Please review Trials of Apollo!
Wow only 3 replies
It would be funny and cool if they add these names as easter eggs in the new Harry Potter tv show reboot
I love how there are enough Pottermore articles to create endless spin-offs but WB and JK are just like, “Nah let’s just do the whole thing over again.”
Well they tried Fantastic Beasts and it failed because JKR can’t write for the screen but she may be too arrogant to let others fill her place
@@maxonite we'll see
I think it makes sense to do a faithful book adaptation before spinning off into other shows.
@@radicalz2501 Yes, it does. After all, let's be honest here, how many people would like to sit and read hundreds of pages today?.
I think it would be more appropriate to recreate a s story with one vision of everything and designs, so it would not look out of place (Like just watch how Hogwarts changed throughout the the og films, you definitely feel a disconnect with that). Plus, they could add few things that would hint of things that were never mentioned in the books, but later on known in the Pottermore articles, which would make a picture much more whole.
But again, this is 50/50, so HBO series can be even less detailed than films are.
Do we know if Anthony Goldstein is related to Tina & Queenie?
yes he is
Please do a Tier Ranking of the action scenes in the 8 Harry Potter movies.
This man is so good no one is better than him at RUclips videos
All your videos define a true potter head.
I've been working on JUST the background story, characters and cities of my fantasy novel for half a decade now, so hearing that it took Rowling ten years for all that kind of makes me hopeful that my story will one day be read and enjoyed even by a few hundred people. That would be my dream.
can't wait! in 5 years when you are done drop the name --->
Wow, literally same! Although I think I have been thinking about my fantasy worlds since I was a child hahaha Even if only my family and some friends read my books, that would be my dream too!
Let us know when you've finished!
God I’ve been doing the same thing since I’m writing a sci fi fantasy world with three dimensions that entwined each other and there is a group of people who possessed psychic abilities, they are monotheistic people and are a matriarchal society (it means that it’s ruled by women).
When you finish please let us know!
I hope some day someone will compile Rowling's notes into a book. I'm dying to see how she actually worked on the series.
For sure her publisher will do this someday in the future (or after she dies) 🤑
They tried that with the dune series but it wasnt as good. Yet Brandon Sanderson did a good finish off the wheel of time. If Rowling wont do it herself I think he could
I’ve read so much HP fan fiction that I knew all of the character names that weren’t in the actual HP books and actually forgot they weren’t used in the books. 😂
Yeah, i swear i read somewhere about Tracey exist in the book, turn out she's not...
so that’s where i’ve heard some of these names thinking “i though they were mentioned?”
Yeah same here. I thought for sure Tracey was in the books and Daphne, Nott and Zabini used more than they were. Fanfiction have really made those four bigger than they were in canon
Same i recognised several to be honest
I did some diggin, Goldstein is a distant relative to Tina and Queenie, but he is also a distant relative to Luna Lovegood, who went on to marry someone from the scamander family.
Rolph Scammander, specifically.
So that makes:
8 Gryffindors
9 Slytherins
11 Ravenclaws
7 Hufflepuffs
That leaves 5 of them unsorted.
Just wanted to do this because the distribution, house wise, of these 40 was a question I always had.
Kind of interesting to see Ravenclaw is the one with the highest number of students, and Hufflepuff the lowest. But for all we know, the remaining five could be Hufflepuffs, as Helga Hufflepuff wanted "the rest" i.e. the ones that weren't favourable to the other 3 founders
thank you for keeping in mind that Patma isn't in Gryffindor as portraied in the movie ❤
Yes but Oliver woods, seems that jk later changed him to not to be in Harry’s year, so there’s actually 39, but I headcanon that “Moon” girl to be another character, sorted into Ravenclaw.
Also, luna isn’t in Harry’s year that I remember. And I don’t know if that quirrel guy was sorted as one of them… so there’s even less!
@@Yo-_.She's one year behind, in the same year as Ginny.
And fun fact: Charlie and Tonks (books 5-7) had both graduated the summer right before Harry and Ron started!
@@wyattstevens8574 omg Tonks is that young?, like I knew she was young but Charlie’s age?
I am a mother of five and I have written three books... and am knee deep in another...and I can assure you, naming the characters is just as hard as naming your own child. It's personal and it's forever. Naming forty characters would have sent me over the edge!!!😬😆💖
Major Facts because you want the names to be meaningful to character and relate to the story as a Foreshadowing tactic.
It's sad what fanfic does to your brain- I am shocked beyond words that Daphne and Tracy don't play a bigger role in the books because they're all over fanfic 😂
We can all agree Hermione's original last name surely is interesting…………………
what does it mean?
Yea
Puckle
Is a mischievous or evil spirit... well I can see why jk rowling changed her name. Puckle definitely is the opposite of Hermione. Movieflame do you agree with that or do you have a second opinion?
Originally, Hermione’s middle name was to be Jane, but Rowling decided later that Hermione should not share the same middle name as Umbridge, so it became Jean.
I only know that name from James Puckle the inventor of the Puckle gun.
I’m grateful how patient she was, remembering and choosing name is really difficult. Her 10 years paid off, a masterpiece was created.
Fun fact: in the Dutch translation of the first book during the sorting ceremony it said Bella Zabini, because the translator didn't know Blaise was a male character since apparently the name Blaise can be used for both girls and boys. The sixth book revealed Blaise to be male, so for the translation of that book the name changed to Benno, a boys name.
Apparently it was a common fanfiction "mistake" as well.
For the German version they didn't change the name for the frist book but gave Zabini a female pronoun.
I always admire how much effort great writers put into their work and J.K. Rowling is no exception.
But you'd think with this much effort J.K. Rowling could give us fans some new Wizarding World stories that are better than the Cursed Child and the second and third Fantastic Beasts films.
I'm still hoping for TV shows about the Hogwarts Founders, Lord Voldemort's origins, the Marauders, Harry's career as an Auror, and the other magical schools.
Okay, so J.K wasn't really responsible for the Cursed Child being HORRIBLE. Jack Throne and John Tiffany are just lazy writers. As for the fantastic beasts movies, for the first J.K had someone help her turn it from book to movie. If the fantastic beasts 2 and 3 were books they'd work really well.
The screenplays for Fantastic Beasts are almost novels in description of all stuff.
That wasn't Mrs. Morris' hair. I thought for sure it was Millicent's own cat's hair.
Υοu're right. I'm re-reading CoS and it was her own cat's hair indeed.
That's what I thought. I thought It was Millicent's own cat's hair too.
Also, Anthony became prefect, not Terry.
After the characterscharacter’s name, there are some symbols, the first column might be gender, the third one is obviously their house. But I’m not so sure about the second one. My theory is that they are blood status.
To backup my theory, some pure blood characters have star with circle around, some half blood characters only have the star, and some characters that born from Non-magical family have the letter N. My theory can also be wrong since some does not work by the rule but characters can also be changed by JKR in the writing process so who know.
@@lightofwisdom17 I think you are right with your theory. Hermonie looks like a square with an N, Justin Finch-Fletchley also as a square with an N. And all the Slytherin I see have a circle with a star. Of course some characters changed, but I think your spot on with your theory.
I hope the upcoming tv show will have all of these characters in the background. They might add them some lines, storylines maybe, or even nothing, but it would just be amazing to have the full cast for all 7 seasons
I wonder if Zacharias Smith came from Sally/Georgina but seems that the latter was supposed to be Gryffindor while Zacharias ofc was a Hufflepuff and Smith is pretty common surname so hard to say. Thanks for the video.
I guess since Draco is Latin for Dragon, I presume Spinks was meant to represent Sphinx.
I wanna say thanks for the hardwork that you do to entertain us thanks I really love your videos♥️
This was a really interesting Deep Dive into the original 40.
I'm working on some novels myself. I've already done alot on the worldbuilding, the background of my main character, and several side character backgrounds that I want to Implement as well.
Interestingly enough, there was actually a Hufflepuff called Kevin in the books (specifically, Goblet of Fire). His name, however, was Kevin Whitby not Kevin Entwhistle
FunFact: (that probably is only funny to me) in the german translation Blaise Zabini was refered to as a she in the sorting ceremony.
The Halfblood Prince: Every Hidden Detail/Easter Egg
release date??
I love JK Rowling! She has such a brilliant brain and she has such power, to be able to balance all that and create that amazing world! I am and always will be her biggest fan!! Much love to you JK Rowling and thank you for HP! 💜💜🪄🧙♀️🦅
Wait, I thought Oliver Wood is older that Harry. Wasn’t he like in the 5th year when Harry entered Hogwarts?
Maybe that Oliver River is different person
Btw, great video!
I always wondered how many students got invited/ entered Hogwarts each year.
i love the takes made by movie flame, its like i started like a month ago but have almost binge watched the entire channel, i love the insights he presents. biggggg fannn!!!!!!
*disclaimer*
In the sorting ceremony harry would be in his first year, meaning luna didnt start hogwarts yet, so the last name "Moon" couldnt have benn her.
yes, but he said that she didn't know she was going to be a year younger.
There were stars next to a lot of the original 40, as you can clearly see at 2:30. As far as I know, the stars didn't represent the religion of the characters but their blood purity. I don't know if Anthony Goldstein was always meant to be Jewish, but the star isn't any proof.
What I love about Luna's name is that she's still Moon because Luna is Moon in spanish ❤ it may not be her last name but it got her a really cool and cute name ✨🌙
my middle name is luna! I was actually named after her bc my dad's a really big harry potter fan!
Crazy to me how many fan fictions there are out there where Harry is really good friends with or even ends up dating some of the people on the never appeared at all list lmao.
I saw the documentary with the original notebook of the characters. I was planning to go back, pause the video and investigate the names, but you did it for me and much better. Thank you!
Everyone's first till they check the comments
😂😂😂😂
I think Quirrell has the potential to have an interesting story of them struggling to get by with the knowledge of their father being tide to Lord Voldemort.
My theories,.is Anthony Goldstein a part of Tina Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts's family.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of these unused character names show up in the HP television show.
These scribblings are common for most writers. We tend to keep notes and many of what we originally plan or think about the novel ends up not making sense as the piece comes together as a whole and develops. Tolkein originally had Strider be an experienced hobbit who knew the woods well, then as he wrote he kept his essential character the same but changed his background to be Aragorn, the true king in rags, without a throne. It changes the entire tone of the story. One of the most fun and interesting things about being a writer is no matter how much you plan, you always seem to discover things you never expected while you are writing, if you allow yourself to. And having the instincts and trust in the story to allow it to grow and develop into something stronger is important.
Some interesting coidences:
Queenie Goldstein and Tina Goldstein, and then we have an Anthony Goldstein
Hepzibah (idk how to spell her name, the one Who Tom Riddle manipulated to get Slytherin's locket and Hufflepuff's cup) Smith, and Zacharias Smith (The annoying hufflepuff), and then we have a Sally Smith
Since they are technically Cannon, are they related? (I think the Smith thing is more likely tho)
J.K confirmed on a tweet that Anthony Goldstein is a distant relative of Tina and Queenie.
As for the Smith characters, there’s no confirmation of they being related, but I personally think that it’s very likely that they are, given the fact that the Wizarding population is way smaller than the Muggle population, so if two or more wizards share the same surname, it’s almost certain that they are related, especially if they are geographically close.
@@vitorbispo9267 Thank you for the Goldstein info, since I dont have Twitter, I wouldn't know, and Yeah I 100% agree
From student to teacher I see… quite interesting. Adding an “l” as well…
I wish we could have a Neville & Hannah spin off. I would love to know how they became a couple and how Neville became a Hogwarts professor and Hannah the owner of The Leaky Cauldron
The best Potter RUclipsr not up for debate with me
luna is the Spanish word for moon.
Bro how many funny last names names did Rowling think of - Puckle for Hermione, Spungeon for Draco and Puff and Sidebottom for Neville😅
Trust me on this dude, you only liked the changed (current) names better than their original names because for us as readers (and watchers) the new names ARE the real names....we are used to the changed names.... thats why the orignal names sound wierd...its psychology at play. If the orignal names were the USED names, we would think that "longbottom" is weird!
If JK were smart she would let some authors take a stab at the Potter-verse like it's done for the Star Wars books. Hell, I'm not sure if anyone here has ever heard or Norman G. Lipperts but he's a fan who made an entire work of fan fiction (like 5 or 6 books) of James Potter. The man had a whole site dedicated to the Potter-verse called Elder Crossing I think. James Potter & The Hall Of Elders Crossing was a fantastic work of art even if it was fanfiction. She could have sanctioned that to be cannon to the rest of her work buy she chose not to. It sucks because the expansion of the Potter-verse could be epic with her blessing. But maybe she's got some kinda Tolkien-esque thing going on that we don't know about and she's bidding her time before unleashing it on us.
Please for the love of god stop using ai its not like there aren't plenty of picture of harry just use them.
40 characters that never made it to the pages or screen, unless they were changed. Well u can put *all* of ur ideas in one shot, unless if ur creative enough to make it work. That's just how it is with novelist. Can we have a vid on talking about original character, such as Nigel Wolpert who's a combination of Colin and Dennis Creevey, and Bem (3rd film only, referred to as Boy 1. He's a Nigerian Gryffindor)?
Patel and Patil actually have the same meaning from 2 different areas if India and I didn’t realise that until looking it up after watching this. A very insightful video that lead to some very interesting reading😅
Man!!! it's really hard to believe nott, zabini, tracey, daphane are not used specially when daphane is literally fanfic queen alongside hermoine and luna
And names like megan Jones, isobel, sue li never appeared in original books
Your channel is so underrated! I've been watching you since I was 13-and I'm 16 now
As Harry walked down the halls with his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Puckle, around the corner swing his greatest enemy
SPUNGEN MALFOY.
Apparently there were 10 Gryffindors in Harry’s year, I’d love to know who the other 2 unnamed girls Hermione lived with for 6 years but never mentioned once
Thanks for doing it. I didn't even know that the Original forty existed before you made this Video.
None of us did.
This video has opened so many new perspectives! There is a play, Puffs, which is based on Harry Potter but not affiliated. And the main trio of characters (all hufflepuffs) are named Wayne Hopkins, Megan Jones, and Oliver Rivers. And there’s another character named Sally Perks. I truly wonder if this is somehow where their inspiration is from
Yes! I was in a production of that and I played Oliver. It's definitely worth a watch if you can find the recording. I'm so glad somebody else knows about that
I played Snape! [and some others]. I doubt the computerised version of the list wasn't available back when the play was written, which means Matt & his wife must have looked at that blurry footage of Rowling's notebook and named their three main characters after that!
RRRRGgghHH Lisa Turpin did make it into the books
Morgan? I have an interesting question that I’d love to hear your opinion on someday:
Is Godric Gryffindor’s sword deadly to humans? I know that sounds silly and self-explanatory, it’s like asking if water is wet or does fire burn lol But since we know the famous goblin-made silver sword can destroy resilient magical artifacts like Horcruxes due to the basilisk venom it was imbued with, could getting a simple cut in combat or accidentally poking the tip or slicing a finger on the blade to admire how sharp it is kill a human in a minute like normal basilisk venom would?
I always did wonder what would happen if someone did accidentally get a small cut from the blade, if they would just get killed by the venon
its so cool to know the history of harry potter characters from there creation to finished result
Amazing video as usual! ❤❤ Can you do a ranking of the most tragic characters in Harry Potter next?
Can you do the life of Dumbledore, the life of Sirius Black, and the life of Peter Pettigrew?
He kinda did a video of Dumbledore in his Dumbledore and Grindelwald relationship video
I love your vidoes thank so much for hard work you are amazing
Sue Li would have been a much better name for Cho Chang than the one we got.
Maybe that's who Sue was eventually turned into!
yo i got a question, for the characters that only appear briefly in the movies, how do you guys know their names? for example, we don't necessarily know what ernie macmillan looks like as the books never visually describe him, but how did you guys know he's shown in the movies as the hufflepuff at 8:54 ?
I'm writing a comment because you asked me to. I'm a 72 year old woman from rural central NY. When the first Harry Potter books were written I dismissed them as children's books. Then I saw the first 2 movies and liked them but I knew I'd never read the books because of the amount of details in the books. But of course I realized eventually that all that detail is very important to understanding the story. The more I watched the more questions I had. I really became a fan after experiencing Harry Potter at Universal. That's where you come in! I can't tell you how much your videos have helped me to connect all those complicated dots. I thought you were a friendly young man with knowledge and passion I admire. I've watched so much I think of you as a friend. Thank you for helping me.😊
Hey if you like Harry Potter you should watch Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
I think it was interesting to hear about all the name changes plus some of the students that were never mentioned in the books. Great video.
Am I the only one that wishes that they did more with Blaise?
He’s got a VERY interesting backstory and seems like a really badass dude
I think it would be cool if you put harry potter characters into districts of panem from the hunger games and them put hunger games characters into hogwarts houses like a crossover
2:22 I never knew so many Jewish kids went to Hogwarts
bless the wizarding world; but fuck terfs including joanne; great video tho, v succinct
Please make a video ranking Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts characters good to evil
Tracey Davis was not used? Her name sounds so familiar 🤔
Did MovieFlame just tease a Back to the Future video? 👀
I’m dying to know who the other two girl Gryffindors are in Harry’s year lol
I hate how people ship hermione and freaking snape as a couple like omg stop that’s inappropriate
I think you do a video on 70 Harry Potter characters patroness
Great video Morgan 😁😁😁 I understand where j.k is coming from and i don't really understand it as I was born with learning difficulties
hello! today i made a harry potter corner on my shelf and i put your channel name as an honorable mention for teaching me so much! thanks!
Love the metal posters but can't buy because of the Purchasing Power Parity.. It's costing me 2800 in rupees

Thalia- The Sun Chariot
Nico- Cupid
Bianca- Kronos
Zoe- Atlas
The Hunters of Artemis- Orion

The Gods- Typhon
Jason- Losing his memory
Leo- Hera (Tia Callida)
Piper- Jason & Leo dead
Frank- Thanatos
Hazel- Gaea

12:04 While it was of course an accident, saying the wrong pronoun when referring to Rowling is laughably ironic 😂
I dont think she cares about being "misgendered" because she is and always will be a woman. Unlike some others...
Sue Li could have been what became Cho Chang...
"Sue Li" may have been her initial name!
Also Luna is Spanish for moon
i have a theory. What if Queenie Goldstein and Anthony Goldstein are related??
Theory proven- she's said yes!
Wow it’s fascinating it’s completely surprising that she did not put these characters in the books but that will be a great idea If she adds characters in the Harry Potter TV series in maths streaming platform why not I don’t want to see more about Dean Thomas and also about these two twins The Patel sisters the two twins wow I would like to see more about Dean Thomas and the Patel sisters
The characters that she changed their names she could use them with these other characters that she changed the names why not do a double characters in the Harry Potter reboot TV series
I will tell J. K. Rowling Joanne Rowling she needs to add these 11 characters that made it in the big screen including the 30 characters that did not made itIn the books and in the big screen I think she should use them for the Harry Potter reboot TV series why not to add new characters in the TV so it will be great if she use them the 13 characters that never made it in the books in the 11 characters that made it but The books but she change the names so she could add these names and mix them all together this will be one of the greatest stories for Harry Potter reboot TV show
thanks for the hard work bringing us content that we love Morgan 💯 you the goat 🐐
Jk should write fantastic beasts also like originals then they can adapted, there is so much there
Thank you for the awesome video Morgan!
The Caretaker's name is Moon in Hogwarts legacy, lol!
Is it possible for you to get involved with the Harry Potter TV series?😅 Considering you have read the books, analysed the movies many times and you went through Film School, The TV series could use your skills and knowledge about HP😅
Morgan should do a reaction video to 10 harry potter couples that should have ended up together and 5 couples that should never have been together. There r some HOT takes!
I think he would be good at rection vids and deffinrtley a subject he should focus on more
Anyone know what house movie flame is? Idk if he’s said it in any of his videos, I definitely see him being in ravenclaw
Names like Wayne Hopkins and Megan Jones were actually used in the Spoof Harry Potter play called Puffs! So in a way these characters were brought to life
