    Very cool video today Scott...Good for you that you are selective in what you review....that shows ultimate 'dedication-to-the-cause'!! Having said that, I am glad you integrated that piece of gear into your system,, and goes to show that one can have an excellent listening experience WITHOUT necessarily forking over $20K for a system....The fact you already DO have a decent system works well...and I think that is where I am heading...a nice system...and stick with streaming...I am not sure I can afford to be spending lots on vinyl, although I am 'old-school' in that regard and appreciate all who do....all the best...talk soon!

    The only streaming device I have is an early Sonos which, for some reason, now refuses to connect. I must say I don’t miss that inability to stream as I rarely used it when it worked. Great review on this though, Scott and that’s great value for the money too.

      Thanks, Andrew. I wouldn't feature it if I didn't have a positive experience with it. For a component of its type, it's fun, reliable, affordable and sounds nice with the best mastered tracks.

    Hey Scott. Nice piece of kit.
    You probably don't remember that Bille Holliday and Lester Young CD I mentioned on my rattle through on the live stream. However, I feel with your love of Billie you would warm to this album and streaming is where I first discovered it. Also, do you know Melody Gardot? If not, I think she's worth a listen. Her album One and only thrill is such a great late-night listen. Catch you in the next stream mate.

    I was surprised to see this Scott, I have been using a Auris bluME Pro for a few years and love it. Only negative is I have to connect bluetooth on my phone everytime I use it.

      Yes, it is a bit different content for my channel! But it is important to me and I really think it's a great unit. Mine doesn't automatically pair every time either. Are you using Apple devices?

      You can get a lot of bang for your money now ! Trust me, you can spend thousands on highend Dac / streamers and it still can’t approach the quality of sound of a good Analog source !

    • @ThePressingMatters

      For sure. I can easily hear the superiority of my analog rig, but this is surprising for its intended market. I'm enjoying it

    If you have an existing DAC, you can skip the Blu ME D/A and go straight thru digital. I have a Schitt DAC, and I bought the non-pro unit and went optical to my DAC. Note that with a Samsung android phone like mine, I can send Atmos content to the Blu ME, which often has more dynamics than the straight hi-res mastering.
    This is an essential device. It's great to preview and explore with.

      Interesting comment, thank you! No I have no existing DAC, but what you are saying is very exciting. I didn't realize the functionality could be separated like that.

    I heard it at Scott's and I didn't run out of the room! Meaning, it caught my attention. In fact, it was VERY surprising! Or put another way, I rather stream something HQ through this than play a poorly mastered record on a multi kilobuck analog rig! This is way better!

      What did I have on? Sade Love Deluxe or Marcin Kashmir? Both sound wonderful streamed. That was really cool to see your reaction! Of course you've been in professional hi fi audio for decades - you're the reason my system sounds so good! You helped build it 😁

    Uh oh! You are going digital 😮. Vinyl is still a more “real” playback but the digital is getting better. I use Dolby Atmos in “stereo” mode and it is pretty great. That is the future. Unfortunately most of the new modern releases are mastered like garbage. I love my vinyl but to me…most of this new music nowadays is digitally produced (pro tools etc). So at some point we will all have to bring the digital in. In the right way. 👍🏻

    • @ThePressingMatters
      @ThePressingMatters  16 дней назад +1

      Now don't panic 😁
      I'd say I'm dipping my toe into it! Vinyl is my first love and the reissue scene is wonderful, but with this device, I've heard so much 'new' music, and it's fun to sample tracks that you wouldn't hear otherwise. Interestingly, 90% of the demonstrations at the audio show were digital. I suppose for ease, but there's some pretty impressive sound to be had with the hi res services.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't an old Airport Express or even an old AppleTV connected to your system offer the same quality audio for Apple users?

    • @ThePressingMatters
      @ThePressingMatters  7 дней назад

      I am not really sure about that. So you're thinking of streaming audio through the Apple TV device? Maybe? I get 44.1 / 24 bit with the Auris. Certainly it's a more elegant solution.

    LDAC us not hi res nor is it lossless.

    • @ThePressingMatters
      @ThePressingMatters  13 дней назад

      It would be higher bit rate than what you saw with AAC? The literature makes it seem like this is the highest option.

    • @ThePressingMatters
      @ThePressingMatters  13 дней назад +1

      This is what they are saying. Is it not true? I wasn't able to see what LDAC could do.
      bluMe Pro is a premium HiFi Bluetooth Receiver that unlocks the world of lossless music streaming to bring high definition Bluetooth connectivity to any existing vintage HiFi stereo systems, A/V stereo receivers or powered speakers.
      Powered by a premium audiophile quality 32-bit DAC along with the superior LDAC audio codec and enhanced digital output capabilities, bluMe Pro has been designed to provide a lossless audio experience from any phone, tablet or computer.

      Now now just calm down. I knew you would be prickly about vinyl vs digital comparisons. I didn't do extensive comparisons, but streamed things I recently heard on vinyl. There is a difference obviously. It's not going to reach a $7,000 front end. There was a superiority to vinyl that this can't touch. This device is not aimed to do that. But it doesn't embarrass itself in a decent system.
