    Splunk is an enormous presence in the tech industry, so is Siemens, Siemens has been sponsoring cars for decades at this point.

    You forgot the Tobacco companies which are technically banned from sponsoring the sport, but use subsidiary companies as a loophole. Ferrari and Mission Winnow (Philip Morris) being a famous example. But still McLaren is sponsored by Vuse which is part of British American Tobacco.
    Alcohol companies do a similar thing by having an alcohol free version of their product being promoted. Heineken being the big one here.

      Ferrari is painted in Marlboro red, official Ferrari red is much darker. I think it was last year or the year before when they painted the rear of the car Ferrai red ,it had to do with an anniversary iirc

    I've noticed Max Verstappen has a new helmet sponsor this year, something called "EA Sports".
    They sound extremely sketchy man I don't know.

      I think he paid extra for the DLC engine upgrade. Also paid extea for the E.A speed boost upgrade as well. Also paid for the racing line. In his helmet he has a hud where he can see a racing line, along real time speed updates of every driver in front of him.

    I’m an engineer at Haas CNC. When CNBC broadcasted their story a few weeks ago accusing of us selling machines to the Russians, it seemed totally out of left field. The logistics of building and selling expensive industrial equipment and delivering it to international customers is quite complex, and we certainly can’t control every step completely. The statement that Haas released in response explains it pretty well.
    It honestly seems to me like some journalists did some digging and found something they could misconstrue into a sensational story, try to make a name for themselves.
    But then again, considering Gene Haas’ criminal history, where exactly does the truth lie? I don’t know man, I just work here.

      From what I saw the machines were purchased from Abamet, a distributor for Belarus and Russia. I really don't think Haas would take such a huge risk for 2.8 million dollars, that's nothing when they did 1.3 billion in sales last year.

    MSC is the official cruise partner of F1, kind of like how DHL is the official shipping company. Also, Siemens make a plethora of medical equipment as well. Ever had an MRI?

      Cause multiple huge American News Outlets did fluff interviews with Sam Bankman-Fried post FTX Collapse but prior to his arrest (there was quite the delay due to him residing in the Bahamas)

      Their is also the fact that the FTX collapse has a lot of data points to it and, News outlets were overwhelmed by it when the Exchange went belly up in one of the oldest ways to collapse a bank: A bank run.
      I will admit that calling FTX a bank is a little far fetched but it did attempt to storage value, so bank it is because I have no other name for that.

    As a person who purchases CNC machines for work here in the US I can confirm that it can take 6-7 months to get a machine. I believe Haas, specially in this market. We pay a down payment and at that moment we enter a contract with machine supplier for them to deliver the equipment. Gonna have to say not sketchy to that...

    I think kick deserves a mention. A twitch clone purely created to advertise gambling via shady sponsorship deals. They were doing this on twitch previously but gambling sponsorships got banned so they went and made their own platform to advertise it. The sponsorships are shady since the streamers are given accounts with inflated odds and large amounts of cash already in them.

    Siemens (Huge and Old German Company) being on the Board together with FTX etc. is hilarious considering how reputable, old and important Siemens is to this Day, not only for Car Technology.
    I wonder if the Person who designed that great Conspiracy Board didn`t even bother to look up Siemens on Wikipedia.
    Whatever the Reason, i hope they learn a bit about Siemens after putting it on the Wall of Shame for some Reason

    With the machine company sponsors i think it has to be differentiated between selling directly to weapons manufacturers and selling to a different company that then resells the machine to a weapons manufacturer they only have control over one of these things.

    I love seeing those historical F1 cars in the background behind Nolan. Was this shot at the Petersen Museum in LA? I visited the exhibit a few weeks ago, and I had to apologize for getting drool on Häkkinen's championship McLaren-Mercedes 😅 such a fantastic selection from the 90s and beyond!

      Yes! Petersen Museum is a candy story for car lovers. I've been twice on trips to LA and would go again if the chance presents itself. The Indianapolis racetrack has a display of past Indy cars. That is stunning since some are so old.

    Jumbo as an amazing place to work as a young teen. Its one of the biggest supermarkets in the Netherlands. The discovery of the issue with Frits van Eerd was a problem indeed, but i can assure everyone Jumbo is an amazing place to work!

    I can really appreciate this kind of deeper dig into the background of today’s F1 sponsorship. All over the financial world has been spoken of transparency of earnings and defined costs, so why not on the most expensive form of car racing. Well done weather or not it’s all included so far. It provided me with an insight and some sort of het explanation of dodgy name-brands that are currently active, and therefore a bit more freedom to choose. That’s kind of a big deal for me. Big respect for the author of the video. Keep it up and stay safe my friend! 👍🏼

      NASCAR sponsors *wish* they had the money to sponsor F1. F1 sponsors *wish* their series didn't race in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and (to a lesser extent) the EU and Australia.
      Explicitly because of the hard line those countries take on the advertising of tobacco (historically), alcohol (varying) and crypto (recently).

    My personal favourite (probably not sketchy) was rollerblade brand roces sponsoring teams. Perhaps a video on the lesser known sponsors would be cool?

      @@userb3nje909 Not sure on details, but if you google "roces f1 car" there are links to the story, i think it goes back to 1966 until (might have been on and off, definitely sponsored different teams) around 1998/9

    Splunk is a large reputable company. They make pretty much the premier Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) software that most major companies use. I had a class in college that was pretty much exclusively on Splunk and Qradar

    Siemens is a decently big company at gestamp we use Siemens hmi to display our info on presses that make structural parts for cars. Such as Honda crv rear frames, ford escape rear frames
