This game was great. Truly was. Enjoyed it. But. Man. I have not fell in love with this like everyone else has. People are FEVERISH for TLOU but I just don’t feel the same.
@@stormy9252 I’d kill a man for a Jak & Daxter sequel. But. I’m not sure. TLOU just didn’t…grip me like it did others. I love the combat and the craft system. I love scavenging for weapons and items. But. I can’t say I’m a mega fan like others.
Features/content that ND could’ve added to justify the $70 price tag: -Return and expand upon Factions/Multiplayer. -Combat mechanics from TLoU2 (prone, dodge). -an original story DLC not present in the PS3/PS4 versions. -more customization.
I don't like the excuses some fanboys make to justify the remake not adding changes from the 2nd game under the basis havint to redesign the levels. It's a lame excuse when a lot of remakes took advantage of better hardware, added gameplay mechanics from a sequel, and redesigned levels to change things for the better (mostly). The Last of Us was built around the constraints of the PS3 (a console with much less RAM than the Xbox 360, mind you), how could there be nothing to improve beyond graphics with a console as capable as the PS5? The remasters of the Halo & Gears of War games are pretty much the same as this "remake", but they had the decency to only be $40.
I hadn’t thought about new DLC as an option but you’re so right. What a golden opportunity it would’ve been to give more context to the time between pt 1 and 2! Ellie and Joel drifting apart and/or his teaching her how to live life in Jackson, his reaction to her burn to cover her bite mark, or hell, even show us some of Abby before she joined the WLF.. The last thing I think this game needs is render modes (which I don’t use but twofold undoes the graphical upgrades) and video description.
They could've added cut content into the game. Added Left Behind chronologically. But no it's a 1:1 Remake so it's the exact same game we all played 9 years ago.
Honestly the game is fine as it is, it just shouldn’t have been charged 70 dollars But honestly, there have been other remasters that charged full price and added almost nothing, like the Skyrim and Batman Arkham remaster
-a new multiplayer mode is being created so no point in wasting resources. -there is a counter mechanic in the game. And if u add jump, prone or squeezing through then u have to change the whole level design and I don't think they wanted to do that -instead of making dlc for a decade old game, they should first make dlc for tlou2. -what more customization do u want
I don't doubt that a lot of work went into improving the visuals of this game. Even as someone who looks at this remake in as cynical of a light as possible can't deny that. But I don't think it's worth $70 when all they did was buff the visuals, improved the AI, and added accessibility features. They definitely could have given Joel more abilities, like the dodge/prone to up the gameplay. Or they should have priced this game at $50 and made it so anyone who purchased the PS4 version gets a free or discounted upgrade.
I agree with the dicount though it might be akward if you have disc like will it read the disc, will it be reading your download of the game from said disc. Most likely if it was implemented it would neglect disc buyers.
@@romantheblack-cat Not necessarily. On my PS5 I have Jedi Fallen Order, a PS4 disc. When i put it on it asked if i wanted to upgrade to the PS5 version no extra charge. Obviously the game doesn't as starkly different, but it still an improvement that didn't require me to buy the game again.
@Good Hunter It's even worse. The writing in TLOU2 is Life is Strange tier, only one level away from I Am Immortal tier which was so badly written that most people think it was written as a joke ironicly.
@Good Hunter My major issue with Last of Us 2 is that it doesn’t feel like a Zombie game despite being a zombie game. The whole story for The Last Of Us 2 feels off because it’s mostly about people and not about surviving the apocalypse
7:34 Without a doubt, the whole no crunch news was only done with this game because of all the backlash Naughty Dog recieved over Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part 2 development histories. Basically they removed/undid everything that Amy Henning and her dev team's progress they did for Uncharted 4 and restarted from the ground up and changing Amy's original script. I'll say maybe about 40% of Amy's original script was still intact in the final game, but that's to be debated. And of course back in 2020 The Last of Us Part 2's crunch hours was well known to the public and got rightfully scolded for this toxic working environment. Where even former Employees who got laid-off commented about it. So it's good to see there's some progress that current Naughty Dog is trying to atone for after they've divided their fanbase. Any company can learn from their past mistakes.
This seems like the most unnecessary remake. But the only thing that they definitely improved on is the accessibility options. Which I will always think is a fantastic thing. But I have to ask. Is there motion aiming? I couldn't see you the option in this video
@@ninjasnakeevil9327 yessss. Thank you naughty dog. So many games, remasters and remakes never put them in. Like ratchet and clank, or the uncharted collection
Played the original on PS3 and couldn't finish it, thought it was pretty boring. Everybody says it's this crazy masterpiece so maybe I'll go back and try it again.
@@MegaDarkness5000 Agreed. The story of the first game is good but the gameplay kinda stinks. And the less said about the second game the better. The series is beyond overated. Naughty Dog seriously fell off when they ditched actually fun, creative games to chase trends. Aka ultra-realistic "cinimatic experiences" with guns and murder and violence and death and zombies and crap and blatantly ripping off whatever was popular at the time. Uncharted was a blatant ripoff of Indiana Jones which was popular at the time of the first game's release due to nostalgia for the original trilogy and the 4th movie releasing and TLOU was a blatant ripoff of The Walking Dead which was extremely popular back in 2013. Compare those to Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter which were far more creative and fun, Crash Bandicoot being even more zany Sonic the Hedgehog with mutants instead of robots and insane time/dimension traveling and Jak and Daxter being basically the sci-fi Zelda games we always wanted with cool guns and crap. Since the PS3 started and Niel Cuckman took charge Naughty Dog has gone down the drain, only releasing mediocre "cinimatic experience" type games over-focusing on graphics with garbage gameplay intentionally made be bad and unfun. (TLOU2)
Story's good gameplay is basic, it's the major flaw all of these story driven over the shoulder cinematic games have had, this game being the origin of the trope. Unfortunately it was praised so highly mediocre gameplay in these types of games aren't seen as an issue that needs to be remedied.
@@MegaDarkness5000 its the story. The relationship between Joel and Ellie and their characteristics is what drove this game all the way. While I used to see this as a masterpiece back as a teen when it came out, going back to it, the gameplay is very dated and somewhat slower than I remember. At least Uncharted still holds up on the PS3 because they main design philosophy is "make you play an action movie" and the gunplay with those setpieces never get old with you moving around like a maniac, climing towers, shit blowing up, chase scenes, cool "platforming" sections and the charisma the characters have.
I actually just bought a PS5, however I decided to go with the original PS3 version of this game a few months ago, just so I could experience it in it's rawest form. Based on the little I've played of it so far (gotten up to the first soldier encounter), the gameplay doesn't really impress me, but I still find it fun to knock somebody in the head with a wine bottle
People are arguing against the game for the price and price only. A $40 title, an upgrade discount if you owned the OG, and Jesus a PS+ highest tier release…ND didn’t fuck this, nor did they set the price. Sony is the one strutting this thing for $70 on a console that is still damn near impossible to find AND a gaming atmosphere where we have almost no exclusives that aren’t cross gen
Forgive me for whining about something not related but I need to vent I'm starting to get really sick and tired of Sony shoving Sly Cooper references/Easter eggs in bloody everything these days if they have no plans to make a new game they need to can it with the constant references because it's starting to feel cruel at this point -__-
Yeah Sony hates platformers and has done so since the PS3 started. Now it's all about lame "cinimatic experiences" baby! This is the reason I dropped Sony for PC/Xbox lol. No reason support Sony when they refuse to use any of their actually good underused IPs like Jak and Daxter, Ape Escape, Legend of Dragoon, Dark Cloud, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, etc to instead push bullcrap like the new God of War games, that stupid game about the viking girl with delusions, TLOU, and Uncharted. Like, Spiderman playing Nathan Drake in the live action movie? What?
@@krimsonkatt Well that's because they don't sell well outside of Ratchet. Which is the only reason why he's still around. Jak and Sly? They sold nothing specially those first Jak and Sly games everyone praise online as some of the best.
Agreed. And they still won't give us proper ports for the Jak and Daxter games, Sly Cooper, or any of the Rachet and Clank games. Now the only proper way to play them is a backwards compatible PS3 or to pirate...
@@krimsonkatt Yeah, the fact that a lot of Sony's best game are stuck on PS2/PS3 while they churn out stuff like this (for $70 no less) is very aggravating.
Honestly, I thought we might get Sly and Jak trilogy remakes, since we got Spyro and Crash. Might still happen; those were PS1 trilogies remade for PS4, maybe they'll do the PS2 trilogies for PS5
@@NovaMaster375 A Ratchet trilogy remake would make the most sense to me given the success of 2016 and Rift Apart, but I would love to see Jak and Sly make a return too.
I think what i really appreciate about this remake is Ellie. The way her eyes look in certain scenes just blows me away. Also their iconic fight in the house after Ellie steals the horse, i love the fact that the mirror in that room is prestine and reflective, and just frames Ellie perfectly as Joel steps aside, forcing her to abrubtly see herself during this argument, and then says "im not her you know" In the og, the mirror is broken and dirty and barely a thought cause its just background clutter. Here, you watch Joel step aside and we along with Ellie just see her perfect image in that giant mirror. Its kinda wildly transformative despite being such a small change
This is one of my favorite games of all time. I played it for the first time in 2016 when I was a junior in high school and I could not believe the way it made me feel. Playing it today, I still felt the same way. I don't think I hated the second one as strongly as most but it definitely didn't hold up to the first one in my eyes. As for the remake, I don't think it necessarily needed to happen. Not yet, anyway. This isn't just a Naughty Dog problem, but I am sad that media is so focused on nostalgia that I feel like we haven't seen anything unique or new in a long time. I have mixed feelings. When the price goes down, I may pick this up, but I may not. It looks gorgeous, though! No doubts about that.
I haven't played Part 2 yet. I did like the story of the first one. While predictable I enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy the combat all that much nor the stealth. Even so at that price and how Part 2 was received and pushed. I do foresee that having an impact on sales.
I enjoyed TLOU2 as far as gameplay goes. People overreacted heavily when the game came out truthfully. It isn’t as good as the first, but people acted like Naughty Dog walked in their house, smacked their wife on the butt, and kicked their dog before it was even released.
@@SoggyHotDoggy I agree completely! I think the overall reaction that the game got was a little too intense and dramatic. Attacking the developers and sending threats to the voices involved is something that will never be okay.
Is a pass for me, and more at that price, I still think this should be made at least in 2 or more years, even the differences you show here to be honest are just aesthetics, and maybe small adjustment in the controllers to match what they did with Last of Us 2, but that's just not enough for me to drop 70 US in a game that I could play in the same console already with the previous releases.
I was dismissive towards this remake before this video, but now I think it has a logic to it. Visual improvements aside, the improved AI is definitely a good addition that delivers on the promise of complex enemy behaviour that got simplified in the final release compared to the demos. I don’t have a PS5 but the package as a whole looks inviting for fans of the game.
Will you ever touch the Yakuza series? It's a series I never thought I would like based on outward appearances but man, it easily became one of my favorite gaming series of all time with Yakuza 0. Playing through Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 (remakes of 1 and 2) have also been a blast as well, if you ever want a new series to try I highly recommend them, usually always on sale as well.
It's cool that you got a review copy, you've come a long way since the days of your DEAU reviews. It's weird to me that a heavily story-focused game would have a speed running mode. 5:54ish - The game as it was originally seen was on PS3, not PS4. I'm sure there are videos comparing the PS3 version to the PS5 version out there somewhere *now* but I guess it would have probably been a hassle to compare with your personal copy of the PS3 version. Is it really the best version if it removed features? The QoL add-ons look great though, and the visuals are definitely better, but didn't the multiplayer have a dedicated fanbase too? Personally, I didn't like the story or characters of TLoU. I first tried playing it in the mid/late 2010's...I think I played the PS3 version, but I was still feeling zombie fatigue and the 3rd person, cover based shooting was also really wearing on me. Everything TLoU offered was stuff I could find done better in other games.
Just talkin about speedrun mode, it's actually a very thoughtful addition to the game from ND. The Last of Us has developed a dedicated speedrun community over the years: ruclips.net/video/cQXgWcyOXNQ/видео.html It is a story-focused game but there is a lot of gameplay in there too
😂 Your opinion dosent matter that much because the majority of people think otherwise about the game, the last of us multiplayer wasn't that great Its a nice little extra content but I don't need it in my single player game so keep it to yourself. I disagree its not like any other zombie game out there. You are actually comparing the last of us to your trash that you play while on 🚽
I think i’d rather wait for a price drop on this one. It does look like they put some work into it but it’s not enough to commit full price for it. A remake I am interested in is the new Alone in the Dark game based off the original that kickstarted the survival horror genre.
The facial animations *alone* make the remake justified. Especially the ones for Ellie look so much better. Adding to that that it was due for a PC release and the HBO show drove renewed interest in the game, a general visual upgrade + accessibility features make sense. The question is if you want to pay $70 for it.
I mean, what game is worth 70$ anyway? Answer is no one. And if i, in a country with economical issues i was able to pay 100$ just for a remaster of a PS3 game that... yeah, was very rare, the majority of you guys in USA could probably pay 70$ for a remake.
TLOU Part 1 feels about as sleazy as Nintendo rereleasing older games under a $60 price. At least, I can understand why fans would by a rereleased Nintendo game considering that unless they came from the NES or SNES line, they are infamous for being locked onto the console they were released on. It's a shitty practice, but I can see why fans would by a Wind Waker port on the Wii U. TLOU1 doesn't even have that excuse considering that the game already got remastered on the PS4, and you can get that same remaster on the PS5 through PS Now. Honestly, the only way you could justify buying this remake at full price is if you're playing it on the PC, and that's still pushing it.
I don’t like the portrayal of the David fight. I felt like they tried one upping the orginal that it cluttered the scene with uncessary backdrops. The blue lighting in the original made the scene feel chilling and cold, contrasting with the urgency and panic of Ellie defending herself against David. Then when Joel comes it, the blue background give a sense of comfort when he arrived to help Ellie. While the remake, they put fire in the background and with red lighting. It conflicts with the comforting scene of Joel calming Ellie down while there’s fire burning half the room down.
It’s a shame last of us part 2 destroyed everything of what the previous last of us part 1 stands for. The one it destroyed the most is the relationship between Joel and Ellie. Killing Joel was huge mistake.
Not only the fact that he was killed, but the sadistic, overly dismissive way they chose to implement it was honestly disgusting and a slap in the face to all of us who loved the original. It's not hard to feel the utter contempt for the character behind it, complete with the Druckmann self-insert spitting on Joel's corpse. That entire game was an abomination, built on a premise so moronic it boggles the mind, and should have been left in the trash heap where it belonged. Enough said.
Hard disagree. Part II is a perfect continuation of Part I that built perfectly on it's ending. It is every bit the masterpiece the first one was. Personally, I think I like it even more than the first. Joel's death was perfect, the fantastic perspective shift mid game was handled shockingly well and that gut wrenching final fight is one of my top 10 moments in gaming history. I am astonished by the vitriol it gets. I simply don't get it.
@@99RedRedfake I think other people forget that this is a post apocalyptic nightmare world that is dark and violent and people that you care about will die.
Since you put the Drew Studio theme and other music from the series in the background… are you ever going to make videos about Ace Attorney? I know you played the games quite a long time ago and mentioned JfA as one of your favourite games back in 2017 or so but you’ve never talked about the games on your channel. It could be interesting to hear your point of view. P.S. Apollo Justice’s soundtrack is top tier.
I honestly don't see a lot of room for new ideas nowadays. Video gaming's about half a century old now and A LOT has been done with it. It's gotten to the point where people are seriously hyped for a hi-fi sci-fi game in which you play as a realistic-ish CAT. Even Nintendo has slowed down their output of all-new franchises. It may be that we'll simply have to be satisfied with improving and expanding upon the old stuff. And just because Sony's games are made without crunch doesn't mean they don't have other developmental closet skeletons. Indeed, it may be because of some of those skeletons that the crunch is all but nonexistent as it may be applied with certain bias. And, indeed, there may be a deliberately skewed definition of crunch applied that slips by because most only have the popular impression in mind, which means there can still be crunch here without technically lying about it. I have no reason to trust Sony given their PR track record, especially after what happened in 2011. And I'll happily @ you with Kirby. As for TLOU, from what I'd heard about it, I get the feeling that both entries are good _games_ and good _stories_ -shut up, TLOUPII haters; you either don't understand the story or just want to be Joel forever keeping down "others" even though he'd never do that, but nope, anti-woke boner comes first for you-but bad _mixes of game and story._ It really seems like both aspects of each game were developed without each other in mind and to flex tech rather than really be a fully cohesive package with both aspects being strongly intertwined. Really doesn't push what video gaming can be despite appearing to do so on the surface. So I can't rightly praise the series, but I can't really scorn it, either.
I'm starting to think that Naughty Dog is the PlayStation mascot to compete with Nintendo's Mario and Xbox's Master Cheif. As for TLOU I'm starting to think that they'll keep porting this like with GTA 5 and Skyrim
The remasters of the Halo & Gears of War games are pretty much the same as this "remake", but they had the decency to only be $40.
it seems like this remake is a partial step towards naughty dog salvaging their reputation I say partial because I still despise companies that overwork their employees especially when it results in some being hospitalized, so yeah I think that naughty dog shouldn't be let off the hook for the last of us part 2's development quite yet
I personally don't think this game is worth getting unless you're a PC player who's gonna try it for the first time AND after a price drop (70 bucks for half of the original game? damn (yes, the multiplayer existed, and there were people who liked it)). I firmly stand by my belief that this was a pointless remake.
I love the last of us,played it for the Ps3 and ps4 but I think its unnecessary getting a remake of this game and not another Naughty Dog game or hell even an original game
No way is naughty dog getting any more money from me after their last game. They don't deserve it. There's also nothing here that I would personally say justifies the price point, and I'd almost say it's so bad I'd consider this a scam.
The PS5 remake of TLOU does look graphically better, but that's about it. There's almost nothing new added into it aside from some accessibility options, difficulty options and stuff like that. The game-play is basically the same with no new features added in and that's right next to the fact that the multiplayer from the original game was cut. Considering how they almost exclusively only changed the graphics and some sound design elements, this might as well just be a glorified remaster. If you thought this was going to be Resident Evil 2 Remake type of deal, it ain't. Put that all on top of the fact that this whole remake costs just like any new triple-A PlayStation 5 title and it results in even bigger disappointment, especially with how little is changed here. I'm not even going to talk about how much this remake is so pointless, the original game isn't even a decade old and there are so many other titles Sony has that could've used a remake. But nope, the story driven title from 2013 is the one to get such treatment, even though the original game still looks really good today. This whole remake is just a graphical upgrade that costs $70. It is definitely not worth the money, and from what I've seen from other people's thoughts, it should've been priced $30 or $40 at most. You might as well go and buy the remastered original version of the game for $5 to $10 and play that, it'll be pretty much the same experience and you'll find yourself spending way less money on it.
@@jman2856 The hell? When was a prone feature for enemies an improvement? As far as I know by all the footage of the game I saw, there’s nearly zero improvement to the game. Guns function the same and the enemies react the same as well. Just because their AI got ever so slightly beefier doesn’t mean it’s a major improvement, especially since the levels are all still small, giving very little room for said AI to shine. If this game does play better, I guarantee you it’s only better by a very small margin. These are still the same games, the only notable difference is the graphical upgrade.
I liked the first game mainly for the story but the gameplay was lacking. Part 2 with all the story issues had some very solid gameplay, even though that's mainly because it added changes that should've been there in tlou1 from the beginning. I was hoping that the remake would add some of those changes but it's disappointing that they didn't bring them over.

Yeah, many fans would probably agree that this new version isnt worth buying, especially if you have to buy the console just for it, but to be honest, what PS5 game justify the buy of the console alone? I think despite being very unnecesary they clearly putted effort into it, and as much as some people dont want to admit it, is the best version of the game. The price is really only its real problem, but imo a game doesnt score less for that reason alone.
@@diegomedina9637 I don't know, I think it had a sizeable player base. It wasn't as crazy as COD or Halo, but people seemed to enjoyed it quite a bit. It would be like if they made a Sonic Adventure 2 remake, and they removed the battle mode because it's not the main focus of the game.
Personally. I've thought Graphics have been "Good enough" for over 10 years. Where do we draw the line for fictional entertainment? Isn't half the reason a majority of folks play video games to escape reality? Do we reaaaaaally need to push for more realistic graphics every few years? When do we peak? When do devs just stop trying to push the bar so they can just make a good product without putting eyeliner on a dead horse?
I loved this game back in the PS4 but it was far from perfect. Especially on the mechanics standpoint. But it was certainly better than any Uncharted game because it was able to reduce ludonarrative dissonance and fit its gameplay with the story.
The should have added from 2 to 5 extra hour main story game content or 2 to 3 hours from side content of Joel or Ellie backstories. Co op was also another option
TLOU will always be my favorite game of all time. I don’t have a PS5 and don’t see this port as a necessity so I won’t buy it. But I understand why some would
I think that games Should be atleast 2 generations old to get a remake and if they are from the begining of their generation is better, TLOU 1 was almost a ps4 game and it looks like one that is why there has been so much backclass
i hope the next ps5 bundle Sony makes includes this game. i got my console with rift apart but this is a lot a game that everyone should give a go as their first ps5 game and hopefully their introduction to the last of us in general. wish there was a gameplay modifier to include prone and dodging since explosive arrows from part II are there but oh well. regardless, i love this remake and took one of my favorite games of all time to be perfect as it can be.
Spyro and crash are the two I hold every single remake too, Not only do you get three games all remade within different engines. It was all for the price of 40 dollars to get all three. You can't beat that. I doubt the last of us remake had nearly enough work on it compared to spyro and was far more expensive
I have the unpopular opinion and say the game was ok, but nothing great honestly. I don’t take away from other people enjoying it, of course. The online was the one thing I very much enjoyed about the game.
Idk, charging fans $70 for what are essentially accessibility options puts me off, I feel like they could've just... Updated the PS4 game to have them. If that really was the main reason for this remake to exist
Yeah really hard to care about this 6/10 interactive movie when the sequel exists that is worse than all the Life is Strange games combined. (0/10, F Tier)

These type of videos encourage laziness. Stop remaking and remastering and produce new products. We can't be playing the same thing over and over and over again
I can see why they wouldn't add prone, as it just wouldn't fit without changing level designs. But dodging seems like it could have been an easy win. Personally, I think its fine that the gameplay wasn't touched, it preserves the original intent of the game with improved visuals. However, $70 for a remake of a remaster that's not even that old, while missing content, is going to be a pass for me. I will pick it up on PC later, but I will pick it up on sale.
70$ is a waste of money. Should have been 40$ at most. Destroy All Humans 2 remake was done much better but still got worse reviews because the gaming industry is rigged.
I’d rather put $70 towards a new game/story like God of War Ragnarok. Last of Us part 1 is definitely a masterpiece and i won’t argue that BUT for me it’s not worth $70 as I’m someone who has purchased the game twice and played the same game on ps3 & the remastered version on PS4. Will wait for this to be on sale or on PS plus to play on my ps5. $70 could be worth it for first time players and for those who will get into this franchise for the first time coming from the HBO series they have coming up.
Wow, that frame rate is embarrassing. Even in the performance mode it isn't really coming close to a stable 60fps. That's like #1 on the checklist of rereleasing or remaking a game, and they fucked it up lol.
Holy fuck that last summary is exactly how I feel. I have my BC PS3 to be able to play all my games that I can’t play on the PS5. Sony doesn’t like to make it easy for us to play all gens

Lol, this game was made for people like me. I have never played any of them but The sequel seems so bad I don’t want to get invested. Oh well I guess I’ll wait for Ragnarok.
To my knowledge this game doesn't have any plot retcons (thankfully) so it's basically the same as the original despite the title implying that it was made to better tie into TLOU2, the worst game ever made. So still a 6/10 or 7/10 interactive movie. J already said that he loved the original so of course he loved the remake. And a review code doesn't mean that the reviewer isn't allowed to not like the game. A bunch of MegaTen RUclipsrs got review codes to Soul Hackers 2 and most of them bashed the game, at best saying that it was only okay. Awesome that you got a review copy! I'm truly happy to see your channel and reputation growing!
Features/content that ND could’ve added to justify the $70 price tag:
-Return and expand upon Factions/Multiplayer.
Honestly the game is fine as it is, it just shouldn’t have been charged 70 dollars
But honestly, there have been other remasters that charged full price and added almost nothing, like the Skyrim and Batman Arkham remaster
-a new multiplayer mode is being created so no point in wasting resources.
-there is a counter mechanic in the game. And if u add jump, prone or squeezing through then u have to change the whole level design and I don't think they wanted to do that
-instead of making dlc for a decade old game, they should first make dlc for tlou2.
Mafia definitive edition was only 40 dollars and a much better Remake.
@@whodatninja439 hell nah 😂😂😂 , I bought TLOU remake and it’s a much better remake

@Good Hunter facts, the walking segments were god-awful in that game
@Good Hunter It's even worse. The writing in TLOU2 is Life is Strange tier, only one level away from I Am Immortal tier which was so badly written that most people think it was written as a joke ironicly.
Yeah, it's not even in my top 5 or even 10. Great game; just not the second coming of chrono trigger or anything.
@Good Hunter
My major issue with Last of Us 2 is that it doesn’t feel like a Zombie game despite being a zombie game.
It's not worth 70 bucks. I allready own it twice over.
This seems like the most unnecessary remake. But the only thing that they definitely improved on is the accessibility options. Which I will always think is a fantastic thing.
But I have to ask. Is there motion aiming? I couldn't see you the option in this video
Yes, you can turn motion aiming on in the options much like Last of Us 2 on PS5
@@ninjasnakeevil9327 yessss. Thank you naughty dog. So many games, remasters and remakes never put them in. Like ratchet and clank, or the uncharted collection

Last of us has always been overhyped and I for love of me can't understand the hype.
(TLOU2)
@@krimsonkattIt's sad that Sony has only 2 platform series left, hell do they even do any type of RPG anymore?
They’re so underrated. I definitely recommend playing them if you can!
I think what i really appreciate about this remake is Ellie. The way her eyes look in certain scenes just blows me away. Also their iconic fight in the house after Ellie steals the horse, i love the fact that the mirror in that room is prestine and reflective, and just frames Ellie perfectly as Joel steps aside, forcing her to abrubtly see herself during this argument, and then says "im not her you know"
In the og, the mirror is broken and dirty and barely a thought cause its just background clutter. Here, you watch Joel step aside and we along with Ellie just see her perfect image in that giant mirror. Its kinda wildly transformative despite being such a small change
What does all these fancy graphics matter when it all gets ruined in part 2?
The last of us is my favourite game of all time as well.
I haven't played Part 2 yet.
I did like the story of the first one. While predictable I enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy the combat all that much nor the stealth.
Even so at that price and how Part 2 was received and pushed. I do foresee that having an impact on sales.
@@KumiChan2004 The last of us part 2 is shit.. like.. really shit.

The Last of Us has developed a dedicated speedrun community over the years: ruclips.net/video/cQXgWcyOXNQ/видео.html

This ☝️
It’s a shame last of us part 2 destroyed everything of what the previous last of us part 1 stands for.

P.S. Apollo Justice’s soundtrack is top tier.
Sweet review man. I have never played this game before, but I’ll definitely pick it up around Black Friday.
No. Naughty Dog has made bangers but no where has it reach Mario or Master Chief level of iconic. The most Sony has to that level is Kratos

I say partial because I still despise companies that overwork their employees especially when it results in some being hospitalized, so yeah I think that naughty dog shouldn't be let off the hook for the last of us part 2's development quite yet
I personally don't think this game is worth getting unless you're a PC player who's gonna try it for the first time AND after a price drop (70 bucks for half of the original game? damn (yes, the multiplayer existed, and there were people who liked it)). I firmly stand by my belief that this was a pointless remake.

No way is naughty dog getting any more money from me after their last game. They don't deserve it.
There's also nothing here that I would personally say justifies the price point, and I'd almost say it's so bad I'd consider this a scam.
broke ass boi crying lmfaooooo
They improved the ally/enemy A.I. and shooting mechanics significantly. It’s not worth $70 but it defiantly plays better than the janky original.
@@jman2856 The hell? When was a prone feature for enemies an improvement? As far as I know by all the footage of the game I saw, there’s nearly zero improvement to the game. I think that games Should be atleast 2 generations old to get a remake and if they are from the begining of their generation is better, TLOU 1 was almost a ps4 game and it looks like one that is why there has been so much backclass
Uncharted 1 would have been a better choice than this game.
@@jlev1028 Yes but its from the early days of the ps3, it would not be my choice but its old enough to recieve a Remake
Well, it is technically 2 gen old since it was a PS3 game.
@@sebastiankulche in the case of the last of us its a 2013 game which means end of ps3, not early ps3
@@AlexxxMYLSince2013 Is still PS3, not PS4 your dumbhead.
i hope the next ps5 bundle Sony makes includes this game. i got my console with rift apart but this is a lot a game that everyone should give a go as their first ps5 game and hopefully their introduction to the last of us in general. wish there was a gameplay modifier to include prone and dodging since explosive arrows from part II are there but oh well. regardless, i love this remake and took one of my favorite games of all time to be perfect as it can be.
The devs must've put in a Sly Cooper shirt for the sole reason so that you're able to make another Sly reference
Last of us is the most overhyped series to ever live
I'll wait for the PS6 remake.
Imagine spending money like this to justify a ps5 purchase
Man these comments hurt my head.
Why??
fr, sony ponies
@@jlev1028 it's comments like these that think their feeling are the truth.
What you can’t be serious this game is more like a movie a decent movie at best
Spyro and crash are the two I hold every single remake too, Not only do you get three games all remade within different engines. It was all for the price of 40 dollars to get all three. You can't beat that. I doubt the last of us remake had nearly enough work on it compared to spyro and was far more expensive
I think that, If they release this game with the new PSPLUS, not by sell, this will be a complete diffetent story.
I don’t mind the new detail and graphic upgrade but for $70 is a bit too much plus no multiplayer 🙁
8:08 ellie will wake up with a big headache.
I'm currently trying to figure out why the last of us pt 1 is $70 while the 2nd is $50
I have the unpopular opinion and say the game was ok, but nothing great honestly. I don’t take away from other people enjoying it, of course. The online was the one thing I very much enjoyed about the game.
they rerelease this game but not Jak And Daxter. WTF. also 70 Dollars!? again WTF.
Idk, charging fans $70 for what are essentially accessibility options puts me off, I feel like they could've just...
Updated the PS4 game to have them. If that really was the main reason for this remake to exist
dificult to care about it, when the The Last of Us 2 exist
Yeah really hard to care about this 6/10 interactive movie when the sequel exists that is worse than all the Life is Strange games combined. (0/10, F Tier)
@@krimsonkatt life is strange is one of those games you play and joke about with your friends. And honestly I enjoyed the first one the ones after not so much but I do see why people don’t like it max has some very cringy dialogue Chloe can be very annoying and at times very selfish in fact I found myself liking the side characters more then the actual main character especially Kate and warren I also enjoyed the soundtrack and the story the first time you play it with not spoilers is a interesting especially when it comes to the side characters if you can get past max’s cringe and Chloe’s constant blaming everyone but herself.
Good review.
You did a fine job.🙂👍
Personally I was gonna just wait for a sale, but at least they didn't actively make the game much worse
You can pick up the ps4 version for
"fully customizable experience [video settings]" LOL *laughs in PC version*
I think if you enjoyed the game the first time, the remake is right up your alley.
Except the new character models. They're weird
@@jmarra07
As a fan of the original they look fine to me.
Joel specially looks way more appropriate for a late 40 year old survivor
That's like #1 on the checklist of rereleasing or remaking a game, and they fucked it up lol.
i still think the whole remake is pointless
Milking a decent game*
Holy fuck that last summary is exactly how I feel. I have my BC PS3 to be able to play all my games that I can’t play on the PS5. Sony doesn’t like to make it easy for us to play all gens
Wheres the mutiplayer? Isnt this like $70?
No multiplayer sadly.
i'm amazed at how many people are giving this shit a pass because it's naughty dog/last of us. if any other game company kept rereleasing their games just with new make up people would be all over them. this is NOT a remake it is a glorified remaster.
At least, is more worked than the average remaster. I would say its a middle ground between a remake and a remaster.
@@sebastiankulche doesn't matter, they're gonna keep re releasing this damn game with very few new tweaks to it and keep charging full price. this is not a remake, re2 was a remake this is a remaster of a remaster. they need to move on and give us another shitty sequel to tlou2 and be done with the franchises. you gamers make it so easy for companies to bone you over.
@@themadtitan8408 Is ok to be wrong
@@sebastiankulche take your own advise.
It is indeed a pointless remake
here we are, tlou on pc.
Is gyro aim an option?
I hopped on the last of us train waaaaayyy late nvr played the 1st i had hella fun playing the 2nd minus what happened to joel
TLOU is not "perfection" in the first place it never deserved a remaster let alone a remake just an overrated mediocre piece of media
To me... I hated the Last of us part 1 as it felt too on rails, just felt generic outside of the story... I just care for gameplay games, not story games, but Last of us part 1 lives ON THE STORY ONLY.
>TLOU1 PS5 Objectivly looks worse than PS3/4.
>Nothing added at all.
>Perfecting Perfection
Mkay.
Lol, this game was made for people like me. I have never played any of them but The sequel seems so bad I don’t want to get invested. Oh well I guess I’ll wait for Ragnarok.
Hmm yeah review copy. Already know what that mean's
The only one who really LOVED the game was RamZaes but FFXIII-2 is his favorite game of all time so what does he know?
10/10 - IGN
@@krimsonkatt you sure I was sure Neil would try to add something or take away crucial plot points especially to demonize Joel.
