Thanks for the video! Unfortunately I have NoteBook Pro i7 16Gb with BIOS 502 version and SSD drive speed are still not fixed and CPU adjusting voltage is disabled. I'm trying to found fix for this issues or at least for SSD drive speed. Love the channel you are making awesome reviews keep the great work!

TechTablets.com I know I read them all. Its strange, maybe there is different version of 502 BIOS. My bios are XMAKB5R0P0502. Im runing fresh instaled WIN 10 pro and I tried all newest drivers as well. Still drive never go over 1800Mb in read or write speed.
I thinking to try to downgrade or something.
Allister what is your full version of BIOS? Maybe there is variations in 0502. Also on what model of NoteBook Pro?

Yes I mentioned that one in my review and unboxing. Would have been great to have a 1440p screen with touch or even higher res.
On the go 1080p is perfectly fine. At home I've got it hooked up to an LG 38UC99 USB C Ultrawide. Works perfect
but for FHD it is very accurate vivid, contrasty and SHARP! - when it comes to color it is even better - i have check it with my X-rite colormunki and it is at the level of macbook pro in terms of color accurancy! which is great as I do use it for graphics as a daily driver :) of course it could have at least 2880px but its good overall screen even for semi pro use.
I wouldn't like a touchscreen, and unless the MI Notebook Pro goes to 1440p I'm going with a Dell XPS 13. The MI Notebook Pro would have to be amazing though as this laptop has been giving me all kinds of headaches.

Really? That's great so 0301 & 0401 leave the TDP and voltage open to use. And the rest 0300 & 0502 of the new versions lock it out. People are pissed off Xiaomi did this, no reason too.

Just to say, I orderd my Notebook Pro back in November and I think it was made in October and it came with the 0401 Bios and the fixed SSD speeds.
Also just want to say that the second M.2 supports nvme drives, but the speed will be cut down on both (~1800 mb/s read on each drive)

I don't own it, so I'm just testing Fornite as it's been requested so many times and it's free.
I run pubg on mine, mx150 manages it just fine :-). I tend to use lower - medium settings at 1080p. not bothered to try it on high.
A bit like Fortnite then, best on Low or Med. High settings it's 27 to 40 FPS only. Still the MX150 does well, much better than I thought it would when I first heard of it.

My unity came with the bios 502 version. All working fine and at fullspeed.

its the i7 model with 8 gb ram.
The Voltage limits are locked and Processor core iccMax too, but the other settings of Turbo boost Power are unlocked.
I bought my mi notebook pro on 11/11 on Gearbest, and it arrived on 21/12 with the 4x line bios fix already :)

I updated the BIOS to P0502 and the SSD speeds are 4x for sure. Even slightly better then in the video.

The new 13.3" has the voltage locked out, but power limits unlocked. The SSD runs at full 4 lanes.

I bought a Mi Notebook Pro which I received a couple days ago and it came with 0502. It has x4 PCIe speeds (CrystalDiskMark gives speeds similar to yours.) Advanced Tuning > Core shows everything grayed out except the four Turbo Boost * sliders.
Really looking forward to your detailed comparison about 13.3 version vs 15.6 . It's clear the 15.6 is better but I need to have 13.3 for portability and want to understand the compromises. Can I still undervolt + overclock GPU on the 13.3?
Considering the brand I am guessing that it does not have a fabric warranty by Xiaomi since it's not intended for use outside China. However, does GearBeast provide some sort of warranty and how does it function? This is a rather complicated question, coming from Europe since European devices and manufacturers are obliged to give a two-year warranty to all products. Someone from Europe who has bought the device? Is it reliable enough as to not use warranty at all, if it doesn't have one?

Just the SSD slot fi, no hardware changes. But the fan seems to come on a little less on this different bios than the first 2017 model I had with version 0200

Now it's good all models shipping out will have the SSD fix which is the main thing. I doubt Xiaomi has another notebook coming. This one won't be refreshed till Intel releases the new 9th Gen CPU's.

The modifications done with the Intel utility... These are changes done after the OS is loaded, right? I mean, the utility is not touching boot params, i.e. if I boot another OS the modifications won't be there, right?
Hi i bought this laptop and sent it back because i could´nt stand the fan noise. Is it fixed? Because it is not normal to hear the fans cooling while cpu temperature is only about 40 degrees using chrome. I heard about the fans linked to voltage instead of temperature is that true? Thank you

I would like to buy the notebook pro i7 16GB version, but it's out of stock on gearbest in the European warehouse for more than 2 weeks now. Pretty cool. However, there's one observation I've made in this video. I think you should've used a different benchmarking software in order to get more representative results. CineBench is so quick to finish that the CPU manages to be in higher frequency most of the time. The difference in real life would be not as significant (but significant nonetheless).
It was only a quick look at it, in my full review I encode video and also show it will hold 3.4Ghz on all 4 cores for as long as you want without that power limiting from the 15W if set to say 30W or more.

I just brought an i7 unit from Gearbest and paid the money to them on 7/02/1/2018 but it is still on process now (3/03/2018). I tried to ask them about the issues and they said that it is back lock and I am not understand why they did not identify this when I purchased the unit. This is quite bad.

A little yes, if you run it with the lid close the screen will get warm and it doesn't cool as well. I often run mine connected up to a monitor with the lid closed.

Sadly nothing, I've been looking into it and only got as far as some claiming it has the hardware but Xiaomi didn't enable for some stupid reason. If it had a touchscreen, maybe 1440p and thunderbolt 3 it would be almost perfect for the price

The Xiaomi ist for Students or semi professionals who are on a tight budget and need performance. And imo that's what xiaomi perfectly has done.

There is a dump of 0401 on the site, but not sure how to flash it and it's no doubt risky. I would hold off on it and wait for a newer release that has the voltage control, TDP and SSD fix that's flashable.

What's happening? If it looks messed up clean the cache and reload. A plug-on just messed it up an hour agao.
i wiped everything cache, cookie...it looks messed up like if he can't choose between desktop and mobile mode
Just tested it on 3 laptops, Chrome and IE it rendering as it should here. Let me just wipe all the caches that will fix it I hope. Then try clear your cache and it should be good.

Must be 0502, some of them it seems also have the power limit unlocked but not voltage.

Does anyone ever experienced some occasional fan squicky noise on this unit? ever since i 1st open my unit, it occasionally makes some weird noises like something tiny is hitting the fan blades. I did jot even touched the fans when i opened it. I just wanted to see what the inside looks like. :(

Man, I need your help with my Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro. Is my second one because I changed mine for this one because of the same problem I am gonna tell you know. The problem is that I can see a change of brightness in the screen when I go from a dark window (like RUclips in dark mode for example, or Twitter in dark mode) and I switch to a white window like Google for example. Try to set the lowest level of brightness of the screen and then do what I have just said, switch from a dark to a white or
viceversa and tell me if you can see a change of brightness done like "hit by hit" 2 or 3 steps of change in a period of 5 seconds. Please help!
Hey man, try this method. Open Intel Graphics settings then go to Power option, select maximum performance, and disable Display Power Saving Technology. There you go! It works for me. Tell me if it works for you too. :)

If this model would have touch screen and gtx 1050, will be perfect. Thinking the only diferents whith the 13.3" are 2" more, 1 usb c more and slot sd. Little things for call it "pro" for me.

2017 version was very noisy.
This one is good and my 0200 bios version also fine. What is noisy and a real pain in the ass the Mi Notebook Air 13 2018 model. Very heavy on the fans and once they come on they never go off. This one at least the fans later turn off. And they do cycle less.

the huawei have the same hardware, maybe worse thermal and better screen, but have 2x the price of xiaomi mi notebook pro. basically the xiaomi mi notebook pro is the king, best bang for bucks

Yeah The Xiaomi will eat the Huawei. Also it's way to small (13") for professional use and anyone who works with graphics / video can't live without an SD card reader. The i5 (1500€) will get eaten by a 660€ Xiaomi Pro cause of better thermals. Upgradability is horrible on the Huawei (no 2nd m2. expansion)
Exactly, let us tease xiaomi to update this product, make a thunderbolt 3 support for future purposes. Too bad the matebook x pro is only 14" would prefer it to 15.6 without the branding.
