nicer, hold their value longer, and often increase in value. The last note can allow collectors to make money while enjoying collecting watches. What could be more fun than that?
@@soulsphere1749 The way I see it, if the display is small as the one in Casioak is, you're better off with a positive display for digital. Just my 2 cents though. Also go for the Grey one since this goes well with all fabric colors one would normally wear.
Beautiful collection! I have only 3 of these 12, the Seiko SKX009 , the Black Bay (Pro GMT) and the Omega Speedmaster. But I have similar watches like the Longines MC Chrono moonphase, the Seiko SARB035 and the ML Aikon. I would love to own a JLC reverso, it might well be my next objective . A solid , solid choice. Thank you as always.
How do you like the Longines? I always thought about buying it, but I already have a Hydroconquest, and I usually like to have different brands. The MC chrono tho is something.
Just purchased the new moon watch and love it! Love the Explore but hate the new 36mm size. Have the khaki field mechanical. BlackBay 58 is definitely on my short list Good list overall. I like to see something from Sinn on this list as well.
As someone who is kinda tired of Rolexes, you're absolutely right. The explorer is a very beautiful timepiece and maybe the only one I'd consider. I'm very very happy with how my Speedmaster and PRX automatic have treated me so in all honesty, I'll never take the leap to Rolex but I can appreciate the explorer for sure!

@@jec45 Thank you. As soon as stores here in NZ get 35mm PRX in stock, I'll head in to try on.
Good choices!
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway……
Yes your right this watches I like
Hi Teddy, love your videos. I wanted to ask if you could do a video on Marine Chronometers? Not sure how much information is out there on this type of watch style though, would be great if you could share more about it.
tu pasión es contagiosa y peligrosa XD keep the great work!
I would include the Seiko 5. Great Video!
Feeling happy as a Grey Casioak owner ! Glad to see it's been featured in the video as well as in the intro !
The more I see that nice Gray one, the more I think my Black one needs a stablemate!
@@soulsphere1749 The way I see it, if the display is small as the one in Casioak is, you're better off with a positive display for digital. Just my 2 cents though. Also go for the Grey one since this goes well with all fabric colors one would normally wear.
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway….
I think this list should also include some Nomos, Oris Aqwa date, Rado Captain Cook, or Stowa Cliger classic pilot watch! 😍👌🤗
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway….
How do you like the Longines? I always thought about buying it, but I already have a Hydroconquest, and I usually like to have different brands. The MC chrono tho is something.
@@craigriley9892 Hi . I have used it in my rotations frequently. It takes time to adjust but after that it is a beauty. Cheers
Just purchased the new moon watch and love it! Love the Explore but hate the new 36mm size. Have the khaki field mechanical. BlackBay 58 is definitely on my short list Good list overall. I like to see something from Sinn on this list as well.
@@polygoncoco Depends on wrist size. Anything 7” & above the new 36 looks far too dainty imho.
@@polygoncoco I tried it on and it still just looks wrong I.e too small, but everyone to their own.
I can't even agree with myself! My watch taste is always changing and always open
Have both the SKX009 and the PRX Powermatic 80, both well deserving of being in this list IMO.
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway..
Tissot PRX my first automatic love the watch, great bracelet
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway……..
I love Seiko watches. So good looking! Best price/quality for me.
The Sinn 104 is definitely a watch that should be on the list!
Congrats, you've been selected for the giveaway..
