It’s such a treat when Mick makes a public appearance or interview.
Him and Jim Root are big inspirations for me with learning how to play guitar.
Everytime I see Mick talking my day gets better
That's sad😂
Mick and Jim are two of the coolest dudes in the industry.
Mick looks thin, sounds calm and enthusiastic. I love him ❤
Dude looks fantastic. It’s great to see him investing in his health as he’s gotten older.
He's actually BAGUL from Sinister.
He mentioned a while back that while on tour he ate a lot of fast food which I guess made him bigger, but I see he's cut down a lot on that. I just hope he isn't sick and isn't telling anyone.
i love Mick
Mick is such a good storyteller. He should write a book about the formation of Slipknot from his vantage point.
Mick seems to be so much happier and approachable these days, you love to see it.
Still feels like he could be intimidating if he wants to be. Lol. But he’s a nice guy!
So he basically just told us all how the band was formed. I hope you all listened closely. Authentic as fuck!
"What ive learned is don't make plans" got it Mr. 7 ill take that as a motto.
I love the Slipknot formation storytelling from Mick Thomson here! Wonderful work!
He sounded so happy and excited telling the story 🤠
Mick doing interviews is refreshing. Nice to hear anyone other than Clown and Corey talk.
super interesting, it´s so rare to hear mick talk... thx for the upload
I can't wait to see you recording new shows dude!
I'm always watching 👀
@@MNOIR2024 hehe cheers man, i can´t wait to see slipknot again, they are in such a great shape currently
It ain't rare to hear Mick talk. He always talked he even talked in 2005 when voliminal came out. He talked about his gear years years later you just have to look super clear on youtube
@@TheIcpfan23 yeah i know there is some stuff out there but it´s so little compared to what you would find from any other of the remaining founding members.
Check his interview with chappers it's like 1 hour long video, dude is incredibly laid back.
Let’s gooooooo probably the biggest signing by Fishman so far.
Him or Richard kruspe
I would argue that one of the biggest they’ve ever signed is Stephen Carpenter
And Jerry Cantrell
@@nickoftime3170 Jerry Cantrell isn't a fluence artist, he is an acoustic pickup artist
Matt heafy is a big name too
Oh look, Clown was breaking bands apart since the start.
He formed the one you're parasocial with, kid.
@@Xerofortetrue hahaha
Ah, shit you beat me to it
@@XeroforteNot denying that by any means lol, but that doesn't change my thoughts on it.
Get over it ffs
Been a Slipknot fan since 2000 and Mick has always been my favourite member.
Stacy got our boy healthy! So awesome
He did it himself. Stacy had nothing to do with it.
@@leenahusa1806Lol found the woman hater
Ozempic did it
I’m sure his wife supported him
@@leenahusa1806what happened to supporting women? Yikes
Plz take away the music, it doesn't add to the video it makes it harder to hear what he is saying.
Can't believe how fit Mick's gotten since AHIG, props man!
Wow, Mick is well spoken. Seems like he's a pretty smart dude.
He's so well-spoken. Doesn't seem to need to talk but knows what he has to say if prompted to.
An excellent synopsis.
Nice to hear Mick talk about the early days.
Seriously! I’ve been waiting for something like this for SO long.
Still stealing members & screwing up other ppls bands
😂😂so true
Mr.Sev7n The King 🦁 👑
Who in the comments looked up the guitar company that mick Thompson talked
About?
Micks the GOAT!
Cool hearing from Mick. Shame what Slipknot is now though.
Suuuuch a cool guy, even his older videos, he's so nice, willing to teach and show others what he does. 10/10 for mick
The edit skills is 🔥🔥🔥
It’s part of his look and persona, but I gotta say, if this dude shaved his beard he’d look 20 years younger EASY. Especially now that he’s slim. This man is one of my greatest inspirations for writing riffs 🤘🤘 Long live 7!
Yeah, dude looks like he has a young face overall if he shaved. Corey looks young as hell for 50.
Such a awsome human
Mick is the man🤘
Micks really slimmed down. Good work!
Loved this.. i got to drive through Iowa the other day so… it was bad ass
Wish I could go
Back
In town and see mick delivering papers
I like Mick's version of the origin story of Slipknot more than Clown's version.
Yeah Mick makes more sense when he talks
The way he describes Slipknot forming is reminiscent of the Pearl Jam/Green River/Mother Love Bone situation....
Could not trust more the group of ears and experience behind these pickups. Stoked to see come to life. 🤘
Mick and Jim are the shit! Two guitarists that compliment each other is a beautiful thing
Mick was more fearsome when he weighed more. Almost looks like he lost to much weight.
Mick seems to get cooler and cooler as he ages.
I'm pretty sure Slipknot would be famous even without the masks. The seller back then wasn't the mask. It was their stage performance. And I'm sure they could've done it without the masks.
Fishman brought more content out of Mick in 4 months than anyone in 25 years. I’m here for it. One of my favorite players.
Mick’s new name is “Slim Thompson”.
Last time I saw and heard Mick unmasked he was looking 3x chunkier. Love that he's been taking care of himself. Looking real lean and mean!
Someone should have asked him. If he is into other music.. what makes him play with Slipknot? Is it just money
Mick was a big guy a few years back.. now he is looking slim and sharp.
MICK IS REALLY THIN AND REALLY OPEN AS OF LATE. HE IS FEELING GOOD, ACCOMPLISHED AND IM READY FOR HIM TO START AND BREAKDOWN HOW EVERY SONG WAS WRITTEN.....RIFF WISE. I KNOW HOW EVERYTHING START. JUST 2 BREAKDOWNS.....HOW DID PEOPLE AND DISASTERPIECE COME ABOUT
Clown never told this fool that he stole the idea from mr. bungle 😂😂😂😂😂
Love these videos I’ve stumbled across . It’s cool to hear the story’s and the “how to”from the artists themselves
I laughed when he mentioned the old Carvin cabinet, I still have one and it's fantastic!
Mick and Jim are and will b3 slipknot
MICK DA GOAT
he looks fuckin great
❤ love you. Can't wait to see you all play in phoenix.
What's micks take on black metal I know he is a fan
mask of joey and paul in the crowd..
He needs to lift weights and some trt too skinny now
So you basically stole the singer and the guitarist from another band, and now you stole Eloy, right? You piece of s...just kidding! Really hope to hear Eloy in a new record! Man this Omega amp is so beautiful! Nice video!
That" somebody else heard something and saw us" was Sophia John from 89.7 The River in Council Tucky IOWA. whom is credited by many reputable sources as the one that DISCOVERED Slipknot back in 1998-1999 days. I was there. I remember being from Omaha hearing all sorts of and seeing all sorts of stuff. Good times.
What happened to him? Why is he so skinny now?
He got healthy!
He really should have kept that 50lbs he dropped.
Mick Thomson 0,7
Kinda funny I was briefly in the scene then left and moved to TN from 93-97. Missed so many good local bands in that time period including Bodypit. When I came back everyone was talking about Slipknot.. Listened to the CD MFKR.. Was like huh? This is popular? Hadn't seem them live yet. Finally did then the light went on.. Then of course after hearing their RR debut.. Just blew me away. Been a proud fan ever sense. Sadly not too many local bands have done anthing since. A few have done pretty well.. Dead Horse Trauma, Index Case, Saul, Destrophy, Widow 7, Painface.. Of course non of my bands lol.
Mick is a solid dude and tells it how it is.. total respect for him.
Dude always talk so fast but yet still comprehensible. Not gonna lie, I'd pay money to hear him raps.
Mic u r my inspiration
I believe he believes everything he is saying - but not everyone agrees. I think it has to do with age and what sounds people grew up with. Personally, I do not like active pickups and the Fishman's are no different in that regard - Just because I don't like them does not mean they aren't good - they are good. I have them in 3 guitars and I enjoy the sounds. They sound good, they perform just fine and I can use them no problem. The thing is, for me, I prefer the sound of passive pickups...and that's all there is to it....at 60 years old, I also don't like too much technology in guitar equipment or batteries in my guitar - so that's my opinion. Les Paul, Tele, Strat and a Charvel, Tube amp, passive pickups a cable and a pick. If you can't make that sound good, then the problem lies elsewhere.
I legit read the headline thinking his signature set was CALLED Origin Story lol
I cannot get over how much weight hes dropped. Looks like a different dude
Glenn Fricker says that pickups make no difference in your tone. Passive or Active does not make a difference. Glenn Fricker says that pickup manufacturers are full of crap and lie to sell pickups. Glenn Fricker demands that pickup manufacturers provide graph evidence of their claims.
Dude has kept the same mask unchanged for the passed 24 years
The Fishman pickups sound simply Brutal! I have a Cort X700 Mutility guitar and the sound is crazy, I would buy Fishman pickups again without a doubt.
did he lose a lot of weight?
Amazing storytelling❤
Mick woke up and chose to lore dump the best metal history ever wtf! Best Mick interview ever :O ??
Hey, Mick! Don't shut down the mask and coveralls! :D
Is that what you mean to say?
Don't do that. :) I think the fans like it. :)
After witnessing Mick Laying down tracks for All hope is gone I've been a huge fan of his playing since!🤘 check that vid out if you are into 7! His tone is evil Af on that video!🔥
Pink esp guitar for mick would be awesome! 👌
Mr Seven...
Fucking love Mr. Seven so much. He's just so fucking hot. And badass as hell.
This is such a cool listen!
Mick is a real beast for metal riff, love he speedy down picking, totally underrated
idk, with his voice like that, he never do backing vocals or something
Nice voice doesn't mean you are good at singing?
He actually did vocals in early days
And I was about to buy those MT Duncan Sigs..
Heard this story hundreds of times but never from Mick.
Wow! I didn't know Bagul was actually a nice guy!
I'd love to hear more about his incredible weight loss. Dude looks so good.
Mick definitely looks thinner than he was
Most I’ve heard him talk tbh
Mick slimmed down a lot. He looks good.
3 bands broke up to go play with clown .... interesting
Well, it was Clown, Anders, and Paul, and everyone in Des Moines thought that Slipknot and Stone Sour were the best local bands there in battle of the bands. So the others likely saw what Clown was doing and that eventually infected them enough to join in. Pair that with the 7-8 members outside of the founders and bam you had the most iconic Slipknot lineup.
I love listening to him. He seems like a really interesting dude
love mick and jim , and god damn has he lost a lot of weight
Mike Shinoda grown hair?
Mick gosto mais de você com mascara 😂😂😂
Me too mick, I also spent a lot of time in my room figuring stuff out
He lost weight.
Lookin healthy!
He looks so much lean now!!!
Man he has lost allot of weight
Fhritp!!!
