@chaddone As much as they are great they vastly overpriced also. For the price of single D215s you could have 2 stack of two Arendals 1723 1v and still change left while it would absolutely own Perlisten. You pay a lot for this extra output in single box and certification. Not worth it. Worth mentioning same guy who designed Perlisten designed Arendals also. You should also compare this to the M&K X15+ subwoofer, which I believe was the first Dominus Certified subwoofer. But it's also 3KW (Short Term) vs 700W RMS. You never know. The M&K might give it a run for its money.
The Perlisten D215S is a carbon copy of the M&K X15. Lars Johansen was bought out of M&K and started Perlisten. He took all his knowledge from M&K with him to Perlisten. That´s why Perlistens products have so many features directly copied from M&K. They even include a set of white gloves with the D215S, something M&K have done with their Thx products for ages. Allthough the D215S looks sweet, I´d definately go with the M&K X15+ instead. Same technology but 2000$ cheaper
Just by looking at Shane’s happy face you know this gonna be a great one. 3KW? My two subs added together is just about that, and THX Dominus? Need bigger room for this for sure. This would require how much viewing distance on paper? 20feet? Wow

The sun is from a PA system and it it’s 600w it’s very heavy too and the bass is so intense that I almost cracked the drywall beside it. I have also a small 8inch that can reach 25hz but I rarely use it because my big sub sound way better lol

My guess is, if a person can afford to buy one D215s they can probably find a way to buy 2 of them. So now it becomes a question of what brand of 4 subs would sound better or out do a pair of D215s subs because I don’t think the majority of Perlisten buyers are going to buy just one D215s
@@ajstruhar2048 Im guessing it would be similar because full marty is way bigger but 2x15" got more of cone area. Push pull is also decent with eliminating some harmonics although some people claim its not hearable

The placement of a single D215S will be in the center back, but 2x single 15 will go nicely below the screen. Any thoughts?
I’m sure the build quality and performance are top notch, but the value is questionable. I can think of a couple of good sounding and measuring subs that are far less expensive: JTR S1 and Powersound Audio TV42 Ipal. Sure some of the distortion numbers may be a bit higher, but for sheer low end performance. I believe either of these wouldn’t be ashamed in a head to head comparison, and for far less money.

How would you compare this to some of JTRs offerings?
Hey Shane have you ever reached out to Funk Audio to review their subwoofers?
I would love to see this VS the Rythmik G25HPSE. According to the charts the Rythmik has quite a bit more output for about 1/3 of the price. It would be hard to beat Rythmik on sound quality as well. What do you think?
This is the best I've heard yet.
These direct to consumer companies make decent stuff for the money, and they are a good value but in my experience they'll never best the real names you find at a proper Hi-Fi dealer. The D215s is the best sub I've ever heard short of a JL Gotham, and I've heard almost everything.
@@lukerestlessstudios I had dual JL audio fathom F113. Not impressive compared to direct to consumer offerings. G25HPs demolish them. Not even close. Especially on sound quality.
@@MusclesAVS Fair enough. Though the PerListen’s defeat Fathoms as well.
Muscles, maybe you can get them and let us know. I follow you, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you did. 😆
How does this compare to D212S?
What DB is it in ypur room?
Just out of curiosity. How do they stack up to jtr subs?
If I was setting up a home theater from scratch would u go with 2 SVS 1600 or this sub that you are going crazy about ?
SVS is no where near being in the same conversation as this.
Mandk has same thx certification
Have you ever checked jtr400ulf? Would like to get your opinion about it please.
