Because tons of folks are still visiting this and other mosogotam tracks, you should know that the owner of this channel, whose real name is John Perrone, sadly passed away from COVID-19 on April 5th, 2020 - tragically, he was one of the very early victims of the virus. John was an absolute creative genius for this and all the other wonderful tracks he created. While it is a tragedy that we won't get any new productions from him, he still managed to leave us with a goldmine of material to enjoy for years to come - what a gift! John, may you rest in peace.
I'm so sorry to read this gentleman has left us. RIHP Mr. Perrone. Thank you for this wonderful song and channel. Will look out for the other songs. Thanks for the information.
These are vocals of teenagers!!! I grew up listening to this as a little girl and I thought these were like forty-something women singing because they sang with so much emotion, maturity and season. Then I look back and realize that the caliber of talent out there back then was just on another level compared to what we have out there today. Anyway, I never get tired of this song. It's a forever favorite!
Thank u...I am AMAZED at how little ppl know or speak about High Inergy. They were fantastic & recorded 8 albums for Gordy/Motown. Discovered by Gwen Gordy in 1976 Vernessa & Barbara Mitchell(lead singers), Linda Howard(Soul Train) & Michelle Rumph were "allegedly" slated to be The new Supremes' all they down to being named after one of the Supremes last albums..We know how that went. They had one hit & were down to a trio by their 3rd album. Vernessa left but had several gospel house hits as a solo artist years later. Motown treated them poorly..so many near hits. With the exception of the 1st album (& a limited edition anthology) none of their material ever made it to CD or digital.
In 1978 I was about 21 years old when I first viewed these "LOVELY" ladies sing this. Actually I had viewed them on "SOUL TRAIN", and I was smitten with the beauty and performances from "HIGH ENERGY". Looking back at those days, I can honestly say how thrilled I was to see the black females perform live or on T.V. and to listened to them on the radio (102.7) WBMX--- Chicago. Great times !!!
Me too! I loved our era so grateful to have been a part of love and not hate! ❤️ I’m very blessed to have 2 Beautiful Biracial daughters who are my life!
Thank you, Victoria, I appreciate your kind words and wisdom. Secondly, it is great to know that true beauty and kindness, emanates from the heart and soul created from God. I am anticipating a dramatic change in this country with the new leadership in Washington D.C. The absolute truth is, the forces of good, have successfully triumph over the forces of consummate evil. The beauty in all of this is, this is the time of the woman. All types of women have spoken, who voted for change in the direction of our country. Lastly, all of us are of the Earth, from the same creator who made all of us in different shades and colors. He also, has given all of us the choice to choose and the wisdom (Bible) to study and understand the nature of love and kindness. Victoria, have a great day !!!
I was a 17 year old in 1977 when this record hit. Loved it so much that I wore the grooves out on my 45 lol Bought the album too but unfortunately this was their only hit. Thanks for this awesome remix😊😊😊👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I remember hearing this song on the radio on KSOL in the Bay area as a kid. This song brings back memories when my mom use to drop me off to see my grandfather to be babysitted.Still gived me that feeling I'm going to visit my grandfather, even though he died on August 1984 and I'm listening to this song on Oct.2021 at age 52.
This record brings me back to my high school days with fun remember, just like it was yesterday, that resurrection with high school dances on Friday or Saturday night. Thank you ladies.
Use to live down the street from them,in the meadows went to school with the younger sister Jackie Howard, just talk to her today...R.I.P🙏linda H.🙏DENA LOVE! ❤️
I use to think Sister Sledge or The Pointer Sisters song this song.Crazy! I have the memories of that crystal bowl with those square mints my grandfather had on the dinning table as a kid in the Bay area.now I'm 52 listening to this on Oct 12th 2021.
I can't believe I just started singing this song out of nowhere at 4:14am on my way to bed. Haven't heard this song in decades. Yes decades! I was 15 in 1977 and I used to sing this song to death. I played their album over and over. My God, can't believe I still know most of the lyrics. Thanks for posting this.
I loved this Group and this song!❤️I was a new nurse getting ready to join the Army Nurse Corps! The Best time in my life before I gave birth to my beautiful black queens!
Simple and beautiful. How this pure vocal beauty we grew up with got replaced with the cotton candy voice female singers of today who only exist because of their so-called good looks is astounding. I don't even think about listening to today's music, with no real instruments, no real singers, no real composers, etc......
Pam Sawyer is a great songwriter . . . also co-wrote If I Were Woman . . . If I Ever Lose This Heaven . . . Love Hangover . . . My Mistake . . . Love Child.
Aww man this is awesome. You've done it again.Great engineering on the most underrated classic.I would still request you do an extended version/mix of the Isley Brothers Winner Takes All.
Fuck you you moron. Nothing is yours. You're a bitch that takes classic songs and adds the same breaks and instrumentals over and over and over and over and over...dumbshit. Yours? Are you the writer? The artist? Pretending to be good at editing? You're a pathetic failure that STEALS MOTOWN songs and retreads them. You're a no-talent flop and I can't stand you.
@@ronrossmore211 fool of all fools, jerk of all jerks. Just a sad, sad loser. You are the worst of the worst, spreading negativity and hatred. Just go away and crawl back under your stone you loathsome individual.
These pretty Ladies had a pretty nice run at Motown during the 70's unto the 80's. Powerful voices. Kind of reminds me of the Pointer Sisters a little bit. Interesting because Motown had Bonnie for a little while. Really dig this one Mr. J. Thanks so much !
High Inergy sounded fine on Gordy Records by taking on that label where some of the former Motown groups like The Temptations and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas left off.
this was a huge hit for them in 1977, i was in the 10th grade, life was good. i belive the one girl in the group passed away some years ago, i think her name was [ barbara] . wonder where they are 2024

Once upon a time, recording artists had to know how to actually sing. They were expected to have talent. HA! Today, that's one heck of an alien concept! So many of today's "superstars" have Grammy Awards and other honors for days and couldn't carry a musical note from their sofa to their front door!
THIS JAM IS STILL A TEN OUT OF TEN JAM

Hermoso temon que me lleva a finales del año 77 y principios del 78 época gloriosa de la musica adulto contemporánea una joya musical a todo dar
Brings back so many wonderful memories. It's such a smooth and warm song, which also penetrates the soul.
