I was only half way through the video when I knew for sure I HAD to make this. It ended up being the family's sweet treat for the SuperBowl this evening. By far one of the most delicious cakes ever!! It was very easy to make. I recommend cutting into it a few minutes after taking it out of the pan. The warmth really elevates the flavor. Definitely a 5-Star review!!
My three year old and I made this cake last night, it was delicious! It is very lemony, so if you want to taste the ginger then add more. Thank you for this recipe it is a definite keeper!
To get more juice from the lemons, take the peel out of the squeezer, fold it in half, put it back in and squeeze again and you will get a lot more juice out of it.
@@rufusred44 well after I used it, I can still squeeze more juice, I wanted to make the tool works, so I have to add more in the basket. I double them up when I'm using limes
I’m sort of new to baking and read an article recently about a medaled and famous French pastry chef who said “always taste the batter as you go on, in case you missed or are lacking more of an ingredient”: wise advice I think but never see any RUclips videos that do this. Sacre bleu!
I"m going to try this recipe, cut in half for a small heart shaped molded pan that I will bake in 2 batches in my air fryer, so I'll have 2 layers, or 2 cakes, (maybe I'll do a simple frosting?) for my valentine :)
I love lemon-ginger tea, so I imagine this will be delicious. I will be making a vegan version of course, so that everyone can enjoy it (some in my house are allergic to eggs and other can't eat dairy).
@@helpfulnatural I use a vegan sour cream made by Tofutti. They also make very good vegan cream cheese as well. They do not have any after taste, as some often do. You could also make vegan sour cream and cream cheese using cashews.
I cut down the sugar to 1-3/4cups to not overpower the lemon flavor, and used 2tbsp fresh ginger instead of candied ginger. Still came out good. Just a bit on the dense side for my taste. I'll probably cut down on the flour to 2-1/2 cups next time around and see if the airiness improves.
Seems to be a great recipe. I'll try it out this week. I just have to say that Lindsay is the most beautiful lady I've ever seen. Those eyes are just amazing.

This is a nice simple cake that I would eat because it is not over the top with icing and sweetness. Another favorite is hot milk cake.

Just half the recipe. Or, make a whole recipe and make TWO 6" bundt cake and freeze one. I do that all the time.
