A tribute to celestial rings...with my extended version of Cymarron's simple and gorgeous "Rings".
Requested by 8ntnomo ...thanks!
Never get tired of hearing this song, brings back such good memories, yea, ok, I'm 63, we had the best music!
John absolutely...late 60s 70s....
Well....you old buzzard...try 70....and Of course..this song convinced me to reconcile with my future wife... THE flower 💐 child of the 70s....I never knew until years later just how Wild her flowers grew because I worked the graveyard shift then....I'm glad all of those guys enjoyed it anyway... 😂
@@puppycat58 A golden era for music! ☮
So true
I'm 65 and loved this pretty little song. I've searched for it for years and finally found it.
This song is 10,000 times better than any of the shit on radio today.
No kidding !! 😁
Multiply what you said by a factor of 10,000 !!
😁
Ditto
Great version of this song! The glorious Summer of 1971! My first summer as a teenager! This song always reminds me of summertime in the great City of Chicago!
chicago was home to alot of great 70s bands
When this song came out...I loved it from the get go...so pretty this song.... thank u for the extended version...and the memories...summer of 1971...best music ever ❤
I could not agree more! ☮ and have a groovy day!
This is beautiful, one of my favorite songs ever. Reminds me of carefree summers, playing baseball, listening to my am/fm transistor, camping out in my backyard, lying on our backs, gazing at the stars, talking through the night and early morning.
Songs like this bring back a flood of bittersweet memories - a time -a place - a special person you were with. I hear songs from the 60's 70's and so on and they make me feel I have lived a lifetime in each song. A thousand song, a thousand lifetimes.
No matter how many times I listen to Rings, it always sounds great!
Song brings tears to my eyes
The visuals are just as marvelously beautiful as the first viewing.
@@carlrosendorf5210 amen brother. song from my 1st love in 1976
Love this song, brings back good memories.
Even today, this song gives me goose bumps!! Our "Host" does far beyond excellent work on extending beautiful songs. Too bad the record companies are too stupid to realize this!! They should hire him. They could make a fortune with his talent. In any case, I always look ahead to more of his great work!!
Steven Creer Thanks again, Steven!!
Never gets old. Love this tune forever.
Life was so simple back then. God what a mess we've become.
Maybe. We have new(er) problems as well as old ones that have not yet been solved, but I can well appreciate feeling as you do. ☮ and have a groovy day!
On this day in 1971 {June 12th} "Rings" by Cymarron entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #17 and spent 12 weeks in the Top 100...
They had "James Taylor on the stereo"
When Lobo covered it in 1974 {reached #43} he had "The Allman Brothers on the stereo"...
Also in 1974 Reuben Howell recorded it {peaked at #86} he decided to have "Jim Croce on the stereo"...
And Leo Kottke has "Mel Blanc on the radio" {never charted but it is on You Tube}...
I love this extended version. I love this song and I always thought it was not long enough. This really helps!!!!!!
Still loving this song
You, along with everyone posting here. :D
For some reason, this beauty of a song showed up in my dreams last night. Got up to find it and play it again. So beautiful!
I just died and went to heaven!! Thank you ever sooooooo much!!!!
Such a cool song.....................Love this extended version just kinda goes with the flow............
Thanks....glad you like it!
I was beginning high school in 1971 when this song came out. 52 years later at the age of 67 I still enjoy listening to this song! It brings back great memories of good times! I absolutely love the extended version created of this song! Wonderfully done!
this song takes you back to that first love.
My God John, I played this on the radio in Franklin, Indiana in the early 1970's. I didn't think anyone else had ever heard of it. Thank you.
I first heard this on a.m. radio as a 10 or 11 eleven year-old in Omaha, NE and it has been a favorite song ever since.
Nothing better than a song that hugs you all over.
Paul....yes....one of my favorites! Thanks for posting!!
This one hit wonder proves just that...you only need one hit to be remembered forever..
So true!
Have to agree. This is amazing, both sound and visual. Well done!
Don't take it down I listen to it almost every day.
Totally awesome... beautiful instrumentation, terrific vocals - wow !!
😁 😁
'71, what a year for music: the Dead did Skulls and Roses (including Mama Tried), the Airplane released Bark (including Third Week in the Chelsea), and Cymarron cuts Rings !!
😁 😁 😁 😁
I was five in '71, and am still blown away.....
An untoppable tribute to the four beautiful Gas Giants right here in our own Solar System :
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune...all different colors due to being comprised of different gasses at different temperatures...
Mankind is short-sighted beyond description; we should be out there exploring and learning - right in our own front yard, not squabbling amongst ourselves on our tiny insignificant planet...
Did God really create the gas giants along with everything else ?? If so, then He really does deserve all the credit, working with an IQ of about a billion !!!!
Bless All Of Creation
😁 😁 😁 😁
I know the sentiment of this song. Above all the beautiful celestial rings, the one ring around my wife's finger stands as the most beautiful, and most important.
You got it, Conner!!
Well said, Conner. Keep the love fresh and marriage strong.
@8ntnomo ....so glad you like it...thanks for requesting it!
Hey,mosogotam. You did a GREAT job on a song I have loved since it came out brand new...If The Cymarron guys heard it,they would not complain. I was 18 in 1971.OK,OK, do the math. I am 60 now. Very respectful of the original.
Chuck....thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Thank you for taking the time to do the wonderful extended version! I always thought this gorgeous sweet song went too fast. It needed stretching out.
Never tire of this song
Tight harmony at its best
Paul, You are not the only one who heard of this song. I always loved and remember it too from the early 70's. It got heavy rotation where I was listening to it as a 13 year old teenage at a little radio station out of Jamestown N.Y.
This is such a great song. Childhoodmemories
BTW: mosogtam, I'm 8ntnomo. Retired RR Conductor after 40 years of service. Music lover all of the way!! Thank you for everything!!
Steven Creer Steven...thank you so much!! Sorry that it's only taken me a year to respond to your very kind comment!
Wow! What a masterful job at "re-mastering!" LOL Great song, great video...just great...period!
Scott Harbison Scott...thanks so much....sorry my response was so long in the posting.
thist song was on in the spring and summer of 1971 when my brother phillip was living with me in my apartment. Philip I now deseased ,and I could give anything to go back to that time of my life.
I am so sorry for your loss, but glad that your brother lives on with you in memory. With deepest sympathy and sincere condolences.
I have always liked how Cymarron is a sound-alike with the Hindi/Punjabi word "simran" meaning spiritual or sacred remembrance. Particularly with this video, it seems fitting.
Namaste and Om Shanti. Peace and Love. Thank you again, mosogotam for this.
Just a beautiful song...heard the extended version for the first time this evening. I usually don't care for anyone messing with an original but in this is an exception. As Richard says below, "it captures the flow." Well done.
Paul...thanks...I really appreciate that!
I heard this fir first time yesterday on Sirius/XM I love it!
Thanks for the extended version! This is how it was played on radio stations back in the 70's. The music continues at the end without the lyrics for .27 seconds. (3:40 to 4:10). DJ's in Los Angeles (KRLA, KHJ) loved the extra seconds so they could ad lib. The record version was too short at the end. GREAT JOB! :)
Cool! Thanks for the extra info! ☮
Such a simple but unforgettable tune. There have been others who covered this tune but this first one was by far the best. Too bad Cymarron didn't get more recognition. Great piece of writing by Alex Harvey and Eddie Reeves. This extended version gives us more to enjoy. Wonderful!
I'm 65 and yes we had great music
Wow! Are those photographs awe-inspiring! I thought planet Earth was the "blue planet" ("The Blue Marble") but when I see planet Neptune! now that is blue! Thank you for a truly cosmic visual treat!
Castleclear1 castle...thanks so very much!
@@mosogotam You are most welcome but I am merely stating self-evident truth (from my perspective, anyway.)
Nice, I listen over and over
What a great song. Makes you want to go back to 1971. What a time it was.
Thank you very much!
Glad you got this out here again!
beautiful song and great mix. New Orleans?Mandeville, La 71 by the bayou
Beautiful song! Thank you for posting this.
Love it!!!!
Ohoooo hand in hand.
What a wonderful mix. Well done.
Thomas...thanks so much!
Great job on this extended mix. Dig that sweet long fade ending...
Terrence Miller Terrence...thanks so much!!!
Awsome video to go with an awesome song
This is awesome.
It adds a unique touch to a beautiful song
It does indeed! :D
beautiful
yea, it really to be exteneded and you did it. Nice, if i may say so...
1971 memories
You did an awesome job with the video and with a great song.
Kirbygene....thank you....you make me very happy that I stretched it....
Wow that was great, awesome job, Thank you.
Can hardly wait 😊
Beautiful!
this is awesome good job
Sounds a little speeded up too…very nice with the extended strings and vibes and all…
Fantastic, as usual. You certainly have a gift extending these songs. If you're hunting for a next project, could I request the lovely and too short 'Crazy Love' by Poco? Thanks. ;)
moso has the golden touch. i'd like to hear him improve poco's classic too. :)
Lobo did a fine cover of this song also, but this versi
on is the best!!!!!!!
Awesome video to go with an awesome song
Cool...
Nicely done
The album cover at the beginning is.
We hat a great song
Added it to my play list and downloading it.
@rodobondo ....thank you!!!
This song is so beautiful, always believed it was Lobo who recorded it first. Lovely sound ...Instant subscriber to your awesome channel....Greetings all the way from INDIA ....
Went to school with Rick Yancey nice in Memphis Tn.
I’m his son. He passed away September 10, 2021.
I wonder if the master tapes still exists
mosogotam You did a good job the only thing is you should double the time and not add extra sounds.for example Eurythmics - Love Is a Stranger. The record label did a awfull version. You would here 'love is love is love is love is loves is and other sounds. On You Tube I found the song 9 min longer without extra sounds. Just like the record and longer. I also love Rings by Lobo.
tremendous aberration
Good interpretation! Is that a picture of the honest to be good boys of Cymarron nowadays? Wow!
No that is not a picture of Cymarron at all. My dad was in the band Cymarron.
Cymarron you know what-such a pleasant song -you guys should of hooked up with spanky and our gang they did lazy days --of course the extended version--andThat would of been a beautiful song lmao lol
The picture at the end of the video is not Cymarron. Person who posted this was not in Cymarron.
The picture at the end of this video is not Cymarron! My dad was in Cymarron.
me too
👍
Cymarron was my dads band and the pic at the end of the video is not Cymarron.
Is your dad still with us? If so, tell him thank you for his part in creating this little gem. Putting joy out into the world is surely a noble thing and something to be proud of.
I did tell him and he was very grateful. He passed away September 10, 2021. He was also in the country band the Remington‘s from the early 90s. He also sang on a couple of Willie Nelson albums Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash album and had songs recorded by Conway Twitty and Lorrie Morgan and was just an all around wonderful person!
I don't know if you got my messages but, I was wondering if you could find Mirrors of your Mind by The Definitive Rock Chorale from 1967 and also Hippie Lady by the Yummies from 1970. I would like to hear them extended. Thank you.

My phone is ringing I had better go answer it lol. ❤
Ik ben nog steeds geen lid van de NCRV.
Not bad!
Doesn't sound like same take, or the single, or even the same band, i.e.: differ band, cover as well as "extended." C'mon , spill, man!
Used to dance with my three year old son to this song, this 45rpm single. Heard it over and over and over. This does not sound like that. Sorry....
I think Lobo also did a version of the song.
@@peterklutinoty244 Here's the version by Lobo for comparison: ruclips.net/video/DQZmTyoJ5RY/видео.html
@@mosogotam both versions are nice, but I know which one I prefer. Oddly (or not), if I hear a later cover I like first, it's usually which version I heard first that I prefer; e.g. "Amanda" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_(Don_Williams_song)
Ring A Ding
GREAT STUFF
