There might be an abundance of walking simulator moments in Uncharted 4. But playing out that Madagascar jeep chase and exploring Libertalia are some of my favorite gaming memories to date. The in-universe Crash Bandicoot and Monkey Island references were a blast as well.

The voice actor of Sully actually commented on Amy's departure in an Interview a year or so ago. According to him, Amy was let go out of the blue with only a vague sense of "some sort of internal mechanism going on behind the scenes", and many of the actors came together and discussed leaving the project as well. They did not do so because Amy advised them to stay with it. The reason so many link Neil Druckmann to this "behind-the-scenes" comment is a statement from writer/director Joe Cornish who was once slated to direct an Uncharted movie and was interviewed about the project after he had met Amy. After first forgetting about his name, he called Neil Druckmann a jerk-off in a throw away comment and accused him of "kind of" stealing credit for the Uncharted franchise. They went all in with this game and went out with a bang. It's cool how they took everything they learned from the last 3 Uncharted games to make this finale grand.
The one thing that disappointed me with Uncharted 4 was the lack of the supernatural finale like the previous games. It would have been awesome had the pirates come back to life as zombie pirates or something with the final boss being a zombified Avery.
This game holds a special place in my life. Not only was the PS4 the first game i fully bought on my own, but it was also the first bundle pack. And man did i have a blast when i first experienced it, still enjoy it to this day for multiple playthroughs.

My favourite moment is probably when they first get into Libertalia itself, when they just take a seat in that old bar, just taking a break, no enemies in sight, I mean just their realization that this was a genuine pirate colony where the pirates retired to, these ruins still standing after centuries of disuse. Seeing what happened to the colonists was heartbreaking, people like to romanticize pirates, but at the end of the day, pirates are still the bad guys, their greed was always going to get the better of them. One thing I like is that it's never actually explained whether the pirate lords always intended to rob the colonists, or if they just wanted to recoup their losses after spending so much money building up the colony and setting up all the challenges along the drake's journey. Or even if they just got greedy after seeing how much money the pirates had gathered when they got to Libertalia.
My all time favourite Uncharted. I didn’t mind the walking simulator nature of it, The characters and story keep me going and the combat is so much fun, especially the Lost Legacy dlc.

This is probably my favourite of the franchise and my favourite game of all time, dethroning the gears of war games. I just like the story for the game, it's fun, the emotion is there, and well the sequences where it's a normal life. Besides a normal and epilogue, my favourite chapter is probably at sea. It's such a relaxing mission and the chapter itself looks amazing. The water, dark clouds, green areas that stick out, almost everything

I still think Druckmann clearly had something out for the Uncharted series. He clearly preferred his lame zombie franchise, and wanted to end Amy’s series. There’s no reason Uncharted 4 should have been the end. No one asked for a plot heavy series that felt unnaturally stilted compared to the rest of the series. It’s the odd man out. Uncharted should have stayed serialized and continued to churn out sequels. Also Sam’s a lame character. Just because fans like Troy Baker doesn’t mean he’s a good character and ever should have been included in Uncharted.
It’s so weird that you mentioned you played it once and didn’t pick it back up, despite saying it was your favorite. I had a very similar experience. I platinum-ed every game in the series… except 4. I’m curious as to why that is.
@@ktshipman21 Yeah but story becomes a drag if you're trying to get a platinum. If you're trying to play on Crushing or mop up treasures, the last thing you (or at least I) want to do is go through all the slower moments again. Oh man pushing this crate is so much harder on Crushing. Climbing this wall is so much harder on Crushing. And so on. It was already kind of a drag to have to redo all those parts that don't change in 1-3, but 4 has so many more of them and they're all so much longer.
@@mjc0961 that’s a fair point. And maybe that’s the answer. But part of me wonders if it’s fatigue, somehow. This game had a lot more action set pieces than previous games, and I wonder if after playing it, I just felt like it would be too much of an emotional investment
Gotta be honest this is probably my least favorite game in the series. I really only felt into it when Nate and Elena were able to interact or when Sully was with you but I just found Sam to be completely unlikable in this one and Nate feeling like he has to lie to Elena feels forced. When its just Nate and Sam I felt really annoyed by it.
Uncharted 4 is a game everyone needs to play. It’s action, stealth, fps, open worldly, beautiful! I recently played on PS4 Pro and Im not sure how it would have ran on the PS4. As using a better hard drive theres not really loading times, and theres no screen tearing, and the games in 4K. So it was a wonderful game! Its also long, has so many environments, and the story really connects the uncharted series to end Nates legacy, but leave it open ended for someone else’s character for a reboot one day!
This is such an icionic Franchise I love the charatchers the vioce actors everything. I like 4 takes a little slower pace really let you know where Nate is now in his life having setteld down with Elena but you can see he still yarns for the Adventure then San comes back into his life. Rafe is also my fave Uncharted villain
The platforming had some great edge-of-my-seat moments, and gameplay in new games hasn't made me feel that way in a long time. Great game, but I think it might have went on just a bit too long and the shooting mechanics get a bit dull over time.
today i went to play uncharted 4 and i was in apologo and in that part where sam fixes the boat and nathan goes back to driving me from there the game doesn't advance. I mean go ahead but after that part of Sam fixing the boat when I go back to driving with Nathan normally some stones would appear and the boat would be pushed by another one in flames. But I went to play and none of that appeared and I was always stuck in that part of the apologo. Does anyone know what is going on
I platinumed the legacy of thieves collection and can confidently say I wanna do it again on the ps4 games uncharted is literally 1 of 2 game series I can play multiple times back to back the only other one is insomniac Spider-Man
in uncharted 5 youre playing as nathan drakes lesbian daughter in an open world action adventure. wait i want to bash Sony but an open world and Uncharted could really be something amazing.just imagine you go out by yourself have an open world and everywhere secrets and mysterys .youre of the Explorer
I'm gonna be honest. I have never had any interest in all of the Uncharted games, not at all. Everytime I just never had any interest in it, but after watching the Uncharted movie, which I love fight me, I got interested in the games and 4 I probably my most favorite.
Uncharted 4 is not an uncharted game, filled with so much driving, so much slow pacing. Rafe is some stupid university kid trying to prove himself, not a villian and then we get some weird sword fight thing. Sam was a dumb edition of the game, just randomly oh Nate has a brother that's never been talked about.
There might be an abundance of walking simulator moments in Uncharted 4. But playing out that Madagascar jeep chase and exploring Libertalia are some of my favorite gaming memories to date. The in-universe Crash Bandicoot and Monkey Island references were a blast as well.

I still think Druckmann clearly had something out for the Uncharted series. He clearly preferred his lame zombie franchise, and wanted to end Amy’s series. It’s so weird that you mentioned you played it once and didn’t pick it back up, despite saying it was your favorite. I had a very similar experience. I platinum-ed every game in the series… except 4. I’m curious as to why that is.
I'd imagine because 4 is more reliant on its story than previous installments which is felt in gameplay
@@The810kid granted, but generally story is what keeps me coming back to a game rather than gameplay.
Uncharted made me think about Nate and Elena’s relationship because there’s not many games that come close to or top that relationship in gaming.
Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor actually does what Uncharted for does but without being boring.
Finished Lost Legacy recently for the first time. Was very, pleasantly surprised
18:17 I am definitely doing that with my Wife just saying, but man Uncharted 4. The game that told me to get a History Degree
This is such an icionic Franchise
I love the charatchers the vioce actors everything. I like 4 takes a little slower pace really let you know where Nate is now in his life having setteld down with Elena but you can see he still yarns for the Adventure then San comes back into his life. Rafe is also my fave Uncharted villain
This game gets better the older I get
The platforming had some great edge-of-my-seat moments, and gameplay in new games hasn't made me feel that way in a long time. Great game, but I think it might have went on just a bit too long and the shooting mechanics get a bit dull over time.
Wow this game turns 8 today didn’t even realise
today i went to play uncharted 4 and i was in apologo and in that part where sam fixes the boat and nathan goes back to driving me from there the game doesn't advance. I mean go ahead but after that part of Sam fixing the boat when I go back to driving with Nathan normally some stones would appear and the boat would be pushed by another one in flames. But I went to play and none of that appeared and I was always stuck in that part of the apologo. Does anyone know what is going on
I platinumed the legacy of thieves collection and can confidently say I wanna do it again on the ps4 games uncharted is literally 1 of 2 game series I can play multiple times back to back the only other one is insomniac Spider-Man
This came out 7 years ago wtf??? I just finished the Uncharted collection and started 4, and man the quality does not feel like a 7 year drop
To the fans of this channel or viewers of this video
Have a Fantastic life
I may not know you but I wish you the best
Great review
in uncharted 5 youre playing as nathan drakes lesbian daughter in an open world action adventure.
wait i want to bash Sony but an open world and Uncharted could really be something amazing.just imagine you go out by yourself have an open world and everywhere secrets and mysterys .youre of the Explorer
Everytime you say your old it makes me feel old cause your not old 😂 I was out of high school for 7 years when you were in middle school
When I saw "Uncharted 4, 7 years later" I was like, he means Uncharted 2, right? RIGHT?
I'm gonna be honest. I have never had any interest in all of the Uncharted games, not at all. Everytime I just never had any interest in it, but after watching the Uncharted movie, which I love fight me, I got interested in the games and 4 I probably my most favorite.
17:08 Super factual
first ever video game to ever make me fun, imo the best Uncharted game :}
I wish they would give us a new uncharted game with it being Sam’s game and possibly Nate’s daughter Cassie.
Sweet, a new That Boy Aqua video lol
Ah, I'm just kidding J
