Hi, i noticed that the prices on new guitars actually is quite high. What's you opinion about it ? Do the new guitars have to be this pricy ? Is Gibson´s way overpriced or are they in line with other brands like ESP or Fender for example, I mean during the past 5-6 years I don't get that much more salary that go along with the higher prices on new guitars these days.. Even tube amps are absolute quite a lot more expensive the last 3-5 years. What's your opinion ?
Yeah guitar prices are cray-z! I got my CE-24 in 21 for 2300. Same guitar is now 2800. Insanity. I was just at sweetwater a week ago and thought oh , the EC-1000 is still below 1000....impressive. i thinn mine was 850 or something forever ago. Guess I saw one of the last few remaining pre $1000 models. Still a great guitar. A better guitar than mine even with SS frets and a better neck joint. Still dang. I’m happy to see more baritones and single pickup guitars. I’ve been playing a baritone Ibanez AX for idk how many years and love they style so to see more variety in that area excites me.
Nice to see the high end First Acts get some love. I had one for a while back in the late 00's - mid 10's for a while. It was a great guitar. I actually kinda regret selling that one, which almost never happens to me. Was also a 25" scale!
I was looking an EC-1000s, now they made an E-II version of it with EMG's and I need it. Now. Gonna go to Thomann soon to check them both out, one of em is coming home with me!
Hey thanks for all the great info, i have a EII Horizon on the way, i have been looking for a quality japanese built guitar recently and the standard line looks like a great value for money.
This LTD Royal Shiva reminds me of Edwards Knight series by ESP. It also a double cut(but body-shape is based on traditional LP Double Cut) it's got almost same headstock and also has 3-piece set on malpe neck with quite thick profile(probably U-Shape). I actually got E-KT-135 from this series and it's amazing, pefect combination of modern specs and vintage vibe. It sounds good, SH-5 in bridge is great for playing rock and metal in stadart tuning(if you down-tune you need TS or something similar) and APH-1n in neck gives you great clean and crunch tones. Got some time to get used to neck profile after thiner Horizon's neck but it also gives you great feeling when playing rhythms.
Love the new EC-01FT in Olympic White and Black. Really dig the new matte black Viper 1000 with gold hardware, as well as the updated black and see-through cherry EC1000s. The SN-1000 Koa Evertune looks sick, as well! If I'm picking anything up, it'll probably be an MH-1000 Baritone, 'cause I'm pretty much set with single cuts.
That EC 1007 Baritone is everything I love put into one guitar (Black Beauty + Baritone + 7 string). It feels wrong but also so right lol. Also def feel that sticker shock with those prices. Want an Ec1000 for the collection but will have to look at the used market going forward.
If the spec of Bill's sig is the same neck/nut width, then one could quite possibly pro mod it to a 9 string and have your full on First Act CS replica, except MIJ. Not saying but sayin
might get my hands on a schecter E1 in a few months but if something comes up ill defintely be eyeing that black and gold M guitar. really happy with the lineup for this year to be honest I think its awesome :)
FOR YEARS, I have been telling Fender to make a production run of the sandblasted Jim Root Jazzmaster. The LTD XJ might as well be that, and I absolutely adore it. Also, one of my bandmates is every bit the jazzmaster aficionado I am. He has already pre-ordered his LTD XJ, and I will as well as soon as I sell enough guitars to get enough money to do so.
At first, the tilt-back headstock was a question, but I think I can quickly become accustomed to it. As for the dual-humbucker, no-one uses the neck pickup, so no point in them existing.
@@ThatBaritoneGuitarGuy I guess I'm the oddball that uses both 😂 but the reversed headstock I could adapt too but one pickup ain't bad just not for me on a six at least
@@ThatBaritoneGuitarGuy I'm gonna get an XJ, and put a Fluence single coil in the neck. How does that make you feel? 😇 (Considering the price though, that may not happen for another year or so...there are a number of other guitar types I need before getting another hardtail 6 string). In all seriousness though, such a cool looking guitar. I reckon the fire blast finish would have been even better though. Perhaps they will bring that in at some point...a fire blast version of the 7 string baritone SN-1000 was part of these new releases whereas they only had the black sandblast before. I was tempted by that a while back actually but ended up going for a Schecter KM-7 for the ultra-thin neck.

I would have been using them a long time ago except the one a bought had a neck profile not even a mother could love. Too bad, they do indeed have game.
@@Siggy_SourNo they don't do nitrocellulose, yeah all ESP are custom shop now so there are no production line guitars anymore, that's why you don't see or find them anywhere, the closest are the E-II with ESP on the 12th fret, but even those are rare to see and close to $3k.
@@Echoes- Thats crazy i guess im gonna aim for the Navigator line when i go the ESP route. i just always wanted an actually ESP not LTD. Japan quality is legit! i know from my Orville guitars.
I got the new Phoenix 1000 blue burst for $800. It had a small scratch from the factory and I just happened to walk in the day my guitar shop hung it on the wall. I fuckin love ESP and this guitar.
The new Junior ECs are not full thickness. FT only stands for flattop. Yes, Max Cavalera uses 200 series guitars with ESP 150 pickups (his cheaper RPR 200 signatures and an Arrow 200), but for touring he switches them out (only bridge) for SD SH6 Distortion or Emg 81. He played a stock RPR 200 on playthrough videos and in the studio rehearsing the Totem album. The ESP 150 sounds surprisingly good with a lot of output, a mixture of SH4 and SH6.
FT is for Flat Top on the EC01FT. However, it’s 45mm (or 1.77”) which is roughly the same as the CTMs (or an LP), just without the bit extra from the maple top.
honestly, i’m sad that EMG is not in any regular production LTD guitar, and they’re basically out of the door… i’m an EMG kid and half of my guitars have EMG’s too. Fishman’s don’t cut it for me, imo. also, those prices man… holy shit. i was able to get my 08’ EC-1000 2 years ago for $600 and it came with a roadrunner case too. the previous owner swapped all the gold hardware into black and it looks clean with the abalony. but paying $1499 for a brand new guitar? damn… its a lot of money :(
I'm honestly personally over the ESP vs E-II logo debate- I don't mind the name but now I just want it in a different font. It would be so cool to have a script style E-II logo like the other ESP ones!!
That's actually a genius compromise, someone hire this man! I don't hate the E-II name, either, but that big block logo just looked mad cheesy compared to the script logo. Don't know why I never even thought about E-II written in script for uniformity between ESP, E-II, and LTD
Man I wished they continued to do Alexi Laiho signatures to keep his legacy alive, dude should not be forgotten whatsoever, I know the Arrow looks similar, but we all like the Alexi ones
My E-II Horizon II is a fire breathing weapon of accuracy. I bought my charcoal burst EMG Gotoh everything MIJ 4 years ago. I paid $,2,000 for it. NOW the same guitar is $2,700.
i used to love ESPs and hoped to one day buy one when i got a job after college. fast forward to now and i seriously dont care for ESP because they seem to be stuck in the same place. i instead got a strandberg and considering a jackson now. the only ESPs id consider, are the actual 'ESP' branded guitars but... i dont really feel like spending $7k
ESP so backed up that the USA custom shop no longer makes custom orders 😂 which is fine really. I also think im one of the few that likes E-II over Standard. Also perhaps im set in my ways, but i LOVE my EMGS. Fishmans sound great, but I honestly took them out of my one EC and put in some X series with a I think its the XTW? In the neck 🤷. Anyways, Im super excited and hope some of these get a left handed variant! Though I do plan on picking up a righr handed version of the EC-1007 Evertune, and the Arrow Variant. Keep rocking Hunter-san! 😎
Yoo duder what's up. Hope all is great with you and the family! Great episode. But my guy. Dude about 3 years ago I modified a guitar. I don't know what the name is of the company of the body cuz it wasnt there when I bought it, but it's nothing fancy. The neck was twisted. So I got a fender telecaster neck but a lefty. It's cheaper then a reverse headstock and that's what I wanted I wanted the reverse head stop. For two reasons one the added length of the strings on the lower strings and the shorter length of tension on the higher strings being that I tune lower this guitar is in drop c. More tension on the lower strings less than the higher strings you know why. And I put to humbuckers in it with the selector switch into position as it would be on a Les Paul. And only two volumes I don't want tone or anything but I want each pickup to have its individual volume. Well the other day I seen squires new modern classic jazzmaster and it's soooo close to mine. And then just now the LTD ! But the LTD has the reverse headstock where is The squire does not. I wish I could put a picture of mine in the comment to show everyone. But anyway. Ok man long ass message love ya keep being you! ✌️💜
I was so sad when I saw the price of the XJ. I’ve been wishing and hoping for a J shape ESP production model for years (especially a sig from Northlane’s guitarist). So seeing a single pickup bolt on one made me so happy until I saw that it was $1500. I get that a Fishman pickup and sand blasted ash are more higher end features, but it still feels so weird for a single pickup guitar with no real frills to it except for those two to be well over a grand.

I would have been using them a long time ago except the one a bought had a neck profile not even a mother could love. Too bad, they do indeed have game.
Seriously need a 200 series phoenix and a baritone version, also a 200 series mh baritone!
how much does it cost to get ESP on the headstock?
around $5k as of now
@@Echoes- wow! are they nitro finish at least? i know they probably rippppp i figured i never see em for a reason.
Esp needs to bring back Jon Deiley’s 7 string signature tele
Dam that burst EC 01 FT and the VB Viper are on my radar. FKN Love ESP.......
I’d love to buy an EX401 or EX200 series guitars, only issue is they aren’t in stock anywhere I look
I am looking for a guitar equipped with a Sustainiac. Schecter has some but ESP, from what I saw, has none. Any recommendations?
I use to have an LTD Viper with the Tobacco Sunburst and this video made me miss it so much =(
honestly, i’m sad that EMG is not in any regular production LTD guitar, and they’re basically out of the door… i’m an EMG kid and half of my guitars have EMG’s too. Fishman’s don’t cut it for me, imo. also, those prices man… holy shit. i was able to get my 08’ EC-1000 2 years ago for $600 and it came with a roadrunner case too. the previous owner swapped all the gold hardware into black and it looks clean with the abalony. but paying $1499 for a brand new guitar? damn… its a lot of money :(
I also prefer EMG, however, it takes like 10 minutes to change from Fishman to EMG's, it's plug and play, they both use the same connector.
2019 was a great year for ESP LTD . Since then I've looked at schecters and ibanezs
Did you use use "Ibani" as the plural of "Ibanez"? Haha, I love that!
When I talked to the Big Boss ESP store, they said EII could be gotten fairly quickly but the ESP Custom shop is up to 4 year wait.
@@JosephX74 it's script just like the esp logo? What do you mean? Lol
I’ve been looking g for a budget ltd the 201 series look like a solid choice but there’s like no review on them
Man I wished they continued to do Alexi Laiho signatures to keep his legacy alive, dude should not be forgotten whatsoever, I know the Arrow looks similar, but we all like the Alexi ones
love my sn1000ht i’ve got the one with duncans in purple
The abalone binding is the sole reason I never actually bought a 1000 series LTD so I'm pretty happy they changed it
My E-II Horizon II is a fire breathing weapon of accuracy. I bought my charcoal burst EMG Gotoh everything MIJ 4 years ago. I paid $,2,000 for it. NOW the same guitar is $2,700.
what is the h-1000 version ?
Surprised you didn’t mention that LTD’s long-time “entry level” guitar (EC-10) was also discontinued, with no replacement.
They've gotten greedy.
i used to love ESPs and hoped to one day buy one when i got a job after college. fast forward to now and i seriously dont care for ESP because they seem to be stuck in the same place. i instead got a strandberg and considering a jackson now. the only ESPs id consider, are the actual 'ESP' branded guitars but... i dont really feel like spending $7k
Any news or possible dates on release of mich Thomson signature 🤘🤘
Best guitars being built IMO
I’m stoked about anything related to Black Winter.
I don’t anything to do with Fluence…
Ibani (plural) is my new favourite word
Getting a EC 01. ouch
please demo the ltd ec-01ft
Oh lol and roast me go ahead I spelled squier wrong lol I was talking to texting . Anyway. 😂
Give me more Bill Kelliher talk! I love his signatures
killin it this Ep man! many a lulz
Schecter Solo ll Supreme, thoughts?
Anxiously awaiting the sunburst version of the LTD EC-01FT to show up in stock!

The XJ series looks like the guitar version of the GB series basses
