"AFFORDABLE" KIRK HAMMETT GREENY, NEW "DIMEBAG" GUITAR & 25TH HARLEY BENTON ANNIVERSARY?? Видеоклипы
No ASKgufish next week, I'll be on my first cruise ever. Gonna try to get some content lined up for y'all so you don't even miss me but oof, what do you think is going on at Jackson...?
Massive thanks to Ridge for bringing you today's video! Streamline your life: ridge.com/agufish and use code AGUFISH for 10% off and free worldwide shipping!
I use guitars that I built myself and I put pickups in them that represent my influence to that guitar shape.
Have fun on your cruise!
As far as Gibson goes, I feel like they’re still so out of touch with today’s players. They could seriously take more of the market if they changed a few things. The push at the high end purchase prices is ok but nothing else seems to have changed or been updated. I am a lover of so many Gibson guitars but feel like that love is limited to a few models.
@Arthur Gonzales that's why I build my own guitars and put the pickups in that I like
@@raymondjallen I have a lot of custom guitars but there's never enough! Haha
Well Im an avid follower of Herman Li, and for the last year hea has been playing EVERYTHING, from unkown brands to PRS. I think he is off contract with Ibanez and shopping around with different brands...
RIP to the Squier Bullet series. My first guitar was also a Squier Bullet Strat. Might want to get one again someday for nostalgia
Mick playing a eclipse is killer. ❤
Epiphone Greeny would be bigger than Adam Jones if done right.
100% Agreed
Could you imagine an Epiphone Hammett V? Drool...
They are making the Epiphone Greeny a Gibson headstock, from the Epiphone factory leaking photos
I'm not sure that will be the case. Is another yellow LP all that in demand? Pretty hard to top the paint and specs on the AJ sig. If this Gibson shape headstock rumor is true, who knows?
@@andrewbecker3700 No kidding mate, it’s 100% true. The Epiphone China factory just arranged a factory tour facing all Gibson China dealers last month. Some dealers secretly took pictures of that Greeny, it’s in satin finish with a Gibson headstock.
I would love to see how an E-II Eclipse compares to your standard series Eclipse. Would be a really interesting video to see on the channel
I have both. They seem almost the same. Both are great imo.
Mick Thomson's ESP is gonna be the same basic specs as his Ibanez and Jackson models. 25.5 inch scale Super Strat, Non Functional Floyd Rose style bridge, reverse headstock and active pickups.
If I ever were in the market for a Standard Greeny, it could be a looong search, as the top should def not be as on the promo and actual listed model photos (quartersawn/riftsawn) but more like the actual Greeny (Plainsawn) it makes the woodgrain look so much better, with the wavy hills and valleys kind of look and the flame pops more.
Mick leaving Jackson is crazy
Money talks...ESP is trying to be the one company that has the biggest metal names out there to go up against Ibanez.
Mick leaving Ibanez is crazy 😅
Is it REALLY, though?
@@zackarysmith2222 Yeah, mMick is a seven year itch kinda guy. Up to 2004 ish he was with BC Rich, then Ibanez from 2005 to 2016, then Jackson from 2016 to 2023. Seems like he switches brands every decade at the most and seems to have really dialled in what he likes, i.e. superstrat with double active humbuckers and a fixed locking bridge with finetuners and a locking nut.
I would choose Esp over Jackson 110% of the time
I have two Bullet Strats, both hard tail, one with the standard three single coils, and the other with a single humbucker.
They're fun to play.
I’d be more interested in a James Electra Flying V for about 1000 bucks it could even be a bolt on like James’ is someone make it happen, he still plays the old Electra and that’s crazy really and super cool also, I also hope Het is leaning on Gibson to allow ESP to make his old explorer shape a wolf to man LTD black album era would be sick and the esp banana headstock was cooler than Gibsons ever was.
I just bought a Bullet strat on reverb, neck was fucked, so i found a classic vibe strat neck for a replacement.I bet, you'd love it
Hunter: "I can't afford this"
Have you tried selling your baby? /S Don't give up!
At this point, ROI on the baby has not been great lol
@@agufish I've got a 6 year old model, I get it. Depreciating assets.
I'd imagine Hunter is doing quite well, which is why I don't join these patreons...these guys get enough off the videos alone. Good for him.
@@dank3435 neat!
Not gonna lie, while the decision to abandon the Bullet line was kinda weird, the replacement might be even better, what with much better colors and maple necks. Especially that purple Esquire and the pink Mustang, yum-yum!
I like some of the offerings, but it's a cost-saving exercise. You might note that none of the pictures from Fender show the backs of the guitars.
I looked at the anderton's website and saw that they no longer do string-trhough hard tails. So they're limiting the number of bodies that they have to scrap or repurpose because of a failure when drilling.
I don't mind so long as new players keep getting a solid experience, but I hope this doesn't indicate too many other cost saving measures.
🤘🔥
I have a white Esquire on the way 🎸👍🏻
I think it would be cool to see a Mick Thomson signature AX. Since its similar to the Warlock that is still THE Mick guitar to me.
The USA Gibson Greeny is cool because you get the pickups and specs. A recreation of sorts where the high dollar one is a duplication. I would hope Epiphone does a James signature line called Het V and Het X plus Gibson could do him a Les Paul or two. I'm kind of holding out to get my first guitar to see if Epiphone or Kramer is going to have a more affordable Dave Mustaine V.
Hi agu, I absolutely love your shit man
Appreciate that, dude!
Floyd Rose just needs to team up with him already and make a retrofitable bridge and standard bridge. I love floyds but hate the trem part haha.
I know it's trendy young-person language but saying "Strandberg dropped their rescued series" made me think at first they'd stopped selling them, when evidently it's a new thing.
I wish Ridge would just do a custom Agufish model with flamed maple plates. It would be cool to see how the wood wears down like an ol Les Paul
Whenever he writes a track for the next periphery member guitar (whether it's a mark, misha, or Jake sig), it would be cool to see Hunter mess with one of their alternate 6 string tunings. Either the Agcfad or the Ggcfad tuning. Because those are fun tunings
That flash Pink Squier Strat looks like an aweaome Mod platform
Any News on the Schecter KM?
One thing i will say about micks signatures, that "fake trem" plus the locking nut means the guitar holds tuning VERY well, not sure how well in comparison to an evertune but theyre by far the most stable hardtail you can get. Hopefully, Mick has ESP do it again (with an LTD model too)
Pro Tip: Vintage V100 Icon Lemon Drop is an excellent shout for anyone wanting a budget Greeny-a-like. The factory relicing might be a bit Marmite for some folks, but they play real nice.
Vintage is probably my favourite "budget" brand out there. They can easily compete with anything 2 to 3 times their price.
The factory relic'ing on the icon series is a bit cheesy, as it always is from any brand (Hetfield Truckster ESP, anyone?), but it looks pretty alright from a distance. And I can't recommend them highly enough as affordable workhorses.
I've been waiting for you to talk about mock Thompson
Big fan of slopknot
2:05 I believe this thing it was awesome
Hey Hunter hope you feel better soon!
Damn that all black single hum sonic strat is most likely gonna be my next guitar. 🔥 hip shot hardware and a SD pick up swap 👌
My .Strandberg* has a Granite finish. As in it's flat black, but at the same time has sparkle to it. So it literally looks like black granite, it's sicccckkk. And DEFINITLEY has that legendary sound I was chasing. The first time I heard the clean tones through my band rig (same exact patches I was using before with my Jackson) I about fell over, it''s incredible
i thought of you as soon as i saw the pink sonic series strat.
I'd love to work for Gibson, so I could get them to make what we all want! And what are your thoughts on 72 seasons?
Great info. Jedi master .... 😉 Enjoyed I did ⭐⭐😉⭐⭐
I love Jackson but the last 3 times I’ve tried one QA was lousy and they seem so behind the times now when they used to be trend setters
What did you try, every guitar company has it's fair share of bad QC.
They put more effort into the Charvel Mexican line vs Jacksons made in Mexico...I have not been disappointed by the charvels from Mexico.
@@dank3435 I hv a dk22 and a dk24 and they’re both fantastic necks. At least for me
@@TheSpineSplitter1990 That’s true. They were all pro soloists so maybe the Indo factory is having a rough time but I tried a lot of other brands at the same store and they were the only ones with scratchy frets, fret sprout and bad action. I think I’m more disappointed in the lack of innovation coming out of the company.
I heard that was one of the reasons Mick left is because their QA is going to shit. I was looking at getting one of his Jackson’s from Sweetwater but every time they got some in they all had the same issues. The fretboards would be covered in glue and tooling marks and the bridges were all installed crooked.
Guitar brands: we made this______! it’s $5000, and the tone is amazing.
Tech dept: uses DI made in 1996, a Metal Zone, and the Clean channel for the demo.
Ola: Hold my beer.
I ordered the Greeny standard the other day. Works out about $5,000 Australian. I’m looking forward to receiving it; they’re saying June.
I got it and it's a beautifull guitar. And it sound Amazing. It's a Real different les Paul for me . Love it
If that purple tele had a maple board I would cop it no hesitation
Quick note about the Squier Sonics.
They do not run strings through the body. They are all either tremolos, or strings through the bridge (like the mini Jazzmaster). Which points to Fender trying to reduce their production costs.
This won't make a huge difference to the sound in the room (at this price point) but it could indicate that further savings have been made elsewhere. Hopefully this won't impact new players trusting Squier to deliver solid performance at entry-level prices.
Outside of a Dean like artist disappearing act… is the Mick and Mark leaving Jackson that major issues for Jackson? Now if Scott and Marty both left they’re screwed. Thy being said I’m not Jackson loyal. Christ I’m left handed trying to find a good guitar fit as a whole hahaha
Makes me wonder if Jackson tried to stiff them like they did with Dave Mustaine years ago. Take all the publicity that their endorsement brings, they try and cut back the deal to one guitar a year.
And yeah I feel your pain. I’m a lefty too. I’ve got a couple of old USA Jacksons, but they’ve not given us anything decent in over a decade.
@@TheWinterwraith is that what Jackson did? The bastards! That being said the only brand I know who possesses the most lefty guitars and basses brand wise is Schecter
Yo
IF they're making a Het or Ham Epiphone, expect it to appear in a year's time plus it will be in the 1000 - 1500 mark.
Just a wild guess.
Not so wild, Epi's top models are already going for 1,300 bucks. And if people buy them, those prices will be the new normal by next year.
The Squier sonic single humbucker guitars along with kramer special baretta series just proves that more compaines should sell single humbucker guitars for cheap and not force us to pay 1000$ for something that has less rather than more. Most of them doesn't even use trems and stays in tune anyways, companies like epiphone, esp (ltd), jackson and even ibanez should start making cheap single humbucker modding platforms.
this is like so sad to hear that the bullet series will be discontinued, i started my guitar journey on a bullet strat back in 2019
I don't remember Mick ever having a lefty model, I could be wrong, but ESP are my favorite guitar company and they make more lefties so my opinion is "Cool, make a lefty"
That kirk hammett v is essentially geared towards the same people who could afford the metallica vip packages
The iconic is awesome. Wish they had the smaller one when I bought mine. The stock speakers aren’t the best I will say
Don’t sleep on the Gibson USA Greeny. I got one and it is absolutely incredible. Way better than the online photos and spec sheet would suggest.
Couple of artists have left companies recently. Andy James left Kiesel presumably for BC Rich I think but no info or pictures have been seen.
I have an irresistable desire to buy both one-humbucker pink strat and violet tele.
10:35 I hope it's not happening anymore, but there was a guy sanding down his HB some years ago, and the neck had a huge knot in it, I believe it was Thomann that wasn't fan of that press and tried to hide it..
But honestly, on the body, it doesn't really matter as long as it isn't on a structural important place, just like Fender did with thier Pine guitars that had knots here and there. Of course if it's super ugly, that's a different matter.
On the topic of Mick's Jackson: It's not just a big mass of metal for the sake of sustain or a 'fake trem'; it's a double locking hardtail bridge. All the tuning stability of a Floyd without any of the Floyd obnoxiousness. And yeah, I hope they keep that gimmick.
Looking to get a set of Fishman Fluence pickups. Modern, Adler for a Charvel So Cal.
Dude him leaving bc rich blew my mind this on shattered it never thought he'd leave Jackson
An epiphone greeny is in the works.
I think it’s lit mick switch I own an Ibanez and a squire for sure want to get an esp too always been a fan of them since Nightwish
Facebook marketplace goes crazy. I got a kramer focus 2000 for 150 and fender Texas specials for 120
oh and evertune launched/announced their bass bridge
The single humbucker strat definitely will be used to make more Tom delonge strats, calling it now. (Which I will definitely be contributing to)
I love Metallica and Kirk, but I can't imagine spending $50K, $20K, or $15k or any guitar! That is nuts. Even if my budget was unlimited, I wouldn't drop that kind of money on a guitar.
The Greeny standard is 3199 USD
Hey Hunter, have you ever seen the Framus D Series guitars? They're kinda like the SE series for PRS but made in China
I'm still waiting on my adam jones les paul standard, after about a year of waiting, I feel like gibson just keeps chasing the newer models and upping the prices
Gibson do some pretty cool colours and wacky versions through the Gibson mod-shop but you need to be quick. Pretty sure they recently had a purple sparkle up there, it shows up every so often. You do generally pay a small premium though. And it's not as if Gibson's are affordable to begin with. Most people can't justify $3500 for another LP in a different colour lol.
I’ll buy a Mick ESP whenever they drop
my first (and only) guitar is a Squier Bullet Mustang. let's hope the Sonics are much better
They should make a ridge wallet that looks like a humbucker
You gotta review the new MV-6 Schecter models! Curious to see how they stack up against the Charvel DK24
They look like they'll play like a Nick Johnston Traditional or Sun Valley Super Shredder
Already preordered me a pink single H version. Just because.
My guess for the change of names from bullet to sonic would be that the name itself also played a role. Otherwise they could have refreshed the line and kept the same name…IMO bullet is not necessarily a cool, inspiring or positive word. So on top of all the reasons for a renewal you mentioned getting rid of the name could be a good thing in the long run as well.. refreshing the line a bit and giving it a more modern sounding name.
love the new single pickup strats and esquieres but, why just 21 frets ??? why squier
Raw Forged ftw 💯
So could one just swap out the regular pickguard for a Hello Kitty one on the pink strat?
I've never felt like Mick and Jackson made sense. Ibanez and ESP is more "his style" imo.
Don’t die, Hunter. Who will feed Kitty Kat?
First!
Fender wiping the Bullet range was just a way of wiping out their competition: themselves on the used market.
Worst thing is us lefty's are still stuck with the same old black strats and butterscotch tele's, hence why we're shifting to Aliexpress copies as they offer more colours and designs at reasonable prices. PS I'm not American so I'm not into 'buying American' more than any other country.
The used market is currently every music companies biggest competition. Whatever comes out now has to have an application that the used market can't fill which makes every new product a little bit more niche (like the Blackstar floor amp). This in turn only appeals to gear heads and ostracises new players, and they end up getting a crummy guitar/amp/cable/ strap package deal that will make them give up pretty soon.
Fellow lefty here (Europe).
Thomann is your friend but you have a point. After years, I gave up the search/wait for a cool (and affordable) lefty Fender.
Got lucky recently with two Epiphone bargains in colours and specs I dig, from our German retailer friend but only after ages of shopping around.
I’m a Gen X Jackson/Charvel fan. I don’t blame these guys for leaving. Modern Jacksons just don’t feel like they used to even when they are custom shop, and the quality of the Indonesians is nothing like the 90’s Japanese stuff. Modern production Charvel has nothing to do with the 80 American or 80s/90s Japanese stuff either.
Mick was offered a better $$$$ deal , " let me try try something different " why not ... Evh did it .
No new jazz bass for squier sonic ?
only one lefthand squier sonic
and it's got a trem too :(
I wish mick goes back to ibanez
He already had been endorsed by Ibanez, Ibanez is not that popular anymore for metal...they had their biggest stars from 1999-2010
I mean it looks like Lee Malia is going to Jackson so they might not be in too much trouble 😬
I would leave Jackson in a heartbeat if ESP wanted me. Nothing against Jackson, but being a lifelong metalhead, ESP gets the best, and sets the trends for the others to follow 🤘
Don't forget ESP get better quality control and tuning stability......
Probably changed the bullet series to sonic series because of the controversy going on right now. New name to avoid trouble.
Just think Mick wanted to change it up. Collector simply switching brands for something that feels new
He only left Jackson because they probably offered him a ton of money...Jackson USA are some of the best guitars I've ever played on.
Possible Hot Take: "Brands Like Ibanez & Jackson Are the WWE Developmental Program of Metal Music."
(I know You're Thinking, WTF are you even saying? But just bear with me, Skip to TL: DR Just In case you don't care about Opinions)
If You Are Joining the Metal Scene for The First Time and You Have No Clue Where to Start, Ibanez and Jackson Are your "Free Agents"
(think Wrestling in Ring of Honor Then Going to NXT, That's How You Find Your Character).
You Carry Their Flag Until You Get "Called Up to the Main Roster" (A Signature Guitar or Color).
Once You Get "Drafted or Future Endeavored" (A Chance to Change Brands) The skills, Cheat codes, And Tactics You Know Go with You to Whatever Brand You Choose. (This Is Sometimes Considered a Heel Turn as Roughly 51% Percent of Artists Usually Go to An Indirect Competitor To another Company Because of Personal Reasons...So In this Case Mick Going to ESP) Which Isn't Too Insane Until You Realize ESP/LTD Has Had Metal Artists in a Grip With their Open Arsenal/Custom Shop Capabilities.
TL: DR: The Reason I Think Jackson Losing Mick Thompson Is a Huge Blow Is Because ESP/LTD (Imo) Are Always Looking for The Thing That Metal Players Want/Need, And They Know We Want It "Burger King" Style. They Know Is Something That Guys like Gibson and Fender Can't Really Offer Due to Their Whole Core Being Traditions. but Since They Are One of Those Brands That People consider "Baby's First REAL Metal Guitar" For Some Reason, they like to Take Risks Which is Where Companies Like Jackson Kind of Fail At...
I have a 15w iconic, it is fuckin awesome. Do not snub the ten inch celestion
That single him Tele is fucking 🤌🏻
*HUM, GOD DAMN IT
Most likely he changes companies all the time due to terms of the endorsement contracts. When the companies stop paying, he moves on to another one and repeat…
I don't see the point of paying that premium price for a Gibson when you can get a custom made Kiesel with whatever you want for a lot cheaper. Les Pauls are my favorite, but paying 3k or higher and not getting what I want just doesn't seem worth it.
Damn, Micks wife is fine hahaha
We’ll give you 12% of all sold. Ok
Don't loose hope on Gibson. You never know what they have under their sleeve.... 👀
Sadly the 15w evh combo is a 1x10" speaker...sucks
Like #1000
Bruh are there no new 2023 Jackson’s
The esps are the nicest guitars ever u know he getting those good custom shops them bitches are top tier. Jackson is not what it was. Same with ibanez. It is what it is the guitars hes playing prolly blow everything he ever had out the water
esp ltd making the best import guitars right nowmso glad he made this choice jackson is bs company that hides behind famous guitarist and signature models
Just ordered two greeny last week, because i just want to waste my money.
