Fun fact uncharted 2 was my first uncharted game , I first played the running away from the vehicle demo and my dad bought it immediately when seeing me enjoy this game
My dad played the demo and got the game when he found it on sale . One of the first games I really understood what was happening and appreciated the story.
Good memories. I grew up playing video games with my dad. I graduated high school in 2009, and my parents bought me a PS3 for a graduation present. I bought both Uncharted 1 and 2 at the same time, and my dad, brother, and I laughed our way through them.
I wasn't a huge fan of this one at first but after repeat playthoughs I can definetly say this one will always be my favourite just top tier writing and most fun gameplay and it also has in my opinion the best villain in the series
Don't forget the multiplayer! It was AMAZING! Ive never had as much fun in a PvP game. Uncharted 3 was fun too but 2 was just 👌 with the coop missions too.

It's easy to forget all the build up and judge something based off of itself, but I like that you go the extra mile and include your judgement with the history, hence making the games you talk about even more special.
After 14 years, it’s still my favorite game of all-time. My favorite video game series ever, the second installment was pretty much perfect. Brilliant graphics (for the time, it was the best I’d ever seen on a console), the gameplay was great, the story was really cool, and the multiplayer was exceptional. Just a fantastic experience.
Uncharted 2 was definitely my favourite out of the ps3 bunch. I especially loved the firefight shortly after the train wreck but there's a ton of other memorable engagements in this game which I also enjoy, even on repeat playthroughs.
One of the greatest games ever made. It was my intro to the series while in college. It was an early birthday gift I got after seeing the trailers and got it on release. After I played it, my friend borrowed it and I immediately asked for the first game. Good times. Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3 were what I spent a majority of my free time playing besides MW2. Truly a great time.

I played The Nathan Drake Collection on my PS4 years ago, which looked gorgeous and ran at 60 FPS, but was curious about the original versions. In December 2022 I bought a PS3 to play some exclusives I missed back in the day. I played Uncharted 1. It was infuriating for many valid reasons, and didn't play as good as the remastered PS4 version, but I pushed on and finished it. I just started playing Uncharted 2 on the PS3 yesterday and wow, it's so improved from 1, leaps and bounds better both in gameplay and in graphics. Uncharted 2 still looks and feels like a next-gen game to me. From the first train wreck scene it made me feel that sense of awe and amazement from my childhood when a new system came out with a good exclusive game. Really looks and feels like a game from a newer console than the PS3 for sure. So much attention to detail in everything. I've played some PS4 games with worse graphics and less attention to detail. I haven't turned on my PS5 in months, which is crazy to me. That's shows me how good games never stop being good despite the passage of time. So, if you don't have enough money for a PS5 or don't wanna buy it yet due to lack of really good exclusives (modern games are missing something old games had), get yourself a well taken care of PS3 on eBay for under $100 and some of the best exclusives of its time. I also have Infamous 1 and 2, Killzone 2 and 3, and God of War III. Crazy how they're more fun to me than recent games on current consoles and PC. All graphics and music, but they're lacking fun and excitement. They're full of drawbacks and compromises. They feel more like overproduced half-billion dollar money grabs.
God I miss 30fps days now my monitor can’t even do it because it only goes down to 60hz. Something about 30fps is so “cinematic” compared to 60fps+ today that is so smooth it feels too real to be something I can imagine.
Man, your reviews never cease to amaze me - the history, the insights, it's great. Uncharted 2 is such a phenomenal title and sometimes we forget that. Just watching your review reminds me how amazing it was to play this game the first time - thank you for bringing back such great memories.
Best PS3 game ever made! I'll never forget when my mother got me a PS3 for Christmas as a surprise and Uncharted 2 and a strategy guide came along with it! Uncharted 2 was so great that the hours just melt away while playing it, the penalty for Drake dying isn't severe because of the generous pacing and checkpoints, and everything from the characters, voice acting, the music, the witty banter and gameplay were so immaculate. I'll forever love this game; this game sits near the very top of one of my favorite games of all time. It's easily one of the finest games I've ever played.
I think this game and 4 are the best uncharted games. And probably some of the best single player cinematic experiences. Also the online got me hooked for a year or more 😮😅 I have 500h in U4.
I was late to the franchise. Didn’t play it until after playing last of us. Last of us really brought me back into gaming when I was really done with games. Then I found out about uncharted. Thanks to naughty dog
I remember not being super into Drake’s Fortune. I played through the whole game just fine but I couldn’t help but feel like it didn’t meet my expectations. Even worse, I was playing The Last Of Us around the same time, which for me was a phenomenal experience, but it probably didn’t do Drake’s Fortune any favours. Despite this, my brother and I were on a mission to play through the main 4 games in the series, so we kept pushing forward. As soon as I saw the opening cutscene, I knew my brother and I were in for an absolute joyride.
I literally went through the exact same thing. Finished the 1st one not really vibing with it, then I booted up the second one and that intro sequence immediately hooked me in.
Finally catching up on video, been busy after watching the first Uncharted video, and was super pumped for this one. I had gotten a PS3 in order to play Metal Gear Solid 4 the year prior but nothing else was really drawing me in too much (aside from Infamous, which I recently started replay not long ago) but when the demo for Uncharted 2 dropped I figured I would give it a try despite never playing the first. I was absolutely blown away in every aspect, can even recall the day it released and almost exactly what I did that day, getting up early to take my mom to work, making an illegal turn because I wasn't familiar with the area, then hitting up the game store to play for hours. Definitely one of my favorite titles released that gen.
PS3 started slow but I’d say by the end of the generation they won. I loved the 360 but by the end it only had Halo and Gears exclusives. Bioshock and Mass Effect eventually become multiplatform but you needed a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid, Ucharted, God Of War, and The Last Of Us
This was one of the first ever games I remember reading Game Informer and giving any game a perfect score of 10. I never played Uncharted up to that point but I started with 2 during it’s release year. It was amazing, it felt like of the most cinematic and well-written games I had played yet. One of my favorite PS3 games of all times, along with Little Big Planet 2, MGS4, and Resistance
I recently starting replaying the entire trilogy on ps4 for nostalgia purposes, coming out of the decent first game, the second game was like a shot of adrenaline it delivered a bunch of excitement and elaborate set pieces.
Man… uncharted 2 changed the fucking game. I will never forget that feeling of launching the first five minutes and climbing out of the train then the game just never lets up and hits in terms of story, action and graphics. Just god dam playing that train level and realizing this is on a fucking ps3 was mind blowing. Let alone also it had multiplayer and even co op it was one of those games from just back in the day where the devs didn’t hold back and went all out in every aspect. Like they didn’t need to include multiplayer but they did and it had a surprising amount of depth while also having interactive moments that would change the level like the tank running through the town in Tibet. They obviously take this and ramp it up to another level in uncharted 3 but dam I love this game!
This game is awesome, story has one of the best back half’s ever imo, and the set pieces and characters are at their peak besides Uncharted 4 (the goat of the series)
I say uncharted 2 is incredible and did a lot that what needed to be fixed in uncharted one, much more intresting levels, characters older and new ones feel more fleshed and shoot outs aren't annoying

Shooting the helicopter boss reminded me of the gun missions in Sly 2. They felt very similar in many ways.
Uncharted 2 was one of my very first games I have ever beaten when I was young, maybe even the very first. I have no idea how I did it, I didn’t even need a guide or something I just went with the flow
I loved this game. I didnt get a ps3 til 2013 so when i bought U1 on boxing day, i bought this the day after beating 1. It must have been hell waiting 2 years.
This and Maxpayne 3 were some of the only games I have played that made me feel like I was playing an action movie. U2 really blew me away when it came out.
This game is my favorite video game of all time it has everything I want in a game funny relatable characters love to hate villains great action set pieces awesome soundtrack and beautiful graphics I love this game so much and I'm glad it's my favorite game of all time featuring my favorite video game series Uncharted and my favorite video game character Nathan Drake.
I got this game for Christmas alongside Batman: Arkham Asylum, both being awesome. And I love how far gone and pure evil Lazarevic is, that he fails to tell the difference between killing in cold blood and killing only to survive
Uncharted 2 was the last few games that blew my mind in terms of gameplay, graphics and story. The PS360 era was the last generation of innovation with big AAA titles. All big budget releases today just feel like an extension of that era. They look amazing and are fun but nothing groundbreaking.
Uncharted 2 is a masterpiece. I believe this is how you do a sequel. This is the best game to ever do a Sequel Hopefully spider man 2 can be masterpiece
I find it funny how this review & Bricky’s review have completely different tones despite both agreeing that Uncharted 2 is a damn good game Really shows how good reviewers can have differing but similar opinions
I must say as a person who has been team Xbox pretty much my whole life (my dad got one for my older brothers birthday), I will say the uncharted games were one of the few games that really made me jealous that I didn’t have a PlayStation. That and the new Spider-Man games 😢
Tying into the mocap not being a thing yet, I remember Claudia Black (Chloe's actress) saying in an interview that when they have the scene in the bed where Chloe runs her fingers up Nate's chest, she did that naturally and they stopped the filming to have a whole conversation about adding the motion in because it wasn't planned but wondered if it was worth the extra time to add it to the scene.
If only 2 had 3’s combat and jumping takedowns. If Cuckman hadn’t have taken over uncharted really could’ve ended much better, and probably had more games after Nate’s run as the protagonist. I like Nate but if they made like 10 games and he’s always the protagonist that could probably feel way overdone.
I actually never knew the fat model existed until about a year back when i got one in order to relive some childhood classics without having to go and play at my grandmas. I was only a kid at the time, i was about 5 years old when we swapped our ps2 for a ps3 slim, my mom most likely bought that second hand like we do for most of our consoles at home. The fat model came out 2 years before i was born(im born 2008) so that probably plays a big part as well as that my aunt and grandma both had the slim version as well.
My first uncharted game and I was hooked, i own every single game except the 1st one. I still has not played it I just looked up the important lore from the 1st game. But 2-4 I played the hell out of them I also played the spin off with Chloe as the main character but i did not enjoy that 1 as much. But it was still a memorable game with some interesting character interactions you normally wouldn't see.
(Writing this before the video plays) Ive played uncharted 2 on ps4 with the nathan drake collection. It was fun and the story was quite good, i got attached to the characters. Thats all i ask of a game as its own thing and it delivered, as a sequel it did as well
It's a great game and improves on the first in every way. However it still relies a little too much on throwing enemies at you. Nowhere near as much as the first, but there are still moments where it gets a bit tiresome. I've just started 3 so hoping it has a little less of that
@user-ms8qn5qy1p Same thing happened to me. I think Uncharted 2 is the game in the series to throw you like 900 enemies to you. Literally the highest count of enemies in the series
@@purefoldnz3070 da fuck 2 is the best in the series and the yetis are just the monsters it was fun and entertaining to fight them they were also a big thing for the story and the tree of life
i still think abt this game all the time. ill never forget my dad buying me the first uncharted bc my mother said mw2 would be too violent and that game looked better bc she read the back lmao. I love that she made that decision and how wrong she was lmaooooo
Most of the time, I don't agree with people when they say "[Game in franchise] is the best game of the franchise". But this is one of the few games where I agree it's the best in its franchise. Not a perfect game to me as Uncharted is not my favorite series, but I very much enjoyed Uncharted 2, compared to the other games. Also the ending is great with Nathan and Eliana's conversation on how worried Nate was about Eliana. Best in the series.
Great video, but you forgot to mention the multiplayer. I'm assuming you weren't a fan, but when uncharted 2 came out the multiplayer had a big community
Wow, this brings back memories. I remember getting two copies for my little brother a few years ago, the first one didn't work, so I bought another copy, then we went to the back yard and smashed the first copy with a shovel then buried it. moving on, my brother loves Naughty Dog games, he's owned the Jak games, all four Uncharted games, played The Last of Us on PS3 & PS4. He still plays TLOU2 even today. I can see how Uncharted 2 cemented his love for them. Speaks volumes J when I didn't hear you say ANYTHING bad about this one. Be prepared for Uncharted 3, I think it was the first game I've seen get a 10/10 from multiple sites.
You know when the ps5 remaster came out, I was hoping bluepoint would have added gyro aiming as an option. It's a highly wanted option and bluepoint usually nailed remasters and remakes. The lack of the option was a massive disappointment. Especially considering you can still get the older collection and other games on the ps4 and still play it on the ps5
It’s kind of like Temple of Doom not saying it’s the best Indy film, but it’s the best place for a new comer and so is UC2 which actually might be the best in series!

Even the cover art is good, the cool blue colour stands out
Ah Uncharted 2, one of my favorite games of all time
I actually never knew the fat model existed until about a year back when i got one in order to relive some childhood classics without having to go and play at my grandmas.
I do wonder at times if the reception of the PS3 six-axis controls would have been better received if it was implemented like the modern Gyro aim.
Uncharted 2>Uncharted 4.
No question.
I just discovered Nolan north play through the franchise and it's fuckin great LMAO
Uncharted 2 and 4 are such masterpieces
Can't decide between this and Uncharted 4.
The uncharted games defined my childhood
This was my favourite game of all time for a while
My first uncharted game and I was hooked, i own every single game except the 1st one. I still has not played it I just looked up the important lore from the 1st game. But 2-4 I played the hell out of them I also played the spin off with Chloe as the main character but i did not enjoy that 1 as much. But it was still a memorable game with some interesting character interactions you normally wouldn't see.
Definitely my favorite in the series with 4 being a very close 2nd
(Writing this before the video plays)
Ive played uncharted 2 on ps4 with the nathan drake collection.
I've just started 3 so hoping it has a little less of that
I'd rank them like this
1.uncharted 4
2.uncharted 3
3.uncharted 2
4.uncharted 1
@@user-ms8qn5qy1p I'm not going to argue with you, but I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a controversial take!
@@damo_c probably
@user-ms8qn5qy1p Same thing happened to me. I think Uncharted 2 is the game in the series to throw you like 900 enemies to you. Literally the highest count of enemies in the series
I love this game i do.....but boy, did the Crushing difficulty crush my soul
It's definitely for me one of the greatest games of all time.
it doesnt hold up well at all. Lots of weird stuff like the yeti encounters.
@@purefoldnz3070 da fuck 2 is the best in the series and the yetis are just the monsters it was fun and entertaining to fight them they were also a big thing for the story and the tree of life
@@Türkiyem-61 da fuck is right when talking about this game lol.
@@purefoldnz3070 keep sucking 3 with the worst villains in the series than hahaha two has the best action and story so yeah keep saying da fuck
i still think abt this game all the time. ill never forget my dad buying me the first uncharted bc my mother said mw2 would be too violent and that game looked better bc she read the back lmao. I love that she made that decision and how wrong she was lmaooooo
I’m the only person in this entire world that actually likes aiming grenades with the controller
For me personally is uncharted 2 the dark knight of the uncharted series
12:27 What the hell is that gunfire?
Most of the time, I don't agree with people when they say "[Game in franchise] is the best game of the franchise". But this is one of the few games where I agree it's the best in its franchise. Not a perfect game to me as Uncharted is not my favorite series, but I very much enjoyed Uncharted 2, compared to the other games. Also the ending is great with Nathan and Eliana's conversation on how worried Nate was about Eliana. Best in the series.
My top 5 game ever played ( fighting that yeti after being stalked scared me shit less in high school
Great video, but you forgot to mention the multiplayer. I'm assuming you weren't a fan, but when uncharted 2 came out the multiplayer had a big community
Uncharted 2 does everything a video game sequel should do.
Agreed
Damn i really do forget how early the ps3 is. Human models look wildly uncanny lmao
I was waiting something of Sonic P-06 , right now that the Silver path is out now
Sony Stripped the PS3 of PS2 compatibility with the 80 gig fat PS3 before the slim was released.
Man, this game's multiplayer was a time
Yeah this and 3 were peak to bad they didn't port them to ps4/5
Anyone know the type of mic he’s using? Shopping around for a new one and I can’t really make out the name 😅
It’s kind of like Temple of Doom not saying it’s the best Indy film, but it’s the best place for a new comer and so is UC2 which actually might be the best in series!
