- 5 GOLF TIPS TO BREAK 100 - SIMPLE GOLF TIPS
If you could wave a magic wand and take 5 shots or even just a couple of your score now, I'd bet you would! In this golf lesson Matt Fryer takes you through 5 tips that can help you lower your golf scores. This golf lesson is aimed at breaking the 100 barrier, but even if you consistently break that on the golf course, there might be something in here that you have forgotten about or never thought of doing that could lower your scores even more!
Even the greats like Gary Player, Rory Mcilroy are looking for little gains that can help them get more out of their golf swing and golf game and this golf lesson could hold that key for you....if it doesn't why not share it with a golfer you know is trying to break the 100 barrier on the golf course.

Good advice. Absolutely crucial to avoid big crooked numbers! Recently carded a triple on the front nine and a quadruple on the back nine, finished with a 102. Both were the result of mental errors followed by bad swings. It takes real discipline to take the medicine, do damage control and get back into play. Still working on that!
Great video, love how you've illustrated that this game is all about overcoming your own mind whilst playing and also thank you for all the hard work you put into making these videos, they're a real blessing.
That's really nice of you to say Thank you.
Thanks Matt, this advice will help alot. Your videos seem to be better and better.
As always, great tips Matt. So much of this game depends on course management and you’ve reminded me that better scores are achievable if I put away the Hollywood shots.
one of your best lessons well explained and has given me food for thought thank you matt
My pleasure Brian and glad it has got you thinking. Apply these tips or even just focus on one and you'll see the scores improve
Hi Matt, really enjoyed this lesson, as someone who has only started playing since August I can relate to many of your tips especially number 5, and tomorrow I promise I won't add my scores up till I walk off the course, focusing on the shots, not the score whilst on it. Many thanks for the great advice.
Thanks Matt. Good stuff. Will be watching a lot till about May because of snow. Keep the great tips for us guys trying to break 90-100 consistently this year!
Thanks so much! Very helpful!
Awesome Matt. Thanks
Excellent tips. Course managment is a key part of the game.
Great tips here. Thanks
Clear simple real, thank you
Good video and tips Matt. The chip and run is something I need to get back to its much more consistent thanks for reminding me
It is the shot that gets forgot about but is so handy
Excellent again. Thanks
Great tips, Matt. Especially Number 5. I don't add up my score until I get into the car and get ready to go home. I like to see how the number corresponds to my feelings about how I played. Usually, they're similar.
Thanks Matt
Loving the on course tip format
Keep up the good work
Thanks Brandon, will be doing more of these so stay tuned
Very helpful tips
Good one Matt ,keep it simple, know your skill and play to your abilities and your score will come down.
I'm often within 10 shots of breaking 100. Not quite there yet. I like the idea of creating my own "par" like you said: a par five becomes a par seven, etc. Less pressure.
What a great video, just starting again at golf and the breaking 100 is getting closer. Gonna use these to smash it
After watching this I can’t wait to get back on the course and see how many shots I can improve by.
Last time I played (9 holes) I Shot 57 (par 35).
Hopefully can go sub 50
Cheers, Matt. Another great video.
Cheers Ade glad you enjoyed it
Superb Matty I balls up on the 18 th to break 100 , a few days ago by trying the Hollywood shot 😩🤬ended up on 102 , great advice keep up the good work pal 👍
Nice tips
Great vid, simple but important advice. I'm at the stage of breaking 100, playing off 26 so will put this into practice to see what happens. Thanks for great tipd
My pleasure Graeme, sure the tips will shave a few off the score
I haven’t hit a driver for years now. Was down to 7 at my lowest but stopped playing just getting back into it and trying to get below 15 this summer. Playing chip and run shots helped me save so many shots
Really helpful Matt, just pushing the 100 from my 32 hc and playing to mid 90s 3 or 4 times. As I move into my new Cleveland Launcher HB irons this w/e I will have your advice at the front of my mind. Play the percentage shot, use your shots & above all enjoy.
Good man, enjoy the new clubs
Really enjoy your golf tips. Your strategy tips should save at least a stroke per hole. Thanks!
Cheers matt great Vid
Thanks Craig, which tip was the one for you?
Simple yet effective. The amount of times I've ended up in the rough from the tee and then think I can cream one onto the green from the rough! That combined with the fact I practice the flop shot everyday in my living (with training balls) is probably why I'm not getting great scores!
Great tips. If I'm really under trees like that I've been known to get the putter out ......👍
Great stuff - no. 6 is don’t count your score until you finish!
Hahah! I literally just watched my golf guys whatever they are called with top five tips to break 100... then clicked yours... what do you know! Exact same 5 tips! It sounds like i need to give this a go then if it were so good its been made twice!
I left my driver in the car and cut 5 strokes off immediately 😂😂😂
Dude for real! The course I play is really short and narrow, the good news is I have loads of confidence when I go to a new track but the bad news is I’m hitting driver when I probably only need 5 iron. Need to leave my ego in the car. I reason with myself that’s I’m hunting eagles.
@@blackedmirror5073 playing to our strengths is easier than playing with our ego
Well done playa
Knew that was Warrington instantly, big up 🤟
So if I am a double bogie golfer I should add 2 shots to each hole as par?
Really good points. The last, focus on each shot, seems to be my downfall on the last few holes. Great video, Matt.
you prolly dont care at all but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Amir Izaiah Instablaster ;)
Brilliant video Matt, having shot 104 last time out, these tips would have helped me break 100 for the first time since I came back to playing golf after 15 years away. That said, getting straight out of the car and being 8 over for the first 2 holes didn't help!!
i use to count my score right from first hole thered be times when i had a crap start and made a 7 on a par 4 and im putting pressure on myself staright away i soon sacked this off and just went out and enjoyed my round give the score card to a mate and worry about the score in the bar at the end
Good video. I doubt that too may 100+ golfers need a driver in their hands though. Most are better off with a fairway wood or hybrid.
Excellent presentation, thanks for all the tips. Just one point, not a criticism, could you leave the written tips up a little longer so I can read them and digest rather than speed reading. Don’t want to stop the flow of the lesson. Many thanks and keep the instructional videos coming.
Always start losing my game at hole 16 as it is very difficult to play because of water and distance. Water causes 2 strokes so hard to recover. Might also be getting tired and letting down on mental part. Will try and remember these tips to save 4 or 5 strokes per game. Thanks
Yep it's tricky maybe try a new strategy to avoid the water, lay up to your favourite distance or change the tee shot to hit the second with a more appealing club and see if that helps.
Gotta get that 99 on my next day out on the course
Great video Matt but you’re assuming that a player with a handicap of 25 ish can actually hit the ball where they want to or consistently hit a shape of shot, I try to hit a straight each time but sometimes it goes left or right or straight.
Play off front tees, that will help as well. Matt you went to the blue tees
I had two rounds making 43 and 39 points stableford and ended up in hcp 16. Now I can’t live up to it. Misserable rounds since then. Now I think I belong in about 23.
How to hit golf ball clean with your irons with out taking to much ground
Need to edit your graphics for No.3
How do you find out what your handicap is? I play somewhat frequently but never had a handicap because I play for fun and not in any matches would love to figure out what my handicap would be.
The handicap would be given by the comps committee of the golf club usually after play 3 rounds to get your average score. If your just playing on your own take say 5 scores add them up, divide by 5 and that would be your handicap. so 5 80's on a par 71 is 45 over divide by 5 gives you 9 handicap.
@@Mattfryergolf ok awesome thank you so much! Was wondering how they figured that kind of thing out.
My mind on the golf course is not a beautiful thing😂😂😂 great tips. How's this gonna tail of 2, 9s front lost 8 balls shot 56 was in full hulk mode. On the turn drank an ice cold beer teed of with 5iron on next nine except the part 3s shot 41.
I think my biggest problem is that I rush when I get up to take my shot. I need to stay more focused before and during the stroke
At least you know what to work on now 👍
Would be scratch again in 2 weeks!
I hope so pal
Don’t play like you’re trying to be RUclips famous and you should be good.
